Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

sausage My DH reacts like that, in that I am always saying that I do not live in his Black and White world. I say something and he says, so is that how you have felt for da da da many years?
No, of course not, just how I feel right now
But you just said....
and so on.
Does that make sense

AFingerofFudge · 22/04/2009 08:02

Morning all, am going to bed faaaaar too late so despite no interruptions from M, raising my head off the pillow at 7am to get ready for school felt so wrong! Me and DH have been doing a bit of "bonding" time in the evenings (no, not THAT!!!) as otherwise we spend most of the evenings ignoring each other and doing our own things, then suddenly realize we've gone the week without speaking to each other. Anyway, have suddenly got into Big Brain Academy on the Wii. It's about as competitive as I get, and DH is hugely competitive. It's actually good for us, if we do something like this for a while in the evenings, we seem to get on so much better.

rutho get well soon, and by the sounds of it, get rid of that highchair. Tell MIL that one of the legs fell off or something. There's nothing worse than manky straps.
lacks good luck with your acting debuts. If they're doing any boob close ups, but a bit of foundation on the blotchy bits (sorry, that's making a terrible assumption that your boobs are as blotchy as mine}
chocolategal pleased for you on the doctors visit

Someone asked about which bugaboo I have. It's the frog. Think I'm going to experiment with putting the child seat on but from the looks of it, it's a right faff.

Ok, gtg, still have to wake M up and feed him, and find school books, oh, and DS2's only surviving school jumper, and have my breakfast, and straighten my hair, and yikes....leave in half an hour. yeah right.

Ceebee74 · 22/04/2009 08:50

Morning all - tis a lovely morning here. So much more pleasant to walk DS1 to nursery on mornings like this

Daisy woohoo on the acting I bet you will both be great - and if Bumble smiles as much as he did on Monday, he will just be perfect!!

Fudge am tired just looking at your list of things to do before you leave the house Am having a lazy day today - no exercise and no plans

Rutho how you feeling today?

DS1 got up 3 times last night (aagh!) after 2 nights of not getting up at all....so frustrating. The second time, he ran into my bedroom and announced he wanted some sandwiches Not sure if he was still half asleep as when I told him no, he went back to bed without a fight....very strange for a boy who never asks for food unless it is chocolate and has not been hungry in the night since he was about a month old

Then to top it off, Sam decided to start his day at 6.15 - definitely need a nap this afternoon

Pinkglow · 22/04/2009 08:54

no way can I catch up as I have been in Bristol. Hope the northern meet up went well though.

weaning not in the slightest bit interested here. My DH keeps putting food in front of him to see if he will grap it but he doesnt even look at it. Plus pushes the bit I have tried him on out of his mouth. As well I have all the purees frozen in the fridge ready although at this rate he'll be starting on finger food.

I love big brain acadamy - my brother has lent us his Wii for 6 months (in exchange for DHs XBOX) so we are loving that. Im hoping DH will love it so much he will sell his XBOX for one once the 6 months are up.

coolkat · 22/04/2009 09:00

Morning ladies

Booootiful day in he midlands, painted my toes so we have sandals and are raring to go!!

On Pinky where did you get them beautiful beads DD2 had on on Monday? I think I wold like to get Becca some for the pushchair

serendippity · 22/04/2009 09:59

Hi all
i hope those of you that went had a great time at the meet up, I wish we could have come!

*daisy- Oooh that's brilliant, you are going to be famous! I can't believe dd's doing so well with the pott as well!

rutho feel better soon

pinky it's fab your lo is rolling. I wish Dylan would hurry up and join in!

Dylan tried mashed potato yesterday and luuurved it! I pureed some, them pureed some carrt and mixed a little together. I've frozen it for when he's a little older. He's one of the youngest i think at only 5 months, so I'm taking it very steady.

check this out

I was apalled by this yesterday! So felt horrid all day.
then this morning kicked off badley when i got stuck in a skirt just before the school run. Seriously. Chucked it on, realized it was creased went to take it off to iron it..and nothing. Zip would not budge. It took dp and a pair of plyers to get me out in the end! We have no idea why the zip jammed either. Perfect start
Dylan ok tho, slept until 6.50am from 6.30pm last night. I think his teeth are really trying to make an appearance now, his cheeks are always so red poor thing. He's chirpy enough tho, lots of smiles and squeels

Catch up later! x

chocolategal · 22/04/2009 10:37

Morning

Aww serendippity sorry you were made to feel like that. I think we all know that bf is best but it is not for everyone and when it doesn't work out we shouldn't be made to justify ourselves to anyone especially complete strangers! Stick with the lovely ladies on here.

