MamaP so glad we had that conversation on here, can just imagine how you would have been had you not read about Muser. Looking forward to hearing some good news a week on Friday x

What about Pink, how did she get on? Will go and check the TTC thread for her news.

Clare, you do sound a bit demented but its got to be done - its now or never! Once baby brother arrives you'll have no chance. I still can't accept he will be here so soon!

Tiger, after trying to reassure you I've now freaked myself out about movements since the wee man has been much quieter last few days. The rational part of me knows this is clearly because he has moved. He better not stay breech like his sister though.

I can't stop thinking about food either and I know I'm in trouble with my weight. I'm only 3 lbs off my full term weight with DD now. Heartburn has arrived though so hopefully that will curb the appetite a bit. Also, if one more person tells me how big I am they are getting punched squarely in the face. I got it from fellow commuters at the train station this morning, who can't believe I'm not due until May - who then asked if I was this big with my daughter. Fuck right off!

I've had a right old shitey day at work today and under normal non-pregnant circumstances would be sitting here quaffing wines. Feeling angry annd hormonal so had a good weep instead about it all and now feel marginally better - not as good as I would several wines later mind you.

Buffs isn't that just the best typo you've ever seen! Congrats on reaching your 13th week Nix, a big milestone x

Lucy, I agree with Lotta. Makes me mad this postcode lottery of support after MC. Its not a lot to ask for. If not, could you get a private scan? As long as you're not mentalling too much you could just wait it out - you should have a choice though.

Gonnabe · 31/01/2011 19:48

Lucy I saw someone mentioned Watford hospital so I'm not aureus you are over my way but the GDR dept at Northwick Park hospital are lovely and totay understand fears - I've been there twice already. Was back today with a threatened miscarriage but they saw me super fast and were lovely xx

tigerbear · 31/01/2011 19:59

Nickster yay for getting to 13+ weeks!

Clareanna I am in awe of your beauty routine!

Sorry Caribou for giving you the movement heeby geebies! :(

Didn't have any scones, but DH has been instructed to bring home some ginger crunch creams -mmmm.

tigerbear · 31/01/2011 20:01

Oh Caribou, I missed that you'd had a crap day at work - boo! Passing you virtual Ginger biscuits once they arrive...

appleblossoms · 31/01/2011 20:31

mamap well done on not panicing, it all sounds like it's heading in the right direction...I second the others, time to put your feet up and relax until the next scan.

I was the same as stuffed this time, started feeling movements at 14 weeks...and now at only 21 weeks am getting proper belters, tis lovely and reassuring but does make going to sleep quite hard. I would put hundreds of pounds on the fact that within five minutes of covering myself in a duvet this little June Bug starts with the kicking...it's as if it's saying "oi, mum, why have you turned the lights out already?!"

Am very Envy of clareanna...sounds like the perfect run up. Enjoy feeling a little like a lady again!

lucy my GP told me I could have a reassurance scan, then the date came through as 12 weeks...so I rang my midwife in tears! She explained that they didn't do 'reassurance' scans as such, but if I was having any cramps it was worth me being scanned as i had a 'history' of a mmc where I found out at the 12 week scan with no prior warning...her way of bending the system slightly to get me an early one. Hope you manage to sort something out, tis such a rollercoster the first few months!

hurray for 13 weeks nicks...watch out, it'll start flying by! I'm sure pregnancy puts you in a time warp...really slow to 12 weeks...then flies by for a few months, then slows to half speed in the run up to the actual delivery! seances for infection sounds like the kind of thing you'd see on channel 4! maybe you should pitch them the idea Wink

poor moo with the return of heartburn with avengence...tis an evil thing indeed. Have to say, my aniseed gaviscon is almost palatable! and what is it about pregnancy that makes people think they can comment on your size with such authority? grr! punch them i say, then blame the hormones! Grin

I'm feeling huuuge right now, and very stretched. I'd forgotten this feeling from DS..I keep asking DH if he'd mind taking the baby for an evening but he says no Sad Am generally beginning to enjoy being preggo, but wish I could unzip my tummy a bit..or let it out a little more to make it a little more comfy! Went and found the hospital on Sunday, they've opened a new special unit in the next town and pretty much closed down the one in mine (although antenatal appointments are still there)...and realised we'd never been to the other hospital and had absolutely no idea where it was...we do now. eek, only 19 weeks to go! Grin Grin

clareanna · 31/01/2011 21:27

tiger I can't exactly call it a routine... Don't normally have anything done! It is more laziness, I'm v pale normally and after birth etc look positively ghostlike- eyelash tint means i don't have to bother with mascara and bit of grad tan on face means I don't look too awful!! And the ladygarden pruning is to stop a mw coming at me with a blunt bic before the c-section...

moo sorry you've had a shit day at work- do you know when you can go on mat leave? That thought sustained me through the tough days.

tigerbear · 31/01/2011 22:06

Clareanna - oh, so just your face for the fake tan? I had visions of you slathering your bump and whole body in fake tan for the next few weeks - imagine how much you'd have to use - bottles of the stuff! Grin

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 01/02/2011 01:55

Another night of insomnia although have been having twinges for the last hour hmmmmmmmmmmm Hmm and very low backache/pressure although the spiderbabies are having a party in there. Think it is wishful thinking after having a horrible day with tiredness, aching and tears after a weekend of being "up" and spoilt at my baby shower. Have seriously had enough, I am going to burst.......33 weeks today so just 4 to go..........

