Here we are, finally made it to another thread.

Congratulations Sponge, that's exciting! How do you feel? Rotten?

Auntgriselda, Hasan is feeding loads! Usually wakes at 5.30 for leisurely breakfast, then mid morning snack, afters for lunch, mid afternoon snack, afters for tea, supper, evening snack, midnight snack. Ooh he's a so and so.

When I tried to cut him down he became more demanding at night He really howls if I turn him down So I haven't the heart turn him down (for now - am a softy walkover!)
The thing is I'm available and on tap all day and all night.
I'm resigned to going cold turkey because I think if I try to do it gradually it will prolong the agony. At the moment he eats well but not alot.
Once I stop he'll eat loads like his brother I think.

But keeping going until he is two if I can.

Still co sleeping with Hasan and ds2. They cuddle up together -very cute. I'm planning to eventually relocate to my own bed in the next few months too.

Cor really can't imagine having another little one now

No idea what to get him for Christmas......

Elvislives - how old was he? I'm just wondering how long this is likely to go on for.

Callieco · 10/08/2009 18:46

Do you know what this thread reminds me of now bizarrely? It's like coming into a school in the holidays when no-one is there, or only the caretaker, and a few kids surreptitiously kicking a ball around the playground. The bustle of term time is all gone. Now why would that occur to me 20 years after I left school?

mygreatauntgriselda · 11/08/2009 14:15

lol

kittywise · 11/08/2009 22:16

callie

No signs of potty training here, if he pees when his nappy is off he looks astonished frankly!!

I reckon he still feeds about 4x per day

Oh the joys of summer holidays,my kids are killing each other

kittywise · 11/08/2009 22:18

oh but he is SUCH a boy. It's all sticks, cars, tractors, trains, planes, dinosaurs.
Where does it come from because no one in this house is interested in any of those things. His sisters are into girly stuff and his big brothers have moved onto ipod touches and wii games!

mygreatauntgriselda · 12/08/2009 21:04

KItty is DS3 still BF?

My DS2 is obsesed with cars too - he has quite a collection

kittywise · 12/08/2009 23:58

auntie, yes he is, 2-3 x a day I reckon. He wants to feed whenever I'm sitting down, it's always been the same. I don't sit down much.
He rules the dvd player with such delights as cars, roary the racing car, tractor tom and bob the builder!

kittywise · 12/08/2009 23:59

Has your ds2 finished with bf now?

How's it on the home front? Any better?

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/08/2009 17:26

Hi Kitty

HOme front much the same really - up and down and never that great but not so awful as to call it a day ...

Am off to Ireland for 2 weeks at the weekend and am meeting up with Super Sillyus, so very excited about that

DS2 loves that film Cars too - bless their little boyish socks!

How's things with you and DH and the kids?

kittywise · 13/08/2009 17:56

Well things ain't great here. More of the usual crap. We are really struggling on the money front so that doesn't help.

I'd so love anther but the way our finances are it doesn't look likely.

How fab that you're meeting up with SS, I'm very.
Are you going to see family over there?

mygreatauntgriselda · 13/08/2009 22:19

Another Babby or another DP lol?

Visiting friends and village where we had honeymoon 18 yrs ago - not romantic visit but part of DH's spiritual quest (yawn)

But I love Ireland and am slightly afraid I may not want to come back here ...

kittywise · 14/08/2009 08:27

What does his spiritual quest involve then??

Oh I'd love another baby, but then I think I'd always want "just one more"!!

Piffle · 21/08/2009 23:55

wow hiya
Hope all is ok
Finn is great, another tractor/trucks/planes boy.
YAAWN

elvislives · 23/08/2009 14:01

Oh dear see we've moved on a little bit.

DD is starting to demand to use the toilet, all of a sudden. She has successfully been about 3 times now in the last 3 days. I wasn't planning to actively potty train her for a bit because we are just about to move, and she's having to change nursery as well, so I thought it would be too much. But hey, her idea, and we put the nappy back on, so no pressure.

kiwibella · 23/08/2009 21:27

how are your plans for moving elvis? I hope it is not overwhelming and you are all excited about the change x x

kiwibella · 23/08/2009 21:28

aunt... please come back and explain your dh's quest. It sounds intriguing. And, I'm bursting to hear more about your meet-up with the beautiful Rosie

mygreatauntgriselda · 04/09/2009 10:20

Halloo...had fabby time in Irekand and met with SS, she is GORGEOUS!!! So are her DCs

Kiwi/Kitty/Piff et al - it will be 20 years in Feb since DH got Ireland to return a pickled aboriginal head to its grandchildren for burial. We met with filmaker there who wants to do a programme about it ...20 years on etc, with all the villagers in the village where DH lived 20 yrs ago (and where we went for hols)

