Lilyloo - Hope you find out about car soon.

Have got all of DD's pressies wrapped this evening as DH here to help do it all

Found a couple of books in her bedroom (from book start) that she has not looked at so wrapped them too

Got toddler group tomorrow afternoon. First one this year as woman running it has been ill.

LuckySalem · 26/01/2009 21:10

Hi all,
I'm so sorry if I miss anything but have a headache today so information is not going in as I'd like.

Walkers - We did have one A hated it and still does. She prefers the walkers that you hold on to and push (IYKWIM)

Anyways, Hope all is ok. A still has cold ad its on her chest again now

LaTrucha · 26/01/2009 21:10

Hi all -

Well, the ever sensible Madmouse swayed me and I did buy the insurance. £183! I haven't told DH as he thinks all insurance is stupid. We had a massive row about life insurance. We decided it was a cultural difference.

Trying not to be a stress hen getting ready. Sorry no personals! Sabela is oging nuts at the moment - a combination of teeth, seeing lots of boxes etc I think.

No Mixedmama - no pics yet!

Ange - get better soon!

Welcome back Fragolina!

Brain fried now. DH hovering wants his wife!

January 2008 Shiny New Year Toddlers , first steps to mischief !!!

will keep thinking

LuckySalem · 26/01/2009 21:16

I like the first steps to mischief.

Only problem with having "everyone is one" in it is that not everyone is yet.

I do like the first steps one though

simpson · 26/01/2009 21:18

Oooh I like now we are 1 we have some fun!!

Where is Filly, she likes to do the voting for new thread titles!!

JustKeepSwimming · 26/01/2009 21:21

i like the mischief one too

thanks re walkers - H loves being in it for about maybe 10mins, then has enough, so will keep it out for now.
T wants to have his turn in it too, lol.

um, as usual things have gone in then straight out again!

frag - great to see you can you make meetup???

feeling a bit low atm, no particular thing, monday + no dh for a few days + af (i think, it's coming & going so dunno where i am with it), etc....

gingeme - lovely photos! maybe we should do a transport museum meetup? we could have gone to the dinosaurs on sunday and bumped into you! (reminds me of the dream i had a way back that i saw your boys playing by the sea and knew they were yours, and loads of you were down for a meetup so i joined you!)

have had lovely bath, having some wine and ready for bed in a mo.

sorry, missing personals...

pamelat · 26/01/2009 21:32

Is everyones DC attempting to walk? Mine isn't I think she may be lazy. She is happy to stand and today attempted a "cruise" (is that the word?)

She loves standing, its her new thing this month only but I just cant see it ever becoming a walk.

Am I meant to encourage her?

I go back to work next Monday (after 14 months off ). She was due to start nursery but DH has been made redundant so he is probably going to have her for a couple of months. I am trying to be supportive whilst i am a bit ! Nasty me.

LuckySalem · 26/01/2009 21:50

pam - I didn't start to encourage DD till she could do 2 things. Cruise (walk holding the furniture) and walk when holding onto my hand (one hand)

I've been encouraging her by standing just one or two steps away from her and asking her to come to me. Its works alot and she is doing quite a few of these 2 steps (we had 5 yesterday ) but I dont count it as walkin till she does it herself.

If your DD doesn't want to walk, dont force her, she'll get there eventually. (P.S DD loves to stand as well and does it as much as she can but its almost as though its a game cos most of the time I ask her to come to me she gives me a smile then sinks to the floor)

Gingeme · 26/01/2009 22:25

Sounds like a lovely dream jks. Not sure about cafe space in Transport museum for lo's tbh but a meet up soon sounds great. I know there one at the end of Feb. I can suggest a soft play area quite near where I live though. If I get proper directions and transport I'll post it and see what you London ladies think.
Pamelat you are doing it exactly right.DH and I sit opposite eachother withGeorge between and he does a few steps in betwenn us Don't rush it it will come with time
RE title name nearly one and the fun has only just begun.

madmouse · 26/01/2009 22:58

Hi all

Oh dear LaT so it is on my conscience now? . My dh makes the decision on what is insured or not generally. His mantra is 'only insure what you can't afford', so car insurance (but with high excess), home insurance and travel insurance and that is it.

