Here we are, finally made it to another thread.

Congratulations Sponge, that's exciting! How do you feel? Rotten?

Auntgriselda, Hasan is feeding loads! Usually wakes at 5.30 for leisurely breakfast, then mid morning snack, afters for lunch, mid afternoon snack, afters for tea, supper, evening snack, midnight snack. Ooh he's a so and so.

When I tried to cut him down he became more demanding at night He really howls if I turn him down So I haven't the heart turn him down (for now - am a softy walkover!)
The thing is I'm available and on tap all day and all night.
I'm resigned to going cold turkey because I think if I try to do it gradually it will prolong the agony. At the moment he eats well but not alot.
Once I stop he'll eat loads like his brother I think.

But keeping going until he is two if I can.

Still co sleeping with Hasan and ds2. They cuddle up together -very cute. I'm planning to eventually relocate to my own bed in the next few months too.

Cor really can't imagine having another little one now

No idea what to get him for Christmas......

oo a new thread. I nearly started one last night but couldn't think of a title

Congratulations Sponge

I can't imagine having another little one. DD2 is such hard work (or is it just because I'm so old ?!) She had been sleeping from 11-6 but the last 4 nights she's been sitting bolt upright every 2 hours or so and climbing over me for "num-nums". It is very wearing.

mygreatauntgriselda · 01/12/2008 18:54

Hi you two [waves]

I can't imagine having a newborn now either

Does anyone watch Outnumbered? We love it - the chaos is just like our house

Super - Hasan still being a greedy then? Think of all the calories he's using up!!

No idea what to get the Fat Toddler for Christmas either - he does love cars so maybe one of those chunky plastic paly garages, so he can wheel the cars up and down the ramp, 'til his chubby little heart is content

Perhaps we should do a list with some ideas...for toddler Chrissie pressies

Ideas anyone?

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 01/12/2008 19:03

Feel a bit of you though Sponge with a newborn to look forward to

TheBlonde · 01/12/2008 19:32

Congratulations Sponge

catweazle · 01/12/2008 22:37

aunt we've gone a bit mad for DD this year. She's having

ELC kitchen (small one)
FP animal treehouse thing
wooden trike
Baby Annabel doll with buggy
ITNG Ninky Nonk
ITNG bandstand shape sorter
soft Iggle Piggle (noticing a theme here )

(I'm sure there was something else.. not as dear as it sounds- all were on offer/ free with Boots points/ buy 2 get 1 free/ from TK Maxx)

Grandma is buying a small slide

TheBlonde · 02/12/2008 11:36

No gift ideas here
DD is getting a book and that's it so far
I might hit ELC tomorrow

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 02/12/2008 12:46

Cat - its nice to spoil them isn't it

I think the Fat Toddler might like an ELC kitchen too (he is rather obsessed with food, hence his name)

kiwibella · 02/12/2008 14:55

phew, found you all... I nearly had a heart attack when it said the thread was too full!!!

Congratulations to Sponge - that's great news for your family

I have to agree with silly and CW - I can't imagine another one now.... although we tried for ages. I am worn out!!! No, it's not cos you're older CW . We all seem to have such busy bees.

Kate has a ITNG theme for chrissy pressies too. Although, I think I have found the perfect excuse to buy her an upsy-daisy dress-up outfit for a "story book" birthday party this weekend, hehehehe.

Aunt... remembering back to your birthday, you posted a link to an online store where your friend had bought a present for you and your dd. Ring any bells? It was gorgeous, funky stuff. Hmmm... did you get a laundry / smalls bag??? I can't traipse through the thread hoping to find it .

I need to find a (substantial) gift for a one year old from several families. The family are a lovely quirky bunch. This lo has an older sister so probably lots of hand-me downs too. I was thinking of a wheely-bug cos they are funky.... but looking for other ideas too.

I've just had the weekend in Venice with my sister and her friends. It was strange because I missed my family sooo much. At times, I was close to tears when I talked about them . It might have been the wine???? We were affected by the floods yesterday so spent the day holed up in bed in our (devine!!) b&b. It was pure bliss. After long delays with Ryan Air, I arrived home after 3am and didn't mind at all when Kate woke!!!! It was lovely to cuddle and feed / relieve.

SuperSillyus · 02/12/2008 15:30

Kiwi wheely bug sounds good, I have no other inspiration. Well done for managing to go away for the weekend and have fun.

