LaTrucha · 25/05/2010 21:56

Yay Lily! That's fab news. Well done you.

willsurvivethis · 26/05/2010 09:35

Well done Lily - proud of you, and don't worry you will be fine x

gingeme · 26/05/2010 14:47

Well done Lillyloo. DH and I were talking about me returning to work once George is at big school. I would love to be a midwife or Doula but will probably go down the childcare avenue first and build it up from there. As long as the child is young enough to go to the playgroupd I go to now
Phew Lat sounds like your doing a great job with S 9smile0 it will seem stressfull at first when baby comes but it will soon all fall into place. Just remember one day at a time.
David has an insect day on Friday so he is coming to playgroup with me in the morning and spending the afternoon with his school friend who visited us a few weeks ago.
Wish I had such a busy social life

JustKeepSwimming · 27/05/2010 19:49

Yey Lily, well done

LaT - it will be ok, and a baby is so much easier to look after out rather than in.

G - dress sounds v fab!

All busy here, had my brother & his wife staying for a couple of days, which coincided with the delivery of a big wooden climbing frame + swings so they've been helping put it up, not quite finished but nearly. It's huge but T loves it already, a big old for H just yet but he'll love the swings.

May be going to a farm tomorrow with T to meet up with friends, though it is our wedding anniversary and DH was talking about getting the afternoon off so not sure yet. THink we are going to go out for dinner too. 6 years = iron, was going to buy him a replacement 4 iron for his golf set as his last one broke, but haven't got round to it! so going to make him a car din a minute with a golf club on that instead

Lilyloo · 27/05/2010 21:58

Good fall back JKS

Well off camping tom , it very cold here but holding back on putting heating on to acclimatise

Thanks for all the mes popped in today to collect crb form etc am really looking forward to it !

simpson · 28/05/2010 12:19

well done on job Lilyloo

Happy anniversary JKS

All good here, just very busy as usual

J very pleased this morning as it was a non uniform day I have promised him a picnic in park after school and RL pal coming along too (her DD is same age as J)

J is going away for a few days tomorrow morning with my dad & brother. Pity I couldn't persuade them to take M too

M is however staying overnight at my mum's tomorrow to let me have a night out

Have had a few problems with M's poos again and she is not tolerating her new formula at all so went to docs yesterday and she is now back on her old one

Got keep fit class this afternoon, just got to find the energy

fillybuster · 28/05/2010 15:35

Congrats on the job Lilyloo Great news

Tamara's feet are also titchy tiny (and haven't grown since last June ) but A had big feet and was a size 7 or 8 by age 2...but 9 is impressive Gingeme! He's 4.5 and a size 11 now, fortunately the growth seems to have slowed down over the past year, as at one point it felt like I was buying new shoes every 6 weeks or so!!

I'm probably on for 8th but now with children...I can just about face getting into town with a EDD of 14th june on my own, but def not with T in tow....can I still come along for a coffee and to admire all your los please?

Actually, T is being brilliant at the moment, going through one of those super-fun stages (yes, I know it won't last) and seems very excited and positive about the baby coming....fingers crossed this will remain true once it actually arrives! I think it helps that she's already the 2nd in the family so there's less issues around 'sharing' etc...and she's had 2 years of being bossed around by her big brother so is definitely ready to have someone littler than her to boss

OK, 30 mins left of T's rest time and I should be organising dh's birthday presents for next week, not catching up on MN...hope you're all well, maybe see some of you next week xxx

willsurvivethis · 28/05/2010 17:59

Hi everyone - glad that this thread is a bit livelier again

We are off camping for the weekend, leaving tomorrow. Trying out our big new tent. Our pre-ds one has just sold on eBay for a rather nice amount.

LaT I got the letter and have returned it - no problems there

Sorry still not posting much. Started new phase in counselling and it is more painful than anything done so far. Have feelings coming back from when I was 7/8 and it is very intense. Had to stop halfway the journey home yesterday to phone a friend as dh on the motorway and I needed support. I know it will help so much, but it is totally exhausting me rigth now and I know why I had been avoiding this.

The funding decision that my new job depends on will be announced in the next week. everything crossed that the Law Centre will be allocated enough funding to pay me.

Hope everything is ok with everyone xx

JustKeepSwimming · 28/05/2010 18:30

Evening

Thanks for the anniv messages, dh liked his card
We aren't going out for dinner, had a bbq with the boys instead and will have some wine & choc ice-cream later
(how things change lol!!!)

WST - so glad you have people, both on here & in RL to support you, it will all be worth it
And fingers crossed for new job, though aren't you rather enjoying this time off?!

Filly - please come along, even without DC, still good to see you, the only thing i can think is that the Corams Field signs say no unaccompanied adults so one of us will have to come and get you in i think. message me on FB and i'll send you my mob number so you can text when you arrive.

