Nathan is a credit to you (and your DH) for all the effort you put in for his physio etc...he is very lucky to have you

BTW Molly has been sitting well for a few weeks now but if she fell would just kind of make sure she landed without hurting herself iyswim.

Yesterday was the first day I have seen her use her hands to steady herself so she stays sitting

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 30/12/2008 22:19

Go Molly & Nathan.. It's like my own kids learning something new. AMAZING

Bad few days here with DD so not as talkative as normal but I'll be back as soon as she's well again. She's on antibiotics to try to shift the chesty cough thats keeping her up all night

Gingemejinglybells · 31/12/2008 09:55

Morning ladies.
Another bad night with George not sure what was wrong realy. Tried the usual patting, cuddling, milk, medised even watched a bit of tele. Took about an hour to settle him back to bed at around midnihgt. He then woke this morning at 6.48. He is realy rtying to walk now. Stands un aided for ages until one of us notices and he plonks straight on to his bottom
Well off to Wood Green now to buy ds1 a new mobile for Christmas.
Hope you all have a good day xxx

madmouse · 31/12/2008 10:40

Ginge could it be the walking that is waking George? His brain must be doing overtime figuring it all out.

Nathan slept 8.30-3.30 quick feed then 8.10!!!!!!!!

Actually stayed up watching Magdaline Sisters until 00.15. For months I have been desperate to get into bed by 10 so knackered, now I am not so tired anymore

Lucky how's poor Aaliyah? You got any sleep?

Nathan at cm this morning. Even she noticed that he has put on weight. In a week . Have just been giving him too much breastmilk when he needed bread, butter, pasta, cheese . Learned that for next one...

Off to sort out cupboards

Madmouse - I stayed up watching same film!! We think DH might have been born in one as he was taken off his birth mother and adopted out when he was a year. No paperwork or anything. His family chose him like you would choose a new pet dog. His birth certicifcate is dated three years after he was born.

Put DD down for her morning nap an hour ago and she is still wide awake cooing/singing/screeching quite happily to herself

Gingemejinglybells · 31/12/2008 14:00

Funny madmouse I was thinking the same about George. They seem to go through wakefullness before each stage of development! Ah well it shall pass............

Housemum · 31/12/2008 15:18

OK just nipping on for a sec so not exactly personals (will be better when DH is back at work so he doesn't know how long I can spend on here!!!)

Injections - I was honest with DD2 for pre-school booster. She is a total wuss about any scratches & cuts, so I told her it was like a little pinch, but over very quickly - when she actually went she was fine - she said afterwards it wasn't that bad. Don't know if your surgery gives stickers but the nurse gave her one which she was very happy with!

Housemum · 31/12/2008 15:32

Oops meant to page up not press enter

Good on Molly & Nathan for being on the move (eyes in the back of your head time...)

Amelie was awake until 11 last night - I took her to the gym in the afternoon, it was around her normal sleep time so I said to theladies in the creche that she might need a cuddle - then as she got in there her eyes lit up at the toys and she was off! 2 hours crawling around with the other babies and she was happy whilst DH & I attempted to play squash with a 5 year old! (sore point, they'd run out of room in the 3-8 year old playroom as they didn't have enough staff on) We then took her for a swim which she LOVED! She's a real climber though, when I sat in the little baby pool for a bit, she kept standing against the edge and hoiking her leg up to climb up and over into the big pool! Then got her changed and sat her in a baby seat on the wall, turned round from drying DD2 and she'd fallen asleep strapped in there! Aah! Went to friends' house for curry, and she crawled around until we put her in the car to go home - she was not at all tired. (The other babies were asleep by 8) - still she fell asleep in car on way home and didn't wake until 7.30 which is good - she was sleeping through for a week but molars are giving her problems big time - waking 3.30 most mornings, taking a good 45 mins to settle back.

Anyway, just seen how much I have rambled so to finish:

Xmas - v good, took until today to finish opening her pressies - didn't see the point of rushing it! If they were from people we weren't going to see for a while or from us we left those till last, except the main pressie.

NYE plans - to neighbour's house tonight to see in New Year (the teenager has gone to a friend's house already)

Birthday - her birthday is Saturday, having family and friends for tea & cake on Sunday.

Will take the tree down today or tomorrow, must remember to go to balloon shop when they are open again to get a helium balloon for her.

TTFN!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 31/12/2008 17:14

Housemum - trouble is already beginning Today DS wanted to play with his wooden train set and DD kept crawling over and trying to eat play with it!! Ds got most cross and DD had the most awful temper tantrum when removed away from train set

Hope everyone has a good NYE!!

JustKeepSingingCarols · 31/12/2008 17:20

Hi all

Hope everyone has a good NYE

We are planning, tv, good bottle of red wine, some nice dinner, then an early night!
Living on the wild side here, lol!

Dh under strict instruction to take some cold medicine before bedtime and i'm going to make up a spare bed as he kept me awake so much of last night.

Henry has slept 7-8ish 2 nights running
and still having long naps in the day.
think maybe his cold is wiping him out but he's happy enough when awake.

Tom knackered today too - has chilled out most of the day and made pretend beds everywhere!

Went into town and got some sales clothes for Tom mostly. some funky pjs for H - could be birthday presents. have no great ideas for him. must remember to hold back some christmas ideas next year.
had a look in ELC but nothing particularly took my fancy.
i could get more Happyland stuff - that they would share. but only if i get that mat that folds up into a box to tidy it all away in!!

anyone's LO nearly walking???
DS1 started properly on his 1st birthday, so no pressure H.....!

started taking down some decorations today, get fed up with them! will take the rest down tomorrow i think.
Though ds1 less than impressed by the idea....

