Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Daisy though you were holding out to 26 weeks....Am I the only one who is not even thinking about it yet - until she starts wanting more food / waking up again / showing interest in food ??? Minirosa has had a finger of apple puree that dd1 left and thats about it .

Rosa · 09/04/2009 21:12

thought even !!!

Ceebee74 · 09/04/2009 21:13

Rosa you are not alone. I am not intending on weaning Sam until 26 weeks unless he showns any definite signs before then...at the moment, he is more than content on milk

LackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2009 21:33

I was Rosa; bumble had other ideas

I was more waiting till he could sit up and lose the tongue thrust reflex really as these are believed to be more reliable indicators of gut maturity, which he has done. He still can't quite grab and get it to his mouth himself, but it isn't for the want of trying . And he's only three weeks off the magical 26 weeks anyway

rutho - HI!
lacks - Northern meetup sounds good. What are the details?
twinkling - congrats on DD being in big bed and dummy free.
obs - Good luck at the car boot. Hopefully have lots more space and £ by monday.
WEANING - Advice please on how to get started with Alyssa. Now 21wks and for a week or so now she has gone from drinking a bottle straight down to doing it in 2 forced sittings! Almost like she is bored with the bottle. Cannot remember what I did with DS. BAD MUMMY.
dirty deeds - Soooo . Want to but not got the urge or energy if that makes any sense.
ANOTHER BAD DAY . At a friend's house a gathering of 3 adults and 7 kids. Having a lovely time and DS did something naughty and it went shitty from there and took him home screaming and crying. Wondering more and more if I have PND not because I am highly emotional and prone to crying and taking things to heart, have been to some degree all my life, but because when I get angry I get really angry and normally with DS. It also happens most days . I dont get angry for no reason but it is how quickly and how long I feel angry for that upsets me. Then of course I feel depressed and remorseful not just after but for the rest of the day. Decided to try some Kalms tablets and then if no improvement maybe see the doctor?
The stupid thing is though we can be having an amazing time and it just turns into crap that I feel for the rest of the day. Just feel like a bad mummy when these "mad times" happen. But DS is such a good hearted and funny boy. But also strong willed (wonder where that is from ) and got toddler deathness. As for Alyssa she is an absolute pleasure and the only time I come out of my "mood" is when I look at her georgeous face.

barbareebaa · 09/04/2009 21:53

hello

mucked up big time here today - feel awful even telling you guys. Gave W a tiny taste of my cornetto [bush] he was grabbing for it (as you would I suppose) so I dabbed a bit on my finger and he sucked it then about 5 mins later came up in hives all over his face, mouth hands
I was completely terrified. Oh God. idiot woman. Phoned NHS direct. Poor little boy. He's fine now and I've learnt a lesson.
You lovely ladies with your squashes and purees and me chucking ribbish at my gorgeous boy. racked with guilt I am

Yes obs Weaning for big fat morons

barbareebaa · 09/04/2009 21:54

bish and ribbish = and rubbish

Emmanj · 09/04/2009 21:57

Right, still no period so just sent DH to ADSA to get a pg test.

AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! Am now panicking. will get back ot you .........

barbareebaa · 09/04/2009 22:00

Emmmanj How exciiiiiiiiting!!!!!!

chocolategal · 09/04/2009 22:01

well done ceebee on finishing the decorating!
Hi vbab, hope the kalms help.

Sounds like bumble is enjoying his food.
Aww barbs don't beat yourself up over the cornetto, the main thing is W is fine!! Xx

chocolategal · 09/04/2009 22:02

Oohhhh emmanj, goodluck! X

LackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2009 22:04

oh barbs . Not at you, but that you feel so bad. We have all done things that, in hindsight, weren't the best things to do, so please try not to beat yourself up about it. and it's just one of those things; you weren't to know what would happen. Please don't be too hard on yourself

What did NHS direct say? Is it likely to be an allergy to something in the cornetto? From what I know of allergies, the first exposure can be mild, but second exposure can be pretty bad. Please go and see your GP about it, incase it's a nut allergy or something like that.

ruthosaurus · 09/04/2009 22:09

Emmanj, is he not back yet? Get weeing on that stick, girl!

...btw, when you are bfing, can your periods sort of come and go? I got one 6 weeks after the birth, then another a month after that, then coil fitted and some intermittent spotting but nuthin' since Feb, really. I know I'm insanely irregular and seem to have a 50-day cycle, but sheesh. Em's getting me paranoid...

Barbs, how were you to know? Anyway, Cornettos are only rubbish if you live on them but taken in moderation they are full of icecreamy goodness (I am trying to convince myself that the calcium content is good for a bfing mum, can you tell?)

I am dreading weaning as the food hassle will suddenly mutiply tenfold. Having got the hang of the whole boobs thing I am sad to be leaving these days behind. When they say kids grow up fast they aren't kidding, are they? Blink and you'll miss it!

Lacks, YAY Bumble for being such a good muncher

LackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2009 22:10

gah, emmanj.....cross posted with you.....how exciting???? is it??? small age gaps rock, just ask pinky

hey vbab....are you on FB? rutho has the details, but we're thinking the 20th April and looking at a Wacky Warehouse for toddler time....there are a couple in your neck of the woods I believe? oh and rutho, jaunitad wants to come too....I'll fb you her details so you can invite her.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2009 22:13

rutho....boobs still very much in demand for ages yet. food is just for fun until about one

Is it the mirena coil? If so, it's not uncommon to not get a period at all with it. Just keeping checking it's still in place. and yes, cycles can be irregular. when I was feeding DD, mine came back at 9 weeks, but were anything from 5 to 8 weeks apaprt.....which is why I was very blase to DH saying "don't worry, I'm only two weeks in"

test in the morning emmanj; less chance of a false negative!

vbab I would go back to the gp and speak to them if you are still feeling a bit down, sending hugs to you.
Barbs dont worry W is ok you are not alone, I have been very good and just given M fruit and veg and some baby porridge you know the gluten free stuff but a few weeks ago we were at the baby clinic when DD1 proudly announced that mummy had given millie a lick of a milky bar (which I had and it was A lick) but felt like I was at school again.

I don't think I've replied to your fb event rutho, it's a little too far for me unfortunately.

Off to bed,DH watching the golf! [yawn!]

ellielou02 · 09/04/2009 22:22

just reread my post "daisy my daisy nappies......" hope it makes sense.

ruthosaurus · 09/04/2009 22:23

Good luck, Em, woo!

Lacks, no, it is just the normal coil (I had it fitted after we had our little slip-up, or rather slip-off). Periods are rubbish.

Never mind, Choc, I know what you mean!

DH is just about to start 10 whole days off work - we have NOTHING planned, which is lovely. We're just going to muck around with the kid for a week, visit some rellies etc.

Emmanj · 09/04/2009 22:27

Right here we go...............

NEGATIVE!!!!!!!! (but may do the 2nd one in morning just to check!)

Im so sorry for all the anguish and stress but thankful for all your support ladies. It is the best outcome really as i wasnt ready but would have made the best of it if it had been.

Have told DH i am not having drunken sex again

Honeymoonmummy · 09/04/2009 22:27

God I've not been on this thread for about a week and I'm not even gonna try to catch up!!

Good luck with the pregnancy test Emmanj!

Are you all on FB then? I just did a search for a group but couldn't find one?