Simps - have a good DC-free night tomorrow

Oh and T's feet are a size 9 and he's 4! H is about 6.5 - haven't had his measured for ages

LaTrucha · 28/05/2010 19:22

Evening ladies

We need to treat ourselves to a new thread soon. Any ideas for titles?

Glad you enjoyed your anniversary JKS.

WST - thanks! Here's hoping your funding comes through. I hope this painful phase is soon resolved.

I'm bad tempered, sick as a dog and achy. No surprises there then! Really must get DD away from the TV and read her a story now!

willsurvivethis · 28/05/2010 19:45

JKS yes it is good to have some time off and it didn't come a minute too soon as I had allowed my old job to make me ill again. But I don't want to sit at home too long, I think I will rather enjoy this job and ds certainly rather enjoys his nursery times. The special one is free but the mainstream one costs me £64 a week for two days and without a job that can't last. He can go to the special one five mornings a week but he gets so much out of the mainstream one, the other kids are pushing him forward.

LaT sorry you are feeling so rubbish - baby will be here soon xx

willsurvivethis · 28/05/2010 19:46

oh and Nathan's feet are a size 18

probably a different sizing system?

LuckySalem · 29/05/2010 21:22

Well I think I can post again!!

Just a quick note to say hello, sorry am full of cold so although I am reading I'm forgetting it all as soon as I've read it.

Aaliyah is coming along well and REALLY pushing her boundaries now, really hard work but the good news is she starts nursery after 1/2 term. She gets 2 and 1/2 hrs, 5 days a week. We all went for a taster sesh on thursday and we walked through the door and she took off, I said bye and hid and she couldnt have cared less! lol
She's gonna love it!!

Abigail is now 10 weeks old and also hardwork (must be how I make em) she's still BFd and is going through a growth spurt at the mo I think as I might as well be chained to the sofa with her attached! lol
Shes about 12lbs now (born 6lb 12 1/2ounces) she's a VERY smiley happy girl (if she isn't screaming about food) and so gurgly already!!

DP has just dropped some of his wages in order to spend more time at home and the wierd benefits system means we end up with more money than before

I on the other hand am run down, tired and grumpy - oh wait, no i'm just a new mum! lol

Hope your all ok

gingeme · 30/05/2010 11:17

Welcome back Lucky. lol yes you are a new and very lucky Mum So glad to hear Aaliyah is going to be happy at nursery. It realy does make all the difference. George started to scream at the beginning of his naursery the past week or so but he soon settles once I'm gone Luckily he is number 5 so I knowa all about these tricks
of your dc free night out Simpson. I hope your head isn't too sore today.
DH back to work today after 2 weeks off gonna miss him tonight at bed time. He realy helped with baths etc.
We went to The Museum of London yesterday. It was a great day and we didn't lose anyone . We didn't take the buggy and George did realy well. 2 tubes and walking round all day he managed to stay awake till bed time
ds1 coming on Tuesday and he is babysitting Wednesday night DH and I are going to see Prince Of Persia
Weathers a bit pants here today so having a day indoors.

simpson · 30/05/2010 12:05

Hi Lucky - good to "see" you again

Cannot beleive that Abigail is 10 weeks already

M goes to playgroup (9-11.30) Monday & Friday and nursery (9-1, which I get free!!) Tuesday & Thursday.

At her nursery they also give her a cooked lunch and as J has school dinners means if I am feeling lazy tired I can just give them sandwiches etc for tea.

M loves it too as long as she has red teddy to clutch

My head is bad today as I did not get in till 5am Am waiting for M to be dropped off any minute and luckily have only got her today as J in Norfolk with my dad & brother.

simpson · 30/05/2010 13:12

FFS Molly has just eaten a chocolate button

Will have days of poo now

LuckySalem · 31/05/2010 20:05

Sorry to hear about the choc incident Simps, hope it's not too bad for ya,

Great news about George staying awake. I sometimes wish Aaliyah either stayed awake or napped cos she decides to fall asleep about 5pm everyday, just as dinner is ready. I've tried putting her to bed earlier but she gets up earlier and falls asleep earlier! lol

LaTrucha · 31/05/2010 21:41

How are those nappies, Simpson? I do feel for you.

Sabela can just about get through the day without a nap, but she is really tired by 6ish and hard to keep going, so most days she has a 60-90 minute nap.

Sha adores nursery too. Although, twice after nursery she's been in the front room while I prepared lunch and I've found her flat out asleep ont he floor!

She's going through a phase that is by turns lovely and testing. Her language is coming on incredibly all of a sudden which is lovely. Today she was spinning round in a circle saying, 'Sabela happy happy happy' which is lovely. She has her moments htouhg. Yesterday she was testing me all morning, until we got to the final line (she gets told to behave or go into her room on her own for a minute). Suffice to say, she crossed the line and was hauled screaming to her room. When she got out, she said sorry and then spent half an hour telling me, 'No, mummy. No, no.' Like I was being a very bad girl. So I played along and then she was a delight for the rest of the day.

