LaT - What did you do today? Hope Sabela liked her cake!!

All our Christmas decorations have come down now and it attic along with a few presents that DS showed no interest in and will be useful for birthday parties etc.

DD had no tea tonight which is not like her at all especially since she is not ill or anything. I think she might not like pasta as I am sure the last time I cooked it for her she turned her nose up at it too.

So instead she had some blueberries and a banana

JustKeepSingingCarols · 01/01/2009 19:02

Our decorations down too - though not made it to loft yet...boxes in spare room upstairs.
Leant some to a local church so need to wait for them really as i'd like to put them all up together
Managed to persuade DS1 to put all the different colour baubles in different bags - am i leading him into anal-dom too?!

Should have probably kept back some of DS2's presents for birthday.
Though thought of a present i never got round to for Christmas that will work well - helium balloons!
Will get 2 so both boys can have one, and may get funny shaped ones that are a bit more expensive.
Got some pjs in the sales yesterday that will get wrapped up too (plus some other clothes for DS1 for next year).
Even saw some Christmas ones that will be perfect for DS2 for Christmas Eve! tad more organised than usual but Simpson you are inspiring me!!

Laundry mountain still threatening to avalanche in the kitchen so best go....

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 01/01/2009 22:08

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SABELA CONGRATULATIONS GEORGE

How did the day go LaTrucha? Any good tips to make ours go smoothly?
Ginge am very of George walking. DD is soooo close. She stands for long periods of times and you can see her reaching for stuff but not actually taking the step. She getting very good at leaning down to pick stuff up and getting up without holding onto anything but doesn't want to take the first step.

DD is getting better but have been having a few horrid nights with her. Waking nearly every hour SCREAMING. It sounds like something is seriously wrong with her but I found last night that if she's sleeping on me then she sleeps better so we did that last night and the night went better but I kept waking up from just not being comfortable.
I've put her back into her bed tonight as she seems better but if she starts again she can come back to bed with me.

NYE was boring - we watched the fireworks on the TV then went to bed! lol

Hope your all ok and I'm sorry I've missed anyone.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 01/01/2009 22:09

Oh decs were gonna come down today but just too tired so I'll be doing it tomorrow to try to make some space for all her toys!! lol

simpson · 01/01/2009 22:15

Lucky - I got so pied off with the state of our house being a tip that I lost it and me and DH did an hour on the house.

This included decs/tree in loft, calpol stain scrubbed from DD's carpet, laundry put away,a load of washing put on and dishwasher put on then emptied.

Tomorrow want to get a big plastic container with lid for DS to keep his train set in as bits are getting everywhere and nearly tripped while carrying DD.

We still haven't bought a hoover have been borrowing next doors. Have decided I want a Henry/Hetty so will try and get that in the next few days....

LuckySalem · 01/01/2009 22:21

I feel better it's me again...

Simps I'm after this or this for toys.

I kinda want both the big box for downstairs and the bench for upstairs.

simpson · 01/01/2009 22:45

I like them both TBH but prefer the first one

Good value for money I might look at it for DS. He has a spider man house (wendy house to you and me!!) in his room as I thought he would like his own "den" iyswim. But he never goes in it so might take it down as his room is quite small and get a toy box for him.

I have some toy boxes from wilkinsons can't do links they are basically just cartons and they stack on top of each other. We have 3, 2 are downstairs and one is in Ds's room.

When you get to the stage where you have lots of lego, jigsaw, train set small pieces it drives you mad Grrr...

Also worth getting a cheap book case as by the time they are 2 they will have loads

LuckySalem · 01/01/2009 22:49

We've already got the bookcase. We've got the stackables but it just doesn't look very nice for downstairs. I only want the bench one for upstairs cos DD likes me to sit with her till she's fallen asleep and getting off the floor is hard work

madmouse · 01/01/2009 22:57

Nathan has this in his room, but with different sized boxes in red blue and green. You can just take the boxes out of the frame to take to wherever you are playing and it is indestructable.

Those tox boxes Lucky never hold very much and if they are electronic toys and things with batteries (or is that the same )being piled on top of each other always sets them off.

simpson · 01/01/2009 22:58

Lucky - you are so bad for me

I ,may have to buy one now!! Then I can have a "proper" conversation about what toys DS wants in his room etc rather than them being in front room.

Personally I would go for the first one...hope its easy to put together though!!

mixedmama · 02/01/2009 11:33

Have been keeping up with the convo, so just saying hi again.

Happy New year ladies and Happy Birthday to Sabela and those coming up... I will be rubbish at keeping up.

Gingeme - I am up for a meet up, I dont work on Tues and Thurs.

Am back on weight loss mission on Monday, am still doing weight watchers but still have a last stubborn stone to lose, managed to do exercise dvd yesterday so very pleased but then ate loads of rubbish in the evening - never mind.... back to it on monday.

Simpson and Lucky - We couldnt stand the mess and sorted the house out on boxing day. The kids have a play area in our living room, carpet like a playmat and the big bits (walker, ride on) ans a plastic box with lid with some cars and things in. Their bedroom is very small but they have a little craft table that DS1 has a jungle play thing on with his animals and the lego boxes (we have more than one). We only have a small flat but the DSs bedroom is directly opposite the living room but does feel better now we have created areas (DS1 doesnt pay much attention to this)!! The kids have the bottoim tow shelves of my book shelf at the moment as I am book mad and they even have the horrible histories books which are aimed for 8 year olds i think

Good news here also, BIL who you will remember is a rude pain in the bum is finally looking to move out.... at last so hopefully by summer the boys will move into his room which is much bigger. Have decided to continue letting them share as they are still young and share toys and things as they only have a small age gap, their room will then become a sort of chill out room, computer in there maybe a little sofa, exercise bike, my books (yes they need a room).

