Lily - Have a great time!!

Simps - I agree that you should see whether you can reach his family to demand whats going on. well maybe not demand but....

Ginge - Dont worry about complaining about anything. Early mornings are hard!

JKS - I'm so sorry that H isn't doing too good today. I really hope his meds kick in soon.

Well yesterday we took Hugo (the last foster kitten) to see his new home. He's gonna have a great time there. Just needs to be neutered before he goes.

Today I've blitzed the bedroom, kitchen and done 3 lots of washing so feeling good about myself.
Annoyed at DP he finished work at 6am on Weds, went to bed at 10:30 and didnt get up till 7 then stayed up all night went back to bed at 1pm today adn didnt get up till 5 and has fallen asleep on the sofa again.
Feeling very worn out from dealing with aaliyah today and was looking forward to the help but its not there.

Am trying to let him off as he was off for 3 weeks and then worked 6 nights straight so is probably tired BUT stil... grr

simpson · 21/05/2009 22:16

forgot to say major event here...

Molly can now put 2 words together...

Ok it always seems to be "mummy..." followed by a word but its a start

ie "mummy more" seems to be the current fav!!

New words learnt today: raisin, bath, down.

And she can now count to 6

But she leaves out 1 (I say it then she counts the rest!!)

JustKeepSwimming · 22/05/2009 08:01

Simps - blinking heck, she's not daft your M!!!

Lucky - sounds like a cyclical thing, you need to have another go at him sit down explaining sharing parenting

H had a 45sec one just now, recovered fine though. but was wit dh so he got freaked and shouted for me - whilst i was having my lie-in, grr.

anyway, he's taking T to nursery soon so H & I can have some peace!

madmouse · 22/05/2009 08:38

JKS glad you are getting so blase about H's seizures that you grump when dh wakes you for them

Morning all

Another lovely day here weather wise

Busy day again today...going to baby clinic this morning to get m weighed and to speak to HV about what to tell J about DH.

Then got my fitness class this afternoon (not really sure i am in the mood )and Molly is in the creche.

JKS - hope you get a peaceful day!!

JustKeepSwimming · 22/05/2009 12:00

Good luck with all that Simps.

MM i know but i'm not really. i'm just v sleep deprived and didn't appreciate being woken up.
i wake in the night and just lie there - last night was 2.30 onwards.

H had another one
woke at 10.30, after 2 hrs nap, so i thought ok, get up, let's play. he was grumpy but slowly cheered up, then the hosp rang me back so i was on the phone in the kitchen he came in, was walking about as normal, then fell - now i don't knoww if he had a momentary fit that made him fall or what - bumped his cheek on the oven handle (big bruise coming already) and screamed. stopped crying, couple of big nods, then 45sec fit.
did the fall bring it on, was he already nodding that's why he fell? who knows.

anyway, consultant just rang and i had a longish chat with him but am annoyed - GOSH haven't been in touch with him yet (tues-fri, letter should have got there ), he doesn't know what's best to do. and can only advise me to go to a&e if worried.
H is rapidly becoming 'not-H' as far as i can see

anyway he has spoken to GOSH and given them my mobile plus given me a number of the epilepsy registrar so may call them when i've calmed down. oh, we apparently don't have an epilepsy nurse 'in post' as yet.....

simpson · 22/05/2009 12:06

JKS - ((hugs)) for you and H

Must be sooo hard seeing it all and H not being H for you all.

on your behalf about consultant not knowing anything...

Would definately call as maybe H needs to try the other medication mentioned if this one isn't working...

