good news on the (lack of) swine flu tegan. Maybe go back for the one day and see how it goes? You can always change your mind and if you don't go back and change your mind it'll be harder to get back into it on such good terms I imagine!

Pinky...I love you . DD is sooo knackered and just wouldn't go to sleep earlier and was screaming the house down and getting hysterical. so, I gave her "your" blanket to cuddle and said "L's mummy made this for you, remember Pinky from yesterday?" and she calmed right down, said yes, cuddled it and went straight to sleep

One down, two to go.......

LackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2009 16:11

blimey, it's quiet here today

winogal · 09/07/2009 16:27

Hi all. Thanks so much for warm welcome! Am much comforted that a number of you still have hair falling out too, but will see the GP anyway, as with my other symptoms, am paranoid that have early menopause! Still no return of AF, but have put that down to b/feeding (although only twice a day now, with v little volume). DS2 was born Nov 13, also have DS1 who is 2.5. Great fun, but knackering!

PinkyMinxy · 09/07/2009 18:05

Hi Winogal hope yyou get positive news from GP. My hair is still falling out a bit but I have a bit of a thatch going on so nit really a`n issue.

Daisy hello sweetie hope you have had a restful day, and glad the blankie helps!

Mr -or should I say Mrs Camel is fine. SHe has also been to Ikea today, and next to the london Taxi is a firm favourite!

I am soo pleased- I just phoned the Trafford Centre and they have Mimi's Noonoo and wooden chain. I was really quite upset about losing that as I bought when she was just a bump, from the Eden Project, and it's kind of like her teddy. Am over the moon to be getting it back

PinkyMinxy · 09/07/2009 18:12

haha not really an issue.. oh I'm feeling all ithcy now!

londonboots · 09/07/2009 20:14

hi all! gosh, has been so long since since i've written but have been lurking. the weeks just fly by now i'm back at work...M is 8 months! yikes! 2 teeth through, 2 coming very soon, this >< close to crawling, not sleeping through (yawn), loads of laughs and just so sweet! work and nursery both still good/ok.

glad you all had a nice meet up - one day I hope to meet some of you in RL!

got to buy a travel cot and a lightweight stroller...any recommendations? choco how's the baby jogger going?? who has a maclaren and which model is best? they all look the same to me...although to be honest, just too lazy to do the research! i just want something that has a flat/almost flat recline and folds up small!

hi to everyone else and winogal!

hope everyone is getting into the cricket (although today not so good...) - am desperate for a big England win!

Ceebee74 · 09/07/2009 20:19

Pinky that is fantastic news about the Noonoo

Londonboots aren't you an Aussie or is your loyalty with your employers ?? No advice about pushchairs - I am a pushchair ignoramus tbh and I just can't get excited about them!

Daisy hope your day improved and the children were less grumpy after their naps.

Took the Hamster swimming today for the first time just me and him - he loved it (and it stopped the constant screeching/grumpiness for a while!) and I feel guilty that I have been too lazy to bother taking him before

londonboots · 09/07/2009 20:49

LOL ceebee - yes, it's loyalty but also my job will be MUCH easier if England win!

PinkyMinxy · 09/07/2009 20:51

Oh that's great about the swimming, ceebee. DH takes the other two swimming on a sunday but I'm always putting the mountain of laundry away. I might try to get it done first thing this weekend and take Mimi swimming as she hasn't been yet- though she likes deep baths!

Hi londonboots glad all is well. I.'ve had a Micralite which has been fab but the recline not so good. Don't like maclarens at all, but everyone raves about the Techno I think, but I also think that's the heaviest one- so I don't know really . I have a Bee which I love- it folds flat but not ultra compact.

Right back to the decorating. Am painting toy cupboard bright banana yellow it looks fab!

ChocOrange05 · 09/07/2009 21:16

Just a quickie londonboots the jogger is fab but I am still a bit that I can't see M all the time when we are out in the pram. If they made a rear facing jogger it would be perfect!!

LackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2009 21:21

yay for NooNoo

hey londonboots . I forget that you aren't on here since I see you over scrabble.

I loved the double version of the city mini and think the single would be even fabbier. not sure how small it folds though, you deffo need ChocO for that.

gah pinky, I'm scratching now

DC are not long in bed again; last night has thrown our routine completeley. bumble is coming down with the lurgy as well i think; he has been really pukey today and very flat. he was just sitting cuddling into DH after teatime; not like him at all.

Yorky · 09/07/2009 23:10

Hello all, glad the meet up went well yesterday, but daisy, what a nightmare on the M62. Fingers crossed for next Saturday when we're going to my nephew's first birthday gathering. DB is quite honest and open about the fact that it is more for the parents than the birthday boy, but a good excuse for a takeaway and a glass of something!

How lovely to be getting the toy back Pinky, I always feel a bit better about society when something like that happens as a change from all the bad stuff in the news.

barb, I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling hormonal, yet still contemplating another baby. AF has been a couple of times but very irregularly unlike after DS when they came back late but started straight back in as if they'd never been away! Haven't done anything about contraception, then on a bad day say to DH in the evening, must make an appt.... to which he helpfully says, its up to you dear!

Londonboots, I have agraco mosaic which fits behind all the seats in our zafira, and DDs baby car seat clipped onto it even though we bought it with a different travel system. It reclines, but not sure I'd want it as my only buggy though.

Interesting what you're all saying about dwindling milk supplies, DD hasn't been sleeping well this week, she was sick on Monday? night but been fine since, but is waking every 2-3hrs every night DH wants to move her to the spare room, but if she's going to wake I don't want her too far for me to go to. (sleepy/lazy emoticon) And hairloss as well, when I wash my hair in the shower its like being caught in a spider's web!

Had a lovely birthday though, DH took DD after a 530 feed and I slept till 930! Then found a media request about homebirths on another mummy site and have spent all evening typing out my birth stories in glorious minute detail! I've even included a link to DDs birth thread! really glad I found the incentive to write it out for them. Am about to send DH a link to the birth thread at work so he can print it out for her baby souvenirs box!

sorry to anyone I missed

LadyBuzz · 10/07/2009 08:43

Morning,
Yorky that sounds lovely with your birth story, what a lovely reminder for you!

Pinky glad you found the noonoo

Ceebee swimming sounds lovely, I really must take J soon, DS1 loved it at his age and J hasnever been everything is just so much harder with 2!

Daisy how are your lo's today?

Londonboots good to see you, The Maclaren techno is big and quite heavy but I think the quest is a bit smaller and reclines - my sil has one and loves it!
I have an M&P zoom which is also big and heavy and I have had a few problems with little bits breaking but on the up side it has a wide seat which accomodates my chunky babies!

Hope everyone esle is well, It is beautiful here today so we are off the my auntys in the country for a walk!

chocolategal · 10/07/2009 09:10

Morning everyone

londonboots mamas and papas kato buggy looks like it folds small and lies flat, it is also in the sale for £60 just now. I am waiting until I go back to work and am going to buy the baby jogger mini.

Glad you are swine flu free ellie have a fab time at wedding

Nice that the meet up went well, lovely seeing how all the babies are getting on.

We have now been refered to dermatology for E's skin, I feel the only way I can get on top of it is by using hydrocortisone which I don't want to rely on so much.

Hi to all, back later DS needing his nap!!

coolkat · 10/07/2009 11:08

Morning
Becca not very well, I took her doc's this morning and I have to take he back again later to see if they decide to give antibiotics

I need to do some jobs but can't be arsed am tired after bad night!

Londonboots, I to have the Baby city mini jogger, I would sooner have this than the maclaren. It reclines well, basket bigger than it looks, fab hood sunshade. The downside is can't see baby but that's the same with most strollers. Kiddicare may have some left for £129.99 as I paid £160 for mine Smooth ride though for a buggy!

