Hiya everyone sorry i've been neglecting my lovely MN friends just been busy and only had time to update FB

Well Liverpool was fab and loved the new shopping complex amy had told me about, but my PND was bad and felt that everyone was trying to have a say on how to bring up Sarah and that they were critisising (sp?) how I was bringing up Sarah Sarah was great on the drive down and back didn't cry once
Sarah is 3 months old tomorrow and cannot believe how time has flown in. She gives the most lovely smile and laugh and tonight she rolled from her back onto her tummy for the first time it was wonderful to see

My problems with 'visitors' is starting to ease, went to doc yesterday and it was a different one than i normally see and she prescribed me different ointment and supps and its doing wonders, got a full nights sleep last night, well as full as you can with a 3 month old lol

I am sorry for not being on as much and will try to catch up with everyone hopefully tomorrow silk sorry to hear your back at work, I'm dreadin March when I have to go back.

llynnnn · 22/09/2009 22:23

just a quickie before i head to bed! glad to read that everyone is doing well

laura - pleased you are doing better with your visitors

silk - glad Eleri is settling into nursery well, makes going back to the dreaded work soo much easier

sory for the flying visit, will hopefully be back tomorrow!

night all! hope everyone gets a good nights sleep!

June2009 · 23/09/2009 00:46

hi lynn i've not had time to catch up properly either. comes with the territory I guess!

hey laura hope the new treatment is going to sort the visitors out for you! Have you been given anything for your pnd? Excellent that Sarah has turned, we have more and more tummy time now and Calypso turns to her side and we help her do a whole turn but she has not done it on her own yet.

She started blowing raspberries yesterday, it's the cutest thing .

daisy Louise where are you, hope you're doing well.

silk aww @ the giggling for you when you picker Eleri up , glad work is ok, I know it's hard.

littleS good luck with the driving lessons, I did that thing where you learn over 2 years (from 16yo) with a designated driver (in france).

I also find it knackering having people round, I just can't cope with entertaining the baby AND the visitors.

Hey Effie, 4 months jab already!! It's all going tooooo fast. C. has her second lot of jabs on monday, boohoo, it was horrible seeing her cry last time, she is usually such a happy baby.
I did not get gaviscon in the end, she seems ok now.
bedroom wise, I can't relax because I'm not comfortable with the mini pill, I can never remember what time exactly I took it the day before so I'm never 100% sure that it was within the 3 hours bracket so we've been usign condoms as well. My libido is low because of the extra weight I have not shifted yet, so overall it's not been great....(and obvioulsy not enough according to dh, though he has been very nice about it and not putting pressure at all.)

skillbo we have a bumbo and use it very little. I'm hoping to use it on holiday more maybe? Have I got you on my facebook?

naat hope the dissertation works out ok for you. How's mila doing with her nights now?We tried hand painting and have a nice canvas full of blobs that look nothing like a hand. I keep meaning to try again ...
How long is your sofa taking? (and which one did you choose?)
They were advertising mattresses everywhere over the weekend and our one needed changing. DH says I must have broken it when I was pregnant what with all the extra weight!!! Anyway so we bought a new one and they also take a few weeks to come ?!
When are you doing your hair/iron blood test?
I'm finding mine everywhere and it's driving me nuts!!!

erm yay for that roast, can't wait till we have one too. I make a mean yorkshire pudding (when sil doesn't open the door mid-cooking to "check" them. Grrr)

waves to the ones I missed, we've had a hectic schedule since we got back and i'm already thinking about packing for our holiday in 2 weeks.
We've been to rhyme time at the library (they give you free books when you register the baby did you know?). Rhyme time was not really good, I'll have to try a different library.
Also been to baby sign language which was great (but had to pay £5.50 for it) I will definitely go back though, the teacher is really enthusiastic and you can see she's really good with kids.

Also sorting out the christening, having the party after round our house and the number of guest keeps increasing :S

right, better post this before my battery runs out,

take care

Tee2072 · 23/09/2009 07:27

Hi guys

Yesterday sucked

For those of you not on Facebook:

Adam's had this lump on his side ever since he was dropped at 3 weeks. We have been assured over and over that it would go away, no problem, it was just a subderma haematoma, caused by his broken rib.

Well, it hasn't gone away. Its gotten bigger. And bigger.