Thats it from me for the mo.

LaTrucha · 02/01/2009 12:09

Thanks for your birthday messages. I haven't caught up properly. Soory. Borther may be coming out of hospital today.... and he may not....

So! We had a fab birthday. We paced things out soe we had balloons and teletubbies at breakfast, bath and nap, presents, lunch and play then birthday tea with a friend and cake! She didn;t really like her cake but everyone else did. She is desperate for walking. Well done George!!!!!

Aquadraw was the hands down hit of the day. Her face when she made a mark on the paper was fantastic! It's supposed to be for 19months plus but she adred it.

Will catch up as soon as possible.

Gingemejinglybells · 02/01/2009 13:27

Afternoon ladies. A better night last night thank goodness though ds4 did mess about a bit.
George seems to prefer to be in his wlaker now has no interest in walking now he knows he can do it!
Good news on the bil front mixedmamma. As soon as dh has sorted his annual leave for Feb we'll sort a meet up out
LaTrucha we have an aquadraw and its a big hit with all the boys and me as it realy doesn't make any mess. And I love the idea of the tops doing up the opposite way so they can't undo them.
Second the book case Simpson. In fact we have bought 2 more shelves from Ikea to accomadate the millions of books they have.
Definately will have to think about having a good clear out of toys soon.
Well better go lots to do a susual.
Take care ladies xxx

JustKeepSingingCarols · 02/01/2009 13:47

good news mixedmama!

my boys are sharing now. planning to keep it that way until they ask to move.

we have a toddler friend who an undo those aquadraw pens! it's a right PITA when she's round as she just pours water all over the floor (not much admittedly) then asks for more, argh!

In fact she's due round in a mo - luckily i get on with her mum, lol.
so best go...

simpson · 02/01/2009 16:59

Hi all

Just got back from town shopping and am well chuffed as I managed to get DS a pair of Clarks shoes for £12

Clarks was absolutely manic and i was on the verge of just giving up and leaving but we got his feet measured etc then managed to nab the last pair of shoes in his size reduced from £25 to £12

Also got a big plastic container for DS to keep his train set in, unfortunately it is bright pink (last one left!) but he doesn't seem to mind!!

Gingeme - I want to get another small book case for DS to have in his room...he has loads of books as I tend to buy them from the library when they have a sale and are 10p each

Mixed mama - Count me in for Feb meet up

LaT - Hope you are ok today...

mixedmama · 02/01/2009 17:10

Simpson and Gingeme - shall I organise the meet up then.... Simpson you are in West London I think arent you?? Gingeme I know where you are, will wait for your dates gingeme then - i am free tues and thurs. Woo hoo.

simpson · 02/01/2009 17:58

Mixed mama - yes am in West London

simpson · 02/01/2009 18:02

Tuesday is best for me as my dad can then take DS to pre school if DH is at work....

mixedmama · 02/01/2009 20:43

that gives us 3rd,10th, 17th and 24th feb any of which work for me.

madmouse · 02/01/2009 20:44

Can you let me know where and when the meetup? If I know it long enough in advance I may come down too (long enough for cheap tickets).

Unless this *^%4%43 Midlands meetup is finally going to happen? Lucky????? LaT are you in the mood to even consider a trip down? Anyone else?

Am in shock and awe of my son.
Last night he slept 8.45-8.30 with a ten minutes barely awake mini feed at 4am

today he has eaten:
9am one weetabix with whole milk and fruit puree
11.15 fromage frais and a few sips cowsmilk
1pm one whole large jar of hipps spag bol and some cowsmilk and water
4.45pm portion of yogurt and fruit
6.15pm large helping of pasta/salmon/cream, more yogurt with fruit and because that was finished before he was another pot of fromage frais

last week he ate:
2/3 of a weetabix with fruit
most of a fromage frais
half a large hipp jar
yogurt if with childminder, bm if with me
modest portion of dinner
few bites of yogurt

he only has two bf per 24h now, and he is gaining weight so quickly it is not funny anymore. well, it was about time.

ginge lol at george, bet he will be walking again tomorrow. just spoke to Nathan's godmother who is due with baby 3 in afew weeks. she is a bit worried because no2 was fast. told her about george's arrival and said you would recommend it. she was not altogether impressed

OP posts:
simpson · 02/01/2009 20:47

Where are we going to meet?

nicky6 · 02/01/2009 20:54

Let me know if meeting up will try to make it.
mixed mama glad bil maybe on the move

JustKeepSingingCarols · 02/01/2009 21:07

BIG news here - Henry to bed with no bf

DH gave him some cow's milk, he was complaining so i was about to step in, then dh put him in his cot, he snuggled his blanket, we settled Tom, and peace...so far!

so just morning feeds for a couple of weeks, or maybe just one more week, then that's it, freedom
i know that may sound harsh but after over 3 years of pg & bf i can't wait to be freeeeeeeeee!!!!!

and actually, i had to send out rush order for lansinoh from friends today as one side is incredibly painful - think H must have hurt me last night as he latched on funny. this morning was shouting-out-loud-Ouch-painful

Have put on lansinoh and will put more on before tomorrow mornings feed and hope it's ok.

go nathan go!!!

re meetup - not sure i can join you this time, but will keep an eye on dates i case....esp if 'northern/midlands' contingent are coming down....

off to center parcs next week, any tips???
