Meglet - so fed up of situation, can't even bear to rant. In some ways he's been better & dd1 has become closer to him as a result, but he is essentially a manipulative bully & makes my life a nightmare when around most of the time. And he's around all too much. He sees the kids, and has done more, though prefers to take dd1 out.

Think Baby Splish said bye bye today, was waving & saying it appropriately several times.

Had funny moment today - was on way to a birthday party, dd1 was lagging behind a bit, when I asked what was wrong, she said she had ants in her pants - then lifted her dress up actually had no pants at all!!! I'd forgotten to put any on her, so had to make a hurried trip home again - thank goodness found out before she was jumping around on the bouncy castle

Yay I'm back!!!!!
On Thursday we has a huge thunderstorm and the lightning came in our house and fried our computer. It was really scary as i could feel the flash right next to me. We still have internet access as we have stolen borowed dd1's laptop. The insurance company are taking the pc away tomorrow and we should get a new one next week.

Robyn has had a chest infection over the weekend and is on antibiotics, She is taking it well and has only been sick once. Me and ds have a cough and cold and dp has finally got his asthma under control. I am sick of seeing calpol and trying to find a medicine spoon.

Went to a petting farm today and Robyn loved seeing all the huge animals. she got quite excited when we saw a percheron feeding her foal and I told her it was having 'booby juice' she smiled and pulled at my top so sje could have some.

Putting Robyn on the birthday list. Have been meaning to put the last births list so we could see when their b'days were but someone got there before me.

Urgh, trying to finish my last bit of freelance work, then I get a few days off before the whole cycle starts again!

Pacita · 04/08/2009 14:52

Ladies, do you give your LOs oatibix for breakfast? Do you buy the big ones or the bitesize ones? And how many do they eat? And what milk do you give it with?

Sorry, doing online shopping and I thought that might be a nice breakfast for the smallie.

OP posts:
Kagey · 04/08/2009 15:19

Carriebo congrats!!

Pacita Erin has Oatibix (the whole sized ones) with heated whole milk. She does not eat a whole one (more like a third laced with bits of banana). I have not seen the bite-sized oatibix, but have the weetabix ones which means we do not waste too much.

However typing this I've now realised I should just chop the oatibix in half .

We had nursery induction today and she had a whale of a time with the other babies, and even took 8 whole steps on her own .

Meglet · 04/08/2009 16:05

pacita The dc's have oatibix. DD is served a full size one (usually with banana or raspberries) and cows milk, but she doesn't always finish it off. Sometimes we have the mini ones. She also has some diluted smoothie or orange juice and either marmite or marmalade on toast. I do tend to fill them up at breakfast so they have plenty of energy for the morning.

carriebo good luck with the house sale

Pacita · 04/08/2009 18:09

Thanks guys, have added oatibix to my online trolley and will follow your wise words. In fact, I'm considering dropping by for breakfast with Diego in tow!

So we're officiall sold. And the perfect house came on the market 4 days ago, 5 bedrooms, 4 reception rooms, utility room and downstairs loo. We visited it tonight. And I hated it The bedrooms were fine - smallish but plenty big enough for one or two children (!!!) and wardrobes/play stuff. But the downstairs was pokey, couldn't see how we would use half the rooms, they were in the wrong place, and there was a weird open living room thing in the hall. I feel crushed! Dh doesn't like the other house that i like, but there doesn't seem to be anything else suitable in our area, other than things that would require a LOT of vision and work on them! Don't want to lose our buyer.
Sorry, that wasn't about babies at all.
Ds can do the actions to 'wind the bobbin' up. And he's very good at listening to mummy and daddy talk about houses!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/08/2009 10:03

wind the bobbin up, wind the bobbin up, pull, pull, clap clap clap. That's a favourite here too!

Have faith that the perfect house is out there. It is unlikely you will lose your buyer. Most people will stick with it for a while. Don't panic! Get the EA to work for their commission and get them on the case and inform you as soon as something comes on the market

Meglet · 05/08/2009 13:08

DD has chicken pox . She's grotty and has a temp but its fairly mild. DS is a bit poorly too, but he's had it before and doesn't have any spots, I'm recovering from my op and dad who is here today has cancer, although he's fine for lifting and playing with the dc's. We're such a healthy family at the moment .

Oh dear she's crying..... Bye!

CarrieBo · 05/08/2009 16:42

meglet are you allows alcohol in your current condition? If so I'll open a bottle of red for us as soon as the dcs are in bed!

Pacita · 05/08/2009 18:57

Meglet - when it doesn't rain it pours, doesn't it? Hope for a very speedy recovery of all.

ninja · 05/08/2009 19:07

M just walked across the room to me, it was so sweet.

I'd just been talking to my neighbour about how you don't tend to keep as many records for your second child so I put my camera into video mode and pointed it and so it's all on recored, the first proper walk.

Sorry end of proud Mummy moment.

ninja · 05/08/2009 19:08

Hope you're all feeling better soon Meglet

CarrieBo · 05/08/2009 19:35

ninja that's amazing!

Ds bum shuffled across our living room today, and tried to pull up to standing on the futon. It took the best part of an hour to acheive this great feat so I won't be putting the stair gates up just yet!

We're trying to decide between three houses to buy. No idea what to do, we each have a different favourite so might end up with the one we saw tonight which is cheap, move in condition, and scope for extension. I'm just not sure i can live with the builders! Beauuuuuuuutiful garden though.

What's more important, garden or location?

ninja · 05/08/2009 19:54

We lived with builders to get the house we wanted (wouldn't have been able to afford the location otherwise) and it was worth it.

With a baby I love a good location but a garden is YOURS. Tough one

Hopefully · 05/08/2009 21:29

Hmm.... Is the location compromise horrendous? i'd be inclined to compromise a bit on location for really good outside space - we had a massive garden growing up and I always felt sorry for friends with crappy outside space! Although we did live in the middle of nowhere, unlike them.

T is most emphatically not walking, but he is making more and more attempts to wriggle along the ground on his tummy (with absolutely no success as yet). it's all quite sweet, but he's beginning to get a bit frustrated by the lack of progress! I guess it must be hard to get up and crawl for big babies with no muscles like T!

Debs75 · 05/08/2009 22:41

Robyn has another tooth, a top front one. Now when she bites she really hurts. Am seriously thinking of starting with bottles. The only problem is she usually bites when she is really tired and she feeds to sleep.
ILTMIMI Thanks for the sleep tip we will try that,

Starlight* You mentioned earlier that you think your ds autism was a rresult from birth. If you don't mind why do you feel that?

Pacita · 05/08/2009 22:54

After many a failed attempt, Diego started crawling this week. Today he had the hang of it. Better late than never. Walking does not look imminent, I have to say. He also seems irresistibly attracted to all dangerous things, e.g. cables. I'm dreaming of wireless electricity...

Starlight interesting what you say about hormone levels, your feelings towards your baby etc (I know nothing about the autism thing, so can't comment on that). I sometimes wonder whether the panic I felt at the end of my labour, combined with the horrendous tear, subsequent surgery and, I am certain, me going into shock, had a negative effect on my early bonding with T. I wouldn't exactly describe my feelings as exactly indifferent, but my feelings of fear and panic far overrode any background feelings of love for him, iykwim. It took a long time before I got that cliched 'rush of love' thing, I know that.

Really should do some work today, but it's my first day of work post-deadline, and I want to chill out! T is at CM, it's a nice day. Maybe I'll do an hour of gardening before I get on with real work.