So yesterday he had his second set of vaccinations and the GP had said at his first set that he'd take a look at it today. So the GP took one look at it and said 'I'm sending you over to A&E for an ultrasound.'

So off to the Children's Hospital we go.

4 hours, a lot of poking, an ultrasound and a very unhappy baby later, they have no idea what it is. It has integrated itself into Adam's circulatory system, so they don't want to just cut it off. It has some cyst like qualities, but isn't a cyst. They just have no idea.

Next step is an MRI. In order to give an MRI to a baby, they need to put him under General Anaesthetic, which scares the crap out of me. But they need to do what they need to do to figure out what this thing is on my son!!!

So that's where we are at. We should get the MRI appointment in a month or so. I'll keep y'all posted.

And hope all of your babies are doing well. The lump doesn't bother him at all, thank god. And I think he's going to sleep today, just like he did the day after his previous jabs!!

OP posts:
llynnnn · 23/09/2009 08:06

oh no tee, poor Adam and you of course. must be very worrying for you all. hope you are ok and i hope you get the app through as soon as possible so you can get this sorted {{hugs for you both}} xx

june - baby sign language sounds fun, do they sing songs to the babies etc? your holiday is coming round very fast, i'm very jealous!!

morning to everyone else, hope you are all well

Naat · 23/09/2009 09:46

Oh Tee, poor poor Adam Thankfully he doesn't feel any discomfort but how stressful it must have been for you and DH to hear such inconclusive diagnosis... I hope you get the MRI appt soon. (((HUGS))) Come and vent if you need to, we're here. xxx

Back later!!

LittleSarah · 23/09/2009 10:15

Tee - Sorry to hear about your dreadful day! Poor wee Adam. I really hope they figure it out very soon.

I had another terrible night. tried to go to bed early (ish) at 10.30, he woke up for a feed not 15 mins later, then kept whinging when I put him down so ended up bringing him in with us. Then the usual 3ish, 5ish, 6.30ish. So hoping this is just a phase.

silk - I am so impressed you are back at work, with Alex sleeping so badly I can't imagine having to do that, well done!

June - Glad baby signing was a success, think we'll just be doing it the old fashioned way. Just haven't managed to get us organised for any classes at all!

laura - I hope you are feeling better now after some good sleep! Fab Sarah has rolled, Alex goes half way but no further, the big lump!

Bigcar - Next week on Strictly should be very interesting, Richard Dunwoody poor soul looks awful... and not sure about Jo Wood either, high hopes for Natalie and Ricky!

Was it you who mentioned It Takes Two? Or someone else? Anyway, I love that programme too, usually watch it back on iplayer as that is dinner time these days!

Naat - I'm sorry to hear about your dissertation worries, I am sure it will be fine, it sounds like it is just a technicality. My friend has just finished his phD thesis and all that happens now is they 'sign off' on it if they like it. No mark! No viva!

worried - GREAT hair! Just recently dh said he would be happy for me to have my hair short if I want to cut it. He loves it long. Now of course I am liking it as it is and too scared to cut it, but on the other hand I'd really like a big change.... ahhhh.

MrsMcJnr - I hope you're feeling a bit better now, I go through my low patches too. I hope Aaliyah has settled down, I think Alex has had a few teething symptoms but it mainly seems to be extreme hunger he is suffering from, all he is a fair size already!

Right, that's all I can manage the noo, A needs ANOTHER nappy change!

Hello to all!

bigcar · 23/09/2009 11:01

morning all

tee, sending you ((((hugs)))) poor Adam, will be keeping fingers crossed for you all.

june, wow, you have been busy Glad you enjoyed baby signing. Edward isn't rolling yet, he gets right onto his side, just doesn't manage that last little bit, but then he's still not overly keen on being on his tummy!

llynnnn,

laura, you mean you've been out in rl? Hopefully your visitors will be departing soon, sounds like the different treatment is doing the trick. Sorry to hear about the pnd, I hope people weren't criticising, I'm sure you're doing great

silk, going back to work seems to have come round so quickly, it must make it easier knowing Eleri is happy at nursery?

littles, sorry to hear you're not getting a good sleep, do you think it may be the 3 month growth spurt thing? Dh is also learning to drive (test next week!!!!) I remember being terrified when I had my first few lesson, probably best not mention how many times I stalled the car at junctions, traffic lights, roundabouts ........

effie, Edward also had his last lot of jabs yesterday, I hadn't realised it was 3 lots this time! Hope Rupert got through it ok I'm definitely with you on wanting time to slow down, Edward is growing up way too quickly, they are babies for such a short amount of time and I'm loving every minute! I don't want him to be a baby forever, just a little longer would be nice.

skillbo, bumbos are good, it's just Edward is a lump rather large lad, I think they go up to about 20/22lbs (around 12 months) but as he is already 17lbs wouldn't be able to use it for long. Although he loves the one we got

naat, great news on the sofa! Not so great news on the dissertation, hope you get it sorted, fingers crossed.

