Sorry Tortoise, I am being a dope, I remember you now. Ooops!

Oh for Pete's sake! Read my thread, I have obviously upset you ladies and for that I sincerely humbly apologise. My thread was intended to upset and I think that is QUITE clear on the thread itself, especially if you read all of my posts.

But it seems you just want to take offence. So fair enough, I apologise. Can we let it lie now? I am very very sorry I thought your ante-natal thread titles were gross and I am very very sorry that I had to look at them in active convos all the time. I am very sorry that I thought the connection with a tsunami was inappropriate, I must not have a sense of humour at all. I am very very sorry that I thought them cliquey even though that was not my original point and I didn't bring that up. I am also very sorry that yesterday some of the ante-natal and post-natal ladies came onto the thread and we all had a nice chat and a laugh and I thought it all ended amicably, I am very sorry that some people decided that wasn't good enough and came back onto the thread to start more.

Rhubarb · 17/03/2010 10:49

Yes I am a huge bitch, really huge. I never post anything supportive at all on Mumsnet I just start bitchy threads all the time. I would avoid me if I were you, I'm such a cow.

Look, I'm flogging myself right now!

SummerLightning · 17/03/2010 10:50

. Yes i think letting it lie is a good idea.

Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 10:53

Hi Timelord. Love "as you were" at end of messages. . Best wishes to all in March 08 post natal group.

Tortoise? I am at a loss too. Child beginning with E. Sorry I am dense.

Effie laughing at the bushy eyebrow and LadyT's little black book of those who have had a go. You do remember though! Lady - interesting fact that about Alistair Graham!! and how lovely that your DH was a part of some many historic comedy moments.

Katie - can you get some rest at some point?

Veggie /anyone - anyone have experience of asthma attacks? DD1 had a coughing fit and was uanble to catch her breath for about 2 hours last night. She doesn't have asthma to date (but is at higher risk as she is atopic). She was still able to speak though so it couldn't have been that bad - but it was worrying. She became very distressed and she is normally a real stalwart. When she goes to the allergy consultant they do a "puff" test and she is going soon so will raise it then.

Sybs - I see there is now a third party allegedly involved in the KW/SM split. Rebecca H.all....hmmmmm. Mystery deepens.

Beautiful day. Dh going to Cheltenham for his annual boys trip tomorrow so will be on my own with the kids. Have decided to bin a 40th birthday party on Friday as just can't cope with 3 babes and a hangover. And of course I am unlikely to go and excercise restraint.

Does anyone know will Portugal be warm at Easter?

Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 11:00

Ooops - x posted with Rhubarb. Calm down lovey. We really aren't that bothered. Our posts on your thread were very calm and measured. Indeed someone on this thread mentioned how nice you were. We are as entitled to our view on how inoffensive our thread titles are - as you are entitled to find it offensive. But in the greater community of MN I think any objective observer would find about 1000 things more offensive than Poonami (or indeed Poonani!!).
Chin up. Honestly, we were glad of our 10 minutes of MN fame. Normally we chitter away here to ourselves. Take it easy.

Rubena · 17/03/2010 11:03

This is all getting a little bit silly isn't it.... Apology accepted Rhubarb thanks for the visit!

Rhubarb · 17/03/2010 11:07

"Wow, I have one hundred and ten things I would like to post on Rhubarb?s thread but I have restrained myself. What a bitchy thread to start. A thread like that serves no purpose as it is never going to change the way most AN and PN threads choose names. Instead it is just an excuse to offend and annoy people and surround yourself with a gaggle of MN oldies who like to judge and slap each other on the back for being so much cleverer/wittier/desperate than other MN users."

This and other remarks about me personally.

Can you name a post where I have personally attacked a poster? The thread ended yesterday amicably as I said, now a few people have decided to rake it up and be rather unpleasant with it. I take umbrage at that. I never thought a few comments about thread titles would end in a personality assassination.

EffiePerine · 17/03/2010 11:08

Turnip: sounds like it could be asthma to me - I'd get her to thegp today if poss and ask them to prescribe an inhaler in case it happens again. May take longer for a formal diagnosis. Both DSs have inhalers thanks to a history of wheeziness but no asthma diagnosis as yet. If she has a coughing fit again I would seriously consider a & e. Talking is good but if it gets worse she may need attention. Don't want to worry you unneccessarily but all the hps I've seem say get to the gp/hosp if you're at all worried by their breathing.

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 11:09

Where in Portugal, Turnip? Algarve will be warmer than Atlantic side. That sounds scary about the coughing fit. Poor her.

Poor Aubi. I reckon you both need a holiday. Any progress on the April one? DP annoys me quite frequently. I could have cheerfully throttled him on Friday night. I do love him though.

