Naat · 19/09/2009 14:19

Hi all!

Tee, ouch! Hope Adam gets back into the routine he had Glad to hear you're getting the support you need. xxx

ermin, hi! Mila is also a very burpy baby massive sailor-like burps here! Those bibs look brilliant!

Llynn, sorry to hear DD1 is feeling poorly hope she's on the mend soon.

Bigcar, Skillbo, no idea who Arlene is as it's my first time watching the show but I also thought poor Alisha is just going bla bla bla and it's obvious she's the sweet/nice judge of them all. I liked the show, although I also think no one really stood out yesterday. Let's see what happens tonight, I'll have to see if DH wants to watch it if not I'll just use the sky+ He put up with it yesterday quite well but he commented on the poor old presenter all the time his jokes are not good, poor guy...

June, Calypso seems to be in a very healthy weight sorry to hear about her reflux problems... no experience here on gaiscon but I think Effie has used it or is using it with Rupert so maybe she'll come with better advice. HOpe you don't have to touch anything from work during the wkend

Right, DH is off playing football now so it's just us girls. Mila is taking a nap so I'll take advantage of that and tidy our bookshelf which is now holding anything and everything besides books I also have to do some laundry... I'd better start soon before Mila wakes up

Back later, hi to all!!!!

xxx

bigcar · 19/09/2009 19:04

naat, Arlene was a professional dancer who now choreographs, think she's been involved with westend shows, music videos etc, she always knew what she was talking about and usually disagreed quite loudly with the other judges, twas fun to watch Apparently her and one of the female dancers were dumped as they fell into the older age bracket, pretty disgraceful if you ask me.

Brucie on the other hand is a national institution who probably should have gracefully retired a long time ago, thing is, sometimes he is so shockingly bad he's good

Aleisha was a contestant a couple of series ago, she used to be in a girl band, that and doing strictly is her only experience. Oh, and the girl band thing was pretty short lived! Hence why people are saying she's not qualified to be a judge, she's just there as a pretty face

hope that clears things up and of course that is just my personal interpretation!!!

worriedamy · 19/09/2009 20:56

hi everyone... just a quick pop in to let you know I have added a pic of me with my new fringe and {ahhh!} purple hair!! Oh and a couple of pics of Caelan in his new bumbo which he loves!!! Will pop in for a proper catch up tomorrow... hope you all have a good night!! Woo woo, Daniel Craig in Casino Royale tonight.... he's from my neck of the Wood ya know... born in the same hospital as Caelan

Naat · 19/09/2009 21:31

Worried, it looks great!!!! It really does, it suits you really well And Caelan looks lovely in his bumbo

Naat · 19/09/2009 21:37

Bigcar, thanks for that explanation now I understand a bit more why EVERYONE wants Arlene back The old guy does make you laugh sometimes, you're right, bless him

Skillbo · 19/09/2009 21:49

Good evening all... hope you're all well on this fine Saturday night.

Had a pretty nice day today... went to town but there is a boat show on in town so it was totally packed to brimming which meant DP was in charge of the buggy and had to deal with all the f**kwits getting in everyones way. Serves him right though - was right to be worried about last night as, true to form, he got trashed so was relegated to the lounge. Felt weird waking up alone - makes me glad he doesn't work away. I know some of your other halves do so take my hat off to you.

Tee - passport, hey! Are you planning a nice trip or is this just to be prepared. My parents live abroad so we need to get Jazzy one but you have to go to a specialist photographer place, don't you? How much are they as we should get it sorted as thinking of going to see them soon'ish!

June - I'm afraid I don't know much about colic and reflux so not sure if you can get them together. It would be bad luck though! Jazzy seems to be coping off the infacol - the only downside now is that her poop smells really bad... I thought it was bad before but has a distinct cheese smell to it now which is horrible, gives our bedroom a nice pong!

Ermin - thought I might invest in those bandana bibs for when teething starts in earnest. I have heard good things and your recommendation has tipped me over the edge!

Lynnnnn - hope DD is better and it wasn't anything serious. Also hoping she didn't pass it on to anyone else in your family - you in particular.

On a lighter note - am sad to see Matt go out of Strictly... I thought Martina was better but, what do I know (about the same as Alesha, I reckon!). I want Ricky (Calvin from Hollyoaks, not the ropy guy from Eastenders) to win anyways - he is looking hot to trot.. yum!

Anyways - have a great rest of your weekend. Have a family barbeque tomorrow so here's hoping the weather holds x

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2009 23:57

Hey girls how are you all? I wonder how far I?ll get catching up tonight. Poor Aaliyah has been very unsettled today, I think she?s teething poor mite I?ve also felt a bit down the last few days. I think it?s the freak weather we are having. It?s dropped about 12c and we have wild winds, its like winter arrived overnight. Should be a bit warmer next week though.

