Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Morning all. Great new thread title Daisy, thanks. Looks like a nice day here today, hooray.

Ceebee74 · 07/04/2009 08:41

Thanks for the thread - love the title

Fudge enjoy your day - your Dh sounds like a gem (and I would put my money on the second scenario you mentioned )

Daisy glad you had a better night last night - long may it continue!

Sam has started lifting both legs in the air and then slamming them down together really hard - tis not funny at 5am (and that is why he needs to go in his own room!!) Plus he decided on a 6am start this morning which is not like him at all!

Right, the decorating waits so must go.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 08:50

Fudge, enjoy your day......have a nice long lingering lunch with a book or newspaper

I promised DS1 we would go to Toys'R'Us today to spend the rest of his Christmas money.......I must be nuts!!

it's me...hello everyone, I can't keep up! Hope you are all ok and doing well.

pinky small steps forward, you don't sound particulariy glum to me but I am sending you lots of virtual hugs anyway. You are amazing and have my utmost repsect for confronting your fears head on. You will be so much stronger than you already are once you get to the end of this particularily painful journey.

weaning Tiger loves sitting in her trip trapp at the table, having a nose at what we are all doing, but has NO INTEREST in eating!! (So doesn't take after me in that respect ). At this rate, I will end up going straight onto chopped rather than pureed. i do love pureeing find it very theraputic. Haven't tried any of the babyfood ranges since DS1 tried Hipp organic and then was really, really sick. It put me off so I used to take out little pots of homemade things if we were going out. I know a lot of people rate Plum and Ella's House for being very much like homemade food. TBH, I love cooking so not a problem for me to make my own stuff and just put ion a pot.

Can't remember who was asking about Formula Milk, but Tiger has a bottle at 7amish, 11amish, 230ish and 6ish. So 4 bottles a day of between 7 and 8oz.

She is still sleeping through and is such a good girl, we are all so besotted and argue over who's turn it is to cuddle her! She really, really loves DS1. He get's the most giggles!

Rosa glad you are ok, you were in my thoughts when I heard of the EQ but didn't know where. So glad you are ok.

I am loving the hols so far, got lots going on so not sure how often I will be posting - I promise I will be reading though!!!

Enjoy my lovelies!

Dozymare · 07/04/2009 08:53

see I X posted! Toysrus?! Are you MAD?? Surely it's better for him to look online and order that way?!! I am at the thought of you taking your 3 to hellisus.......

Pinkglow · 07/04/2009 08:53

good luck with the decorating - something I hate doing and will avoid if I can.

Off to HV this morning - I need her to tell me what teeth are now coming through as Ive no idea what im looking for, at least Henrys enertained in the waiting area

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 09:18

bumble was being really grizzly there, but has been up since 5.30 so needed a nap. After 20 mins of repeatedly putting the dummy back in, I gave him his taggie blankie, he has rubbed it up under his chin and gone off in two minutes flat! I think we have a definate comfort toy there.

Might be giving toys'r'us a miss; DS1 has just been sent up to his room for telling me I was fat and lazy . Just because I asked him to go and get bumble's blankie.

and DD is shouting about going for a "nitpick"

enjoy the hols dozy.

Fudge I hope you enjoy your day

Daisy Love the new thread title

Thank you for the answers regarding ff. I kept track yesterday and A had a total of 24oz over the 24 hour period so it's not as bad as I thought. She still only has 2oz at a time sometimes, she just seems to be feeding little and often as it was spilt over 8 feeds It was also the third night in a row of her not wanting a feed in the night, although she still wakes up once or twice

phee96 · 07/04/2009 09:24

Ok, Im clearly sleep deprived... it was the first night in three nights that she has wanted a feed in the night

chocolategal · 07/04/2009 09:48

Morning just bookmarking. Thank you daisy for new thread

LolaBella · 07/04/2009 09:48

Morning.
Ah the five month growth spurt. Welcome ladies
O's sleeping has also been erratic for quite a few weeks now. There is no consistency to night feeds so i'm trying to go with the flow but so much broken sleep is difficult to handle some days so i sypmathise entirely.

On the other hand, he is really coming on leaps and bounds. The title is V appropraite for this thread Oscar can now roll over with his sleeping bag on so when i put him to bed now he spends a good 15mins trying (and sometimes) successfully rolling onto his front. What should i do here? Should i leave him to sleep on front or keep turning him back?