Edward was much better last night when I was out [phew] but I left much better instructions this week he would have been fine if dd3 hadn't decided he needed to wake up so she could play with him You wouldn't think being out for two and half hours could make you worry that much! Best go, my little man is yelling calling.

waves to all

Effielou · 23/09/2009 11:53

Hi All.

All quiet here, after Rupert had a dreadful day yesterday, after his jabs.

tee sending all my love to you allhope you get the appointment soon- to ease your mind abit if possible.

Ruperts shouting that hes hungry-- catch you later xxxx

Skillbo · 23/09/2009 13:33

Howdy all!

Sounds like everyone has been having an eventful few days!

Laura I know what you mean about the time flying, it is really scary. The amount that Jazzy has changed is unbelievable and it hasn't really been that long. Silk - I'm glad you're enjoying being back at work as I am sure you weren't looking forward to it, I know I'm not. I am however, very lucky in that I don't go back until January. However, with the time going so quickly, I am sure it is only a matter of time before Crimbo has been and gone and we are trying to find childcare....boo

June - I have only just got on facebook but if you want to look me up, I'm Katie McNab and my piccie is the one with the baby. I always thought it was a bit lame and people should just try and catch up in person but now that I'm on it, I can't believe how great it has been findin all my old friends, and making new ones as well - like you guys!

Tee - am so sorry to hear your news - what a worry. Obviously, joined the thread a bit late so wasn't aware of your accident but here's hoping the MRI finds what's wrong and it's easy to fix. I know what you mean about the GA, very scary, but I guess you have to look at the long term picture. Big cuddles coming your way though (and one for Adam too!)

Jazzy has managed to roll both ways now which is very exciting. Does mean I know have to watch her like a hawk wherever she is in case she gets moving... no more running to the loo whilst she's on her mat!

She is really uncomfortable at the moment as she hasn't had a poo for a few days. She went through this when she was first born, the longest she went was 10 days which was really scary (and sooooo horrible when she finally gave it up!). I thought we had got it sorted but looks as though she still has tummy troubles. Mind you, could be a growth spurt as well as she seems to be permanently attached to me...! On that note, best go get a pint of juice as I don't get the chance once she's awake and she's draining me dry!

Take care all xx

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 23/09/2009 14:23

My goodness... it's taken me two hours to read all your posts...it must be over a month since I last posted . No excuse really.

Got no time to catch up properly. SOme of your stories have made me , some and some downright !

Off to hospital now to be signed off from physio with SPD.

Had my smear the other week and apparently my cervix has lowered considerably and she could hardly get the spectulum thing in . Understandably I'm petrified about trying anything with DH as she said that it can pull it lower . I'm going to chat to the physio about it in a minute and hopefully I'll get a referral soon to see a specialist about my third degree tear (though I'm not concerned about that in the slightest).

DD is doing brilliantly. No colic any more (thank God) and smiles and giggles all round. She's not rolling at all though so I'm going to give her loads of time on a flat mat so that she can learn.

Another Strictly obsessive here. I agree with all the comments about Alesha. Out. Of. Her. Depth. Shame that Martina went. Loving the look of that Ricky from Hollyoaks and I thought that one from The Bill was fab.u.lous (in Craig-style-ee). I also record X-Factor so I can watch it on fast forward. I'm glad the freak show element has finished now. It was getting a little boring watching them.

Hello skillbo!

Sorry to hear about shitty neighbours, horrible bath experiences, PND, explosive poos, inconsiderate DHs and night wakings.

DD now sleeps from 10 - 6ish (though it was 5 this morning... grr). Swaddling has definitely done the trick.

Love to you all. I promise not to leave it so long and catch up individually next time. xx

Effielou · 23/09/2009 14:38

HiIneed great to hear from you-- It takes a while to catch up if you've been away for a long time!!! Hope the physio gets things sorted!!! My spd has almost correceted itself!!!