Effie ? absolutely no mojo here either! Sorry to hear about your bad day on Friday, sounds like you have a lot on your plate, sending hugs x

Skillbo ? hope the jags went ok. Do you REALLY like Ricky from Eastenders?

Worriedamy ? it was a baby Bjorn sling I was wearing the other day so couldn?t feed in that but I have 2 others I think I could feed in but I am yet to use them! Could it be too cold in the bathroom at bathtime?

Doris ? life sounds exhausting for you at the moment, I don?t know how you do it, how is DD2? Poor little thing

Bigcar ? thanks for the TV tips, DH loves Mock the Week.

Littlesarah ? great news about DH?s job.

Naat ? hope poor Mila?s teeth aren?t hurting her too much.

Hey Ermintrude and Choccie and Llynnn

June ?Aaliyah is throwing up after feeds a lot at the moment; I thought that it was maybe to do with excess saliva from teething?

Tee ? I?m with you on the sleep pattern, it?s so hard when it reverts back.

Why is it that just when we get these babies into a routine teeth start disrupting it all?? Night, night ladies

ermintrude13 · 20/09/2009 17:24

Hey all

WOrried that hair looks fab. From blonde to purple is very bold but has paid off . Caelan looks so happy in his Bumbo, I tried Arthur out in ours this morning and his little face lit up as he found himself face to face with his big bro who was playing Lego . Eventually his head gets a bit tired so I won't overdo it but it's so cute to see them 'sitting up' in it.

lol@ all the Strictly comments, especially at Naat referring to 'that old guy' meaning the Blessed Brucie, our national treasure . He was never funny actually, come to think of it . I thought Martina was voted off because she was foreign and no other reason - not fair at all!

I made a big roast chicken dinner for the first time since Arthur was born, and then syrup sponge with custard so we're all sitting about groaning. In a good way .

MrsMc are there actual teeth to be seen or is A at the dribbling and chewing stage? My DD's came through without a whimper while DS1 made a real meal of it - getting ready for claiming man flu when he's older

Lovely and sunny here, we should have been sorting out the garden not eating roast dinners. Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

Tee2072 · 20/09/2009 17:58

Heee, I also tried Adam in his Bumbo today! He seems to like it, but like erm's Arthur, his head does seem to get a bit tired after awhile. I keep meaning to buy him a tray for it. Oh and A slept through last night! That's twice in one week!

I hope everyone is doing well. A has his next set of Jabs on Tuesday. I have a feeling he has gained at least 4 pounds in 4 weeks and maybe an inch! My good big boy!

worried the hair looks fab!

OP posts:
llynnnn · 20/09/2009 22:38

evening all!

we have a bumbo and have tried Isobel in it, she lasts about 10secs then starts to flop to one side! bless! she loves being held upright though so she can take in everything around her!

worried - the hair looks fab! wish i was brave enough to have something different done to mine, i always have the same cut and colour every time! Caelan is adorable in his pics!

tee - hope Adam sleeps through again tonight!

erm - mmm sponge pudding! we went out for carvery at lunch today, was delicious but i ate one to many potatoes i think!!

touchwood, dd1 seems to have been fine today. i have a feeling it was her very last tooth coming through that knocked her out of sorts, pleased it was nothing anymore sinister or catching! So now she's finally got all hers I guess Isobel can start now!!

mrsmc - hope A has been more settled today, poor little thing. hope you feel brighter today too, it must be a shock to the system changing temp so suddenly when your body has been tuned to such high temps for so long

skillbo - hope dh has suffered a little today after his night out, well done for relagating him! i always want to do that when dh has been out lol!

i know i'm sad but i've loved the weekends tv! double xfactor and strictly could get used to this!! i didn't think Martina should've gone either, I thought she was quite good really

hi Naat, hope you have had a nice weekend

dh is back at work tomorrow after a lovely week off, will miss having him around and helping out! Isobel is so funny at the mo, she is always laughing (then is sick straight after, bless!) and has a new fascination with sucking her toes, as soon as she lays down she grabs them and they go straight in her mouth!!

hope everyone else is well x

bigcar · 21/09/2009 10:04

morning all

llynnn, glad you had a good week. Loving Isobel sucking her toes, sounds so sweet.

tee, great news on Adam sleeping, hope that continues. Edward has his last lot of jabs on tuesday, it'll be nice to have that over for a while

erm, poor Brucie, but he thinks he's sooooo funny Makes you wonder how they could ditch Arlene and Caron over their age, but not Brucie That roast sounds really yummy, all round to yours next sunday?

