Hope you all can find it, Moms title was perfect I thought.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EffiePerine · 17/03/2010 11:30

See, this is why people get annoyed at our thread title! We all talk so much it must be bouncing up there in active convos all day...

SummerLightning · 17/03/2010 11:31

Yes please can we leave it? I don't think Rubes was meaning to be creepy, I think she was just commenting that your RL name is somehow avail from your profile? (don't know, haven't looked myself). Not days worth of research, no witch hunt, don't worry. Maybe she shouldnt' have commented, but well we all say things we shouldn't sometimes, hey? FWIW I am very identifiable from my profile information and what I post I think, and I don't really care, so each to their own. But yes we can get things deleted if you want, but I am in agreement that it's probably a good idea to stop discussing this now.

Rhubarb · 17/03/2010 11:33

For anyone who does have the time to click onto my profile, then click onto the links and then find my name in those websites. That is not my real life name. It's the name I use when writing.

My private life is very private.

Several people on Mumsnet have been 'outed' and stalked by others they've crossed swords with. So with that in mind I found Rubena's post disturbing and the personal attacks not really very justified.

I've asked for the post to be deleted but also because of the various remarks made, I would like the thread to be deleted too.

Yes I know it's a pain, but there you go.

daisydora · 17/03/2010 11:34

Whats everyone having for lunch??

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 11:36

I see no need for the thread to be deleted - IF we all just leave it alone.

Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 11:41

I am off to the park! Baked potato, hopefully...trying to avoid wheat.

DH says portugal may be a runner

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 11:42

Lentil soup for me. But I am hungry NOW, that's the problem.

katie3677 · 17/03/2010 11:43

[Peeks head around the corner and neatly sidesteps the OTHER subject].
DD has a virus apparently, so nothing to be done, and unfortunately not a hope of catching some Zzzzz's today as too much work to do.
DD has very curly hair, I wash it every day (almost) as she has a habit of putting food in it. I always use conditioner as otherwise it looks like a birds nest. Ususally it is a frizzy mess in the morning, but I use some spray in conditioner and comb it through which seems to do the trick.
No news on the house front, I'm wondering if the agent is delaying because I was a bit cheeky to him, but am determined not to chase. If they come back and say they want more, I am going to take Turnip's (I think it was Turnip) advice of walking away and saying 'take it or leave it', I feel like we've made too much of the running on this one. And that way I can blame Turnip if it all falls through, without the onus being on me !

Rubena · 17/03/2010 11:50

I leave you all to do some RL stuff and pmsl!! Rhubarb, seriously, you are getting very upset over really not a lot! And I'm the pregnant hormonal one! lets all be friends now ok?Nobody is threatening anybody!! Promise! No need for threads to be deleted, that's just being silly.
happy days ok everyone?
Thanks for stopping by Rhub's!! (we almost have similar names ) except I don't like Rhubarb - oh struth, I mean as in the food - I don't like the food Rhubarb - I like you though (My mum used to make me eat it sometimes - yuk)

Aubergines · 17/03/2010 12:29

Today is NOT a good day. I have managed to offend Rhubarb and my Finance Director. To Rhubarb I apologise if you think my post was a personal attack. I don't know you from Adam so it was only personal in that it was an attack on you as OP of that thread. But I concede it was bitchy and therefore hyprocritical. Sorry.

Shame I can't apologise to our Finance Director in the same way. Just had to go and cry in the loos about her. Clearly I should have stayed in bed today!

Hi Tortoise! I remember you well. Glad to see you back.

Must. Stop. Posting. From. Work. It. Will. Only. Make. Both. Situations. Worse.

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 12:34

Oh Aubi. Chin up. What happens on here doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

As to your FInance Director, don't know what you have done but we all make mistakes. Especially me, sometimes I don't know when to stop. Also, I was gently sarcastic with someone the other week (in a lighthearted way - I thought!) and it was taken to be scathing and highly sardonic. Just say sorry if you have done wrong, and don't beat yourself up about it.

Tortoise, I feel so bad about not remembering you. There I was boasting about having the memory of an elephant. Talk about hubris. Hope you can forgive me!

Rhubarb · 17/03/2010 12:43

Aub I tried to CAT you as I didn't want to post on this thread again. I am hoping that posters will respect my request and use another thread, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you for your apology. We all have bad days, I accept that. If you wouldn't mind just asking for your comments about me to be deleted, hopefully we can forget about it. Your apology was really very much appreciated and I hope you weren't offended by anything I've said.

Hoping your day gets better x

SummerLightning · 17/03/2010 12:46

Cheer up Aubs. As to what you said earlier about your DH, I have a very similar relationship, in that I think he is fantastic 99% of the time, and he is wonderful/supportive, etc, but I do have irrational phases like you where everything he does that would normally be amusing just pisses me off. He can be so geeky and make such bad jokes, and usually I think it is funny, but well sometimes....well no. And equally on the action front, well, I go through phases.
As to your finance director, oh dear. Is there any way you can sort it out??
ladyt you usually do have a phenomenal memory actually, I am usually impressed at how much you remember about people!

