Here we are, finally made it to another thread.

Congratulations Sponge, that's exciting! How do you feel? Rotten?

Auntgriselda, Hasan is feeding loads! Usually wakes at 5.30 for leisurely breakfast, then mid morning snack, afters for lunch, mid afternoon snack, afters for tea, supper, evening snack, midnight snack. Ooh he's a so and so.

When I tried to cut him down he became more demanding at night He really howls if I turn him down So I haven't the heart turn him down (for now - am a softy walkover!)
The thing is I'm available and on tap all day and all night.
I'm resigned to going cold turkey because I think if I try to do it gradually it will prolong the agony. At the moment he eats well but not alot.
Once I stop he'll eat loads like his brother I think.

But keeping going until he is two if I can.

Still co sleeping with Hasan and ds2. They cuddle up together -very cute. I'm planning to eventually relocate to my own bed in the next few months too.

Cor really can't imagine having another little one now

No idea what to get him for Christmas......

Callie my good friend with cp uses a wheelchair and is happily married, has loads of friends, a lovely home, two dogs, is trying for a baby, lives a full life. She has had abuse and discrimination but anyone can get bullied at times.
I bet Jordi will manage perfectly well. Mothers will always worry about their children no matter what though.

Kiwi, very exciting about your house.

hmm, no idea whatsoever what to get for Hasan for his birthday.....

Thanks guys.

Super - get him a box . Isn't that always the standard advice? Have to say Jordi has always shown more interest in the contents of the box...

Went to docs again today to see if flu had become chest infection and therefore curable by ABs (was praying I had). No. I've strained my rib muscles and they've got really sore again this afternoon so hurts like when I cough, or in fact breathe in. Have been given inhaler, had to have blood tests, am trying to cough up gunk to get that tested but no good at it. Doc said if I came back third time they would give me ABs no matter what. Off work for third week in row. I just can't get enough rest, can't sleep enough at night cos of cough/blocked nose/dry mouth/sweats combo - nice! God I'm boring myself with my flu-related whinging! Jordi's in creche today thank god so I did finally manage to get a bit of sleep this pm, but that was punctuated by dry mouth waking syndrome. Joy oh joy. There should be a [sigh] emoticon.

Kiwi, well done with the house. My sister is in a similar shared ownership scheme with a housing association in west London. Do you have a garden now? Bet it's a big change from a flat for you all. It was Greenwich you lived in or near, wasn't it? Were you sad to say goodbye despite everything? I lived on the edge of Lewisham/Blackheath/Greenwich in my first year at uni and I loved it. Ooh, long time ago now. Haven't been to London properly for over two years now. I went for a flying work-related thing last summer but that doesn't count cos it was straight there, to a building and then back home the same day.

catweazle · 12/01/2009 21:14

callie sorry to hear you've been so ill. I had that cold/ cough thing before Xmas and couldn't believe how it knocked me for 6. Also didn't realise Jordi had CP

kiwi, how was your first day alone? Not too bad I hope.

We've had our electric and gas bill today- £355 . The last one was £197 so it has doubled. It's given DH a bit of a shock and shown him why I've been constantly nagging asking them to stop leaving the mobile phone chargers plugged in, and the TV on standby. Perhaps I'll get some co-operation now.

kiwibella · 12/01/2009 22:37

CW... omg, I'm feeling faint at your power bill!! It does show how much you are paying for that you're (probably) not actually using. That's shocking.

kiwibella · 12/01/2009 22:41

yes, we've got a garden and four bedrooms! Kate is now in her own room which is lovely.

I am sure I will miss London and our friends there but we can get back easily enough (train takes 45 mins). I still find the London sights captivating . Callie... you live in a fab area too tho!

Callieco · 12/01/2009 23:00

Am just watching a prog on BBC Wales about the local hospital and there is a first-time mum in labour in a birthing pool sucking on the gas and air like her life depends on it. Now then, who was it wanted another baby??? Oh yes, me! I just found out tonight my cousin's wife is expecting their third, which is lovely after the recent bereavements we've had in the family.

Thanks for the sympathy Catweazle. I bet you needed a stiff drink when you saw that bill! Just what you want in January.

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/01/2009 12:55

Cat our winter bill last year was £450 so have tried to be a lot more mean careful with the heating this year...am constantly turning switches off and telling people to don knitwear

Callie sorry to hear you are poorly. I'm thinking that those people on the Scope website are probably adults now and hopefully attitudes have changed a bit. My Bro is Downs and I know that attutudes towards Downs have moved on leaps and bounds in one generation - partly due to political correctness and partly due to higher visibility on TV etc of Downs people. Jordi will have a fabulous life, 'cos he has a loving supportive family and as you say, has an lovely engaging presonality - so he will have lots of friends.

