Kayzr · 14/04/2009 17:38

Lol, thanks for new thread Effie.

tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 17:39

Lol, hope everyone finds us!

Yooohoooo, we're over here!

EffiePerine · 14/04/2009 17:41

not implying we are basket cases, but I wanted to get the WMD basket thing in somewhere!

House is all ready to go, signing lease on Friday and prob moving in the next couple of weeks

DH is away today and tomorrow, and am feeling grotty so have spent all afternoon on the sofabed with the DSs watching Fireman Sam. Early night for me.

Verso: is your DH home and have you restrained yourself from throwing a frying pan at him? My Grandpa once came home and opened the door only to find that an iron came sailing out.. he turned round and went to the pub!

ARGHHHH!!!

Just got snotty message on FB from BIL asking when I was going to get a job! Urm I have a job but I am on maternity leave!!!

tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2009 17:54

Lol effie, that reminds me of a story about my nan who threw grandad's tea in the bin because he ventured an opinion about raising their dcs, he never did it again!

spotofcheerfulness · 14/04/2009 17:56

How exciting, Effie - really pleased for you . And, top news about your DH, Kayz.
Don't want to jinx anything, but......no poo since this morning!

Veggiemummy · 14/04/2009 18:55

HOORAY that's fantastic!!!! Is it the railways job? If it is can he get railway stuff for my DS1. I'm happy he has a job but a little dissapointed as I was going to suggest you could try getting him a job with another car company like I don't know Toyota for instance, the fact that they are based just outside Derby has nothing to do with it.

Sorry Spot I did the White light for your health will do it for everyones sleep tonight how is that.

Love the thread title Effie. Verso I have some cast iron frypans if you want one

Lady I always love your posts but I think that was a little over the top

Kayz WTF about your BIL what is he on????

Arti how is your back? Hope the school thing works out. We have ds1 at a Montessori nursery that starts as a primary school up to 12 this September it is quite handy as we will eventually go home soon we are just going to leave him there until we leave so don't have to go through the whole stressful school thing.

We had some friends up from London for a visit today which was lovely we me them through the NCT so their DD is DS1's age and one of his first friends. He loved seeing her again and we loved seeing them. Luckily the weather held out long enough for bouncy castles and Donkey rides at Markeaton park.

spotofcheerfulness · 14/04/2009 18:58

Cheers, Veg .

Veggiemummy · 14/04/2009 18:59

Oh and hooray spot for no poo.

Trace that camp out sounds so cute. I told DH and he wants to fish out our old macpac 2 man tent so he and Ds1 can have a little sleep out.

JB I completely forgot to get the camera out unil you and ZJ had left.

Veggiemummy · 14/04/2009 19:06

Oh I'm so happy today DS1 ate some whole visibly obvious jackets potato bits and for dinner he ate carrots and broccoli which were not hidden in his food. So in the past week he has added mash & jacket potato, cauliflower, broc and carrots to his list of things he will eat. This may seem nothing to the first timers but in a de years you may understand (though actually I hope you never have too)

JollyBear · 14/04/2009 19:54

When I saw we had a new thread I thought good grief what a chatty afternoon for the Dec ladies, I laughed my socks off when I saw that ladyT broke the thread!

spot Re teething, before DD's teeth came through she had about five massive screaming fits when she tried to feed as the pressure from sucking must have hurt her gums. She still cries sometimes when feeding (as demonstrated in York ), but it seemed to get better once the teeth arrived. To be honest it is a bit off and on, some days she is her usually sunny self. For the bad days I got some Dentinox gel recently (recomended by Verso) which seems to help. Great news on the poo front, fingers crossed he is over the worst.

effie Great news on the house. Love the iron story! My mum once heard scratching at the front door and found my Dad lying on the ground heavily intoxicated (he'd been out on a work Christmas do) with a thick covering of freshly fallen snow on his back. No idea how long he'd been there for! Not sure why your story reminded me of that but there you go!

kayz Hurray for your DH's job!

veggie Good news on the vegetables. Never mind about the photos, I felt I'd better leave the pub as DD was revving up! We'll have to all meet again .

sybilfaulty · 14/04/2009 19:58

Can we club together abd buy Lady T a new phone?

