Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Morning

Thanks Daisy I am indeed feeling sooo much better, the really wied thing is that no one else here had it! My tummy still delicate so being careful with what I eat. I can sympathise with Bumble. X

Rutho glad you got your working week. I have my hours, school hours 3 days a week. Becca will be at a childminder as I don't work school holidays I can not afford nursery

Pinky glad you are having councelling. I can not begin to tell you about my childhood but by the time I was 18 I had lived in 18 different houses Its only this past 2 years that I have stood my ground with my mum. x

Hana hoping you get the job on your terms. x You enjoying the Bee?

Tegan Glad O had a better night.

Dozy I am almost envious of you! You always sound so bright, organised and happy in yourself!

Re weaning, Becca has been having 3 cubes of veg at tea time and she is sleeping through, when do I need to introduce breakfast?

Right day in the garden today, bossing DH about!!

coolkat · 08/04/2009 09:32

Oh and fudge you did not get yourself anything

My birthday on sunday and I can't wait to go shopping after!

ChocOrange05 · 08/04/2009 12:25

Hello all

Dozy thanks for asking about me - I have been really busy the last few days - lunch in london town with friends and shopping yesterday with a teacher friend - have hardly had anytime to go on the computer.

Isn't this weather FAB!!! M has just been playing on the grass while I hung the washing out - it was lovely.

Pinky I can't really relate to your family issues as I was very lucky to have a loving and caring family but I wanted to say I am really impressed by you and your attitude to your past. Your children are lucky to have you, who I see as a caring mother who wants a happier upbringing for them than you had. I just wanted to say that as I know I often don't post on your comments, not because I don't care but because I don't have any good advice.

Fudge get back out to those shops and spend!!! I can go for you if you like, I love to shop!

M has set a new sleepthrough (11-6.30/7) PB - 6 nights in a row but ended last night as he woke up at 5.57am so I told him it didn't count. He is 5 months on friday so I am dreading the next growth spurt.

My boy is trying desperately to roll - he did it once last week on the bed but nada since.

Right - off to make crumble and millionare shortcakes (if M plays ball and stays asleep that is!). Mmmmmm

Ceebee74 · 08/04/2009 12:26

Just a quickie

Fudge lol at you not getting yourself anything Well done to your DH for at least managing to look after the 3 boys (if nothing else!)

Rutho yay to you for getting your work sorted - I am sure it is a huge weight off your shoulders. Now relax and enjoy the last 3 months of your maternity leave (Btw, as DS1 was 6.5 months when he started nursery, they pretty much sorted weaning DS1 out for me - I took my lead from them in terms of introducing lumps, finger food etc otherwise I would be clueless....still am really so god help Sam!!)

coolkat glad you are feeling better and can start eating properly. Have just looked at my Annabel Karmel book and it suggests introducing breakfast (along with lunch) in week 2 if that helps.

Right, need to crack on - will try and catch up properly later. Just got 3 more walls to do (am leaving the second coat on the ceiling for DH to do tonight when he gets home as I slightly cocked it up yesterday )

Rosa · 08/04/2009 13:09

All this talk about work ...Makes me think I should go and do sign up for a study course !
Minirosa very grumpy after jabs and had a temp again this am .DH has also a new camera Daisy and he is doing my head in talking about it ! ( I think it is revenge for me buying the bee!!!!)

AutumnLady · 08/04/2009 13:50

Afternoon. Just bookmarking, will catch up soon.
J is rolling over if you put him on his tummy but otherwise he rolls onto his side and gets a bit stuck with what to do with his arm that's underneath (if that makes sense!)

J has taken nicely to purees and loves the Plum pots that someone else mentioned.

Good title daisy thanks!

PinkyMinxy · 08/04/2009 16:01

Hi all
Rutho that's fab news about your mat leave.
coolkat8 I am so sorry you had a difficult time growing up, to. I am glad you have fouind a way to rebalance you relationship with your mum. I am still working up to saying no to her at some point. I am managing to put boundarries in place in other ways. But you and Hana* give me hope! So thankyou for sharing that.

choco thankyou, too. I don't want to post about it all on here, as it's not very nice.

Hope you got your laundry away daisy!

And decorating, ceebee. i always 'let' DH do the ceiling

lol rosa, your DH and his new toy!

Hi Autumnlady

coolkat · 08/04/2009 16:10

No Problems Pinky, I am not saying it was easy. What's really important is that you have your own family now and they become your focus.

LackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2009 16:11

stil trying pinky. i get it all folded neatly and laid out on the bed, then have to deal with dc or make tea or whatever, thrn before i know it it's bedtimeb and it'ss all ovwr the bed so it gets chucked back in the basket as i can't disturb the dc putting it away and i'm back to square 1

awful typing.....feeding bumble and trying to mn at theb same time

OP posts:
PinkyMinxy · 08/04/2009 18:15

lol lacks, most of my folded laundry gets worn straight from the basket these days, for the same reasons!

coolkat, yup i think this is going to take time, but I am getting soewhere, i hope!

mimi much better, but still gummy eyes.she's sleeping well, though. took dc to soft play, had fab time, and my new wrap sling had it's first outing. mimi slept in it for ages so i'll mark it as a hit

Congrats on the job Hana!

I need to sort my work out. Do any of the teacher people knowhow much notice u have to give if planning on going back early, in July? i always just planned on Sept. but now ive read about a couple on here going back in July i may need a re-think. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hope the decoratings going well ceebee - how do you find the energy?!

Lovely sunny day today!