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 12:55

This ridiculous contretemps has wasted my morning! That's several hours I will never get back again

Right, must do some work. MN is so bad for me, I get sucked in to the vortex.

skihorse · 17/03/2010 13:20

Oh you cliquey bastards - I bet you won't let me play just because I don't have a baybee born in Dec 08.

This is just a fly-by-night, veggiemummy you can email me on [email protected] if you'd like to get in touch about all things Dutch.

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 13:25

Do you have any sort of kid, Skihorse? A pet perhaps? We are a very broad church here

skihorse · 17/03/2010 13:27

I'm cooking a baybee right now (July 2010) and I have 1 horse (April 2000) and 2 dogs (May 2001, April 2006). Am prepared to dress the Jackapoo up as a baybee.

katie3677 · 17/03/2010 13:32

Thank God for MN. I am stuck on the sofa with DD asleep on me, typing with one finger. Despite being knackered she wouldn't sleep, so have had to abandon all hope of work and submit to lying down with her. Very cosy, but I am soooooo bored. I daren't fall asleep in case I sleep through school pickup time.

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 13:33

Well, I'm sure no one would mind you joining us if you wanted to - we are actually a friendly bunch and a few of us are up the duff.

I hardly ever mention my poor DD anyway. It's as if she doesn't exist. She wasn't even born in Dec 08, anyway, so I am here under false pretences myself (she was born in Nov 2008).

KiwiPanda · 17/03/2010 13:34

Goodness. I've been away for a long weekend and look what I missed.

Hello all! Hope everyone is well. I had four days in Budapest which was my Christmas present from DH, which should have been lovely but was made rather a strain by DD, who was in an absolutely terrible mood the entire time. I feel mean writing that as presumably she wasn't well or something but there was no sign of any obvious illness - no temperature, no tugging of ears, no cold etc etc - just screaming fits GALORE and pretty much wanting to feed from me 24 hours a day. Culminating in our last night at the hotel and her screaming non-stop (unless boob stuffed in her face) from 11pm to 5.30am at which point DH walked her round the hotel foyer in teh pushchair for 3 hours. Then this morning she was up at 4am and refused utterly to go back to sleep despite CLEARLY being exhausted. Aghhhh.

Sorry to turn this into a bit of a rant, but she's really doing my head in at the moment. This constant feeding has now been going on for months (she's absolutely fine at nursery or when she's not with me) and I feel like our relationship is confined to her pawing at my top or feeding. Clearly i CHOSE to keep feeding her so I accept that but god, I did think by now she would perhaps be a little less frequent, not 24/7. And if she doesn't get what she wants straightaway it's a screaming rage again.

I know everyone thinks their baby is difficult but GOD she's a nightmare sometimes. Honestly, even DH - Founder and Leading Member of the DD Fan Club - started referring to her by day 2 of our "holiday" as "the beast".

Errrr... now I am just ranting. Anyone want an exceptionally grumpy, high-maintenance baby? Accomplishments: repeated use of word "dada", ability to turn on the charm when meeting complete strangers, screaming rages at Decibel 23542435 and superfast crawling.

Rubena · 17/03/2010 13:35

Hey Ski - I am cooking one too - Aug, but most likely late July

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 13:38

Oh Kiwi, I'm sorry your trip was spoiled. That sounds hard. Do you want to stop feeding her? I am not advocating it or anything, it just sounds so awfully hard on you. I don't know exactly what it's like for you but I can say my DD's default in times of doubt is rage. I am guessing it's that age...

Rubena · 17/03/2010 13:42

Kiwi - sorry about your dd and the trip - you have been missed - but then Veggie pointed out you were away....

Katie - don't fall asleeeeeepp!!

I should probably get organised - my morning of nothingness is about to come to an end so must get sorted!

Aubergines · 17/03/2010 13:43

I have reported my post Rhubarb. Hopefully it will disappear soon. Thanks for accepting my apology so graciously.

waitinggirl · 17/03/2010 14:02

golly! interesting times... good to read while i have madam asleep on me, too, katie. she fell asleep, spark out in her cot after a busy morning, only to wake screaming 1/2 hour later, so brought her down to watch a bit of tv and before i know it she's asleep, but i'm too chicken to put her down elsewhere as it usually ends up in waking up again. reminds me of this time a year ago. am starving, too.

back SO much better now, after some rest and osteopathy. never know whether it actually works or it's just time does the real healing. still not perfect, but manageable, although won't be able to go running for a bit. ugh.

am sure i had something profound to say... nope, that was it