Not sure my DS1 will have much luck with girls - he is soo damned sulky - already slamming doors etc

kittywise · 13/01/2009 13:59

God, our fuel bill is at least £1000

kiwibella · 13/01/2009 16:59

I'm now scared... I keep telling hubs that it can't cost that much to run our central heating all night cos everyone in Britain has it (we didn't in our flat). Our bill was around £150 a quarter until we capped with Scottish power - £38 / month.

SuperSillyus · 13/01/2009 16:59

Kitty that's huge! If you moved to a smaller house you could afford numero 7 but you wouldn't have room for him

I haven't a clue what ours is but not too bad I think

OP posts:
kiwibella · 13/01/2009 17:00

at Monti banging and crashing around!!

I'm wondering if Kate will ever make friends with her new words for everything being "mine" and "yuck". Who knows where she gets that from .

catweazle · 13/01/2009 18:17

Ah but kitty your house is about 3 or 4 times bigger than ours

(kiwi, I don't think Monti is DS1 is he?)

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/01/2009 18:21
Grin
Callieco · 13/01/2009 23:15

Kiwi, Jordi's favourite thing to say at the moment (with emphasis) is "I can't." He has been beside himself with excitement these past two evenings because he's finally gone back to creche and had some social life after being stuck with me and DP for the past two weeks . He's moved on to the next "room" - he had stayed on in the baby room a bit longer because of his movement probs but we all decided it was time for him to progress, and he loves it apparently - DP has had to take him in and out by public transport cos the car's out of action and so am I!

Does anyone ever hear anything of Muppet or Sazzy? I used to be Facebook friends with Muppet but I noticed a while ago I'm not anymore.

SuperSillyus · 14/01/2009 09:37

Oh yes Callie you are right Muppet's not in my friends anymore either I hadn't noticed I really like Muppet, I wonder why she left us? I hope she's okay.

Sazzy is still about, but not on this thread for a while.....

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 13:59

I m friend wth Sazzy on FB - have a look o my friends list.

Callie - I like the way Jordi says that - ou'll have to teach him a "Can Do" approach LOL!

The Fat Toddler says "No" a lot with a meaningful look in his eye

kittywise · 14/01/2009 14:31

Lol at the baby refusals! I had a "no, get off me mama" this morning whilst I was trying to do his coat up.

You lot who still regularly use FB are amazing. I rarely get to come on here. Also I still can't wok out how to use FB properly

mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 19:31

OK I have a FB "I need advice" thingy.

A man has contacted me who says he knew me at college but I really don't remember him at all - what do I do? Shall I make fiends with him?

Befoe you all start sniggering at the back, h is middle aged, over wieght Lebanese Guy (not tasty) . I guess he must genuinely know me although he looks completely unfamilar to me!!

What do I do?

kittywise · 14/01/2009 19:44

hmm. tricky, if you do not remember him and he is not worth shagging I would ignore

mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 20:27

Kitty, well that's kinda what I was thinking actually... plus - either he was so unrmarkable I don't recall him, or he's a loony who stalks middle aged women

kiwibella · 14/01/2009 21:18

I would also ignore it... you don't have to decline or reject (or whatever the terminology might be!) him. I have a couple of children from my last school who sent invites that I haven't accepted cos I don't want them knowing everything about me . They just sit there.

Do you have other school friends as your friends? It might turn out that he appears as a friend on some of their pages? Can you google him?

Ok... I'm not really much help .

kiwibella · 14/01/2009 21:21

I want to know whether the other person gets an alert if you delete them. I have a friend who has been a right cow for sometime now - I am now cautious about what information I put on my page cos I don't want her knowing but I also don't want to stir things up by making a big announcement about deleting her .

mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 22:10

Kiwi - no sure interesting point - I had a guy who I turned dwn for a job who is a bit unbalanced and a fw days later he asked to be my friend on FB, so I pressed "ignore". Not sure whether he woul have got a message saying "auntieG has chosen to ignore you"???

mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 22:11

If yo remove a friend think they might get a message telling them?

mygreatauntgriselda · 14/01/2009 22:14

Kiwi no don't have any potenial mutual friends. He said he knew which year was in a callege - but am suspcious he may have been on friends reunited and be stalking me LOL!!

Alhough he des live in Lebanon - strangley I a seem destined to have Lebanese friends as always seem to have a few