I'm planning a girly night out in a week and a half and I hope I'll manage to not fret about the children long enough to enjoy my freedom!

It is freezing here now, very wintery and I just want to hibernate. Yesterday I zoned out in front of Dr Who while the children ran wild. Hasan threw a book into dd's bath which disintegrated and is still clinging to her hair like extreme dandruff Ds2 found some scissors and cut his hair which is very smart of course Hasan made loads of mess, sigh, I'm too old for this malarky, I can't keep up with them!

I've put the tree up and Hasan just keeps removing various decorations and I just keep putting them back......

OP posts:
kiwibella · 02/12/2008 15:32

I'm so sorry Silly... I am pmsl at the image of your dd's hair.

I am also afraid of putting up the christmas tree with little fingers to pick off all the decorations.

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 02/12/2008 21:24

LOL Super!!! I wish we all lived close enough to join you out on the razzle!

Kiwi - Aha - now I understand!!

It was Bombay Duck

kittywise · 02/12/2008 22:54

hello, lovely ladies, not much to say!

Have been reading though.

congrats sponge am very

Life is so mental here.

Have done all xmas shopping and wrapped pressies

dd3 finally potty trained (lazy mare)

Ron is surgically attatched to his toy cars

love to all xxxx

SuperSillyus · 03/12/2008 07:51

Kitty you are mad but I still think you should drop all your principles and have another little person to add to your happy brood! But just a thought, how about fostering newborns? It pays for itself and would be very rewarding but maybe too heart wrenching though.
I'm impressed you have all the christmas shopping done!
And also impressed at the good progress on the toilet training, it's funny how before they manage it you just think they are never going to get it but then they suddenly do.

Ooh it would be great to have a girlies night with you lot, I shall for ever be jealous of your get togethers!

That bombayduck site is totally scrumptious!

Sponge how are you doing?

OP posts:
kittywise · 03/12/2008 10:41

super, we only got together the once, unless I have been missed off the invite list in the meantime[sad[.

I'm afraid it's dp who is saying we can't have another until we've more money.

Anyway I haven't had nookie since Ron was conceived

Bloody headlice this is the third time I've had to treat my head in as many weeks

shanks313 · 03/12/2008 11:03

Hi everyone

Can you believe that Deanna is now 21 months and Miley is 7 months.
Deanna is talking alot more although not yet putting sentences together. She tries to run everywhere and cant keep your eyes off her for a second.

Hope you are all well...congrats Sponge thats great news

Love from the Shanks familyx

SuperSillyus · 03/12/2008 13:17

Shanks those pictures are so good! Did you get them done professionally? The girls look adorable. Time really does fly by doesn't it!

Kitty that is a long time for a sexy attractive woman to be celibate. I suppose the longer it goes on like that the more difficult it is to change because it becomes the norm. I have no idea what you can do though.

Much sympathy on the lice front. We have all escaped so far very luckily because my sisters and their children have all had plenty I suppose it's only a matter of time.....

Hasan is totally obsessed with apples. He's always got an apple in his hand and there are half eaten apples lurking all over the house.

TheBlonde · 03/12/2008 13:20

spongecake · 03/12/2008 14:05

found the new thread! thanks for your congrats, and yes rosy, i do feel awful

what do you mean can't imagine having newborn? must join new thread for june babies, they are all posting like mad so seems very familiar
sick all the time, however am totally dff shape to last time so none of my maternity clothes fit. my dh has just called and we are moving counties in a month- new job, house etc, so am in denial on mumsnet. have to rent house out over christmas, rearrgne everything, not helped by fact am totally forgetful this time.

SuperSillyus · 04/12/2008 09:29

Oh yes we like jaffacakes in this house too! And nutfree chocolate spread. (slurp)
All this celibacy seems to be catching! I'm not far off it myself, what about making an interesting christmas list for 'santa'

Sponge I'm glad you are feeling awfull tis a good sign! But oh boy I don't envy you going through pregnancy (shudder) You must definately join the June crew -these threads threads are brilliant support in pregnancy I think. You need to focus on the details with others in the same frame of mind.
When I am pregnant I love to watch labours and once I have the baby it suddenly seems strange to have a hobby of watching women pushing out babies

OP posts:
SuperSillyus · 04/12/2008 09:32

Oh yes Sponge take it easy! that house moving sounds mad over christmas and I hope it goes smoothly and is not too stressfull for you.
