Have I killed the thread?

LaTrucha · 09/05/2010 16:35

I'm a bit worried about the state of the thread's health, but I don't think it's you that's killed it.

Party today. DD had a whale of a tiem apart from THAT girl, who made her cry twice. I am actually getting concernded now.

willsurvivethis · 09/05/2010 17:14

THAT girl being the one she will spend time with when new dc announces himself? I am sure it will be ok. Honestly. At this age they are still the centre of their own universe so they only take that much care of each other.

simpson · 09/05/2010 17:43

Am here too

Have had a very productive few days cleaning house etc.

My bedroom is now spotless and sporting new curtains

J's room also has new curtains and M's room has her big girl bed up and ready for tonight Hope she is not running amok through the house at 2am

LaT - what does the girls mother do/say when she makes Sabela cry??

WST - am here if you need me

LaTrucha · 09/05/2010 17:55

I don't think she saw. I know it is normal toddler behaviour, but perhaps the crucial piece of information is perhaps that this is the only child who has ever made S cry. When we made the arrangement, it made sense as the two girls do like each other but it doesn't make much sense now DD is hit every time. They were only in the same room for an hour and there were 20 other children there.

LaTrucha · 09/05/2010 18:02

I don't think she saw today. She didn't see the other day in fact . When she does see she makes a big fuss of Sabela and ignores the other child - which is a legitimate strategy.

Simpson - good luck for tonight! Can she get out of her room by herself? I know lots of people who put an extra safety gate on the child's door (but then you do get lots of shouting 'stuck! stuck' and rattling of gates at 2am, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea!)

JustKeepSwimming · 09/05/2010 18:11

Simps - best of luck for tonight!!

WST - still here, just not getting on MN as much as i used to.

LaT - it does sound like the other girl is not the best person for S to spend time longer term with but...you have an arrangement, she will be fine, and being practical, S will be looked after so you can focus on you & baby. It's not like you're leaving them together while you swan off on holiday

All ok here, had a joint bday party for T & 2 of his friends (close friendship circle so not too huge, 16 'movers' and 4 babies) at soft play this morning, he's 4 next week
It was fun but somehow still exhausting!
And H was very good, we went in 2 cars in case he screamed the place down and had to leave early but he was fine, overwhelmed at times, as i expected but mostly fine. Will def take him again when it's quieter as he loved the climbing stuff and clearly signed 'more'

I'm mostly fine, just about over my dodgy ear/vertigo/partial deafness, though i must try to remember to see the doc again just to make sure all is ok.

General hope everyone's ok

simpson · 09/05/2010 18:13

well M seems to have gone to bed ok

But having a bit of a panic as beloved red teddy has gone awol

Persuaded her to take upsy daisy to bed instead but there will be tears if red teddy has not appeared before playgroup tomorrow

We went to a restaurant for lunch today and had red teddy with us when we went, can't remember seeing it after that....

LaTrucha · 09/05/2010 20:19

HAs she got out yet?

We're always scared of losing Pinky Pinky - Sabela's rabbit, but a friend told me that he had been terrified too but when beloved animal was lost DD took another very easily and now she can go to bed with any of her animals. DO hope you find red teddy though.

JKS - I think you're right but it's a good thing to stress about - takes my mind off the birth (and thinking about what happens if I have to have another c-section )

WST - when I get a free evening, I'll come and look for you on FB.

simpson · 09/05/2010 20:28

Well M was a little star bless her

Just put her in bed and minutes later she was in the land of nod

Major relief though as I have found red teddy M had put it at bottom of toy box then piled everything on top

Lets hope she is good all night

JKS - sounds like your boys had a fab time

gingeme · 09/05/2010 21:02

Evening ladies.
A bust weekend here. ds1 was 16 on Saturday We went on the London Eye. It was quite busy considering the weather was pretty pants Edward hated it. We had to drag him on it screaminf, bad parents, but once he got on it and about half way he actualy had a look out and almost enjoyed himself We had birthday cake too and ds1 and I went to see Iron Man2 at the cinema.
Today I sheered all their heads now all their pox scars have faded and this afternoon we went to a friends sons 3rd birthday party which was fab
Simpson fingers crossed M and you hve a peaceful night and red teddy isn't missed till the morning.

simpson · 10/05/2010 08:23

Ahhhhhh

I am sooo tired!!