I might not be on for a few days- as virgin are saying we haven't paid the bill the money has left our account!! so they are full of bull. Flynns disgusted that theres no nick junior!!! Hes now building a wall- copying the gardeners!! He looked down behind my back and tugged my pants and said " just checking you haven't poo'd mummy" the potty training is obviously sinking in! lol

Anyway hope to be back soon if anyone else wants me on FB I'm Steph Timms-- I'm holding my ginger budda!!!!lol

Naat · 23/09/2009 21:05

Hi all!

Effie, urgh how annoying for you! WHat did they say then? When are they going to resume the service? LOL at flynn pulling your trousers sorry!! Let's hope he didn't do it in front of the workmen

Skill, sorry to hear about Jazzy's tummy problems Did the HV or GP tell you anything about it? I think sometimes they can go days without going for a poo but if she feels discomfort maybe you could ask them about it? Well done on the rolling!!

Ineed, hi! nice to hear from you again. Glad the swaddling has done the trick and you're having better nights Glad you've been discharged by the spd physio What did she say about your uterus?

Bigcar, glad last night Edward was more settled while you were out. at dd3 wanting to play with him at that time.

LittleS, oh dear! Another growth spurt maybe? He was sleeping soooo well! It seems they've switched places with Mila then, as she's now sleeping really well Really hope he goes back to sleeping all night soon!

June, hi! THe sofa takes 8 weeks but as we're moving 1st December running away from the neighbours from HELL we asked for it to be delivered after that. If not we'd have it for a week and then would have to move it ourselves again This www.dfs.co.uk/sofas/fabric/capella/160/2959/0/large-image is it. Congrats on the new mattres! Nothing worse than a bad mattress!

Laura, glad to hear the new drugs are getting rid of the unwanted visitors Sorry to hear you felt a bit down in Liverpool, hope you're felling better now (((hugs)))

Silk, awwwwww how sweet Eleri saying hello with a big smile!! So glad she's doing fine so that you have peace of mind.

Llynn, hi!!

Well, it's taken me ages to finish this post Mila is taking a nap in the middle of her cluster feeding. I took her today to be weighed and she's 5.900 (or 12.98, for Bigcar ).

I went to uni yesterday to drop those printed emails so now I can only wait fingers crossed!

I'm going strong with my pilates but I now stretch a lot at the end to avoid ending up all sore

No more news over here. Hope you all have a good night. Waves to all!!!

xxx

MrsMcJnr · 23/09/2009 22:05

Hey how are you all? I feel really lost with the chat; don?t seem to have had much time to get on here recently. DH is still trying to win Mafia Wars on FB so the computer is permanently on that page. Been nice to see what some of you have been up to on there all the millions of things I had to say seem to have deserted me no doubt they will come back as I read and respond?..

MrsMcJnr · 23/09/2009 22:59

Looks like we will need a new thread soon .. how about ?time to shift the Mummy Tummy??

Skillbo ? we got DS?s passport photos from paspic.com. It was so easy, we just uploaded our own from home and they sent us the photos. Glad I misread your last post about the Rickys on Strictly I was the same about FB was very skeptical but have really enjoyed catching up with people I never meant to lose contact with or just reading what people are up to day to day.

Ermintrude ? your Sunday dinner sounded yummy no sign of Aaliyah?s teeth yet just the dribbling and chewing. DS did a bit of that and then about 3 weeks later the front bottom teeth arrived!

Tee ? sorry to hear about the lump, MRI and anesthetic, it must all be very scary. Glad to here that you are getting some good nights of sleep, it makes the world of difference. I have been sleeping really badly recently, not much to do with the kids either. Think I have been cold with just a sheet so the duvet is back on the bed now (even though it is still 25c in there at night). Monday was my worst day this week, DS was so naughty and I felt like crying.

Embarrassing thing I wanted to share, my neighbour commented to me yesterday that I was back in my trousers, chuffed I responded that yes I?d lost ½ stone in the last 4 weeks to which she said ?no, I meant after being in shorts all summer? she could have let me down gently!

Weighed Aaliyah today (she is 15 weeks today) and she is 6.86kgs. Plucked up the courage to have her ears pierced today only to be told at the chemist that the staff were still learning how to do it! Needless to say, I did not proceed!