LaTrucha · 31/12/2008 17:26

NEws just in ...

First birthday cake is MADE! LaTrucha sits back in s flush of triumph!

It's just a sponge, but it's been a while

MMR went ok so far.

Housemum · 31/12/2008 19:08

Hi Simpson - train sets are great - we have a table with the Thomas set on (best bargain in the world ever!) but as soon as the trains are on there Amelie systematically pulls each one off and throws it on the floor, then pulls the track off...

Not close to walking yet - she has been pulling herself to standing for ages now, and can stand alone for a good few seconds. She will push along her walker but as soon as she gets where she wants she crawls. I think she's worked out that crawling is faster and she's less likely to fall over! My other two walked at 16 mths and 14 mths.

LaTrucha - shame there isn't a "smug mum" emoticon! I'll be busy baking on Friday! (I feel like I've spent the last 3 weeks baking all the time - Christmas cake, mince pies, rocky road bars, chilli jam... I only do this sort of stuff once a year, I hasten to add!)

Gingemejinglybells · 31/12/2008 20:28

George took 6 steps tomight
Happy New Year all!!!! xxx

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 31/12/2008 21:01

JustKeepSingingCarols · 31/12/2008 21:05

Knew it had to be soon.

Well done George .

Henry was racing about with his brick trolley earlier so chasing you soon George!!

Gingemejinglybells · 31/12/2008 23:15

Meet up in Feb ladies?

Housemum · 01/01/2009 09:58

Birthday tip - prob more use next year or for those with older LOs - on the CBeebies website you can create a birthday greeting from Chris - its got loads of names, and is basically pre-recorded clips put together but it looks cool for a kid! They e-mail you a link and you can play it for a month. I had a quick look - they do have names like Aaliyah and Ayesha so it's not just the really popular ones, and the ages go up to 7.

If anyone is watching CBeebies on Saturday watch out in case they show Amelie's card - I sent in an Upsy Daisy one but was right on the deadline so may have got in too late (or they may have too many anyway)

Congratulations George - off and away!

Housemum · 01/01/2009 10:03

Here's what the greetings look like: [http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/birthdays/fun/greeting.shtml?Id=24046700-157799.

Housemum · 01/01/2009 10:06

I think my brain is stuck in last year... www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/birthdays/fun/greeting.shtml?Id=24046700-157799 should work now!!

Gingemejinglybells · 01/01/2009 11:26

Had a shit night with George Realy don't know whats up with him. He woke at 5.30 am crying and crying. Gave him a bottle and bum change. Medicine. No help. Got up and sat in the front room with him trying to amuse him for about an hour. Gave him a ruskit and he fell asleep on my lap went back to bed where woke at about 9.45 all ful of the joys of the new year. Feel shattered before Ive even started
Well I hope everyone else had a better night.Sorry for the moan. Oh and he is showing no interest in walking today so made me out to be a complete liar too....

Housemum · 01/01/2009 12:23

Gingeme - sorry you had a bad night. Teeth maybe? Amelie only started sleeping through a couple of weeks ago, now the molars are starting to push through she wakes up at 3.30 howling most nights and takes ages to settle.

Hopefully he'll have a long nap later and you can stick the others in front of a DVD and snooze!

Amelie was like that with standing - stood on her own for ages but every time I tried to show DH she'd collapse in a heap - I'm sure he thought I was making it up!

madmouse · 01/01/2009 12:24

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy birthday Sabela!!!!

Hey Housemum, good to see you

Poor Ginge, what a start . Personally I can cope with any number of wakings, it is when Nathan will not go back to sleep that it gets me. But he did another great night only waking at 3 then sleeping til 8. One more night feeding at 3 then I am pushing it to 4, then 5. And in three weeks time I will stop completely. And I can actually see it happen.

Nathan is eating so much solids since reducing bf. He had a whole hipp jar for lunch yesterday, a large one. May not be much for some of yours, but for my midget it is lots and lots.

Tip for others with small/skinny ones I made Nathan pasta with tinned salmon, carrots, tomato and lots of double cream (sorry simpson ), he loved it and it is supercalorific. He actually has a tummy now

madmouse · 01/01/2009 12:27

Ginge, Housemum, it is a good thing that his physio believes me, as he will never show her how well he can sit or push up

ginge, Nathan usually has a rest after doing something amazing, it comes back a few days later and then it stays. Like his brain needs to embed it in the existing software

Happy New Year guys!!

Gingeme - Definately up for a meet up!!

Sorry you had a pants night Ours was not great either as DD started crying loudly at 5.30am and nothing would console her. Brought her in with me and DH went downstairs but she thought that was great fun...so no more sleep. And silly me didn't go to bed till 1am. Grrr.

DD still crawling but can't go very far yet...about a metre then sinks to the floor in exhaustion

Madmouse - recipe sounds lovely!! I am sure I can substitute cream with something else!! I make a nice tomato & basil sauce which DD has on everything as its the only thing I can think of to do DD wouldn't eat a whole large hipp organic jar (she would have about two thirds)so well done Nathan

Happy Birthday to Sabela

Housemum - Hope Amelie has finished teething for a bit...

Is my DD then only one with no teeth??
