I am here barbs how very scary for you hope that you getto teh bottom of it.
daisy did you get a car seat sorted out ? I went and tried loads of 2/3 and dd1 was too small for all of them. Then we tried the Concord Evo lift PT and bingo as it has moving shoulder /neck/ protection she fitted- and far more comfy than the borrowed Graco one. I bought it there and then and of course then found out that I could have got it on the internet for £20 less- but the borrowed one had to go back today!
Still pretty crappy here in the west country but we are making out between storms...We were going to a huge country show today but gave up on that idea and good thing the Tv has shown it very soggy !
Great that on this pc I can finally highlight names........

chocolategal · 13/07/2009 15:06

Hey Rosa shame you aren't getting the best weather for your hols. I noticed halfords have a sale on carseats so I think we will have a trip there at the weekend.

We need a new thread title soon!!!!?????

LadyBuzz · 13/07/2009 16:29

Barbs how scary for you, hope W is better and you get some answers soon.

Daisy you go girl, I have a pile of stuff waiting to go on at the mo, just haven't got round to it yet!

Weather is crap oop North too Rosa, every time I leave the house it bloomin rains.
How long are you over for? Hopefully you will get a few nice days!

I keep trying to justify to DH that we need isofix seats but he says no point blank ah well!
I have had to turn J round though as I really wasn't happy with the rer facing fit in the new car, he is big enough so it is fine!

I've been on a mad cleaning spree today but don't seem to have got any further then dusting hey ho there is always tomorrow.... or the next day.....or even next week - I hate cleaning!

Hope everyone else is well.

Tegan your dress sounds lovely, hope you have a nice day!

juanitad · 13/07/2009 17:13

Hi all,

barbs, sounds v scary, hope W is ok and that you figure out what was causing it

Well, I have ordered a Baby Jogger City Mini........unfortunately there were none left at Kiddicare so have paid full price!! Hopefully it will be delivered by the end of the week, yay!

It was my first day back at work today.......and I really enjoyed it!! No doubt the novelty will wear off soon, but it was fab! I was so busy all day, it just flew by. And as I live close to work I came home at lunchtime to spend half an hour with P and scooted straight out of school at the end of the day so was home at 3.10!! All in all a very nice day, although come September I won't be able to see him at lunch time and won't be able to finish so early, but at least doing it like this eases me into it this week. Plus P is being looked after by my parents this week who have come to stay, so I know they are in good hands!

Lolabella, how was your first day back.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 19:56

Thanks Ceebee...I haven't received a VIP invitation until way too late to get any bargains in the last four Next Sales. Am of yours.....maybe it's done alphabetically?

juanitad · 13/07/2009 20:35

Fudge no, I teach secondary, I'm a languages teacher. But they aren't making me teach all of my lessons this week, I'm using the time to get things sorted and get back on track after all that lovely time off! Forgot to say earlier that I had coffee with Colin Jackson this afternoon! He was at an official opening of part of our school and I managed to blag my way into the headteacher's meet and greet with him. He was lovely, and soooooo good looking!

Yorky · 13/07/2009 20:35

Single mum for a fortnight has got off to a better start than I hoped for, both fed, bathed and asleep by 745, even remembered to feed next doors cat!
Washing up is glaring at me from the side of the sink though and I desperately need an earlier night than yesterday, although surely DD can't have two nights in a row as bad as last night, please!
Hope the poorly people are improving

ellielou02 · 13/07/2009 20:48

Hi Ladies Just back from my sisters wedding in formby, was very humid down there am back to crisp scottish air again lol, just away to catch up.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 21:54

fudge, there was £350 of prams in there, the clothes were going for average £1.50!!

Glad your first day back wasn't too bad jaunita, and at meeting Colin Jackson; he seems like an all round nice chap

Yorky, glad your day wasn't too bad either. I say leave the washing up till tomorrow and have your early night; I take sleep when I can find it these days as i never know when the next good night is coming...and talking of which, the young man slept from 8 till 4.30 last night! I'm under no illusion that he can repeat it tonight as he has already been up for another feed since going down at 7.30!

Rosa, we got the Britax Evolva in the end. I really like it; we put it in on the slight recline and I'm happy to leave it like that indefinately. DD likes the wee cup holders at the side, and i like the big wings that give her a comfy sleep. Bumble will be in his infant seat for a long time yet as his head is nowhere near the top of it.

I am feeling soooooo broody at the minute . I was just reminiscing that DD was 8months when I got pregnant with bumble, and a spring baby would be lovely! I am clearly suffering some sort of mental breakdown though.