Llynnnn ? I remember when DS started sucking his toes, it was so sweet Aaliyah has not discovered hers yet but she is obsessed with sucking her right thumb

Bigcar ? I missed the group dance on Strictly I fell asleep! Aaliyah does the lolling noddy head too. That tray looks fab and Edward is so cute Glad to hear things were better this week when you went on your course.

Effie ? hope you and the boys are feeling much better I had a milk bath earlier ? my own, don?t know why I have such an abundance at this time of night! Sorry to hear that Rupert?s jags upset him hope you don?t get your internet cut off.

Our neighbours are having their balcony enclosed with glass curtains. Can?t help wondering if it is to keep the noise of our children out (they are in their 50s and don?t have any kids) good news for us is that it might keep their smoke in, I hate the way it drifts over to us.

Naat ? hope you get the issue with the dissertation sorted, must be very worrying for you.

Aaliyah has her PCV (80 euros! Gulp!) next Monday and then another set of jags at 4 months and then the PCV again at 5 months.

Littlesarah ? hope Alex?s routine settles down again soon. I find it so hard to function when I have had a bad night?s sleep especially when I had got used to sleeping full nights again. Where do you plan to do your test? I choose Joppa because of all the roundabouts at Sighthill! We?ve had a few poo explosions too over the last few days, all over Aaliyah and me, lovely! Enjoy writing the blog, I try to keep up a 5 year diary but there are some huge gaps.

Silkcushion ? glad to hear that work and nursery are going well

Laura ? glad you had a lovely time in Liverpool but sorry to hear that you felt like you were being judged. You sound like a fabulous mother to me

June ? I know that Daisy is just back from holiday but not sure where Louise is, hope she?s ok. Where are you off to on hols again?

Ineedmore ? lovely to have you back! Low cervix sounds a bit scary, poor you, what implications does that have?

llynnnn · 24/09/2009 08:12

morning all! hope everyone is well?

mrsmc - at your neighour, some people are so tactless!! i'm sure u look great. good idea for the thread title!

naat - love the sofa! it looks really comfy. good to hear Mila is doing well with her weight. hope you hear back soon about your disertation and all is ok

effie - hope you are still around? virgin drive me potty, their customer service is dreadful! lol at flynn pulling your trousers, he sounds like he has a fantastic humour

ineed - hello, good to hear from you! what did the phsyio say about your cervix?

skillbo - hows Jazzy? hope she is ok, my niece (who is 10weeks now) also has the same problem with holding her poo's. have you been given any ways to help her? they just told my sis to offer her a bit of water

bigcar - glad Edward was better while you were out this time. the amount of times i've had to stop dd1 waking up isobel by kissing her and giving her toys!! bless them, babies are just boring to them arent they!!

littles - hope Alex has got back into his good sleep pattern and you are able to get some more rest

Isobel has taken to sleeping on her side, does anyone know if thats ok?? i put her down on her back but she automatically rolls onto her side and sleeps really well. i have tried moving her onto her back again but 5mins later she is back on her side!! she is such a wriggler she usually ends up lying across the cot rather than down it too!

waves to everyone and their scrummy babies!

Naat · 24/09/2009 08:27

llynn, hi!! Mila has slept on her side since birth... One of the MWs at the birth centre put her on her cot like that with a rolled towel on her back and she slept so well after that! I guess she just got used to it and since then she will only sleep in that position

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 24/09/2009 10:16

Hello all...

Well the physio said that the cervix is low and that I need to wait to speak to the gynaecologist when I get referred for my tear. Apparently there is this 'ring' that I can have to keep it up.... I have to try and get things going with DH again to see if it interferes with sex. She pushed it up when she examined me and it did feel a little uncomfortable, but not painful, so hopefully it won't 'get in the way' as it were...

DD sleeps on her back, but likes sleeping on her side too. DS is a side sleeper so I won't be surprised if she becomes one too.

I'm thinking of introducing her to a cup as I'm going to by-pass the bottle thing altogether. I haven't tried her on one for ages... I know she HATED it last time DH tried. I'm going to get my arse into gear and express a few feeds for the freezer for emergency purposes so that I can potentially have an evening out. I HATE expressing, but I want to do it for peace of mind.

MrsMc - Blimey it sounds expensive having jabs in Spain.... I don't really think about how expensive it is when they're free over here....

