Remember I said Reese was very very fussy over the weekend. I "thought" it was tummy related so I stopped the one occasional tasting session every few days. She never ran a fever but since Saturday she's had two really icky diapers. Now she has spots all over her torso. I'm not panicing and have found this which goes along with my instincts. I'll watch her through the night and probably take her to pediatrician in the morning.

Life with baby is never dull.

Morning ts, lovely new thread. Thanks for the coffee - yum!
Hope Reese is ok.

oopsacoconut · 28/01/2009 08:43

BOOOOOOO!

We got sleep last night (at least more than 2 hourly naps!)

oopsacoconut · 28/01/2009 08:45

TS missed your message {{HUGS}} and I hope Reese is a little better. Viral rashes are very common in littlies - but if in doubt get it checked out.

cyteen · 28/01/2009 09:13

morning! great new thread title TS, hugs to you and Reese - hope she's better soon

longwayfromhome · 28/01/2009 09:19

I hope that Reese gets better soon.

What do you guys do when your DCs are chatty, happy and awake at 5am?

Spend two hours trying to get them back to sleep or appreciate the time with a happy child?

7.15 here now and I have just made DH get up and make me breakfast.

sarahnh · 28/01/2009 09:26

hope Reese gets well soon.

why oh why does Tess not sleep??? got a grand totally of 3 hours sleep last night.. i am so tired, she just seems so restless at night waking up all the time... finally gave up at 5.30am, her big sis woke at 6.30 and then i made breakfast for both of them for an hour!!!!!

Glad the meet up went really well, i am so shy in rl that although i would really love to meet everyone, would probably just sit there like a lemon!!!

hope everyone has a good day, its raining here so a quick trip to the shops and staying in for me today!!!xxxx

longwayfromhome · 28/01/2009 10:09

Sarah, sorry to hear that you had such a rubbish night. Lots of sympathy. You are not alone!

Probably not the case in the UK , but Tom slept better last night when I took all his clothes off and let him sleep in his nappy.

Anyway - one vote from sarah for getting up at 5.30am. Anyone else?

Morning all, any of that builder's tea left from yesterday?

TS - hope that Reese gets better soon.

Sarah - hope you have a calm day to make up for last night.

Over here Mr. Steak and I had a lively discussion over Izzy's bedtime routine yesterday, but we calmed down and managed to sort things out.
Other than that I got accused of being delusional and had threats of being sued yesterday. Which I am not too worried about for the following reasons:

1)- I am right, they are wrong and I can prove it
2) - it wouldn't be worth their time and effort
3) - I am delusional so obviously made it all up anyway.

La La La - twirls around new tent - delusional Moi!?

AnnVan · 28/01/2009 10:51

Morning all.

longway - seb frequently wakes up chatty at strange hours. I generaaly get up with him, as I have learned that there's no point trying to get him back to sleep and all I acheive to stress myself (and him) out.

cyteen · 28/01/2009 10:58

blimey steak, sounds like you had an eventful day.

new pic of DS on my profile

AnnVan · 28/01/2009 11:02

aaaw lovely cyteen what nappy is that - fuzzi bunz?

Sibh · 28/01/2009 11:02

Good morning all.
Two terrible nights here with DD2 refusing to go to bed until midnight when she always falls asleep during DS's songs at 8. Anyway, this morning has brought a v. odd nappy -very sticky and like a weaned nappy if you see what I mean, so I'm guessing she just hasn't felt right. Or that DD1 has started weaning her when I'm not looking

Longway-it might take Tom a while to settle back into the new time zone. 'Appreciating' any child at 5:30 has always been beyond me. It's good to know everyone is back safe from their jaunts.

Sibh · 28/01/2009 11:07

Ah Cyteen. He is truly scrumptious.

cyteen · 28/01/2009 11:10

Ann yes, it's a FB. And he has just filled it, the cheeky tinker, so I'd better go and sort it out!

Sibh sorry to hear of poorly DD2 Hope she seems perkier now that throughput has been achieved.

Does anyone know if teething can upset a baby's stomach? Joe is always quite pukey but the last few days have seen a vomit volcano of quite epic proportions, plus lots of unusually stinky farts and poos. I know his teeth are bugging him a bit at the moment so wondered if there's any connection.

Steaknife · 28/01/2009 11:12

Cyteen - these things are sent to try us as my mother would say. I am going to rise above it, I have far far more important things to think about.

f'rinstance, this morning I put the little table on Izzy's high chair. She loves it, though is still not sure what a spoon is for.
I tried her with a little cup the other day. She wasn't impressed. It didn't quack like a duck, it wasn't furry and there wasn't any convenient sticky out bits to suck on.

AnnVan · 28/01/2009 11:39

steak that sounds like fun. Out of curiosity, why were they threatening to sue you??

Sibh commiserations on bad night. Last night here wasn't too bad. Not hideous but could have been better.

Ooh I have to add my admiration of Miamla's fantastic home-made sling. I was most impressed. THink you could go into business Miamla

Thinking about yesterday, I'm quite sorry I didn't circulate more. D'oh. So there were people I didn't get to chat to that much.

kevTheBuilder · 28/01/2009 11:53

VG...please give a WARNING next time. My sound was up when I clicked your link and let's just say, the neighbors are now properly awake. LOL

Dizzy, Kev needs his pay. Where'd you put the mad money jar??

On the wild hour wakes, Reese gets to lay in her bed and talk to her stuffed animals. Unless it's like this morning where I couldn't sleep either so she scored some time in her activity center.

Both DCs up in the middle of the night. DD2 to feed at 1:30am and DD1 to grumble about sleeping arrangements at 3am. DD2 went back to sleep in her bed. DD1 went back to sleep IN MY BED.

Reese's spots are not as vivid this morning (or the lighting is bad in here). I don't really want to take her to the doc because SO MUCH SICKNESS is going round. Everybody seems to have a tummy bug. Which is what I think Reese caught a mild version of. She didn't poo yesterday. So waiting to see what she does today then I'll decide. She's not running a fever. She's eating normally. She's playing and laughing and happy. Other than my paranoid mommyness and her spots I have no reason to take her to see anyone.

Oh and Kev, why grumble about loosing all the work with the new thread?? Tis only a name change NOT an address change. See there's the pile of nails you forgot to clean up yesterday. {{twilight points to far corner where nails and nail gun remain.}}