Lovely day here, feeling tired today DS was up for an hour overnight crying, didn't want milk ended up changing sleeping bags incase he was hot and then he eventually settled.

Hope you got all those to do's done fudge
yay to daisy & bumble for the video

Hi to everyone, catch up later

5inthebed · 22/04/2009 11:57

Serendippity thats awful. Some mothers are so unbelievably anal about BF vs FF. Don't let her get you down. about having to be surgically removed from your skirt!

Daisy In years to come we can all say "We used to speak to Bumbles mam on mumsnet"

Its a lovely day here today, so tampted not to take DS2 to nursery this afternoon and go to a park instead.

tegan · 22/04/2009 12:39

Hi all sorry i have been awol for a couple of days.

will try to catch up with whats been going on with you all later when i have an hour or two.

I am just feeding O as been out this morning and he slept through his 10am feed so hasn't been fed since 7am -bad mummy.

Oblomov · 22/04/2009 12:48

Afternoon.
Hope Rutho is feeling better.
Serendipity, hope it dawns on that silly woman how hurtful such comments can be.
Good luck to pending stardom of bumble and daisy.
Did I tell you all that I spend my mornings stood next to Chesney Hawkes in the playground ? I must, I must, I must resist the overwhlming urge, to start singing "THE ONE AND ONLY", every second that I am stood next to him. He is so very very nice.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2009 14:46

You have reminded me obs that I need to phone rutho!

serrendippity, I am at the cow at M&B group. Please don't let her put you off going back there. As a BFing advocate, I'm utterly appalled as it's women like her that really put other women off, especially as she didn't know your history

Like everyone said on the other thread....you were right to be annoyed and upset.

had bumble weighed this morning....18lbs 1oz; so not as heavy as I thought, but heavy enough

AutumnLady · 22/04/2009 15:12

Hi all

Londonboots - being at work is tough as I miss my little man so much but such a lot going on that my day goes quickly. Am part time as of end of this month

Well done lacks - a film star no less!!

get well soon rutho - hope you feel better soon must be awful

serendippity - sorry to read about that other mother and that people feel the need to pass judgement on others. I had the same thing from a mw in hospital when i had James. I can't bf due to the strong painkillers i have and it was noted when i first became pg (in my yellow book and everything) but she made me feel soooo guilty but lucky for me I am a fairly thick skinned person (listen to people complaining about MPs daily!) so I smiled and said 'thank you but I have made my decision and will stick with it'. J is now 6 months and growing well with no detrimental effects from ff and has 3 meals a day so to her!! Don't let it get you down sweetie

xx

LadyBuzz · 22/04/2009 17:08

serendippity I am at that lady - what a cow. Like everyone else has said don't let her get you down.

lacks hope the filming goes very well for you both you will be fab!

hana thanks for the suggestions I am going to start investigating alternatives soon.

rutho hope you feel better soon.

Hi everyone else

PinkyMinxy · 22/04/2009 17:15

will post later when I have more time

SErendipity I am so sorry you had to be on the receiving end of that silly woman's attitude. PLease don't let her get you down.

Coolkat (was it?) I got the Heimess beads from here

back laterx

tegan · 22/04/2009 17:58

back again for another go.

Had O weighed today and at 20wk 5days he is 17lb 5oz (porker).

Serendippity - how was the house viewing after, it was a beauty.
Ruth - i hope you are feeling better now