Bookmarking for later but LOVING the thread title!

katie3677 · 14/04/2009 20:30

Phew, found you! Sorry I haven't been on for a while, things have been a bit busy round here for the last week. It was DS's 4th birthday on Thursday so DH took the day off and we took him to Ludlow Castle. It was very cold and wet, but we had a lovely time. Then had birthday party on Saturday which was lovely and sunny but really quite knackering as these things are. Then my sister, who lives in Zambia, came down with quite bad malaria which was a bit of a worry. Then of course we had the Easter festivities and then yesterday I came down with some horrible lurgy. It feels like the 'flu but I have (just about) managed to make it out of bed a couple of times, so probably just a virus. DH worked from home today so that I wouldn't have to deal with the kids on my own, but has to go in tomorrow, so I really hope I'm feeling better. I've also got DD's Christening on Sunday which I need to get organised for, and I also have a proposal to write for a potential new client by the end of the week, argh!
My kitchen is still not finished, although it is nearly there, just all the painting and tiling to do now.

Kayz great news on DH's job, that must be such a relief, and re your BIL's FB message!

Verso, can understand you being angry with your DH. How is it that if men have so much of a sniffle then they think it's ok to take to their beds and do FA, whilst we have to literally be on our death beds before we're allowed time off. Believe me, I've had some nasty comments today.

at LadyT breaking the last thread

Veggie great news about the veggies! Having been quite a good eater, DS is now refusing to eat most of the food he used to love. Not quite sure what to do about it except persevere (how do you spell that?!) of course. And please can you do white light to make me better? My sister has always had a bit of a reputation as a white witch, she was able to cure warts anyway!

Right, my feverish mind can't concentrate any longer so off to bed to try and nip it in the bud.

Hope everyone has good nights x

katie3677 · 14/04/2009 20:35

Oh, and Trace on the sleeping front. DD has slept through since 3 months (sorry to those of you still having wakeful nights) but it makes absolutely no difference how much she sleeps during the day. She usually has 5 or 6 1/2 an hour to one hour naps a day, sometimes more. Then goes to bed at 7.30 and usually sleeps through until 8.30 ish. I know I am incredibly lucky, but I honestly believe that they all have their own patterns and it will all sort itself out eventually.

Veggiemummy · 14/04/2009 20:43

I hope Ladys phone company doesn't charge per posting

JB I'd quite like to come up to York again. We all loved the train ride (though for about 15mins ds2 didn't and neither did those around us) and also saw a pamphlet at the tourist info about a place called DIG which looked fun.

Lady I used to be like your DP and get stressed if I thought ds1 was bothering other people but then realized that it didn't stop the situation he would still be upset and making noise if I was stressed about it or not. Now I just concentrate on him (or the other one) and other people can just deal with it. That saves a lot of stress. Also sometimes when the don't normally kick off it makes it harder when they do.

Some funny toddler talk ds1 asked yesterday what happened to ds2's teeth, he wanted to know if they had fallen out.

With teething on days when ds1 had it really bad when later teeth were coming through we used chamomilla & pulsitilla 200c and calpol and ibuprofen. The first 2 tend to have a fairly instant effect and the 2nd 2 really knocked it on the head & let him sleep.