Looking forward to Apprentice tonight!

juanitad · 08/04/2009 20:13

Emmanj, definitely go back in July, it's so worth it. If I waited till September, then I would earn statutory mat pay for half of the summer, but for the second half I would earn not a penny, as my 9 months paid mat leave would be up. However, by going back in July, I'll earn my full pay over the summer. I'm going back for a week, but in fact if I chose to, I could go back just for one day, you've got the right to do that if you want, and lots of people do. I just wanted a week to get my head round the fact that I really am going back to work, and to kind of ease myself into it so that it's not such a shock in September! I asked personnel at my school how much notice I need to give of my return date - they asked me for as much notice as possible, but no less than 5 weeks, I would guess it would be something similar at your school but you could always speak to your personnel person or the personnel dept at your LEA to find our for definite. Hope that helps

Emmanj · 08/04/2009 20:30

Thanks juanitad, i will get in contact with them next week to discuss. I too would be on no pay for the 2nd half of the hols, and this would be a real struggle for us. Thanks for the advice. I feel a bit cheeky going back for such a short tiem but tehn if everyone does it they must be kind of expecting it!
Thanks

Ceebee74 · 08/04/2009 20:33

Hana congratulations Fingers crossed that they can accommodate the reduced hours for you.

Emmanj officially, you have to give 8 weeks notice if you want to return to work before 12 months - but a lot of employers don't enforce this so just contact your HR department and ask them.

Lol at the laundry discussions - my laundry does make into drawers/wardrobe every night but unironed (much to my mum's horror!) - we work on an iron-as-needed basis here

Decorating is now done - DH is upstairs as we speak finishing the ceiling. I just asked him what the chances are of all the furniture being built by tomorrow evening so DS1 can sleep in there - don't think he is very confident!!

Am knackered though - have literally only stopped to feed Sam/eat for 2 days whilst DS1 has been at nursery....poor Sam has been totally neglected. But, it appears to have done him some good as he spent an hour this evening after DS1 came home lying on his gym trying to roll over (probably fed up of having to play with his toys for hours on end so thought he would try something else )...bearing in mind he has shown no inclination to turn at all before today. He nearly did it aswell - managed to get right onto his side and turn into the 'banana' shape (love that description )

MerryMarigold · 08/04/2009 20:41

Hi peeps. All this talk of work. Feels like a different world. I haven't worked at my 'career' for 6 years now. Wow! It is a world away...

ceebee, congrats on the decorating and hana on the job. Productive days!

lacks and pinxy, your description on the washing made me LOL. I love washing and hanging out, but hate bringing in and putting away! It lives in piles all over the house and we rummage through trying to find stuff! One of my friends was 'admiring' me today as she 'just can't put her kids clothes away in the cupboard without ironing them' . Then she moans that she has no time for this that and the other. Well STOP BLIMMING IRONING THEN!

Anyway, had a nice lunch with friends today and even better some of the big DC's on school hols (11 year old girls) took care of babies so had some time to sit and chat (in between bf).

Obs, how's tricks? How's your mood? What do you do to help it? I need help too...but trying to hold of AD's till September as I already know the Winter is going to be a killer for me and I need to have some ammo to combat it. Currently the bfing is helping my mood I think and summer always helps too. but I am pretty low.

LackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2009 20:41

well done on getting the job hana and i hope the working hours suit you.

My brood weren't in bed until 8 tonight. FIL brought DD and DS home at 6.15.....and they hadn't given them any tea . They said they would bring them back either before or after teatime. When they didn't arrive before teatime I just assumed they would be feeding them. But teatime is obviously just a descriptor in their house and not actually time for tea. Of course they were both tired and cranky. Anyhoo, we had nothing ready as we weren't expecting to feed them so DH had to go and get takeaway and then by the time they were fed and watered.......

Bumble had a suck on some apple tonight and got really cross when a bit broke off and I fished it out of his mouth. He devoured a bit of banana at the children's centre this morning as wel. Will try him with some veg tomorrow and see what happens.

Emmanj · 08/04/2009 21:03

Thats so annoying daisy, nice of them to look after DC's but NOT nice to bring back late and un-fed. id have been well peeved.

Also a non-ironer here, deff on a 'as you need' basis!

LackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2009 21:05

soooooo emmanj, have you got your test all ready????

OP posts:
Emmanj · 08/04/2009 21:20

ChocOrange05 · 08/04/2009 21:37

Emmanj · 08/04/2009 21:39

In caps too!!??! i feel ambushed!!! dont worry will let u know.....has anyone else had any 'scares' since DC was born? i know daisy, youve told me your 'been there, got the t shirt, now wiping up the sick' story (PMSL!)

Hi vbab!

vbab78 · 08/04/2009 21:51

Emmanj - Sorry not been keeping up but WOW maybe baby. Not had a scare or much SEX really. Me and DH on emotional (and exhausting) roller coaster and the last thing on my mind, NOT DH's though . The other day though for some stupid reason in bed I felt my belly as if I felt pregnant and all the old emotions came back. So I thought I wonder if this is a sign? The next day I came on [dont know what to feel emotion]. I like the idea of more kids (got 2) and although if it happened I would be shocked but happy no more plans here. I am wiped emotionally and physically with 2 without being back part time at work and DS starting school so WE have decided no more which even though realistic makes me very sad. DH got snip hospital appointment next week (15th) and even though think for the best still makes me sad. Darent tell him as he would love not to have it done.
REALLY SORRY just went off on one. Looking forward to your news. Happy scare? Feel free to tell me to butt out.