Gingeme · 22/05/2009 19:44

JKS I am almost in tears reading about your little fella . You are doing so well despite being sleep deprived please give him a big X from us.
Simpson has J mentioned or asked about Daddy not being there ? I realy can't remember what I said to my big boys , then 3 and 4, as to why there Daddy wasn't living with us. In fact I don't think they asked tbh
Lucky its good to have the occasional blitz isn't it ? I had a row with DH last Friday about his lack of help around the house. When I was pg we shared the housework. My 2 jobs were clean the bathroom and dust. His were to hoover and mop. This seemed to stick after babys. I asked him last Friday to do the floor while I was at playgroup with George his reaction 'oh because I'm not doing anything you always have to find me something to do!' So I shouted something like 'oh I'll stick a brrom up my arse and sweep the floor aswell shall I?'. Needless to say the floors were gleaming whe I got in ho hum!
Well weve had a pretty good day here. I went to watch Davids assembly today. It was all about the circus and he was a band member and had to walk around in a line banging a drum so weet.
Going to Gullivers tommorrow. Its like a scaled down version of Chessington especialy for littleys.
Well I'll bid you all a godnight xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 22/05/2009 20:18

Hey guys thanks! your being kind really does help, you might feel like you're not doing much but you are

anyway, progress (i think) the GOSH registrar rang me back, we had a chat, she spoke to the consultant and rang me back.
(in there somewhere was a sympathetic but essentially useless GP appointment)
they want to change to Keppra ASAP.
so the Epilim doses drop as from tomorrow, until he doesn't have any more from 1st June.
He should start the Keppra tomorrow morning (more on that later) and build up every 2 weeks, so will be on a full dose about the 20th June.
Hope it works....

re the Keppra - the on call pharmacist has been forced to go back into the pharmacy (as they don't keep Keppra in the emergency box) and make it up, and it's a solution which sounds complicated. so the nurse will call me when it's ready for collection, DH will shoot in, collect it (+ some phone numbers of epilepsy nurses at GOSH to ring when worried) and come home. so we can start tomorrow morning.

when the NHS gets fired up it really does work you know?!

think the GOSH doc wanted Keppra from the beginning actually and is using my anxiety as an excuse to switch early but i don't mind!

right, long me post again sorry guys!!!

Simps - really feel i should be asking about you more, how are you managing? did your dad come and cut the grass?
have you got a short-term, medium- & long-term plan? would you move nearer your parents?
dunno re talking to J - did the hv say anything? G's advice sounds good, say nothing!

right, DH coming back with an Indian, yum.

simpson · 22/05/2009 20:32

JKS - hope takeaway nice!!

Good plan re changing meds Fingers X it works.

Gingeme - Nope J hasn't asked where DH is either I have told him he has gone on holiday for the mo but feel I need to tell J more.

Did not ask HV in the end as I chickened out

Things a bit shitty TBH as DH wants to come back, his family are pushing me to have him back (because they can't cope) and I don't want him back.

But grim really...

JustKeepSwimming · 23/05/2009 05:54

Simps - sympathies

Interesting that his family think they can't cope - but that you can (with 2 young children to look after too)

imo you should hold firm and tell them/him he's not coming back anytime soon.

Meanwhile, what's his work saying?

T up at 5.09. put back in bed, up at 5.39 so that's good for him. think H still sleeping so want to leave him for a bit.

Read somewhere back in T's previous early rising phase that once children hit 3 they learn to sleep better.....still waiting....!

madmouse · 23/05/2009 08:36

JKS that is my point exactly re Simpson's family. They can't cope so let Simpson do it on her own again. Grrrrrr.

Well dh crawled into bed at 4am (why???) which woke me -grrr my sleep is bad enough and i was exhausted after another day of not coping at work then Nathan up at 7.

Did the ironing before breakfast while he played on the floor. Having reakfast now and then better start packing in earnest.

See y'all next week. Hopefully in a better mood.

xx

JKS - J got better at sleeping when he turned 3 so it could happen

Having said that he was always pretty good and when he was 2 he might have woken at 5.30/6 ish but would stay in his own bed singing etc.

DH supposed to be back at work on 30th so God knows what will happen.

I told him on phone yesterday i did not want him back then late last night a get a barridge of texts about how much he misses me

Also David's sister was supposed to call me last night for a chat and to see what would happen next. No call (what a suprise!!)

The other sister has been totally bad mouthing me around the family saying I am not being supportive etc and I am letting DH down.

