Madmouse - will be thinking of you tomorrow.

What time is appt???

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 07:37

Thinking of you today Madmouse.
The trip away can be your reward for bravery, honesty & openness today

madmouse · 21/05/2009 08:49

Appointment is 2.30 - have friends coming from Oxford (fellow wives-of theological students that are still there) with their kids. They will stay until after lunch so that is good distraction.

Thanks JKS and Simpson - very stressed about it. Had a bad night as well - Nathan had screaming fit at dinner time - inconsolable then seemed to get absolutely high on a dose of Neurofen but only had two yogurts for dinner. Then discovered at midnight he had a temp was all hot flushed and bothered - had to go hunting for thinner grobag too. Then could not sleep and awake again early even though Nathan slept like a log- aaaargh. Was pretty sure though it was teething and he is right as rain this morning!

Hope you all have good days.

MM well done on losing weight again - your fantastic race for life success must have spurred you on.

Nicky hope physio helps - it is important

madmouse - am thinking of you today ((hugs))

JKS is right the trip away can be your reward

Been totally manic this morning.

Have finally got round to using slow cooker so have put dinner on. Will let you all know how it turns out.

At docs with M at 11.20 for calcium supplement prescription (might also get her to look at M's skin tags on bum as they are still there)

Not going to get back in time for J's lunch then school so he is having a Mcdonalds for lunch which he is most pleased about but M can't eat it so rushing around cooking her chicken nuggets/fish fingers to take with me.

Also have got to try and get 2 RL friends LO's birthday presents before docs.

Am knackered just typing it all, let alone doing it

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 10:24

Simpson - lol i'm tired just reading it!!! good luck with docs.

Madmouse - will send positive vibes northward at 2.30 then

just had a funny thing happen - 2 separate women popped round to find out how we are all doing, and they are both chatterboxes, so although they don't know each other, they were nattering away, i was a bit like 'shall i just leave you guys to it?!'

anyway, H sleeping, laundry about to go on the line, peace reigning until 12 when i have to wake H and get T from pre-sch - why can't they keep them longer, eh?

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 13:19

Afternoon all .
Sorry MM didn't see your message , hope this afternoon goes ok. I am sure it won't be as terrible as you are thinking! Hopefully she will be lovely. Think the weather suppose to be brighter over here this weekend. Hva elovely time.
We off to France tom! Have packed but keep taking things in and out. Nightmare covering every weather eventuality

simpson · 21/05/2009 13:35

Madmouse - will think of you at 2.30

Phew, first time i have had a chance to sit down today!!

Well food in slow cooker smells yummy so fingers X. Was a bit worried about leaving it on while out and thinking I would come home to the fire brigade outside

Got M's prescription. Its like a syrup she takes twice a day. So at least I don't have to worry about forcing feeding Molly neocate so much!!

Also got birthday pressies although one of them I was organised enough to choose on t'internet last night so just a matter of buying it.

J only late by 5mins at school. There was a poor woman outside the gate standing with a teacher and her little girl (in J's class) was having the most horrific hissy fit and wouldn't go in the classroom. It was all because she wasn't allowed a biscuit before leaving the house. I looked and thought to myself that M will be just the same at that age...

J & M both got given balloons at mcdonalds so cue tots of rows. I tied them both to buggy and lots of "Molly's got my balloon" etc. Enough to drive me mad!!

Where has LaT got to??

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 13:38

Lily - good luck packing for 5!
hoping for good weather for airshow this weekend.

Simps - sounds good re calcium meds.

H just had another big fit, taken it out of him this time he's knackered again so off to bed soon. only woken at 12. fallen asleep on my lap best put him to bed...

simpson · 21/05/2009 13:41

JKS - poor H

And poor you ((hugs))

How long did they say it would take for meds to stabilise?

And for him to be on largest dose?

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 13:43

JKS are you ok ?????

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 13:49

Not really ok tbh.

he seemed to take so long to come round, i was too worried to put him to bed straight away as i wanted him to show me he was ok first. all he wanted to do was to go to bed.

he's on the full dose from next tuesday. then it should be clear in the following 2 or 3 weeks if this drug will work, so not too long really.

the doc seemed keener on the next drug than this one so part of me wants to change and of course the other part wants the fits to stop asap...

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 13:51

((hugs)) Does he generally want to fall asleep immediately then ??
Can you not ring the consultant and ask her for her advice ?? Is there any benefit of sticking to this one rather than trying the other one now ??
Sorry don't know what else to say , you must feel so helpless!