M was awake from 11pm till 1.30am

She filled her nappy which is what woke her up in the first place (why did I give her baked beans for tea )

Then ahe basically ran amok

I don't know how many times she got out of bed She even managed to walk into J's room and was trying to wake him up!!

This was all with her sleeping bag on.

Then when she realised she would keep getting returned to bed, she took to looking out of window and yanking on blackout blind which will break if we have another night like last night

Oh well, at least she is happy to be re-united with red teddy

willsurvivethis · 10/05/2010 10:24

Ouch Simpson you must be shattered! Hope the next nights is better when the novely wears off. Well done for the returning.

gingeme · 10/05/2010 11:10

Simpson I second WST keep up the good work it will pay off in the end I promise x

simpson · 10/05/2010 11:56

At least the cot is gone (to my mums) so no going back iyswim.

J found her asleep in the middle of the floor this morning

gingeme · 10/05/2010 12:40

Ha ha like George used to do. The amount of times I found him asleep surrounded by toys

LaTrucha · 10/05/2010 14:40

I thought of George too!

DH just passed his driving test! All his 6.30am starts for lessons have paid off. Now, all we have to do is buy a car.

Hooray!

On a negative note, one of the zillion neighbourhood cats has just scratched up all the seeds I managed to plant last week. I could honestly kill them all. Sorry to any cat lovers. I like cats, but not in urban areas! Off to do my worst with citrus and olbas oil. Obviously, the last lot of cat repellent I bought didn't work.

Hope you got a lie down today Simpson.

simpson · 10/05/2010 15:22

LOL I thought of george too when he used to play musical beds

LaT - fab news on driving test

M is still up Am determined she is not going to sleep today so she will go down ok tonight

Went shopping in town with a friend and M managed to undo car seat and get out while she was driving

Lilyloo · 10/05/2010 15:25

Hey all just book marking you all , seem to be too busy to get on here much lately

fillybuster · 10/05/2010 16:22

Lol, glad to see George is who we all thought of when Simpson described musical beds!

Gingeme, it took me a minute to figure out what a 'bust weekend' was.......thought it might have had something to do with the new piercings!!! Glad ds' birthday was fun and that Edward got over his screaming fit

WST - am around if you need me. Last week was lousy but this week will be better, you'll see

LaT - please keep on telling yourself it will be ok. It will, really. And its great that the other mother doesn't sanction the bad behaviour when she does see it...we have some friends who seem incapable of telling off their pfbs even when they're totally out of control!

Simpson, stick at it And well done on the persistent returning. If it keeps on not being fun, she will get bored. Eventually FWIW, I've bought 'backups' of my dcs most-loved teddies as I can't cope with the stress of them losing them. Although Tamara lost her much loved 'baby' (birthday present from my mum) for 2 days this week and was totally heartbroken. Every time she woke up she asked "has mummy found baby yet?" and she kept wandering around looking a bit confused and saying "want baby now please". She also turned up underneath everything in the toy box (after I had given dh hell for losing her...oops...) but I am now in the process of sourcing a baby-back-up on amazon in case this happens again !

JustKeepSwimming · 10/05/2010 18:00

Hi all, just popping in quickly as busy and nearly bath/bedtime.

Simps - good luck tonight!

Been sorting H's paperwork as we have his T(eam) A(bout) the C(hild) (TAC) meeting on Fri - not sure exactly what it's all about but meant to decide on priorities for his therapies.

simpson · 10/05/2010 18:55

have just totally PMSL once I got over panic

Just went to check on M (she went to bed at 6.30) and I could not find her

J was with me and I said to him, "well where is she?" I knew she could not have gone far as stairgate locked.

Then J found her on floor fast asleep under the bed!! LOL.

gingeme · 10/05/2010 21:04

Simpson. Scary isn't it?
Lol Filly no my piercings are just fine thanks
Yay for Mr LaT
Hi Lillyloo x
Well put Edward to bed with no dummy tonight. Put his dummys under his pillow and told him how grown up he looks going to bed without his dummy. He said he is a big boy now and started waffeling on about his halloween party hes going to have when hes 4. I don't think hes going to miss his dummy too much

JustKeepSwimming · 11/05/2010 08:06

Simps & G - how did the night go?

Any tips, of a gardening style, here?