TBH Kitty being in Ireland has helped our relationship a bit - DH is so mcuh more at home in rural settings. He grew up in the bush, fishing, swimming in sea every day etc and he is a bit out of place in the hard cold city. He kind of comes into his own when he is closer to nature and can take the kids fishing etc and he really undersdtands how nature works, animals, the land, etc etc

I want to live in Ireland and have applied for a job (ssshhhhhhhhhh, haven't told DH but he wants to move there too). Prob won't get job but will keep looking

blueberrysorbet · 09/09/2009 21:07

just back online after a 5 week tour of UK and France losing friends and estranging myself from relations. dh stayed at home to work so just me.. love cabin crew i used to arrive to stay with people with a bottle of wne and a tiny overnight bag. now its a new baby, a toddler, suitcases, etc etc etc.

lots going on thread almost busy! would LOVE to live in ireland myself, nearly did once but didn;t get the job never mind as might not have met dh!

has just cancelled ds starting pre nursery- he isn;t really out of nappies and i want him to be when he starts. also will miss him too much and i like doing things with him and the new baby. hope will not regret this

callie that's fantastic about the walking!

SuperSillyus · 14/09/2009 13:31

GreatAunt YOU are gorgeous mrs!!! What a lovely day we had :0) The kids were soooo cute together and I like your dh..he looks different and hip. Couldn't understand a word he said with his accent and my deafness but sure You are such an interesting and beautifull wee family.
Cor if you move to Ireland would be big big change..but a new adventure. Got everything crossed for a lovely job for you.

Hasan keeps taking off his nappy and then brings me one to put on when he needs a poo, that's as far as we've got. I haven't been doing anything to encourage him..too lazy He is finally starting to say alot more now which is lovely.
He's obsessed with the bath and always asking to go in it.

He's not too bothered with cars, loves wrestling with his bro and is ball mad...loves, loves playing football and I don't know where that came from..we never watch it or anything.

Am glad to get the kids back into school routine.

Blueberry I think it's nice to keep them home for a bit if you are happy..he'll not want to be left out from you and the baby at the moment either. My chat thing is a bit dodgy, I have to close it and open it to make my reply send and tricky to have a conversation with various children making demands, then you disappeared.
You were asking about things with dh. It has been stressfull at times. Now it seems to have settled down a bit. We are just getting on with things. He pops in to see the kids and doesn't hang about, it's not very different from before in many ways, for me anyway.

I've been going to counselling which helped me LOADS.

so that's all my business plastered up on the web now

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 16/09/2009 10:54

Yeah but only WE know your read ID Super

Glad its settling with your DH and that the counselling is helping you move forward xxx

Still want to live in Ireland..part of the reason I didn't visit there for 15 years was 'cos I never want to come back here. Its funny but having kids has made me want to live there more now - all the quality of life issues have come into focus. Shame there are NO JOBS lol

PMSL at the idea of Dh being hip!! He is deaf too Super, he liked you anyway. Gave a favourable grunt when I mentioned you the other day

Hope everyone is well. No sign of potty readiness here...

blueberrysorbet · 21/09/2009 20:20

supersilly, my fb lurches all the time, as does the telly picture-its the dusty wind they say, sounds a bit like the wrong kind of snow to me, but there you go..

ds is nappy free during the day, which means i have to think up another excuse for him not to go to pre nursery.. most of my friends kids get shunted off there asap, so i do feel i need a reason if only to avoid discussing it and defending myself

am off on hols this week, with dh which will be lovely. never want to be away again without him.

mygreatauntgriselda · 25/09/2009 19:23

Blueberry congrats on nappy free bum. DS2 is not at nursery either, HE IS STILL MY BABY

We have mucho crap TV reception in every room but one and WIFI has never worked in our house

elvislives · 25/09/2009 21:12

Anyone else had a 2- 2.5 check? We had one unexpectedly when I dashed home last week. DD nearly talked the HV's head off so no problems there.

She is having loads of nightmares. Don't know if it's because of all the changes.

Blueberry very of your nappy free status. Seems we are really lagging behind compared to her peers both here and in RL.

kittywise · 25/09/2009 22:43

don't worry elvis Ron hasn't a bleeding clue potty training-wise.
Yes and he's still my baby too and STILL BF and STILL screaming.

how is everyone?

elvislives · 27/09/2009 15:02

Glad to hear you are still BF kitty.. I thought we were the only ones still BF. DD has a cold so is feeding far too much.. we were back to every 2 hours the night before last [crossed eyes emoticon]
