Can I just vent, not coping well.

DH is just not there for me atm and I need him. I need him to check how I am, pray with me and generally behave as if he knows I have ptsd. I need to talk to him. But no, it is me supporting him. As usual.

He is in a total flap about the sermon he is preaching at the open air service tomorrow. I have tried to help him with it but it is all not good enough. He is counting on me to be my normal strong self but I am not .

So I snapped at him, and now he has a face like a wet week. And i don't know what to do with myself. Feel very upset. Can't really talk to my rl friends, not very the done thing to slag your husband off is it. Especially in his position.

Madmouse - ((hugs))

Don't know what to say hun, things must be very tough for you ATM.

I guess Easter is a busy time for the Church. Do you think he might be there for you more once Easter out of the way??

You know where I am if you need me (((hugs)) again!!

We can have a good old chat on 25th too...

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 18:57

Madmouse are you getting any counselling yet ?
Sounds as if you really need it. Can you rush through the referral any quicker if not ?
I totally understand how hard this is and you want dh to be there 100% for you but maybe he doesn't know what to do (sorry if i am talking out of turn here)
I can only go off my experience of helping my sil through depression. It is very hard to be the person doing the supporting to. It is very easy to push those who understand the most away.
However his job should not come before how you are doing and he should be asking how you are. It isn't asking too much for him to listen even if he doesn't know what to say.

Madmouse - how are you doing??

I am so excited

I have booked a ticket to Poland to see lil bro.

Going for 4 days, I cannot wait!!!!

madmouse · 09/04/2009 20:08

Thank you both

still waiting for my counselling appointment - was told it would take about two weeks to hear. The two weeks were up today.

Lily - I know what it is like from the other side - have seen dh through a number of major depressive episodes

simpson · 09/04/2009 20:14

madmouse - can you chase them up tom if you haven't heard?

Deffo think the councilling will help.

My brother suffers from depression and he had councilling which really helped him...

How is Nathan doing today?

M still sick and not eating much

Think it might be teeth though as there are some I can see under the gum and the bottom.

madmouse · 09/04/2009 20:16

Good friday tomorrow - will be after Easter now

Poor M being sick - how's temperature?

Nathan being bril - playing, squealing, giggling and eating

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 20:20

MM how did you get referred ??
Can you push it with gp ?

Simps great news , adult only trip ??

simpson · 09/04/2009 20:21

Doh

Forgot it was Good Friday

M is good temp wise and I even gave her a bath this evening. She wasn't well enough yesterday.

My brother is taking J out for the day tomorrow so I will get some time with M one on one which will be nice

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 20:39

oh MM - I'm so sorry that he's not very helpful. I'm afraid all I can say is that if you need me I'm normally online and can listen whenever you need me.

I did read the rest but as usual I've forgotten - sorry.

Riding was good and I'm no where near as sore as I thought I'd be. The owner was determind to break me back in gave me a horse that is stubborn and pulls like a train had fun though - just sore shoulders from pulling on the reins so much.

simpson · 09/04/2009 20:41

Lucky - very of riding. Are you going again?

Lilyloo - yep no kids!! Going with my dad and my youngest brother is studying there.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 20:47

I'm going sometime next week (not sure which week yet) with Aaliyah for a playdate/clean tack day. Gonna pick the sunniest day so I can sit in the yard and get a tan.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 20:53

Just counted and only 15 days till hols

simpson · 09/04/2009 21:13

Oh well at least I have Poland

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 21:15

Wow Lucky that has come around quickly

Simps at adult only time!!

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 21:16

I know, I can't wait but now I'm in panic mode worrying about whether we got evertyhing!! lol

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 21:17

A good ol mumsnet pre holiday suitcase list then

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 21:19

yeh I think so!! haha

See i'm not sure how many clothes I should be taking and if I should take nappies etc etc etc etc etc !!! lol

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 21:25

I always take nappies tbh they are expensive abroad.
Clothes wise i take two changes a day for dc.
Something for lounging around in and then smart stuff for evening.
For me i take enough for a week if i going for two as will wear again the following week.

Take some old t shirts for A to swim in to protect her from sun.

Does she have dummy ? Take a few spares , we once had a mare trying to find a normal shaped dummy for L.
And calpol is always a good thing to have.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 21:29

OMG - Lily I wasn't going to take Nappies as I was worried that we'd run of space in our luggage!
Didn't think about 2 changes per day - was going to just take enough for a week for all of us
Didn't think of calpol

OMG!!! [even more panicked emoticon] lol

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 21:34

Lucky i have always managed to fit them in round the sides.

Calpol yes def

Clothes wise, you find that after a day slobbing around in hot sweaty clothes you want a nice shower and some clean clothes to slip on.
And the dc always get choclate ice cream on their new clothes every evening it's a holiday tradition

simpson · 09/04/2009 22:00

Lucky - open the pack of nappies and roll them into things ie shoes etc.

I always take nappies too and calpol etc.

When I have been on holiday with Dcs they take up 90% of suit case leaving no very little room for me!!

Probably worth getting armbands for A too for swimming.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 22:01

ohhhhhk

So we're thinking 2 outfits per day so I need to buy her some more clothes then as somehow I need to find 28 changes of clothes [phew] I was thinking I should pack 5 nappies per day so that's gonna be 70 nappies (more than a pack) can I take the pack as hand luggage dya think?

would you recommend short or long sleeves for DD. I was thinking short sleeves with cream but mum says long sleeves.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 22:02

Also - I got armbands but they're too big for her (She can't bend her arm and gets annoyed) do you know of any smaller ones?

I'm packing 2 swimsuits for her is that enough?
