June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

daisy thats really crap about the car

im so sick feeling very sorry for myself. any ideas what i can take for a cold whilst bf??

LackaDAISYcal · 21/07/2009 21:48

natty, boots own brand hot lemon and hot blackcurrant remedies are OK as they don't have any decongestants in them....but you can also make your own hot honey and lemon drink and bung some soluble paracetomol in.

DS1 is coughing and wheezing really badly this evening . He hasn't had any asthma symtoms for over a year and a half. Wondering whether to call the docs tomorrow or not?

TheNatty · 21/07/2009 22:27

cheers daisy
little man is really congested too and is having terrible trouble eating too, bless him.

poor ds, hope he improves and doesnt get any worse tomorrow, is it a cold do you think?

MakkaPakkasWilly · 22/07/2009 08:57

Fucking cunting arseholes that break into my car

This is why guns should be legalised. I should be a sniper.

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 09:28

oh dear MPW, when did that happen?

MakkaPakkasWilly · 22/07/2009 09:32

Last night some time.

Car was ransacked, but I think it must have been kids as they left 2 items of value - the pram (not a cheap one) and the locking wheel nut that came with the car (apparently these are about £400). They did however get my sat nav and DH's ray bans...about £450 worth of stuff really.

Luckily we don't ever leave much of value in it - but as there is no real damage to the car not sure if insurance will pay up, they may argue we left it unlocked (I don't think we did but it's a remote possibility, the last time we used it was when we were panicking as DS was passing out going blue and not breathing, we may have been preoccupied).

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 09:41

arse for u mpw, whats happening to the world. how long ago did it happen last time?

LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 10:17

arse MPW

I'm forever leaving mine unlocked, but thankfully it always looks like someone has already ransacked it so it gets left alone

actually recently someone had opened the glove compartment and the underseat drawers recently but nothing in them other than some CDs in beaten up boxes....obviously they didn't rate my musical taste and none appear to have been taken. But as per aforementioned state of car, I couldn't honestly tell

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 10:52

awww u guys! tescos shop is excellent. dh relieved he doesnt have to cook for a few days and also pleased i will be getting tiddly tonight (as he thinks he will get some )

LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 11:06

natty.

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 11:08

any ideas how many feeds i need to prepare for that little man cant have lol.. planning on drinking the bottle between us tonight, we could really do with a break.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 12:16

natty, no need to pump and dump, or to give expressed milk. As long as you aren't pissed as a fart when feeding then it'll be fine.

I regularly have a few glasses and feed afterwards, no problems.

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 12:19

not drunk for a year so thinking a glass might be enough to bladder me lmao

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/07/2009 12:40

Glad you like the order Natty We thought you/DH would appreciate a bit of time off cooking, and tried to include a few treats as well. Just hope we got things you like!

Sputnik · 22/07/2009 13:09

Glad you like it Natty

ValDerRia · 22/07/2009 13:36

Natty.

I had the occassional glass when feeding baggins and he's a strapping healthy lad. It won't harm!

arse about your car situation daisy.

I have just been searching for some shoes I knew I'd bought for baggins in the hell hole cupboard under the stairs (they seems to fit) and I found a bag of xmas prezzies from last xmas. still waiting to be wrapped I'm ahead on stocking fillers already

after 2 days of full-on cleaining, an a clean hallway and kitchen, I've run out of motivation.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 14:23

lol ria, I also drink the occasional bottle glass and my DC are bright as buttons

Just called to make an appointment for DS1 at the docs; he has asthma and it never usually bothers him but he started coughing yesterday and wheezing really badly. Of course I'm worried about swine flu so though I'd better talk to the docs. the bloody receptionist was obviously being very hard of understanding as she purported not to know what a wheeze was????? I had to spell it out and I think she thinks I'm bonkers. she just said "oh do you want an appointment" ????? wtf. Is wheeze not a generally accepted english term then? is it only scottish asthmatics who wheeze?

anyhoo, I was concerned about taking him to the surgery incase it is SF, but she never gave me the option to have a phone consultation so it's off to the surgery we go.

ValDerRia · 22/07/2009 14:29

wheeze is a word as far as I'm concerned. did she think you said whizz? silly woman. is there a Torchwood-like place for the training of medical receptionists?

talking of regional words, Iwas wondering this morning, if "muck lather" was in general use, or is it just my family

oh, I'm bored, tired, hungry... DH has washed the car (because he was given a pressure washer) and is now hoovering it out. I was meant to be blitzing the living room, and writing my maths assessment today (already overdue), so I could watch Midsomers tonight. I can't be bothered.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 14:37

as someone has pointed out on my AIBU thread I referred to it as "a bad wheeze" rather than "he's wheezing badly" and that it might be a regional thing that she didn't understand, me being scotch and all.

in what context is muck lather used?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/07/2009 14:54

Tch, you'd think anyone would know what a bad wheeze was! Presumably it was in context, as in "I'm worried about my DS who's got a bad wheeze" or somthing similar? What kind of numpty was she?

It was cooking fun at the children's centre this morning. Jamlet rolled out some cookie dough and helped cut out some cookies, and we made a rice cake face, which made her very messy when she ate it! I had my camera with me and took pics but I was trying out RAW format pictures and can't seem to put them on FB until I've converted, and haven't had my lesson from DH in how to do that yet

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 22/07/2009 14:59

It was "my DS has asthma and he has been coughing since yesterday and has a bad wheeze" fairly obvious to me.

thankfully we have a computer check in so I don't need to go to the desk!!!

off to a BBQ afterwards (and the rain has just started )

laters xx

TheNatty · 22/07/2009 15:03

stupid woman fancy not knowing whst awheeze is...

im bored...

ValDerRia · 22/07/2009 18:21

"I'm all of a muck lather"

FrazzledFairyFay · 22/07/2009 19:02