MrsMcJnr, poor Aaliyah, hope you're both feeling a little better today. It's definitely autumnal here now, the leaves are all turning on the trees.

skillbo, hope the bbq went well. I don't know the other Ricky, will have to keep an eye out next week

worried, your hair looks great Daniel Craig is quite easy on the eye John Major was born at our local hospital, not quite the same somehow!

I can't believe Martina went out, I thought she was miles better than Rav. Chris seemed much better on saturday than friday, latin must suit him better. Can't wait to see Tuffers next week, especially after doing the group dance with his tongue hanging out!

waves to all

Effielou · 21/09/2009 11:05

Hi All.

Much brighter today- hubby is being more patient with the "bedroom" worries!!! I think -he thinks- if he keeps stressing me I'll end up like my Mum!!! lol

We are having our garden done ( my FIL owns a builders merchants, and so all stuff was free and the gardeners are free- because they owe FIL money- so working off their debt!!! -- Flynss just asked if they have found the treasure!!! lol

I agree- alesha was dreadful!! shes not much better at singing!!

june Rupert also has gaviscon! I give one sachet per bottle- 5oz- it says because of hos weight to give 2- but in no less than 220mls- but 5oz is much less! it does the trick!! He won't take it for BF- so only give it with FF x

me and the boys all have a cold!! so not with it at the mo!!lol

Hope all the not so good sleepers get better and talk to rupert how too!!! lol

Teethers-- hope it doesn't you and Mummy for too long xx

Bumboo-would love one- but think Rupert the tank maybe too big for one- but think fisher price do a similar thing- with a bigger weight!!! and then goes to a booster seat x

right must go and make "more" tea for the men- shame they are not tones, young and good looking!!! lol

have a good day xx

bigcar · 21/09/2009 11:32

effie, bit of luck there with the garden Next door have builders in, they're not much to look at either suppose quality of work is more important! We decided against a bumbo for the same reason, couldn't see it lasting more than a couple of months. Got one of these in the end from toysrus as they had them on special, can't find it on there now though.

Effielou · 21/09/2009 12:03

Hi bigcar yes thats the one I meant - does Edward like it???

bigcar · 21/09/2009 12:51

effie, he does, likes the spinning things on the tray! It holds him quite snuggly which is nice. As others have said with the bumbo, his head starts to loll after a while but that'll come with time. The only thing I will say is that I have to watch the other dcs don't lean on the tray when they stand up as it's not designed to take their weight, but that's the same as a lot of Edwards stuff Will post a photo later when I can find the camera.

Effielou · 21/09/2009 13:10

DH gets paid soon- so will invest!!!

just had a lovely shower- in breast milk!!!! the sprinkler systems working xxx lol x

bigcar · 21/09/2009 13:15

just realised I took some the other day, just put them on my profile if you want a look!

bigcar · 21/09/2009 13:19

just found it on toysrus here still on special!

Effielou · 21/09/2009 13:21

just looked-- hes gorgeous xxxx I will def invest xxxx

Effielou · 21/09/2009 13:23

have sent the link to DH xx early xmas pressie xx

Naat · 21/09/2009 17:49

Hi all!

I've been reading but haven't got round to posting

Effie, that seat looks great, hope you get it soon, effie! Glad you're feeling better. Great deal on the garden!

Bigcar, Edward looks lovely in his seat

Llynn, glad DD1 is feeling better and that Isobel didn't catch it! Awww so lovely she's laughing! DH got a giggle out of Mila the other day, but still nothing for mummy

Ermin, hi! your family meal sounds fab! I'm not spending that much time in the kitchen these days, I still cook from scratch but mostly simple things

Mrsmc, hi! hope Aaliyah isn't suffering that much with the teething... Mila seems to be more settled, not complaining that much but drooling like mad

Skillbo, LOL, glad DH had a glance of what it is to handle a pushchair among very understanding and nice people around Hope you had a good time at the bbq.

Quiet day here. Yesterday we ordered our sofa! It will be a while until we get to enjoy it, though but we got it.

We tried doing some foot and hand printing yesterday for Mila's life book and the hands look quite well but the feet We should have practised the thing before putting it down on the book Oh well...

A French friend of mine who's working for the UN in NY sent Mila a lovely Giants cheerleader outfit I thought it was very sweet of her I'm going to take pics of her and will then show you.

On a less cheerful note, my dissertation supervisor called me all the way from France on Saturday to ask me if I had cleared with the Red Cross that my text of choice had not been translated already... it seems he found a link to a Spanish text!! I told him I had and that I had an email my contact there had sent me last year so he asked me to print 2 copies of the email and take them to uni. I'll do that tomorrow as I have to pick up our passports that have come back with the new visas. I'm a bit nervous although he told me not to be... I'd die if they fail me because they think I didn't follow the required procedure

Anyway, I can only wait now.