LolaBella · 13/07/2009 22:07

Evening guys

Sounds like you had a lovely first day back indeed Juanitad. Coffee with Colin Jackson too . My first day went very well too. I had a lovely day catching up with everyone and no teaching either which was nice. Although i had to start the day with an inbox of 850 emails {shock]

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 22:31

yes barbs, thankfully it wasn't too bad so I was able to feed through it. My nipples are really sore though, I think his latch has changed since he got his teeth

barbareebaa · 13/07/2009 23:12

glad you're ok now daisy! Yep i can empathise with the sore nipples... also getting pinched/ nipped a lot at the mo - bruises on my boobs and bingo wings!

Rosa · 14/07/2009 14:26

We are here for a wee while yet so lots of time for summer to come back. Took Dd to the beach anyway in wellies and wind jacket she had a good run round / splash - opps filled the wellies with water on removing said
boats boots saw that her toes were a bit pink and checked size- opps guilty mums emotion she needs a new pair!
barbs glad you found a nice doctor.
juanitad congrats on going back to work and hope it stays good
daisy pleased that nips are getting better- mastitis cleared up now? As for being broody I confess to being a little bit as the 9mths is looming and that will mean she has been more out than in me !!!!!
Lola LOL 850 e mails sounds like me when I went back to work after dd1 some people even sent me snotty ones saying why haven't you replied despite an out of office e mail going automatically !
Yorky hang in there they days will fly past and well done at the 7.45 !

coolkat · 14/07/2009 14:39

Hi Ladies

Rosa hope you get some sunshine soon. We are coming down south although not all the way o cornwall next week! We are going to Burnham on sea! Need to sort clothes for cold, wet and warm and dry weather, Thanks goodness we have a roofbox!

DD1 is enjoying being off school, I was due back yest but I don't work the holidays so have gained an extra 7 weeks!

I am also very broody.. only thing stopping me is worry about my legs and hips, oh and being on a constant period

Barbs hope w ok now. I can sympathise with being pinched and pulled when feeding, think my boobs have hardened up a bit now!

Ceebee hope ds1 had good birthday.

Daisy well done on ebay selling.

Juanitad sounds like 1st days back are going well.

Sorry to all thise I have forgotten. X

tegan · 14/07/2009 20:59

Evening all

My manic week seems to be running quite smoothly so far.

O is doing fine, but still no teeth and i really must start to do some kind of sleep training as is seem to be cradling him for longer every evening.

3 of the local schools has had cases of swine flu now and they have even shut the secondary school.

The problem is they are all within half a mile of my house

PinkyMinxy · 14/07/2009 21:32

hello all

Mimi is ok, just sounds awful because she has a sore throat. SHe is bum shuffling about though- it's very funny

ceebee hope birthdya celebrations are going well.

barbs we have a fire escape plan- it is a very good idea (if a little morbid). We made it when the firemen came round to fit our smoke alarms. I remember getting in a bit of a tiz when DS was a baby and in his room at the other end of the house to us for the first time.

Hope days back at work have gone well for everyone.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/07/2009 22:12

Just a quickie this evening from me as I'm busy with my selling empire and trying to decide whether to become a lollipop nappy advisor....YORKY, HELP!!

There are five confimred cases of swine flu at DS's school including the friend of the boy whose house he was at this afternoon for a playdate . We got a letter home yesterday that said children had been sent home with 'flu like symptoms and containing the NHS guidance on basic hygiene etc. We were told at the children's centre this afternoon that there were three confirmed cases and given the same letter. No other information than that. DS1 is hoping that they close the school since there are only three days left.

Oh, and I think I have thrush now ....just when you think BFing is a breeze

Happy Birthday to DS1 Ceebee, hope you had a lovely day.

Yorky · 14/07/2009 22:38

Two days in a row and they are going to bed like stars (but not coming out at night, bad choice of simile) Must avoid feeling smug as will doubtless regret it violently tomorrow!

Oh Daisy, I don't know how you have managed to bf for so long as you seem to have alternated between thrush and mastitis for most of the last 8 months! I like lollipoping. Haven't made much money yet, but thats because of me not doing enough advertising etc. I also see chocolates as my proper business and nappies as a public service (and nice excuse for 'having' to get new ones to try!) I know when I tried to research washables online while pg with DS I was so confused and clueless - met a lovely lollipop lady who made it all seem simple then didn't buy from her as mw gave me loads of free bambino mio! Then met Lollipop lady at conference last September) so I'd like to help people not see cloth as scary and difficult.

3 cases of swine flu at DS nursery

We haven't got a fire escape plan but I need to get one sorted if I want OFSTED round - a couple of friends have mentioned they might be interested in me CMing their DC so might get paperwork sorted
