Can I join the 'moving' babies group? The Hamster can get from one side of the lounge to the other fairly quickly just by rolling over and over - tis his new trick For some reason, he keeps ending up by the television!! Today I caught him playing with a carrier bag that I thought was out of his reach Occasionally he gets stuck on his tummy and then screeches (extremely loudly) until someone rescues him - tis very annoying!!

chocolategal · 04/07/2009 22:05

I'm joining coolkat with life in the fast lane, I'm sat channel hopping between the madonna concert on sky 1 and the Queen concert on VH1! Lol

Pre DS I would just be getting ready to go out at this time on a Saturday night. Wouldn't change it though

well done to all the moving babies, E just slides backwards all over the place.

Oooh what's your frock like ellie?

barbareebaa · 04/07/2009 22:20

Evening!
Dh being a sound engineer tonight so am by my own(ish) boy sleep on lap - tea was chocolate for me but wilbur had chicken, a tomato and some broc
So check me out! I had a go at random bloke in the street today. Me and dh were walking to valley gardens when posh chap pulls up along side us in lovely open-top jag. in passenger seat was a beautiful wee boy - prob bout 10 months. So the bloke jumps out walks up the street to a shop and goes in leaving the wee one sitiing there in his carseat. Am like and . Me and dh walk off and I'm and decided to go back and wait for man. Dh is like 'Leave it' (eastenders style) but I couldn't as I couldn't believe someone would be so stupid. Can you believe he left his baby alone in an opentop car and went into a shop where he could not have seen the car or baby???? Anyhoo man comes out of shop and sees me standing there (dh and W safely on other side of the road ) The bloke smiles at me in a 'yeh - isn't he adorable' kind of way but I said 'How could you leave him?? How could you?' Man looked angry and said 'He's my child' Pah. Ijust shook my head (very judgey )

So was IBU? Couldn't help myself. Couldn't leave child there by itself. Hormones? Am extremely sensitive to any news relating to children/ babies these days, easily cry 'bout that stuff.

ellielou02 · 04/07/2009 23:13

barbs definately not if you had walked away you would still be wondering if the little boy was ok so I think you did the right thing.
chocgal Its lovely, white background with pink * purple flowers, got it from ethel austin for £12 so pretty pleased

AFingerofFudge · 05/07/2009 00:00

Hi all
Very quick message, if it gets sent that is, as broadband is playing up.
Back from Ireland this evening. Had faaaaab time, lots of beaches, sun, thunderstorms, drink, craic (as they say), food (dieting tomorrow), and fun. Really really wanted to stay longer, it went so fast. M was really happy and loved the 2 little dogs at my cousins house where we stayed.
Will tell more tomorrow if you can stand it. Glad I missed the real heat, have only skimmed so probably missed lots of news, but hope everyone is fine xxxx

LackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2009 09:03

barbs, I think I would have hung around to make sure the LO was fine as well, but probably wouldn't have said anything to the man as I'm too much of a coward to get involved...but I would have been bursting to say something though!!!!

I would be less worried about anyone taking the baby than another car hitting the parked car though.

Sounds like a "craicing" holiday fudge

My two lovely littler children let us have a lie in until 7.45 this morning....I can almost fogive bumble for being up twice last night.

We are off swimmimg this morning; bumble has only been once before when we went to CP in Feb, so it will be a new experience for him all over again.

twinklingfairy · 05/07/2009 11:06

ah, sure daisy after your run in with the poodle man, you are not that nervous anymore?

LackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2009 19:35

lol twinkling....I haven't seen poodle man since our last altercation; maybe I've scared him into taking a different route to the paper shop?

I'm glad you like the nappies. DH said the softees are like a skinned teddy bear

I have a horrible sore throat/earache and am really achey around my shoulders and down into my arms

And DH has another nasty bout of cellulitis; around an insect bite on his hip this time. I have drawn round it and we'll see how far it has progressed by the morning.

We are a happy household here this evening!!

Nursey types, is there anything he can do about it/take to ward it off, or is he doomed to recurrent cellulitis after each insect bite from here on in? He is feeling very miserable about it at the minute.

LolaBella · 05/07/2009 20:21

Barbs what a stupid man . I think you did right in saying something, even if he was a bit arsey, it might make him think before doing it again.

Can we join moving baby camp too. O has just on Thurs started commando crawling . On Thurs he could move forward about a foot, today all over the kitchen. Oh dear God!!

3 weeks today till wedding. Slight problem. I had first dress fitting last week however, when i got measured for my dress i was breastfeeding and we had to 'guess' what size i might be as i was intending to stop. I have now finished completely bf for about 4 weeks but (.)(.) still a little bigger than pre-pregnancy and therefore look a bit like busty laroo in wedding dress! I'v been on diet all week and am going for another fitting tomorrow. Fingers crossed it fits a little better.

chocolategal · 05/07/2009 20:46

Evening

everyone enjoy the tennis?
Holiday sounds nice fudge, welcome home
barbs, I agree what a silly man!
Daisy, I'm not sure if there is anything except from getting some antibiotics on board quickly that will keep the cellulitis mild. Hope it hasn't spread too much by tomorrow.
Hi Lolabella, I'm sure you look fab in your dress, goodluck with next fitting.

twinklingfairy · 05/07/2009 21:45

Most people would kill for bigger (.)(.)s
teehee!!
I am sure you will look lovely lola.
I was actually disappointed to not be so booby in my dress, I felt they were a little squished.
But my mum made my dress so I didn't fuss, cos that was the more important bit. And I could hardly say, mum I want to look a bit more booby and sexy on my wedding day

So jealous, I want to do my day all over again!
My sis is getting married next year. I will have to enjoy it all again, through hers.

