Wow at 75 items!!

The power of MN

TBH I am going to try and keep DD in buggy as long as I can

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 08/04/2009 21:15

Evening all, busy day with friends here, lovely sunshine so we were lucky.

Off to parents in Devon tomorrow - think i will have web access but not sure.

Double buggy - well the p&t is great but shortlived depending on your older child.
DS1 wants to walk everywhere now so rarely goes in it and it's bulky for a single buggy.
How is Charlie on a buggy board - great invention!

We have a side-by-side one too, v heavy & bulky.

um, Simps - hope DD ok.

LaT - H wants to get out lots now too, you can't hold them back really can you?

right, back to packing i guess, today was not really an ideal day to be busy as we want to leave about 9am tomorrow and i only started packing at 7.30!

madmouse · 08/04/2009 21:47

simpson poor dd and poor you worrying about it. Hope she is ok!

Can't comment on all the buggy problems, still very happy with my P&T. May get the problem when we do have another baby as Nathan will almost certainly be a very late walker (somewhere between 2 and 3) so will need pushchair for longer

simpson · 08/04/2009 21:53

Madmouse - one interesting thing I forgot to mention before is that Molly is double jointed (like me) and apparently Los who are double jointed can walk later.

So we may have another late walker here

I didn't walk till I was 2

Pead says M hyper mobile in her feet especially...

madmouse · 08/04/2009 21:54

what is double jointed?

OP posts:
simpson · 08/04/2009 21:58

Just when the joints are hyper mobile ie they bend further than they should.

I have to be careful because DD may be able to bend her joints further than normal but it doesn't mean she should iyswim. Can damage them..

I am double jointed in my knees and hands.

Pead managed to bend Molly's foot back to it was touching her leg (without hurting her obviously!!)

madmouse · 08/04/2009 22:00

Lilyloo · 08/04/2009 22:31

I took L earlier in the week.
She chose eggs for 2 nephews , 3 niece but 'cadbury chicks' (obv good taste for her and H) I then got some small individual chicks and lambs for M!
Choc galore here. Have also got lot's of choc wrapped eggs for H and L to give to neighbour dc on Sunday too. Have the bunny ears at the ready!
H told me they giving creme eggs at church too on Sun and could i get his given he at footy!!

madmouse · 08/04/2009 22:32

Simpson go for long slow cooking, hard to get it wrong. good recipes here.

let me think, Easter: dh preaching at open air service on Good Friday, dh away at confirmations in cathedral on saturday, dh doing holy communion/leading/preaching on sunday, dh collapsing in a heap after sunday lunch. happy easter, bring on Monday for some family time. the joy of a clergy family. but I am not doing it justice. easter is a very special time for us.

Lilyloo · 08/04/2009 22:33

MM H was full of easter and the meaning to him tonight at tea time.
We had neighbour daughter over(older) who at non catholic school v. interesting!!!

simpson · 08/04/2009 22:38

My family have given Dc loads of eggs and am going to give Molly's to my friends kids, saves me buying more

But I want to buy her a toy that will be a special easter pressie iyswim as she can't eat chocolate

DS's fav pressie was for easter (instead od chocolate was a bit PFB then )and he got a toy garage from ELC. He still plays with it now...

What are everyones fav toys ATM for ideas that don't cost a fortune??

simpson · 08/04/2009 22:39

Forgot to say madmouse cheers will check out link for lamb!!

Lilyloo · 08/04/2009 22:40

Simps surely your loft holds the secret ???

simpson · 08/04/2009 22:43

Lilyloo - ROFL [grin

You have made me splutter wine on keyboard

Unfortunately everything in loft for DD is for when she is walking ie toy kitchen, pram set etc...

I should have planned more

Lilyloo · 08/04/2009 22:49

Something that you put in and take out , and out in and take out and...see a theme ?
A good shape sorter , M likes H old elc one ?
She also likes cars (does a fab bruuum and his lego ?)

simpson · 08/04/2009 22:53

I have to say Molly totally fascinated with J's toy cars. So maybe get some of her own.....

Her new thing is to give me things and say "ta" LOL!!!

Tis very sweet as you hear "ta" around the house and you know she has a gift for you!!

Bless her, she hasn't realised you say "ta" when you get the gift etc....

Lilyloo · 08/04/2009 22:58

M would love cars tbh
She doing a fab (kissing noise) to give a kiss out at the min but only when she chooses lol!
Guess it's the way they sell it lol!

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 09/04/2009 06:44

Morning all

Not too much chocolate here yet, have bought the boys a Lindt rabbit each.
We have shared the odd egg that DH/Ds have won at church fair type things.
Sure the grandparents will go nuts as usual.
We are off to my parents later, and the In-laws are coming here the weekend after.
(PIL believe in bags of presents at Easter as well as eggs!)

Right, need tea & to get moving with packing.
Aiming to leave at 9, 2hrs-ish to go!

Lucky - hope the riding went well

hello everyone else, sorry for lack of personals.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 09/04/2009 09:35

Morning all...

I ada fa idea instad of chocs a few weeks back and since my parents, DB and cousins have been asking cannot remember what it was. Anyway have specified that if thye do want to buy and egg only small one and would prefer something like milky bar buttons. Will let DS2 have a taste but tbh DH and I will prob eat.

JKS have a lovely time.

My parents are in Turkey and I had given a list of disney films for the turkish versions for DC and gave a list of 7 with a view that they would get one or two incase they cant find them all and my dad bless him has bought every single one.

Got a RL friend round in abit we met at ANC with DS1 so they get on really well. So sweet DS1 actually called up and asked her if her and DS could come round.

LaTrucha · 09/04/2009 11:33

Morning all,

No chocolate here yet. I have seen a little milk chocolate bunny andI thikn I will get that. She can have a lick

Here they have what look to me like very strange buns which have an egg in its shell baked in on top. Not very appetising. I don't think my family ever buy them. There are eggs too, but they're not traditional.

Watched some of the Easter parades today - there are parades every day - they look like this . It takes 200 men to carry one of these (they're called thrones). They carry them for hours and they weigh one and a half plus tonnes each. There are dozens of them. You can see from their faces here the effort.

In the parade tonight, the thrones of Jesus and Mary are taken in different routes round the streets and then at 4am they meet and everyone sings. It sounds kind of beautiful, though not my thing. I don't think I'll be going!

I've decided to try and make this a neutral space, where I try and talk about other things than my Dad. Inevitably, it will crop up, though.

simpson · 09/04/2009 12:33

Hi all

My dad is supposed to be coming round today but that could be anytime as he is not the most punctual of people!!

A RL friend bless her is coming round with some clothes for M that her daughter has outgrown as M keeps pooing on her vests etc.

However both her DCs have chickenpox ATM. Although the mother has not got them can she be a carrier iyswim??

Although both her Dcs have now got the spots which I think means they are not contagious anymore

LaT - think that is a good idea. Then you have a place to try and distract you. Hope we can help

Lucky - how did the riding go??