Oooh, Rebecca Hall by any chance? Hmmmmm squared.

Hope you can get some rest later, Katie.

I knew that about Alistair, Veggie! DP was born in Edinburgh, it's a Scottish version, isn't it? Not that he is Scottish.

Effie, yes, I have the memory of an elephant. And I think my list has increased since yesterday...Some of the names are picked out in illuminated script, you know Ah well, come the revolution...

Veggiemummy · 17/03/2010 11:11

Ef I have a bit curly hair so I wash it about 1-2 times a week at most. I find if I do it more often it gets dry & frizzy even with the best dry hair shampoo. DS1 has straight hair and DS2 has curly. I tend to do their hair as required ie when filled with porridge/dirt/sand which is usually twice a week.

OP posts:
Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 11:11

Thanks for that Effie. I think perhaps we should consider with our normal conversations ladies, rather than engaging in more relating to The Other Thread.

Effie - I was on standby to take her into A&E in case it got any worse. But that is really good advice. I think I should take her to the GP and get her checked out. I know breathing stuff you have to be so careful with (obviously!)

Rubes are you hungry at the moment. I have the appetite of a HORSE!! Watching the clock til lunch!

DS has fine hair and I hadn't really thought about it, it is frizzy and fluffy and I wash it every other day, maybe I will try not doing. He really needs a hair cut too, he looks like a girl.

Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 11:16

Algarve, LadyT. My sister's boyf's family have a villa there. There is some last minute chat about going there for 4 days over Easter.

But - it's a hell of a long way to drag 3 kids for only 4 days and the flights are going to be horrendously expensive and my sister has no kids and may not realise how noisy they will be...Basically I think she wanted DH and I to offload the kids and come on our own (which WOULD be lovely...but we are going away to a wedding end of May and MiL is babysitting then so we would struggle to get her over from Ireland before then). Plus, it's their easter hols and I wouldn't want to be apart from them...

Rubena · 17/03/2010 11:18

Very hungry Summer -- already thinking about what I can make for dinner - let alone lunch!

Rhubarb · 17/03/2010 11:18

Turnip - I have experience of that. If it happens again take her to the bathroom and turn all the hot taps on. Steam helps. Could just be one of those things or it could lead to asthma, you need to get it checked out.

rubena - you mentioned that my real life name is very accessible and there are other comments on this thread about me personally. I take those seriously. Are you going to start some kind of witch hunt against me because of a thread about TITLES?

Veggiemummy sorry to ask but could you start a different thread please whilst I ask for this one to be deleted. Some comments about me and my real life name and details I find to be quite threatening. Thanks.

EffiePerine · 17/03/2010 11:21

Turnip: I guessed you prob knew much of that, but it is worth knowing that you can get inhalers before they diagnose asthma, if only for your peace of mind. I would prob have whisked DS2 off this morning otherwise as he sounded dreadful.

My head is hurting at these parallel threads so will sat no more. Except that I don't like personal
attacks. But no thread on thread titles is going to end well!

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 17/03/2010 11:22

Sorry LadyThompson et al; I'm not on the ante-natal threads much, evidently.

I think Rhubarb is within her rights to ask for a delete so I'll probably end up repeating myself;

Daughter, Edith Clare, 1/12/08. She's Australian as is her Dad, I'm an expat from England so I often post out of the most popular time periods.

LadyThompson · 17/03/2010 11:23

Threatening??? Please, this is silly. Rubena is not even faintly threatening. No one means any harm, Rhubarb, honestly, so why don't you leave the thread and forget about it. No one is bothered. No one has outed you, have outed yourself on your own MN profile.

What an utterly bizarre turn this thread has taken!

EffiePerine · 17/03/2010 11:24

can't you just ask for the posts in question to be deleted?

daisydora · 17/03/2010 11:25

PMSL at Rubs being threatening

Rhubarb please f#don't feel threatened, really I think this has all got a little out of hand now....

Must get back to work, will hopefully catch up later whereever this thread ends up!

Turniphead1 · 17/03/2010 11:26

Rhubarb - thanks for the tip. I am sure Veg can arrange for a delete.

Can I be really sad and ask that we all step back and be friends. I really don't like this kind of animosity and I am sure Rhubarb is a very nice person in RL, and I KNOW (because we meet up) that Rubena, LadyT, Aubs and all the rest of us are absolutely lovely too. And lets leave the debate on the other one too if we agree.

EffiePerine · 17/03/2010 11:27

And hello tortoise! I know who you are! In a non-threatening way that it

I would suggest that rubena is perhaps more irritable than some of us at the moment due to her hormonal state, only I won't because she'll lam me