Veggiemummy · 14/04/2009 21:26

Hey JB where did you say you got your mac that you wore to the meet up from???? (sorry for terrible grammar)

traceface · 14/04/2009 21:41

love the new title Effie! veggie are you still intending changing your name? I keep logging on in anticipation of a new one but you're still here...!
P has fed 3 hourly all day today (I see our bunny faces have been taken away) - lets hope it's the start of the new P! She went down beautifully at 7 so we'll see what the night holds! Am feeling much more positive than last night - sorry for my whinge . And we had a Chinese tonight which always helps .
LadyT hope all your social engagements have been fun today - and thanks for all the messages!!!
am off to bed now.
nightnight xxx

traceface · 14/04/2009 21:43

oh and effie I forgot to say Thank you for the sleep reassurance - I had a look at that link and was reading for ages. Thanks

JollyBear · 14/04/2009 22:00

trace Hurray for 3 hour feeds, hope this is the start of something good . Night night.

veggie Good philosophy on the screaming in public thing. I always feel like everyone is watching and tutting but hey ho, worrying doesn't make her stop crying! Let us know if you are heading back ooop north.

My cheery mac is from Next! here. I got the biggest size so when DD is in her sling she can keep dry too.

Night all.

pmk1 · 15/04/2009 00:28

Will catch up tomorrow but just had to say I laughed so hard at your posts LadyT!
there are tears streaming!! Priceless.....

Great news Kayz

Verso · 15/04/2009 03:14

Hello, everyone, and hurrah for Mr Kayz! Great news!

I second the plan to get LadyT a new phone. I saw the end of the thread and wondered what on earth she was going "oh no" about... then worked my way back and saw.

I was a bit unfair yesterday about DH and his cold. The thing is, he DID just have a cold - but it's unfair of me to be unsympathetic, because his immune system is compromised with the MS so of course it does affect him genuinely more badly than it would most other people. I was feeling very scared, angry, worried, upset yesterday, and wasn't very fair. The thing is, with RRMS you're always wondering when the next relapse will come, and whether that will be "the" one that takes away what's left of your mobility. When he couldn't walk at all we both got very very frightened.

Best way I can explain it is when a parent is out of their mind with worry about a child who has gone missing - then the child turns up completely safe - and the parent gets angry "don't you EVER do that to me again", IYSWIM?

I hope you won't judge me too harshly .

Not having such a good night tonight, sleepwise. trace and syb and everyone else with sleep troubles of late I hope things are better for you!

tillyfernackerpants · 15/04/2009 06:52

verso I'm sure noone on here is judging you. Two of our close friends have MS so have seen them & their family go through the exact same emotions, as someone said on the thread we're here for you to rant and rave away. Remember the basket .

trace yay for 3hr feeds, how was last night?

Am a bit with dh. He put the boys to bed last night so I could go to WW. Ds2 started to get a bit upset at 3.30am so went in & he didn't have any covers on! Given that he's in a sleeping bag its only dh that could have not put him in it. I just don't know what he was thinking, I know its been warm but not that warm! Dh is always panicking that the boys are going to be too hot but just ends up making them cold!

EffiePerine · 15/04/2009 07:15

Grrr at your DH Tilly. DH used to do the opposite, he'd put DS2 in his grobag with full pjs and socks on a warm night...

Bit of an unsettled night chez Perine, I was feeling sick and achy and I think DS2 was suffering as well, took hi ages to get to sleep and then woke a fair amount (brought him in with me at 3). DH was away so we had plenty of room! Does anyone else find their LO feeds loads when they are a bit ill?I thin it'ssometing to do with swapping antibodies. Anyway he's asleep now!

Did you have a better night Trace? Yay for three hour feeds

poisondwarf · 15/04/2009 07:51

Morning all,

Sounds like a lot of us had good days yesterday, so hurrah! for kayz and her DH, Effie & her house, spot and her impeccable nappies, Veggie and her incredible veg-eating toddler and trace on her slick new & improved (let's hope) feeding regime. I would suggest a virtual Mexican wave but I fear LadyT might join in on her dodgy phone & we'd be here all day...

katie & Effie hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Verso you've got so much on your plate at the moment, how could any of us possibly judge you for letting off a little steam now and again?

Been feeling very low in energy and a bit of a misery guts the last few days, so I am off for a swim now to try and knock myself back into shape a bit.

EffiePerine · 15/04/2009 07:54

oh and we have a moving date: next Wednesday . No idea how we will manage it in time, looks like it'll be a busy week...
