Just saying hi

LaTurkey · 27/12/2008 11:28

Filly's going to be so cross....

We're ok. The calm before the next bit of storm, I think. Sabela has a cold and is producing adult-sized quantities of mucus, which she like to play with . We have to get there pretty swift withthe hanky.

We also got tooth number 5 for Christmas!

Have to go as DH needs to work.

Do you all keep your DCs in if they have a cold? I think I should as she's a bit chesty but she does get bored without her walk!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 27/12/2008 12:08

Just getting on new thread

DD is a bit snotty too but we are braving it and going to argos (only round corner) to buy a new toaster later today....

MrsMcClaus · 27/12/2008 13:01

Thanks for your support Lucky and Housemum I am always very grateful for clothes for DS from the UK because they are so expensive and generally impractical here and MIL normally makes great choices for him, oddly though, he didn't get any clothes for Christmas he got a wooden jigsaw puzzle.

LaT - hope Sabela feels much better soon.

Just been to Toys R Us and bought DS a ball pit. It's for his birthday but he is getting it early as we can't wait to see him playing in it! takes up the rest of our lounge (already cluttered with his play pen and activity station) but hey ho!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 27/12/2008 13:31

Well DH just got back from The Entertainer and they won't take back DD's v tech toy as we have no recept.

It was a fecking gift FFS.

So have a perfectly good toy that is a waste of money. Grrr....

madmouse · 27/12/2008 13:37

Simpson do you have anything to prove that it came from the entertainer? It does not have to be a receipt. This is in the territory of the famous 'statutory rights' as it is broken.

LaT hello . I never keep Nathan in to be honest, when he is bunged up and chesty and can actually make him feel better and I do not see what can happen.

JKS how was Christmas?

OP posts:
simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 27/12/2008 14:55

Madmouse - have nothing but word of mouth to prove where it came from

Going to try the Entertainer H/O or V Tech H/O when they open but am still at the Mgr in Entertainer. He sounded about 12

LaT - another one who normally takes DD out if she is a bit snotty. She usually perks up as she is not so bored iyswim.

Housemum · 27/12/2008 16:51

Simpsons - keep calm for now, hopefully Vtech HO will be helpful - I've dealt with Fisher Price before and they were really good so fingers crossed VTech are the same. Do you want to just change it for something else? If so, I'm shocked that the store won't change it as a matter of goodwill - after all, they can just send it back to VTech as faulty.

Don't worry about taking DD out if she's snotty - fresh air works wonders, and my DDs won't sleep well if they haven't been out of the house.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 27/12/2008 17:05

Housemum - yes I just want to exchange it for another one that works Will try V Tech on Monday. Or will complain to Entertainer H/O I guess....

Me and DH are going out tonight!! Woo Hoo!! My mum is baby sitting

Just going out for a meal but should be nice...

madmouse · 27/12/2008 21:19

still quiet on here...

you think people lost in cyberspace looking for this thread?

ginge, lucky, laT, JKS and the rest where are ye lot?

Have news: Nathan has verbal diaorhhea and cannot stop talking except when asleep. Has discovered dadadadadadadadada today but won't say it when dh is in the room and for some reason phsl when he does say it. Totally insane, this baby sitting in his bumbo bent double with giggles going dadadadadadadada teeheeheegngngn

and....he has started to push himself from tummy into crawling position. It is very very hard on his poor arm and he cannot quite stretch it to where he can hold the position, but he does get his tummy off the ground, yay

AngeChica · 27/12/2008 21:49

I'm here, just relaxing for a bit and catching up on recorded christmas tv ... MIL gone .

Exciting news Madmouse. I reckon Nathan will find his own style of locomotion, he's clearly v determined. You'll then be wistful for the days he stayed in one place

Had to fish dog biscuits out of DS's mouth today, I cannot turn my back for a second without him finding some sort of mischief.

Hope you had a good night out Simpson. Hi to everyone else.

AngeChica · 27/12/2008 21:55

We braved the next sale this morning and got a few really good things dead cheap so am chuffed. DP(F ) bought a spice rack which contains 24 spices for £20 and is stupidly over the moon!!!

We think we may have set a date of April 2010!! Can I plan a wedding in a year, can I lose enough weight in a year? OMGGGG

madmouse · 27/12/2008 22:01

sorry for missing you out Ange, and well done for list

Alek sounds like hard work. But I cannot wait for the day nathan is like that. Although today I left him in his room playing with his new little people train set and hung the laundry in the spare room. it went realy quiet so I went to checck and found that he had rolled over to the nappy trolley and was busy emptying the bottom shelf: wipes, nappy bags, sudocrem, vaselin...monkey

just dragged lucky over from facebook

Good evening ladies. We had a brilliant Christmas. All a bit overwhelming for the boys but it was all good. George has a disgusting couhg now thanks to ds3 but other than that we are all in fine fettle. Tooth number 8 has come through the bottom. ds4 has 4 new molars just poking through. His last teeth now thank good ness.
Hope everyone is well.
Sorry for no personals. My big boys came today so might not get look in with the pc for the next few days.
Take care xxx

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 28/12/2008 10:56

Morning all

Gingeme - Enjoy your big boys staying DD also has a horrid cough and is having her morning nap already

DS complaining that he is bored with all these new Xmas toys to play with

Going to my mum's today for lunch as my youngest brother is back from university.

Forgot to mention earlier that his girlfriend who he has been with for 18mths is from New Zealand (my bro spent his gap year there) has to go back to NZ soon as her visa runs out. My bro is gutted and there has been talk of marriage to keep her here. You can imagine my mum's reaction, totally He is only 21 and he doesn't want to marry her...just wants her to stay in this country iyswim.

