Helloooooo. have been out all afternoon.little man throwing a fit, somehow managing to wail even while on the boob have no idea what's wrong with him.

Sibh · 29/01/2009 19:02

Happy birthday Miamla.
It has been very quiet today on MN, but noisy in RL. DD1 has been really tricky.
By 9:30 I was saying 'come here by the count of five or we won't be going to music group.' Whole, half and quarter numbers didn't help so we both missed out on our favourite bit of the week.

She is 2.8 though and has given up her sunshine in favour of being really rude and it seemed like it was finally time to give the bold behaviour proper consequences. (I am consistent, but up till now we've been able to deal with small things one at a time, and by today I was time to try to dislodge a bad run of behaviour).

Is it too early for that Oops? She is a bright little thing, making up her own stories, following complext instructions etc. and she didn't actually kick up a fuss about the music class because she could see that she had really been out of order.
And we had a dancing session with bubbles here later in the day.
I'm making excuses for myself now.

DD2, just to put bells on it, has only slept for 40 mins today in my arms which of course didn't help DD1 to feel any better. She went back to her night-time routine last night, but I think her teeth are making her much less settled in the day.

What a me, me, me rant.
VG- I forgot to say that your description of yourself on the last thread was priceless.

PetitFilou1 · 29/01/2009 19:18

annvan I'd put money on it being teething trouble - I am going through calgel and teetha granules at a rate of knots atm. Toby is all smiles 10 minutes after application of both but needs regular dosing up. He is a very smily happy baby but atm is hard work as his mouth is definitely sore.

Sibh · 29/01/2009 19:21

Was today better for you pf?

Sibh · 29/01/2009 19:22

It does sound like teeth Ann.
DD2 makes a kind of low moaning noise when she's feeding if her teeth hurt.

PetitFilou1 · 29/01/2009 19:23

Happy b'day to you miamla - if it is ok you can have one of my years back as I think you are considerably younger than me

but ewwww on the lucky charms - cheerios are bad enough it is like eating meringue for breakfast - nice thought though

TS Sorry to hear about your Grandma - if she has had Alzheimers though I can understand how her passing may come as a relief. My mum's friend has it already at the age of 59

PetitFilou1 · 29/01/2009 19:26

sibh This morning no, had hideous row with dh (involving me leaving in the car for half an hour - but then I do have 'anger management' issues)

this afternoon yes, had friend over and children for playdate and it was nice to have the company

dh and I have made up too - he is very forgiving fortunately when I have one of my red mist attacks

thanks for asking. Hope your dds now behaving themselves

Miamla · 29/01/2009 19:36

thanks for al your happy birthdays
today's been lovely but will tell all when i've got more than one hand to type with!

pf, i'm intrigued...how old do you think i am?

Ann, Reese and Seb are obviously on the same page. But I will give her credit...she was a doll while shopping for two hours today. Just hung out in my moby. Different child now. Fussy Fussy Fussy. Would the teeth come in ALREADY!!

I have created dd1 an ensemble from fashion line. I got her that coat, a black sweater with a zebra patterned heart on the front, a black faux-velvet mini skirt, black tights and these rain boots. The weather will be very cold at the funeral (it's 5 hours north of here) and maybe snowing. She LOvES the outfit. That's a good thing because she's NOT going to like the event. I already had Reese something in my closet but I decided these boots would look perfect with her ensemble and I also found her a matching hooded coat but the website lacks a picture of it. I want my girls to look beautiful for the celebration of their GREATGRANDMOTHER's life.

miamla I'm not sure tbh but you are certainly not almost 37!

vg Yes you feel like a muppet when you've left don't you. I went to Tescos, for want of a place to go, and bought lunch for both of us. That really told him didn't it

Steaknife · 29/01/2009 19:52

Miamla - happy bday from me too. I hope you continue to enjoy your day.

Izzy and I went out for a lovely walk this afternoon - our usual route, but I remembered to take the eaphones for my phone so I could have music and the sun was out and the fields were all white with snow still. Beautiful. I even worked up enough of a sweat to discard gloves, hat, scarf and coat for a bit.

Iz slept through the whole thing, which was of course the purpose but I came back all smiley and happy too. Yay.

I found out suing-boy paid 24 quid for his legal advice from one of those online advice sites. He cut and pasted my email to him and left in my full name. I am going to email the site and ask them to remove my name at the least and possibly the whole lot if I can convince them it is against their T&C's

VG - you clearly have the boy-flu and should be lying on the sofa waving the remote control around.

Sausageandmash · 29/01/2009 19:57

I second/third the sentiment of those of us who are unable to complete a full and satisfying flounce post argument! I have, on at least three occasions, left the house and then stood on the street corner thinking damn, wish I'd left with my coat/fags (when I smoked)/semblance of a plan, etc. Luckily, I've never left without a key, which would be pretty cringey, methinks!

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2009 20:00

S&M...I'd have been the one you left without the key...and probably shoes, in the freezing rain. LOL

Steaknife you stroll sounds dreamy.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2009 20:06

crap not you left
i'd have been the one who walked about without her key.

shall report brain missing now.

OMG Miamla I can't believe you are the same age as me! I thought you were about 23!

Operation Shagathon hangs in the balance tonight as DH is out tonight and will have to wake me up v late. He has come up with the forfeit that if a night gets missed we have to start all over again! Am shocked to find myself actually quite daunted by that.

PetitFilou1 · 29/01/2009 20:17

miamla Think I would have said 29/30 - people used to think I was 5 or 6 years younger than I am - since I have had children they usually guess my age

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2009 20:19

Miamla if I were placing a bet on your age. I would have placed the bet on the number 28.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2009 20:20

Wait! Did I miss something?? Did Miamla already tell us how old she was???? DUH! I know where to look.........

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/01/2009 20:20

bit late for 3x rings I think

Happy Birthday Miamla Loved your sling and your hair btw.

I may be a bit late but meet up was lovely, very didn't get to speak to everyone, and very not everyone could make it (obviously)

RL been bit mad, dentist, pain, tantrums and 2 dcs teething.

Anyhoo hope you are all well.
vg your description of yourself the other day certainly was not true.

I have flounced off many a time pre children, but the very last time I was so annoyed I checked into a hotel for the night on his credit card to prove a point. as I always came running back.

alittlebitshy · 29/01/2009 20:21

miamla my dh couldn't belive you were over 30 (blown your cover lol) - he reckoned (from seeing you while he was sat in car and you poked head out door ) you were 25-6.

pf poor you. I think i too have "anger management" issues. I've been known to storm out of house and walk endlessly round block. Shamefully I have stormed out after row with dd twice in last month (dh has been there with dc). need to knock that one of head cos don;t want a traumatised dd

Just popping on before i tackle my ironing.

Argh.

vg feel better soon.

annvan hope Seb's ok.

We had hideous night. 2 wake ups - no idea of times- lost in the fog. second one included 2 feeds, a complete change (wee) and when dh went to cuddle ds to sleep ds HOWLED until I took him back - then stared at dh til dh left the room ......

Hoping for better tonight....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/01/2009 20:21

off to catch up.

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2009 20:21

I know!
I know!
I know!

I know how old Miamla really is.