Why do people think i am sensible? You lot will get such a shock at the meetup

Ange, hope you feel better soon. Here is the harsh-mummy-who-did-controlled-crying speaking, but isn't it time you stop giving his dummy back when he flings it out of the cot . It may help to teach him self settle. It is only a week or six ago that Nathan needed boobie to sleep and could not be in his cot awake. Now I put him in sleepy, he lies very still when I pray, then smiles eyes half shut, rolls on his side (new, that bit!) and goes to sleep. For the whole night. Sometimes you need to break a habit.

Hey fragolina [frantic wave ]. Does this mean you are coming to the meetup? It is 28 February in a soft play area in Coventry!. There will be Lucky, Simpson, Lilyloo, JKS, Mixedmama and hopefully more. Very exciting

No walker here, have deemed it not good for Nathan with his cerebral palsy, as it does slightly change the position of the hips as opposed to normal walking and posture is very important in his case.

Feeling normal again today, for the first time since Wednesday. Have worked all day, then bathed Nathan and put him to bed, ironed, folded laundry, returned guest room finally to its normal state, cooked a meal for us and one for friends who are both ill and have teenage kids (we do kindof a rota with a lot of friends) and loaded the dishwasher. Luckily dh had a lovely meal ready when I came home. Still have some bits and pieces to do before bed.

Hello everyone else

Nighty night.

madmouse · 26/01/2009 23:01

oh and re thread titles, I like the mischief one as Nathan is very mischievous, but the other one is good too.

With regard to them not all being one, Nathan will be one on Sunday and he is the last one I think, so that is fine

Gingeme · 27/01/2009 08:36

Morning ladies,
Hope your nights were reasonable.
Its just a snot fest here again so sick of it. Roll on the spring.
Having another spring clean day today I think. Going to sort my linen cupboard.
DH being an arse today glad hes going to work a bit earlier.
Have a good day all. I'll try to geta link for that soft play I mentioned yesterday.
Right off for a shower x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 27/01/2009 08:44

morning all,

still havent bought my ticket will do it soon i promise.

we dont have a walker only the pushing along one... we dont really have the space so jut never bothered.

DS2 is not relaly walking, cruising lots and stand s for about 3 seconds and can walk a very small amount holding one hand.

Ange - i feel for you, DS2 is a little like that and taking the dummy away all together is not an option for us as he screams to the point that he is bright red and will actually do this until he makes himself sick and sometimes even picking him up doesnt work. He was so good at just going down and sleeping allnight but after he had the flu in November he has never sdlept through again and tbh most nights ends up in our bed, it is very trying and i guess you just have to work through and find out what works... taxing to say the least.

Have been on the cbeebies website to find some big cook little cook recipes today to make with DS1 to keep him occupied as he is so bored.

Have my french lesson tonight so i can at least get out for an hour.

simpson · 27/01/2009 10:53

Hi all

Was supposed to be my lie in this morning but DS woke me by coming into the bedroom "mummy I need a poo" Grrr.

DD had the most shocking poo this morning, all up her back and oozing out of vest.

Whenever she eats a home cooked tea there is a big poo fest in the next morning. If she eats a jar/plum pot for tea her poo is normal Don't know what that is about??

Sorry my first post of the day is all about poo

JKS - hope you are not feeling so blue today.

Got toddler group this afternoon after dropping DS at pre school so busy, busy, busy!!

Am going to attempt to get a nap into DD in a minute so we don't have melt down later.

She is currently sitting in front room eating toast saying "uh oh!" which must mean she has dropped it

Lilyloo · 27/01/2009 11:00