Llynnn - DD's a wriggler too and ends up all over the cot!

Naat - Well done for the Pilates. I really need to get my arse in gear and so something to shift this weight.....

I had lost all but 4.5lbs, but a weekend with my Dad's fabulous cooking put 2lbs back on . Then DH got back from a school trip to Belgium with chocolate and it's all gone a bit to pot over the last few days. Back on the wagon today.

Love to all xx

June2009 · 24/09/2009 12:32

hey, are we all supposed to have a smear after birth? I don't think mine is due for another 2 years.
ineed hope it'll all be fixed soon. don't worry too much about the pounds, be extra careful the next 2 weeks and they'll soon drop off again.
tee I hope you're ok, so sorry to hear about adam's lump it must be really stressfull for you. lots of {{hugs}} for you.
mrsmc I like the title I'm officially on a diet. We're off to cyprus to introduce the little one to family and frends over there. I can feel my stress levels going up already, the week before going on holiday is the worst for me, I do all the packing and have to tie loose ends at work and prepare so that I won't need to work every day from there. The accountant is already chasing me for stuff I'm behind with..
Can't wait to be there ,hopefully I'll be able to relax.

I could ask sil to arrange a day where she can come over for 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon once a week so i can do some proper catching up with work or I could get a proper baby sitter.
sil woudl probably love it and say yes but be utterly unreliable, on the phone to her mates most of the time and generally drive me nuts. As far as I know she has no real experience with infants appart from having mates who have kids. C hardly ever cries with me or dh but always does with sil and she thinks it's normal cause "babies cry" sort of thing. .

gotta go for now!

ermintrude13 · 24/09/2009 13:48

Hello all, time for a quick post:

llynnn If Isobel is strong enough to show a preference by rolling onto her side she'll be fine. Like Naat's LO, Arthur has always liked that position although is now happy on his back too.

Ineed is that a prolapse? I've had a bit with all 3 labours - pushed too hard with DD I think - but pelvic floor exercises sorted it out. But they're not making much difference this time . I should see the doc but can't have an op for ages because of breastfeeding and the fact you can't lift for 6 wks - impossible! Will have to keep squeeeeeeeeeezing.

June you just have your smear at the normal time - only women who miss one because they're pregnant have a post-natal one, to catch up.

Sounds like SIL may be more hindrance than help with C - you can't work properly if you're worried or hearing your LO crying too much.

mrsmc I hope your neighbour was kicking herself for being so rude. Well done on weight loss!

bigcar · 24/09/2009 14:23

afternoon all

june, hope we're not supposed to have a smear, don't think I could face that at the moment! I think I have about a year left before I'm due one I always end up doing the packing, if I left it to dh, he'd probably just pack a change of clothes, a toothbrush and that would be it

ineed, that ring sounds, um, er, interesting! Hope everythings ok. I'm with you on the expressing, I do it when I go out on a tuesday but it's so much faff! Really I'm only out for two and a half hours so Edward should be ok, it's for my benefit more than anything else

llynnnn, Edward also wriggles all over the cot at night, although not quite so much when he's in his sleeping bag

MrsMcJnr, your neighbour was a bit insensitive half a stone is great and must be really noticeable

naat, lovely sofa I hadn't realised you were moving again, are you moving far? Shame the neighbours have been a nightmare, you've not been there that long

effie, lol at Flynn checking you you're obviously on the right track with the potty training! Hope you sort virgin out soon

skillbo, those growth spurts are great aren't they? It's really draining when they constantly want feeding, takes it out of you more than normal. I don't watch hollyoaks, but saw (the other) Ricky on it takes two last night, I get your point now

Oh well, strictly will be on tomorrow, can't wait to see how the other half do. Dh is already complaining, he's stuck with it now until just before christmas, funny really as he felt the need to vote for Joe last week, not that he was watching it properly

I just wish there were a couple more hours in the day, I'm finding it hard to find time to do the exercises the physio set for me. Trouble is every time I go she finds something else that needs work and adds a couple more exercises. I really want to do more as it's definitely working, I'm not pulling myself up the stairs of an evening now the way I was.

waves to all

LittleSarah · 24/09/2009 16:17

Quick post, another bad night. Not so many wakings but he woke up just as we went to bed and just did not want to go back to sleep, argh. In bed til 11am (with A obviously) and still feel tired. Have none pretty much nothing of use today and I have my driving lesson at 6pm. Booooo.

