June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

Natty, my willy IS miniscule. And Daisy is a fucking slag, all over that Iggle Piggle she is, and wtf is the obsession with the fucking pretty flowers?
My butch looking DS now walks everywhere saying 'look at the pretty flowers' which is... odd.

Then again in the next breath he asks to go to the pub for chips and a smoke.

"Mummy I wanna go pub. I want chips and smoke"

Brilliant.
When we go to the pub I have coke, but he can't say it, and instead says smoke. People look at me like I am the incarnation of Kerry Katona.

Mother Dearest is coming here today.
No doubt I will have to endure listening to her tell me how fab she is and what a great mother she is etc.
We are going to Westfield.

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 11:10

seriously tho, hope ur ok mpw.. 'just shoot me' does not sound positive..

charlie had me up every 2 hours feeding im shattered..

whats everyone elses plans for today?

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 13:12

natty, giving him the stuff you expressed in the morning is OK, but it can be counterproductive, as he is telling your boobs in the evening that your body needs to be making more iyswim.

the best way of ramping up your supply is switch feeding; so when he is done on one switch over and vice versa. It might be coming slower, but rest assured your boobs are NOT completely empty. Have you had a look at the stuff on kellymom. Loads of other useful stuff on there as well.

lol fury at chips and smokes . hope you're doing OK. I think I'm going to be on holiday when you pop.....someone please send me a text!

Had a decentish sleep last night; bumble didn't wake till gone 5! See I know the little bugger can do it!!! I feel like a new woman, inspite of being choked with swine flu the cold

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 15:36

daisy i am full of cold too.

yes i agree it is a little counter productive, but some nights i just need to NOT have a baby attached to me for five hours.
hoping to get supply up quickly, i am putting him on one side, then the other, then back to the first side until he is full.. but then half hour later he wants more.
this cluster feeding in the evenings is normal isnt it?

(realises she knows very little about bf)

Sputnik · 24/07/2009 16:22

Totally normal, stick with it.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 16:47

absolutely normal natty, tiring though it is and with three two other kids to look after as well

have a look on kellymom, it's a great website.

Now sputnik and fury, don't laugh at me as I am feeling inordinately proud of myself, but I made THIS

It's a bit pants but considering I know fook all about t'interweb and pooters, not a bad start.

Not even sure I'm going with that name, and have registered another couple of domain names....

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 16:49

aw daisy thats good
did u know i studied web design and programming at college? if you get stuck and want help

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 17:03

I didn't know Natty.....it's good to know it though and I might will need some advice at some point!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 17:15

and if anyone has any advice on which free cheap software I should use to build my website I'd be greatful.

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 17:29

i always found frontpage (comes with office) good for first timers, i dont know if u have that already?
i used to build mine from scratch using code (i find programmes limiting) but i have heard good things about dreamweaver.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 17:39

a quick question natty; so far the domain names I have looked at are through a hosting website. The domain name I really want is already takenm but is for sale. If I buy it outright, do I then not need to pay yearly. I have got a couple registered through 1and1 (as recommended by fury) and pay so much per year for them. then if I did buy it outright and it was mine forever, could I then use this via someone like 1and1 or would I be on my own?

I really am clueless at this.

Sputnik · 24/07/2009 18:01

Hosting and domain registration are 2 separate things, although lots of people sell them together. You can't buy a domain forever, you need to renew annually or whatever (you can pay for 5 or 10 years or whatever in 1 go though). Once you have your domain you need to set your DNS to whatever host you choose.

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 18:08

my dad did something similar i think, he bought a .com domain name, but got it to redirect to his free hosting address which was a go.to/yournamehere.
so basically when you typed in orangepromotions.com it would then send you to go.to/orangepromotions.

is this what you mean?

to be honest im good at the creative stuff, not so good at getting them up on the internet, i think i cheated and used geocities alot as i just had to upload my pages much like you would pictures on facebook. then redirect to geocities from the main url. but then of course u have to put up with an advert banner which on an offical site (ie not something for coursework as mine was) is probally not a great idea.

oh and im a dab hand at graphic design as well, was my original career choice (till i fell pregnant halfway thru my course )

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2009 18:09

right, so what would I be buying on the site that says that the domain I want is for sale?

would I be better buying the domain which is eg blahblah.co.uk, or go for one that is available which is blah-blah.co.uk. Will the one without the hyphen will come up more in search engines?

Sputnik · 24/07/2009 18:42

I think both would come out equally on search engines, the one without the hyphen would be marginally preferable simply because it's less of a mouthful to tell someone verbally, IYSWIM.

Once you buy a domain you can host it wherever you like you just need to change this DNS thing, it stands for Domain Name Server and simply it's the server that tells the rest of your internet where your domain is. Not a redirect.

Sputnik · 24/07/2009 18:43

You can buy your domain anywhere you like btw. If ithe name is free then it's free.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 24/07/2009 19:08

What Sputnik said

You can't buy a domain 'forever'...tbh I'd be a bit suspect about that. Normally you have to pay annually.

Email me the domain you want and I'll have a look.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 24/07/2009 19:16

Actually, you know what, I am having a fucking shit week.

What with DS passing out and going blue, I got a £1500 tax bill, my car being broken into and my stuff stolen, my SPD is so bad I am up all night in agony and I still have at least 4 fucking weeks to go, and today we find out that DH is likely going to be made redundant and has 2 months.

Fuckin' awesome.

Anyone else want to shit on me from a great height? Go on bring it on, I'm well hard.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 24/07/2009 19:17

Oh yeah, and the boiler died yesterday. Cold showers all round.

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 19:29

oh mpw
it never rains its pours. i remember feeling like that a few months back with all the money problems and dh being forced to stop work, and all the rest of that crap.
i think (not being patronising, well trying being pregnant makes it all seem so much worse.
whats the MN equivelant of a huge ??

MakkaPakkasWilly · 24/07/2009 19:48

I don't think it 'seems' worse, I think generally it is actually a bit crap

I sent an email to my sister explaining my woes. She responded with '4 months ago my husband left me and had an affair'.

I want to be sympathetic but I REALLY want to reply with 'then why are you still sleeping with him?'

Bumperslucious · 24/07/2009 20:08

Makkapakka - sorry haven't read what has happened but just thought I would tell you you have been named checked on this thread. Hope DS is ok

TheNatty · 24/07/2009 20:08

mpw ok it is that bad.

do you feel better for having had a bit of a rant now tho? or have u still got more in there

Bumperslucious · 24/07/2009 20:15
