Hi
We are having a little tea at home for George. Got all his party bits from Matalan its all under the sea theme inviting a few children form the Tuesday and Friday playgroups we go to.
We are going to buy him a train ride on car thing. He likes Davids one now but it is 5 years old and has definately seen better days. Asking mil to get him some Duplo bricks as he is suddenly into building. Not sure what else to suggest to get him realy.

simpson · 29/12/2009 19:40

not sure whether I am having a little party for M yet.

TBH it depends on how the building work goes on the house.

Work starts on 4th Jan...

M getting a toy kitchen I bought in last yrs' Jan sale Been in attic ever since!!

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 29/12/2009 19:44

simpson · 29/12/2009 19:56

M got the large peppa Pig (nearly as big as her!!) and loved it.

But I think the real hits were the Peppa pig figurines (£10 argos)that I now keep in an old ff tin. But they are from age 3 so I play with her iyswim.

She also got Peppa Pig laptop (£20) which has a little handle and she loves carrying it around and pressing all the buttons.

Can you tell M loves Peppa Pig too??

madmouse · 29/12/2009 20:21

Yes hard to believe Nathan's nearly two - he doesn't even look it - well he does in his face but he's still so miniature as I think Lucky called him a year ago.

The scary NICU days are getting further away too - feels like a different universe now.

I have no clue what to buy Nathan for his birthday. He definitely for now does not need any more toys!!! Will need to have a think, glad he's one of the later ones - 1 Feb. So I have a bit of time yet.

AngeChica · 29/12/2009 21:54

A happy birthday to MrsMcJnr by the way!

I also need birthday present ideas madmouse. DS got a duplo train set for Christmas. He already has heaps of 2nd hand duplo, mega blocks and stickle bricks - he loves cosntruction toys! Not much else really. Loads of books which are always welcome of course.

can anyone find the birthdays list? I'm still trying to pack.

madmouse · 29/12/2009 23:02

Ange the only thing for Nathan - and I might as well not have bothered with ANYTHING else - matchbox cars. Wherever Nathan goes a little car is clutched in the one good hand up to the point of me holding his cup when he drinks when I think he should drink and he's not letting go. Also scream fest in the bathroom twice a day when he's parted from today's favourite for washing and dressing.

gingeme · 30/12/2009 10:31

madmouse.
Peppa ig a big hit here too. George got a voucher for Argod and he chose a Peppa car with the family in . Trouble is alot of the Peppa stuff is so pink and feminine
I had a letter this morning saying George and Edward can have a swine flu jab if they want. DH says its a good idea as we have had 2 cases at Davids school Im not sure what to do for the best realy.
Big boys have gone home now. DH driving them back.
orting the boys toys this afternoon to go in our new Trofast furniture.
Right better some more washing in.
Have a good day all. x

madmouse · 30/12/2009 10:34

Ginge Nathan's toys are all in his new Trofast furniture too - he looked mighty betrayed and upset this morning when he spotted his play corner!!!

Right - wii arrived - off to open box. fit bit will come in a few days - then just the getting fit to do

mixedmamameansbusiness · 30/12/2009 11:57

Went to see Sherlock Holmes yesterday... brilliant film definitely getting it on DVD.

At some point over the weekend we are going to take DS1 to see Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, DH and I looking forward to it too, first one was so funny.

Otherwisea quiet one ahead I think. Sure they will pop off to MIL sometime over the weekend and I willfinish off my first weeks notes and reading for uni, really tring to be prepared as everyone else is over 65 (well not all but most) and just know so much about everything.

Kisses to you all ladies.

madmouse · 31/12/2009 10:12

We're not doing anything tonight - well wii fit bit is supposed to arrive today - already have slight muscle ace from too much golf but will give it a go lol. Tomorrow walk and meal with close friends and their daughter. Fitting to start the new year with them as they have dragged me through significant parts of this one.

Bit thoughtful today - a year ago I knew nothing yet, about the ptsd and the abuse. It's gone so quickly and it has been such a rollercoaster!