I have only taken Becca swimming once at Centre parcs, she hated it and does not like baths!

Must get on!

coolkat · 10/07/2009 20:06

COOLKAT KILLED THE THREAD

chocolategal · 10/07/2009 20:32

Hey coolkat
where is everyone???????

LackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2009 20:51

lol coolkat, I'm here....been busy with ebay and nappies this evening and I was out and about all day.

how is becca now? I hope she is better

Bumble is teething again I think, or else has my throat lurgy as he has been really miserable this evening and had to be dosed with calpol before bed.

Sports day at school today...I was persuaded to run in the mum's race but came fourth out of 8 so not too bad I thought, considering there were much younger and slimmer mums running!!!

chocolategal · 10/07/2009 21:09

Lol Daisy, sports day sounds fun. Hope bumble is ok overnight for you. I had to give DS calpol last night as this 4th tooth is really bothering him.

My trial pack of cloth nappys is ordered, am looking forward to trying them.
Once I've decided which ones I like how many do you normally need? I've been looking on the boards here and some ladies have over 20! I was thinking 10-12 would be enough!?!?

Ceebee74 · 10/07/2009 21:19

Evening all

Daisy well done on the sports day

Coolkat hope Becca is better

Spoke to my GP yesterday about my gallbladder scan results - agreed that I am going to have it taken out. Got a telephone call from the surgery today to book me into a hospital and I am getting it done at a private hospital but the NHS are paying (no idea how that works but who cares??) Have just had a look at the website for the hospital and it looks like a hotel lol - am I wrong to be quite looking forward to spending the night there?? Got my consultants appointment at the beginning of August and then no idea what the waiting list is from then.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2009 21:43

choc if you have 15 then that gives you enough to be washing every third day. Obviously the fewer you have the more you need to be washing.

I like pocket nappies as you can have a smaller amount of the quick drying outers, but more of the inserts. I've got about ten nappies on the go at the minute and wash every other day. I don't use cloth at night though.

It can get a bit addictive though and there are lots of funky designs out there which folks feel the need to have

ceebee...I just got up to get another glass of wine and my legs buckled under me and my hips and thighs ache.....maybe racing not such a good idea after all

anyone watching Torchwood? It's bloody brilliant, but very very chilling.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2009 21:49

oh and good news about the gallbaldder op. The NHS do that to cut waiting lists as them paying for the ops privately costs less then the penalties imposed on the trusts by the govt for not meeting targets....or so I was led to believe!!

I was looking forward to the night off as well, but it wasn't much of a holiday....the food was fab but I was too doped up on morphine to eat it, then I had one mouthful and threw up everywhere......the bed was comfy though, and I pilfered brought home the lovely neutrogena toiletries from the en-suite toilet . I wasn't too convinced by the carpets in the room though; didn't strike me as terribly hygenic or easy to clean for a hospital room

chocolategal · 10/07/2009 21:56

Thanks daisy, the pocket ones are like the itti bitti d'lish? I'm very new to this!
Hope the aches ease by tomorrow. No Torchwood for me, I'm watching criminal minds.

Good news ceebee on the op, I would think you wouldn't be waiting long.
The private hospital near us isn't that fancy so hope you get a swanky one! Although like daisy says you might not fully appreciate it!

LackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2009 22:08

noooo, itti bitti are snap all-in-ones or all-in-two's. fuzzibunz, bumgenius, wonderoos etc are pockets.

confused?.....you will be!!

Yorky · 10/07/2009 22:34

HELP! DD is being a pain at bedtimes, and all yesterday evening. She was better this evening but has been kicking off for the last half hour DH went up to settle her and she was looking for me. I went and took her and she went quiet in a couple of minutes - not looking for the boob, just me. I kind of like it but he is talking of having to break her of it. It sounds so vicious. He also wants her out of our room, we had an argument about it at 1am this morning when he got in drunk and I was feeding her. I don't know if its teeth or what, there's no temperature. Is she just a clingy baby?