Waves to all Juners!!!!

Skillbo · 21/09/2009 22:12

Howdy all - happy Monday night to you all, hope your weeks all started really well.

Met up with some really old friends today who I reconnected with through Facebook (I slated it for years but now I'm online, I am loving it!!). The best thing was, they brought another old friend with them who has a little girl called Charlotte who was born on the 21st June. It's lovely to have someone so nearby with a June baby!!

We looked at Bumbo seats but they don't look like you'd get much use out of them. However, that chair BigCar put on looks fab... might have to also invest in one of those!

Naat - it is soo lovely when they start to laugh. Jazzy hasn't quite got the hang of it, she just has a massive open mouth cheesy grin and takes a huge breath in (with the appropriate noise), which makes me laugh lots. We also had hand and feet prints done a few weeks ago, but we had the opposite problem.. feet came out lovely, the hands were just loads of blue blobs on a piece of paper as she is obsessed with them and wouldn't let me spread her fingers out!

Erm - all your talks of roast dinner had made me consider cooking one up. We have the MIL over tomorrow so might try and impress (and take her mind off of the state of the carpets, bathroom, ironing etc).

MrsM - I meant Ricky from Hollyoaks who is dancing this coming weekend.. Ricky from Eastenbders made me laugh a lot with his big goldfish mouth but really does nothing for me! On that subject, sooo sad Matt has gone, he was my favourite pro although do have a fondness for Brian even though he looks weird - he is very exciting to watch!

The BBQ was nice yesterday - Jazzy got about a bit and was shattered by the time we got home. She's still waking at least once a night but should still thank my lucky stars I think - I presume its because she is still on the boob and she doesn't stay as full as if she had a bottle.

Anyways, gonna try and get quite an early night so sleep well all you Juners!!

Effielou · 22/09/2009 10:24

Morning all.

Just a quicky before Rupert wakes!!!!

hes just had is 4month jabs - I can't how quickly its going!!!! I wasn'y it to ssssssssssssssslllllllllllllloooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww down!!!! A freezing time spell would be good . Hes a bit snotty with a cold- but no temp - which is why they still gave them to him!! Flynns also got a cold -so was up lots with him last night-- yawn zzzzzzzzzzz!

Rupert tries to laugh- but sounds more like a duck quacking-- sort of donald duck esq!!!

gardeners are back- building a wall- so we will have a raised patio- with steps going down to the rest of the garden!!

Skillbo I'm Steph Timms on FB--if you want to add me x

Naat I hope the assignment goes ok I'm sure they won't fail you x I hoping to be doing assignments this time next year- when I do my return to nursing course!!! SCBU Nurse again!!!

Anyway lovies- have a fab day xx catch you later xxxxxx

LittleSarah · 22/09/2009 16:05

Hello all

Just quick post, I have been reading but I keep forgetting everything!

Had a lovely weekend with cousin and uncle but now I am knackered. Alex is still getting up in the night regularly, argh, at least twice and often wakes up before we go to bed (10ish) for a feed too. What happened?! I don't know. At the moment I am just toughing it out but I may have to try and change something soon, but what?? Also when dh starts his new job in 5 weeks I will be taking Molly to school so there will be no chance of lying in bed with baby trying to catch up a little.

Had my second driving lesson. Not too bad at all. Still nervous and stalled a few times at this one junction which was so frustrating but normal I guess. Did change gear and drive on a fairly busy road, use traffic lights etc so not too shabby. Plus my dreadful steering definitely improved!

Okay, I started that about 10.30am and now am trying to finish it! Went to meet my cousin with her children, we both agree number two has hit us even harder than expected! She is getting more sleep than me but has a two year old at home practically full-time so she has her own problems! Alex had a poo explosion while out of course (up to the armpits!) and of course I had no change for him. Luckily my cousin was far more organised!

Going to start a blog - Living on Leftovers, or something similar. It is my new thing. Plus it will keep me writing and will be good to say I've been keeping my hand in when I start looking for a job! I will show ye all it once I have it sorted.

Right, I am going to try and catch up properly in a while, I need to get washing put away and dinner started now.

Hope you are all well!

xx

silkcushion · 22/09/2009 19:32

a quickie from me as I'm back at work now

It's alright really

Eleri seems to be fine at nursery and when I collected her yesterday she broke out into a big gummy smile when I arrived and did her first ever giggle awwwww

love strictly - think Alesha is ok but not as good as Arlene- also think Bruce is past it. Sad that Matthew Cutler has gone as he's lovely. Martina just wouldn't have had a fan base as she's not British (we're crap really as a nation)