Hope it will be a fab year for all of us, especially for JKS and family and for all the new babies on the way!

madmouse · 31/12/2009 10:13

should be daughterS don't want to leave one of the gorgeous ladies out

gingeme · 31/12/2009 13:58

Afternoon ladies. I am not doing anything tonight as DH is working till 10.30 then he is going to the pub with his friend (with my permission ofcourse) doesnt realy bother me tbh. Ill probably see the new year in with a little glass of wine then go to bed.
Had a bit of a mix day today. Had a terrible nights sleep but not quite sure why got up at about 7.30 as usual. Breakfast, dressed etc then at 9 am a big knock on the door. DH answered it and it was my neighbour downstairs's brother. Now she hurt her foot and is in a cast just before Christmas but I have seen her hobbling about on crutches and seemed ok. He said could you keep your kids a bit quieter? My sisters not well and she meant to be resting! Cant you get some better underlay or something? (we only have carpet in our hall) or wright to the council to get moved? so DH said fair enough mate and shut the door. Now bearing in mind I know of kids who get up a damn site earlier plus I make sure all my boys are in bed by 8pm at the latest and 2 of them still have atleast 2 hour naps in the afternoon cant she rest then?
But on the plus side we went to Ikea again and have bought 2 more Trofast cabinets for the boys room and with lots of help have put them up and after the boys naps will sort their toys in to them
Right moan over. Thanks for reading.
Happy New Year to you all xxxx

gingeme · 31/12/2009 14:44

p.s Edward and George are having their swine flu jab on the 8th Jan !

madmouse · 31/12/2009 14:56

Gingeme to be frank that is just rude of them, what a cheek. What's wrong with normal kids sounds? And why does a broken foot require so much resting? Wish we could all be a bit more relaxed with each other. Yes our neighbours have two stupid yappy loo brush lookalike dogs that bark when they're in the garden - so what, give and take! It's a big world.

gingeme · 31/12/2009 15:09

Exactly. As I said to DH its more him than her. He doesnt actualy live there and is probably sleeping in the room below ds's. When the boys were new I apolgised if they wokr her etc and she always said she never heard them. She even apologised a few weeks back if she was waking us with her coughing , which she wasn't. I have lived here for 10 years now and have always had kids in this flat so if she was that bothered about it she would have moved by now anyway. Still fingers crossed these new places should start being built in May 2010 so she will get her peace and quiet then.....

simpson · 31/12/2009 17:08

Gingeme - I would be most at your neighbour!!!

Having a bit of a low day today

My brother was supposed to be coming round to watch DVD/takeaway etc and M has broken DVD player so cannot even do that

Just getting me down that I cannot go out when ever I want even though am sure H can

Fed up of fixing everything round house and spend all day picking things up off floor

Also M's new thing when put on naughty step is to shout for J to join her and they have a right old laugh on it defeating the whole object

She seems to find a way round everything I implement iyswim.

Right self indulgent rant over!!

JustKeepSparkling · 31/12/2009 20:41

Happy New Year Everyone

H getting happier slowly. All the hosp said is that it's 'normal to be a little bit grumpy'
Think he is still very tired/sleepy and we need to be ready to put him to bed quicker.
Managed a quick trip to soft play with DH & T earlier so that was fun even if H found it overwhelming. (well it was the busiest i've ever seen it so not surprised)

Hope everyone's having a good NYE, we've had a nice roast and chocolate pudding with bubbly, now sitting down with a silly Jim Carrey film and big bowl of Christmas chocolates

No idea what we'll do for H's birthday, not much think is the most likely.
Thinking of money in his bank account as we have all the toys we need and he doesn't play with anything anyway.

Gingeme - just seen what you've decided about SF jabs - we were going to go for them but the appt came through for when H was in hosp, so it's been postponed for now. Bit about the plan to change from 2 jabs to 2... & what about D?
And your neighbour's bro is being totally U!!! Really hope you get your new place soon x

Madm - hope you're having fun with the Wii & Fit - don't strain yourself!!!

Simps - grr at M messing up plans for dvd watching, hope you & DB get to have a fun evening regardless. Brothers can be fab - my younger one came into Gosh 3 times.

right, best check on farm & cafe then concentrate on this film!

gingeme · 01/01/2010 12:30

Afternoon all.
Have a terrible cold today and a sore throat
JKS the jab was only offered to children up to 5. David will be 5 in April.
I think Trofast furniture is taking over our flat Looks smart though.
RE moving a lady who is on 'the team' has told DH we should be offered some money to move out before the new places are built so we will be able to move quicker. Would love to do this but not sure weather to stay in this area so David can continue at his school which Edward will also start in September or to make a clean break and try a different area of London. Well stay in North London because of DHs job though Well we just have to wait and see.
How was your NYE Simpson? stuff on TV wasnt too bad to watch realy. DH got in from work had a bath and decided against going to the pub in the end
Madmouse hope your enjoying your new toy. Ours is going to get a serious thrashing in Feb. Im starting Slimming World with my Dad and going to make some sort of excersise routine. Not gonna be fat and 40 yes thats at the end of this year.
Right off to farmville now. Have a good day all xxx