Luckily that is now not going to happen and plan B is being thought about....

MrsMcClaus · 28/12/2008 11:10

Hey ladies extremely wet and windy day here today (yes, we have them too ) luckily DH and I had planned that we?d have a lazy day looking at pressies etc. DH made some noise about having to go out for my birthday present (it?s tomorrow) and then I reminded him that shops don?t open here on a Sunday so it?s looks like I won?t get a pressie for the 3rd year running! You lot must think I am so materialistic, I?m not, but it is the thought that counts not a last minute attempt the day before when he?s had a year to get me something ?..and breathe!!!

DS?s ball pit is a massive hit, both with him and with Daddy and with the cats come to mention it!! one of them was leaping from one side to the other chasing all the balls, was very funny to watch.

Oh Simpson how infuriating about DD?s toy! Hope you make some progress with vTech. DS got the phone from my folks, he loves it! Glad you had a lovely dinner

Hello Housemum, what plans do you have for Amelie?s birthday? Some champers for Mummy?

Angechica ? LOL about the dog biscuits, everything goes into DS?s mouth here too. Especially paper, yuck, I cringe just thinking about paper on my teeth. Thanks for reposting the birthday list ? where has the year gone?

LaT ? hope you are ok hon? Sabela is first up for her birthday! What are you going to do to celebrate??

Hello MM ? sounds like Nathan is busy working off some of the Christmas excesses already good on him, you must be so proud of him! You are certainly getting more use out of your bumbo than I did too.

Lucky ? I reckon wedding planning takes as long as you have to do it in to be honest! I had exactly 10 months. I lost some of the weight I wanted to lose but put some on again the week before from all the partying it didn?t matter though, my dress was fine. I got this book www.amazon.com/Perfect-Bride-Complete-Exercise-Countdown/dp/0600612449/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qi d=1230462159&sr=1-6, it was excellent, and my skin has never looked as good.

Gingeme ? have fun with all your boys hope the cough clears up soon.

What are you all doing for New Year?s Eve??

LaTurkey · 28/12/2008 11:30

Hi guys,

Well, Sabela's birthday on the first means that all my friends are away so no party on the 1st weekend. We were planning to have one the following weekend as my bf was due to visit. It's looking more and more likely that my bro will be here though, and he's not a very 'kids party' sort of a person, so I think we'll just keep things very small. DH is oging to make her a cake . He insists it is him that does it!

I'm feeling a bit fragile, which is why I'm not being a very good group member but I hope you bear with me.

Lucky - That's plenty of time. The most important thing is to book the place where you are getting maried and the reception venue. Everything else is just kind of fun! Invites etc you do about 6 weeks before which is all a bit scary. One tip: Don't tell tradespeople that it's for a wedding if you can help it. You tend to get stung for double! For example, we got a friend of a friend to make the cake. It's her hobby. We booked out a restaurant which we love but doesn't usually do weddings and it was fabulous and fabulously cheap. It also meant a limit to the numbe rof invites and therefore cost less. The next option was the golf club and we could have had hundreds. Nightmare, IMO. Everyone there was someone we truly loved. Oh! And you have to start looking for a dress about 6 months before for alterations and ordering. There's a fab wedding dress shop in Aberystwyth if you fancy it! I LOVE wedding dresses, even now.

Well done Nathan! Can he send some 'move it move it' vibes to Sabela please?

MrsMcClaus · 28/12/2008 12:02

Poor you LaT, no winder, come and talk and we will try and cheer you up whenever you feel like it.

Lucky - on the back of what LaT says, I agree but I'd advise getting invitations out as early as you can that way you are less likely to be disappointed although believe me you will be shocked at how many people don't bother to RSVP. I got my dress from Berketex and they were shocked when I only had 10 months, they said you may need longer so my advice would be to go dress shopping as soon as you can too

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 28/12/2008 12:10

LaT - you are a great group member Sorry you are feeling fragile though...

Mrs Mcjnr - Glad Xavier likes his ball pit. We wouldn't have the room unfortunately...

Re NYE unfortunately DH is working so will just be a normal night for me but i don't mind as at least i won't have a hang over the next day

DD just woken for new nap in a very mad mood. She is really snotty and her voice sounds a bit hoarse bless her!!

LaTurkey · 28/12/2008 12:15

Thanks guys,

I found a telephone call / email address on the invite was MUCH better than expecting people to send back a reply card.

Some people really are too cowardly to say no though and just leave it and leave it.

MrsMcClaus · 28/12/2008 12:29

Simpson - we don't have the space either! our lounge is the size of a postage stamp and we have to balance the ball pit on top of the playpen at night for us to get to the couch but it keeps DS amused!

Gingemejinglybells · 28/12/2008 12:31

Afternoon ladies.
Its a busy household with all the boys being here. Lots of noise and chatting! All getting stuck in with the toys though
Mooncup week this week Luckily the big boys bought me some Guylian chocs for Christmas so they have realy helped.
MrsMcClaus dh is working NYE till 10.30 so we will have a couple of drinks and maybe nibbles when he gets home to see the New Year in.
Why are you feeling fragile LaT?
Simpson can't believ your ds. Hows your dd on the new milk?
Thanks for the list Ange. I know people have said it a million times but oh boy has it gone fast?
Well off to make lunch for the hungry hoards.
Have a good day all xxx

madmouse · 28/12/2008 15:18

Lucky, your wish is my command, we do not have a camcorder but Nathan was in the mood for a speech at lunchtime and dh did a fab job with our digital camera. It is on facebook. You can even hear me say we are going to upload it for you

Hey laT, hugs to you, no surprise you are feeling fragile. Hope you can go for a nice long walk with Sabela xx

Ginge you love having all your boys together don't you