Weaning is going well but very stinky nappies

ruthosaurus · 07/04/2009 09:53

Hi Phee, mine has just had a few nights of doing that after 10 weeks of sleeping through. I think it is this growth spurt business as last night he didn't have a feed BUT he woke up for a tiny squeak on the hour, every hour (no exaggeration) from 2 til 6 inclusive. Shoved dummy back in, noise stopped. Result.

Nice one, Daisy - love the thread title!

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 09:53

lola, once they can roll over onto their front by themselves you can just leave them as their necks are strong enough to move should they need to breathe! Otherwise it could be a long and sleepless night

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 07/04/2009 09:56

Lola, x-posting - Finbo slept on his side in the shape of a banana last night, head right back again. Is okay, I think, but the dummy falls out (see above)!

I think if they can right themselves it's okay, but check anyway.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 10:30

bumble is doing that too rutho, hence the half hour wakings the night before. He stayed on his back last night and only woke twice!!

My new camera has arrived.....

Right, I have bitten the bullet and informed work that I want to start back again on the 6th July.

However, I have also told them that I want to come back as a 0.6 (that's fine anyway, my contract only is a 0.6) and that I would prefer to work Wed-Fri each week, rather than being totally and utterly flexible about how I work as the nursery I want to get Fin into would charge a retainer fee if we start changing days all over the place. Thing is, my boss had her baby 6 months before Fin and is coming back on a 0.8 and has a private childminder and she is also famous for being a heartless ice queen (she actually has negative empathy). So she may make problems.

This is the woman who, when I told her about someone I know who didn't find out she was pg til 29 weeks then had the baby 10 days later said "Well, she was having sex, she knew the risks".

I am totally on edge now about this email and have just gone over it again to see if I wrote anything truly wanky. Will keep you posted.

On a really positive note, I went out to look at the nursery again yesterday and have confirmed in my mind that this is a Good Place to take a little baby. And on another positive note, DH has said that he wants to come and look at it next week while he is off for a few days. I am SO pleased he is showing an interest as he is a bit worried about Fin going into a nursery at all.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 12:18

6th july rutho

is that so you can get paid over the summer hols?...and why so many teachers have babies in November?

OP posts:
Emmanj · 07/04/2009 12:32

also a teacher here who made the most of teh summer hols pay!!

Hi all, thanks for the title daisy, made me laugh this morning!!

DD had jabs this morning, seems ok but is now sleeping in cot, im keeping fingers crossed for at least an hour!

Day out sounds fab fudge, enjoy!

My DD alsolikes to sleep with a cuddlie blanket netseld up to her cheek daisy, im in for it if i forget it!

Rutho, i totally understand your fears about nursery, its so hard....but your right to take all the time you need looking round, and with DH, to make sure its right for you.

Lovely day here, might try and get out this avo.

Emmanj · 07/04/2009 12:33

my spelling is a shocker - sorry!! quick typing!

Ceebee74 · 07/04/2009 12:37

Rutho good luck with work - don't forget you are entitled to request the changes to your working pattern and they have to provide a valid business reason if they turn it down. Trust your instincts with the nursery...if it feels 'ok' then it probably is. I think putting DS1 into nursery was probably the hardest thing I did - it truly was awful - but he has blossomed since being there and so enjoys it!

LackaDAISYcal · 07/04/2009 13:11

lol emmanj, not an english teacher I hope

I can't imagine going back to work with two littlies to deal with..hats off to those who are doing it!

right, off into the garden since the toy shop is cancelled.

Rosa · 07/04/2009 13:33

We had jabs today and she screamed ....Then they ha dto change her plaster and as soon as she saw the nurse coming over she screamed !
Yesterday at her check the doc said hold off for weaning until she is ready -much to MIl disgust as she would have her on 3 full meals a day by now and off the breast !
Minirosa also sleeps like a Banana and I have given up straightening her up. Managed to get the step on the bee today so will have to put the pram away
Fudge hope you had a good days shopping .
Very warm here in fact too warm - no spring again its going straight to summer!

Oblomov · 07/04/2009 14:04

Afternoon. Love title Daisy. No rolling here. No signs of it, at all, either. oh well !

Oblomov · 07/04/2009 14:39

Pinkmink agree with Dozy's post. you don't sound so glum. respect to you for challenging head on.
respect to fudge's dh for 3 boys. go to the top of the class, that man.
barbs, are you non-plussed by all this weaning nonsense then. let us talk you through it. PLUS, there are very very few sleep books, that I haven't read. let me help you, if I can.
can't believe ceebee - image of decorating with her french manicured nails - love it !! impressed