Today she has been running around in a little smocked dress my granny made for me when I was little. Very sweet.

fillybuster · 31/05/2010 22:35

Lucky - congrats on the baby and welcome back to the thread

Tamara still needs a sleep in the afternoon most days, although annoyingly is always completely blotto for ages afterwards, so her 'waking up' wipes out a lot of the afternoon. Occasionally she'll make it through without crashing, but its not something she can do on a regular basis. She normally goes down around 1.30/2 and is up by 3 so that she's vaguely manageable by the school run at 3.30 Having said that, today she went down at 4 when she got back from the natural history museum with dh and we got her up at 4.45....she was surprisingly ungrumpy by 5 due to the offer of doing some 'gardening' and nice right through until bedtime...phew!

I've come down with some sort of icky fluey cold thing which obviously isn't terrible but is leaving me completely wiped out when combined with being 38 weeks and not able to sleep. DH was amazing and took the kids out all day today and yesterday but I'm still totally floored. Growth scan tomorrow...will be interesting to see whether its still a big 'un [panic]

Simpson, aarrgh for the chocolate button What a nightmare for you...but hurrah for the 5am finish!!

LaTrucha · 01/06/2010 15:42

Sorry you've got flu Filly. Any better today? Glad DH is helping out.

I absolutely cannot get myself to do anything I don't urgently have to do. I'd happily sit and stare at the wall if there wasn't MN! While DD is asleep I have to lie down (which I have) and then just do something like this. Pressing things I could be doing: finding out how to use DD's new carseat that arrived today; ironing - desperately needs done; packing hospitla bag - everything is in roughly the right direction, but not organised.

Ah well! I can stop feeling guilty now. Not only have I organised a cleaner to take up where I cannot got DD is suddenly awake! Now, toddlers don't let you just sit, do they? SO my work is cut out!

simpson · 01/06/2010 16:20

Hope everybody who is poorly get better soon

I have done my back in

Don't know how but can barely walk let alone bend down to pick stuff up

Am going to try and go to my dance class this eve but have a feeling I will just end up watching

My mum is babysitting for me so hoping she will bath Dcs

LaT - on the cleaner

fillybuster · 01/06/2010 19:13

Yup, some sort of flu bug but thankfully its clearing after 3 days of utter miserableness....!

Had my 38 wk growth scan today and it looks like flump will be a 'normal' large baby rather than a 'scary' large one....they think some of the readings at the last scan might have been a bit distorted by baby position etc as the ones from today were completely in line with the ones from the 22wk and 13 weeks scan. Phew! So apparently flump is currently estimated to be around 7lbs 12ozs and will be around the 8lbs something mark when it makes an appearance, which is fine and identical to Ari (8lbs 11ozs) and Tamara (8lbs 9oz). They seem pretty certain it wont be any bigger, especially as I def won't be allowed to go past 41 weeks and on that basis I've agreed to stick to the vaginal birth approach again, despite my fears about the impact...

Simpson, not sure a dance class is the best idea with a bad back - can you take advantage of the babysitting to see an osteopath or chiropractor instead? Hope you're feeling better...

LaT - I know what you mean...permanently shattered and its a struggle to do anything! Its dh's birthday on 10th June and I'm really struggling to get his birthday presents sorted...getting there now, thank goodness for online shopping!

LaTrucha · 01/06/2010 20:16

Filly - what was Flump's position like?

I think I already love the cleaner and he hasn't even cleaned yet. I'm sure my Mum would approve of how I'm using this bit of the money from her house!

JustKeepSwimming · 01/06/2010 20:38

Evening all

LaT - she SO would. Imagine things the other way round Smocked dress sounds so cute!!

Filly - yey for growth scan, not too long to go now. I really hope third time lucky re impact of birth for you

Simps - hope your back is ok soon, agree dancing doesn't sound like the best plan ever!!
And how is M's nappy doing?

Lucky - good to see you back on here Nursery time will give you some great one-on-one with Abigail. You sound like you are doing well with 2!

G - i do get used to DH being around but also i like some me time - and like to get away from his snoring, grrr!
Hope your DS1 has got to you ok and you have a good time whilst he's with you.

WST - one website i looked at gave an 18 = 2? that sounds small even for tiddler

So, new thread title, any ideas????

And...thought AF was here, but it doesn't seem to be... found a test in the cupboard whilst clearing out earlier, so have decided to take it tomorrow....who knows....!?!

LuckySalem · 01/06/2010 21:04

Hmmm coping, not sure on that! lol

New thread title!?! Hmmm, What about something to do with potty training as it sounds like quite a few of us have started or will start in the next couple of months (and this thread has lasted 6 months)