When first sister and DH got out of docs yesterday she said he seems much better, looking forward to coming home next wk etc...I sent message back saying I don't want him back and she replied saying we need to talk face to face so she is sending him back anyway

BIL rings yesterday and says that MIL cannot cope with him, one sister is getting over cancer and doesn't need this and the other sister (his wife) don't have space for him...so muggins here is supposed to pick up pieces

Sorry for rant

Just so pissed off with it all TBH

simpson · 23/05/2009 09:47

forgot to say madmouse have a great holiday

AngeChica · 23/05/2009 10:53

stick to your guns Simpson, they're not the ones who've had to make that decision!

here's hoping the change of meds will do the trick JKS - could parents or ILs or DH take kids for afternoon and would you be able to relax and go read or nap without being able to fret?

Seems a bit pathetic in comparison but whatever tooth DS is trying to break through is giving him the worst gip yet. maybe a back molar...? We've had shocking nights and days of fevers, drooling and whinging. DH is also being a martyr due to cricket related broken finger, which he refuses to take painkillers for .

maybe see you next Fri Madmouse, hope you enjoy it. simple strolls in peaceful places.

nicky6 · 23/05/2009 14:25

yeah same here charlie such bad cough that up half the night at the moment.

had a lovely time away just mucking about and walking and eating and sleeping with no responsibility so lovely.

also weather was good too.

anyway all cool here apart from that.

quite fat and pregnant
x

Gingeme · 23/05/2009 22:09

Did I hear someone suggest a meet up x

simpson · 24/05/2009 11:04

it never rains but it pours

J had me up in the night saying his ear was sore, gave calpol etc and this morning it has got all this yellow gunk coming out of it.

Don't think it can wait till tuesday, so going to out of hours clinic at our local hospital, just waiting for my dad to turn up and drive us there...

Gingeme · 24/05/2009 12:40

Oh shit Simpson ! Let us know how he gets on

JustKeepSwimming · 24/05/2009 15:23

Oh Simps - i hope he's ok, you haven't had to spend all afternoon in hospital and they give him some drugs that work asap!

G - dunno about meetup, others were talking about somewhere near wales, tad far for me i think. and not planning beyond the next few days at a time here.

saying that, H had a very good day yesterday, just a few 'nods' and so far today .... nothing

it may be a blip, and we are trying not to get our hopes up but he seems so much happier, has more energy and of course, we are happier with no fits - still twitchy though.

um, hi everyone else hopeefully i will stop posting so much about me & H and can actually pay attention to you all now!

Madm - hope you are having a good time away

LaT - where are you?

nicky - lost track how long left?

ange - sleep? cc? good luck!

right, don't want to waste any more sunshine sat indoors, back tonight

AngeChica · 24/05/2009 20:34

What is this thing they call "sleep" JKS ? Any ideas of training gone out the window as DS has been quite out of sorts last few days. I thought teeth but he has now broken out in spots. Worst on legs, some are blistering up so possibly chicken pox (it's going round). But they don't seem to be bothering him!? Temp down, eating better and playing today so not unduly concerned, just would rather know what it is so can cross off list of childhood illnesses, you know?

hope you got your DS' ear infection sorted Simpson.

JustKeepSwimming · 24/05/2009 20:40

Could be the pox, maybe the worst bit is before the spots come out? dunno.

hope sleep happens for you one day!!!

H not happy to go to bed tonight, weird for him. he's been so lively and happy (when up) today, we are wondering if he is becoming more 'normal' and given that he got up at 5pm, going to bed at 7 wasn't his fave idea?!!?!
(can remember having a deadline of about 3.30/4 to wake T up or he wouldn't go to bed for 7 that night)

If he suddenly turns 'normal' i'm in for a shock, having the 2 of them up more of the day, lol & pmsl!!

AngeChica · 25/05/2009 22:18

Wow. Did you kill the thread!?

simpson · 25/05/2009 22:19

Where is everyone today??

Enjoying the nice weather and going away on holiday...

Ange - hope A is ok??

JKS - hope H has had a good day

Lucky - where are you??

Well not too bad here.

J got hefty dose of AB's which hopefully should kick in soon, but bless him his ear is all blocked so I he can't hear anything