So better go and do the dishes/clear up before dh gets home!

will try and respond more later.

Hi everyone

I am finding it so hard to keep up with you all and what is going on with your lo's so please forgive me for harping on about my own lo. I will endeavor to read your posts and reply as soon as I can.

When I last posted I had changed Elina's formula (on the advice of the health nurse) to Cow & gate Comfort First. All went well for 2 days and then she started to be in pain again. I popped to the Pharmacy where they recommended Gavison Infant. So we started with that but mixed with the formula it was far too thick and Elina couldn't get an oz even with a No.3 teat. She was getting so stressed that we decided to revert back to SMA Gold and used the gaviscon with that. All was ok for a another couple of days and then she started refusing feeds again, arching her back at the sight of the bottle etc etc. I took her to the health centre on Tuesday to check this out and get her weighed. The health nurse said I really should not have changed her formula to Cow & gate and should have stuck with SMS!!!It was a different nurse.I explained that I did it based on the advice of her collegue etc. I am so irritated by being given confusing advice.

Anyway, Elina had gained 5 ozs in a week so all well there. However as the days have gone on she has still been refusing most of her feeds Then yesterday I noticed black bits in her stools This means there is bleeding in the gut.
I took her to the GP today to get this sorted out.
She is fine and now on Zantec and Gaviscon and we are going to see how she goes. I hope it kicks in soon so my poor little girl can feed happily again. It breaks my heart to see her in pain. Her stools have had more black in today so the DR told me to call back if still happening in a couple of days. I hate the thought that she has been bleeding inside

Had terrible day with DS1 as well. Massive meltdown this morning for 30 mins. Then when calm we realised that his trainers had been left at swimming on Tuesday (mummy's fault) so another meltdown. After doing the school run, collecting and dropping off the trainers and then the DR's visit I ended up waiting 45 mins for prescription. Then DH called to say the house alarm was going off.I returned home thinking the house was being robbed to find I had left the back door open this morning .

Ok, have to run now as kids tea ready. Back later xx

He confirmed that she has severe Reflux
It is quite common so not to worry

Gosh that post was pretty mixed up. Can you tell my stress levels are high today? .

Sorry Tee to hear about Adam. I hope the DR.s figure out what it is. God bless him

Evening all!

Chocciedooby - sounds like you have had a crazy day and I'm sending hugs your way. It's awful when they are hurting and there's nothing you can do. Here's hoping that it either sorts itself out of you get some decent, reliable advice.

We have had a rather nice, if long day today. I had a day out in Bournemouth with my best friend and her little boy. He's 2 and a bit which is lovely but he doesn't quite 'get' little ones and so seemed to want Jazzy to play with him! It was a bit of a scorcher though so we went to the beach (bad move, sand eveywhere including Jazzy's eyes!) and then ended at a soft play place. My friends DS seemed to enjoy it but as hadn't been able to get Jazzy to sleep at all, she was quite grumpy. She finally grabbed half an hour on the walk home from the station (god, she hates trains!!) but am not looking forward to tonight as she generally sleeps better if she's had a few naps and she basically went from 7.30am through to 7! Sleeping like a little angel now tbough!

On the subject of smears, I have to have annual ones at the moment which is why I went for one. Ermintrude is right - just bad timing for some of us!

MrsM - will have to look into the passport photo's as that sounds like a nice, painfree way to sort it out!

Ineed - well done for losing the weight, I haven't even thought about dieting or cutting back on fun food. You should be really proud of yourself! Got a finger of fudge beside me on the sofa right now - oh, yum!

Really excited about Strictly and can't wait for tomorrow night. Bring on the boogie.. I am most excited about Ricky but have quite a girlie crush on Zoe Lucker so will see how she gets on!

Bigcar - have only tried expressing briefly to see if I could and, my goodness, how strange to see my boob stretching down the tube! I am hoping that I can express for when I go back to work and keep feeding in the morning and evening but am trying to pluck up the courage to really go for it! Anyone have some good stories / advice?

Jazzy finally let rip with her poo last night and it wasn't pretty. We're not overly worried about it as seen two GPs about it and her tummy makes all the right noises. It's just a little sad watching her squirm a bit but on the whole, she's still quite sunny!

Anyways, best get going and check Facebook before DP grabs the laptop off me xxxx