Yorky · 05/07/2009 22:10

to lola, agree completely that bigger boobs won't cause much problem on the day, enjoy!

Barbs, have I missed something - hormones? I think you did the right thing anyway, I try to go out in an evening to put petrol in so I don't leave DC in car to pay, and certainly wouldn't nip into shop without them.

of your holiday fudge, although we've just been invited for a weekend in Devon in September

Hope DH leg not too bad in the morning daisy, don't think I'll be able to meet up next week , DH was supposed to be on leave all week but now only 2 days

barbareebaa · 05/07/2009 22:49

PinkyMinxy · 05/07/2009 23:17

Helloo

Fudge Holiday sounds fab.

Barbs how exciting, to be moving into yuor new home! I don't think you went over the top, I would have waited for him to come out, too, and may well have said something if feeling confident.

Twinks hope the puter is ok!

Dasiy sound slike you and your DH are in the wars.

Much excitment here this weekend as DS got his first Hotwheeels set- they were selling them cheap in Aldi. he has had such a fab school report, and his bday money fron PIL still not spent, that we decided he deserved a treat. He was fit to pop on the shop and has told eveyone he's met this wekend about it!

Oblomov what a clever boy! Mimi is certainly looking keen to be on the move, but still not really there yet, not much rolling either, but loves sitting up.

Yorky what a shame we won't see you next week.

What dau are we meeting- is it wednesday?

Hope everyone has had good weekends.

LadyBuzz · 06/07/2009 09:09

Morning everyone.

Hope everyone has had a fab weekend.

J can also move but i'm not sure quite how, he seems to get where he wants but I can never work out exactly how he has done it!

Well I got my new car on Saturday and I have to say I actually love it, its so nice to drive and has bags and bags of space for storage and baby stuff.
I'm going away with my aunty in September and I have no doubt that everything will fit in .

I'm looking forward to giving it a good road test on wednesday! It is THIS wednesday isn't it?

LadyBuzz · 06/07/2009 09:11

Oops pressed post by accident

Lola i'm sure you will look fab and as twinkling says there is nothing wrong with being a little 'booby' on your wedding day

Daisy hopeyou and DH are better this morning.

Barbs I don't think you were OTT at all - silly man!

Oblomov · 06/07/2009 11:39

Lola, hope fittings go o.k. I was 3 mths pg with ds1 on our wedding day. And kept having to have my dress expanded to allow for my enormous bazookas. No complaints from dh, let me tell you - don't worry, it will be fine.

Ceebee74 · 06/07/2009 13:21

Just a quickie as I haven't got much time - Pinky, it is this Wednesday (8th) that we are meeting - is that still ok?

Oops

juanitad · 06/07/2009 14:13

barbs, am shocked by what that man did, especially as it was an open-top car. Anyone could have come and abducted the little lad. I so think you did the right thing to say something. What a horrid man.

lolabella, am sure you will look gorgeous on your wedding day. Are you excited about it? Hope you have a fab time.

I have just got back from my first night away from P. DH and I decided a few months ago that it would be nice if we could have a night away before I go back to work, so we stayed in a hotel in Newcastle last night while P was being looked after by my mum and dad. We had such a fab time, it was great! And get this, we were eating dinner at a table opposite Sol Campbell!! Rumour has it he is going to be playing for Newcastle United next season. Mum and Dad survived looking after P, thank goodness. They had do use the hairdryer to get him off to sleep, but he did at least sleep! Mum was up with him for about an hour and a half overnight which actually isn't too bad for him. They are still smiling today anyway and are willing to look after him again so we are researching our next destination!!

Hope everyone else is well.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/07/2009 16:48

and once again for those that missed it Ceebee.....is it this Wednesday?

I have flu . I am aching from head to toe (literally...how is it possible to have aching hair??? and toes???) and have the most godawful earache and feeling sick as well as the sore throat today. Had to call DH home from work as I was nodding off on the sofa when a friend was over this afternoon (how rude) and wasn't fit to be in charge of the children. Been back to bed for an hour or so though and feel a bit better.

Anhoo, if I still feel ropey then I doubt I'll make Wednesday

night away sounds blissful juanita and glad your folks coped....are you sure they were still smiling though and not giving you a clenched teeth grin

New house sounds lovely barbs, as does being woken up by W like that...so far I just get rudely awoken by various children howling!

Aw, sorry you can't make it on Wednesday Yorky.

Right, need to relieve DH for a bit; he has been to the docs for more antibiotics and is worried about the effect three lots of ABs in a month is having on his system. We are the house of good cheer this afternoon

ellielou02 · 06/07/2009 17:40

Hi all,
I sympathise with you daisy am having similar symptoms, I phoned dr as have my sisters wedding on sun, and have been swabbed and given tamiflu just in case also told to stay in for 5 days
jaunitad sounds bliss I would love a night away me and Dh
ladybuzz glad the car is nice.
Will be back later

LackaDAISYcal · 06/07/2009 17:51

My friend laughed that it might be swine flu.....should I take that seriously?