Clare that is a great idea and I hope you are feeling lovely and pampered. I can't decide when to book my lash tint etc.....might go for next week. Was gonna have a pedicure but seems pointless when I will probably end up with those delightful stocking and be told to take off my polish.

moo Sorry you have had a pants day especially with the old heartburn, feel for you ranitidine is the only thing that has helped me this time. And it never ceases to amaze me how fucking rude people can be about bumps! I bet you look delish lovely xxxxxxxxxxx Now is not the time to worry about what the scales say - treat yourself to another cake Wink although I like the sound of scones tigerbear

Well done on keeping your cool Mama Wink

apple I am right there with you on unzipping the belly if only for just a minute!

Hope you are having a fab time viv and your diamond shoes have a little more room!

Big hello to anyone I have missed, am typing without glasses and serious preggo brian. x

Glad to amuse with typos loopy
Hope you have a better day moo, when does mat leave kick in?
I had people looking at my bump yest asking if I had any news, but I just said 'like what?' not able to go public yet, not sure why! I don't even have a big bump, I'd just eaten for England and was bloated:)

dorcas111 · 01/02/2011 08:58

Morning everyone, thanks for your resassurances. Little Dorcas then had a quiet day on Sunday just to freak me out, but was back to their usual acrobatics yesterday which I was thankful for. Still here though, waiting...
Can someone help with a question- sorry if TMI! I felt this dampness before down below and when I wiped there was this watery liquid, pinky brown tinged. It seemed too watery to be discharge, but not enough of it to be my waters breaking- any ideas? Should I call the labour ward to check? I don't have a midwife I can call.
Thanks, sorry to be me, me, me, tired after a bad night's sleep, will namecheck later x x

AlbaDeTamble · 01/02/2011 09:12

Hi Dorcas, can't answer your query, I really don't know. Show usually more mucusy than that, and waters can leak not gush, it's probably best to call labour ward, either they'll instantly put your mind at rest or ask you to come in to check it out. They'll never mind you calling. (I went in at 32 weeks with possible waters gone, turned out to be weak bladder Blush but they never made me feel stupid and always better to check). Maybe it's things getting started for you now.

lovely to see all the new names here, sorry, have been lurking not posting, a tad sleep deprived.....

lucysnowe · 01/02/2011 09:13

All these busy babies, so exciting!

Thanks for the messages about the reassurance scan apple claire lotta and caribou. Despite me moaning, I don't actually want a reassurance scan, so the m/w just took the decision away from me, IYSWIM. Last time I m/c quite late so an early scan wouldn't really reassure. It just makes the wait a little bit longer. :)

Hi dorcas I would ring your labour ward and get it checked as alba said. I had a small leak like that with DS and it was things getting started. I was told to put a pad on to monitor it and then come into the pregnancy assessment unit where I was put on a monitor. I was then sent home to see what would happen. 12 hours later waters went "properly" and another 8 hours after that contractions started

big sleepy thoughts to magic It's amazing how a bit of social life can completely exhaust you for the next few days, glad the baby shower was fun - did you get lots of little person clothes? soo cute! Hope you can put your feet up today and watch some crap telly. DH is going to be rather shocked at our cable bill when he realises I've developed an afternoon on demand film habit...! What is your bump circumference? you must have played that delightful game?! mine is 118cm!

Today I am mainly sorting out old clothes - I've found a stash of summer clothes that I put away before I had DS (who is nearly 4) and have never got back into Blush
and then going to see my child midwife - she is 22!!! which makes me feel very old... following that I will be practicing singing "she's like the wind" for when I'm waiting for my c-section (for OBEM fans!)

nickstermum · 01/02/2011 11:16

Dorcas it could be your show starting...... oooohhhhh exciting :)xx

dorcas111 · 01/02/2011 11:37

Thanks for the advice, I called the labour ward and spoke to a midwife who was pretty sure it wasn't my waters, but thought it might be a show. Trying not to get too excited... but failing miserably. Will bouncing on my ball get things going any faster do you think?

clareanna · 01/02/2011 12:22

bouncing on ball, going for a walk, sex, going up and down stairs all worth a shot dorcas
Then I think alba mentioned relaxing in the evening with a nice glass of wine.
Lia might be around with more advice soon!

Thanks all. You are right Moo, I'd have been a blithering mess if we hadn't had that chat... especially as my recollection of my mc scan was something that looked bloody similar (a black hole)!

Nix it's nothing to do with your typing ability, you got baby brain already mate Grin

Bounce dorcas bounce! Grin I think I'd try any and all tips... even the old wives type one's!!

Have been passed a recommendation for an acupuncturist to boost energy levels, relieve stress... any experience?s/advice?

AlbaDeTamble · 01/02/2011 13:04

Doing nothing may also get things going Dorcas... my labour started the night I had resigned myself to induction. I'd had two sweeps, was beyond 48 hrs after the last one. Had had bloody show, 2 nights previously... I figured it was all coming to nothing so finally didn't bother bouncing on my ball whilst watching TV (slobbed and got as comfy as possible instead) and didn't go for a long walk that afternoon or go up and down stairs loads Hmm. I guess that would indicate it was all about relaxing for me. So, if you enjoy fresh air and exercise then go for a walk, if you like curry, eat loads, but otherwise just go with the flow!

Will take my place with the cheerleading squad in any case Wink

pass that Brie will you Jolls Grin

toomuchteaching · 01/02/2011 14:56

ooooh exciting, good luck dorcas!

clareanna · 01/02/2011 16:45

good luck dorcas! hope things get going!

I have been officially discharged by my MW who told me she'd "see me on the other side" and wished me well for C-section. Baby brother is currently measuring 39 weeks, so I'm a bit Angry I'm not having him on thursday after all...
Then... the shame.... I got trapped in the car park of mothercare, someone parked too close to my car door and I couldn't get in! Had a wall on the other side, so had to climb through the boot - NOT A PRETTY SIGHT.
Am now resting as pelvis hurts like hell!