cricri · 22/04/2009 18:14

Hi all,
Apologies for going AWOL again - lots of work to do so all my time on the PC was spent working. I did manage to lurk but not post. I can relax for a bit now - my next deadline is next Wednesday.
Glad the Northern meet-up went well - come on London ladies, we need to get our meet-up sorted out, we've only had one so far!
Hope everybody with DH problems can sort things out.
Rutho Hope you're feeling better today.
Obs Look at you rubbing shoulders with famous people
Talking of famous people, Lacks great news about the bf video. You and Bumble will be great!
Ladybuzz that the homeopathy course is so expensive, especially if it's something you really want to do. I've always found homeopathy works really well for me - in France it's very much mainstream and many doctors there study homeopathy as part of their medical studies and so can prescribe remedies or drugs, depending on which they feel is more suitable for the patient.
Have you thought about kinesiology in addition to Hana's suggestions? My doula is also a kinesiologist and uses kinesiology to treat her clients with homeopathic remedies when appropriate. My homeopath (who is also a trained doctor) also uses kinesiology to fine-tune her treatments too so it's very versatile.
Autumnlady Bet you can't wait to go part-time!
Monkey When are you off to France? We're going on 10 May for 2 weeks and I can't wait Are you driving down? After E's meltdown in the car on the way back from Yorkshire last week we've decided to break up the journey with an overnight stop.
We haven't heard from Merry in a while have we? Merry Hope you're OK.
Loved the arses emoticons btw!
Hello to everyone else!

Dozymare · 22/04/2009 19:05

Hi all - also been lurking but wanted to say Hi. Especially to obs as I really, really did PMSL laughing when I saw that she shares a playground with dear old chesney Hawkes I know if it was me, I would end up humming "the one and only( everytime I saw him!!!!

autumn great news about PT - how did you make the decision to do that??? I bet you can't wait! Lovely to see you posting again as well.

Cricri also really nice to see you posting as well and I agree that we are well overdue a meet up. Shall we just say a time, place and venue and whoever can make it makes it? Otherwise we will be to-ing and fro-ing forever!

I am ok - still really bushwacked from the GF but taking each day as it comes, it is quite literally doing my head in though as I can't exercise as much as I would like to and I really, really need to exercise to let of steam!!!

Vicious circle!

Hello to everyone else, and yes where is merry???

have a lovely evening!

Oblomov · 22/04/2009 20:25

Serendippity, how is the house searching going ? I like Ely. My friend used to live there and I used to visit her alot when I lived in Shelford, south of Cambs.
My friend went to see this house today: www.findaproperty.com/displayprop.aspx?edid=00&salerent=0&pid=2344262houseforsale it is close to ds1's school which is what she wanted. but it was too small. And it only has 4 bedrooms.
Like Choc says, it is amazing what you can buy in other parts of the country, compared to Surrey - I thought both the houses you chose to view were lovely. Hope you find something soon.

Oblomov · 22/04/2009 20:29

houseforsale

Dozymare · 22/04/2009 20:35

if Dh had his way, this is where we would live for our money he has sent off for details and everything............

Ceebee74 · 22/04/2009 20:37

Obs that is great about Chesney - I know it is really uncool but it really is one of my fave songs and I would just have to tell him if I was you

MonkeyMargot · 22/04/2009 21:33

Obs PMSL also over you rubbing shoulders with the fabulous CheeseyHawkes. The joys of knowing a B-List celeb! Did you know, he now writes songs for other singers - and actually is responsible for some almost tasteful music. It's true!
My boss is married to Tracey Shaw, who used to play Maxine in Corrie. I think she once won the sought-after accolade of "rear of the year".

Cricri still in blighty, off to France 17th May. Bet you can't wait to get away! All this lovely weather is getting me mentally prepared for 2 months of sunshine- horrah! DH is driving down with the dog, and the Plum and I are flying down to Nice 2 days later, as I really don't think she could handle all day in a car (DH refuses to do scenic routes/staying over).

Londonmeetup I am really up for it - dozy you set a date/venue if you like? Maybe it will force us all into action!

Chubster alert - the Plum is 22 weeks and weighs 19 pounds 8 ounces. That's my girl!

LackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2009 21:34

largs, dozy? tis a bit arse end of nowhere is it not?...unless you like golf

bumble got all velcro-ey this afternoon, but he hadn't had a sleep. He was sooo funny at teatime. We were having steak so I opened one of those ellas house pouches; the spinach one (so not looking forward to tomorrow's nappy) and mixed it with a bit of mash and he was crying between mouthfuls and lunging out of the highchair to get at it and was all waving arms and legs as he was eating. We then had melon and mango and I offered him a bit of mango to suck on. He sucked on it soo hard that he managed to get it out of my hands and into his mouth, and it was a big piece of mango . DH went in to get it back and only got half back, which he then proceeded to munch happily on, and was distraught when it was finished.

watching the apprentice...how shit is "pant's man"? Sralan is going to crucify them in the boardroom!!