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 13:56

I think we have to give this one a fair go. but maybe we could increase to the full dose quicker, i mean he's had 2 big ones already today, admittedly will prob be in bed till 5, but could have another one before bed.
and 3 a day feels like way too many to just leave.
this morning's one was only 30secs and he came round pretty quickly.
but yes he seems to want to go to bed straight away. which sounds simple but when i'm worrying if he's even back 'with us' it doesn't feel like a sensible thing to do.

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 14:01

Have they given you any pointers to help you know if he has fully come round even if he is very sleepy ?
Might be worth upping the dose as that does seem a lot considering he wasn't having any the other day.
Is there any reason they can increase (tiredness , illness etc) or does it just depend on the day?
Would you need to let his consultant know ?

It still seems so odd to be typing this about H

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 14:05

Believe me it is very odd.

They haven't said anything specific about coming round. just that to keep him safe, count how long it is, then keep a record of it.
if it lasts into the 3 or 4 mins mark, then start dialling 999. at 5mins, give oral midazolam (emergency drug) and tell 999 what's happening.
they can give him a second dose of it when they arrive if it still hasn't stopped.
and it's a hosp trip after any midazolam dose as it slows the brain function right down, which can interfere with other things like breathing.

all mad stuff that does my head in tbh.

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 14:13

God JKS i cannot begin to imagine, it must be so hard when he sleeps for so long as well.
God praying things settle down for him really quickly.

simpson · 21/05/2009 14:18

JKS hun.

So sorry ((hugs))

Can you not ring and speak to consultant and let them know you don't think this medication is working to get the other one started sooner??

simpson · 21/05/2009 14:19

Just had bad news here too

DH texted and said he is not doing too good

So doesn't look like he will be back anytime soon.

Can't get hold of anyone in his family to let me know what is going on..

madmouse · 21/05/2009 16:14

Just back and too drained to type much

but hugs for you both JKS and Simpson

JKS don't be afraid to ring consultant - they are used to it and will ring back. Feel so horrid hun that the fits show no sign of slowing down

Simpson - keep me posted - I am around

OP posts:
Gingeme · 21/05/2009 16:17

Oh my I don't know what to say. Reading through you all seem to be having such a hard time of it today and there was me a bout to have a moan about Georges early awakenings the past couple of mornings
Thanks for the bin advice. Its brill already and none of the boys can open it though George tried to climb on it this morning
Lillyloo I'll be packing for 5 on Monday. Were going to my Mums in Deal for the half term. Taking my big boys too they can do their own packing
Simpson we always refuse balloons from McD's for that exact reason. Plus Edward always wants to hold his and 9 times out of 10 it blows away cue crying and wanting to go back and get another one etc. Just not worth it for a balloon.
My eye is back to normal at last. I can see single images out of it now. Still using the eye drops though till they run out.
Right time to look in the freezer for some tea.

simpson · 21/05/2009 16:28

Well slow cooker a big hit

Although yet again under estimated how much M will eat so she is now chomping on my portion

Looks like I will be cooking again this evening

Gingeme · 21/05/2009 20:25

Yey Simpson

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 21:07

JKS hope H didn't have anymore fits!

Simps i cannot believe that none of his family are keeping you informed how he is doing Will he speak to you or just text ? Glad the slow cooker working LOL at M eating yours!!

Mmouse hope it was ok if draining ??

Gingeme have lovely time glad the eye easing up!!

If i don't get back on hope you all have nice half term.
Hoping that H is turning a corner when i post again JKS.
And Dh is too Simps, and you MM!!!

Take care all and see you next Sunday

simpson · 21/05/2009 21:13

Lilyloo - have a good time

JustKeepSwimming · 21/05/2009 21:22

Lilyloo - have a fun time!

Simps - for you and dh. you def need to find out what the heck is going on. is he seeing docs over there?
Glad M loves your cooking! so te clow cooker worth getting then? i'm also worried about leaving it on and going out.
haven't got round to buying one yet...

Madm - hope the session doesn't spark off bad thought for tonight. when do you expect to hear anything?

G - don't worry i can totally relate to early morning and how soul-destroying it can feel. we dream of 6am!! was 5.45 today.

H didn't have any more fits today thank god.
he was really grumpy when he woke up and was hard work - very much not like him. think he may have got dehydrated and warm in bed. must rememebere to open a window when it's warm.

anyway he had a bath fine and went to bed no probs.
fingers crossed for a calmer day tomorrow.

i was meant to be working so booked the boys into nursery, but not happy about H going back just yet. so T will go, H & I will have a boring, quiet day at home, just the 2 of us

how is everyone else doing???
