Don't worry daisy, this thread has waned in the past and every one has come back eventually. They all come back. Mwah ha ha ha ha!

Grr! Work! Can't wait to be PT again!

Bumper you did indeed see me, but my mn is mianly limited to lurking at the moment as ds will insist on wanting to feed whenever I get near the computer & he's a lazy litte bugger & won't stay latched on unless I'm holding him in a certain way . Still he's gaining loads (unlike dd at this stage) so can't really complain.... He's up from 7lb 15oz at birth to 9lb 6oz in 3.5 weeks

Sorry to hear all the stress on the jobs/health front - just the worst time of year for it...

DD has got a new phrase 'uh-oh', just about sums her up at the moment - a walking disaster area!!! But bless her she just brought me her empty breakfast plate having polished off loads of toast & marmite, so I'll forgive her the trail of crumbs across the floor.

Must go as we're braving a toddler group at 10 & it'll take me a while to sort us out (nappies, a bag with essentials & clean outfits - they are doing photos today!)

Ohforfoxsake · 19/11/2008 09:45

sorry to post and run last night. Been busy, busy, busy

We are at the 'uh-oh' stage. LO is driving me mad! Last night she pulled the games off the shelf and 'posted' the play money down the cracks in the floorboards. How much of my real money has been lost down there I wonder?

I have done my pre-Christmas clear out of toys, washing sofa covers etc etc. I like to do all this in the run up. And I have mostly done the shopping If only I could get on the buggering Debehams website.

Sorry to hear about the shit times. It sucks

educatingRia · 19/11/2008 10:16

blimey foxy. I am starting pre-xmas stuff, but leave the living room til last so it still has a chance of looking half decent come christmas morning

I want some of Jammy's cake. I have been a nice wifey and got up with the boys and got them all to school while DH had a lie-in (I know it's my job, but I have been making him help while he's been at home), I even got DS2 to walk to school without complaining

he is not sleeping better for the extra fresh air and activity though, and if anything my sleeping is worse.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/11/2008 11:06

Hello everyone, sorry I've not been around much recently. I've been intermittedly lurking but not really had time to post.

I have been trying to be productive during the times when I usually MN. Every wall, skirting board, picture rail, etc, etc has been cleaned and then gone over with one of those 'magic eraser' things. Everything looks loads better. I've also done some touching up of paintwork, filling of small cracks, etc. Frankly I'm shattered . We have a handyman coming in for a couple of days next week to do the last few jobs. House should be on the market by the end of next week.

In between that, I've also been over to our new house to unpack some boxes, supervise the new carpet, etc. Am also desperately researching wood burning stoves as I really want one, and need to persuade DH.

Sorry to hear all the job and illness woes.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/11/2008 11:07

God knows when I'm going to fit in doing the xmas shopping, etc . All online me-thinks..........

educatingRia · 19/11/2008 11:29

Hi fairy, when are you moving?

JBM is the person for wood-burning stoves, there is a link way back on this thread I believe.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/11/2008 11:56

We are moving out on 22nd December, but will stay with my parents until after xmas, which gives us a few days to unpack/sort out while my Mum looks after the DCs.

I will look for that link, thanks you.

Gotta run now otherwise I'll be late to collect DD and DS is still asleep

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 14:36

you guys are bloody fab and I love you all

boots.com delivered this morning . DH and I were overwhelmed by the contents...and are now full of chocolate . DD very happy with the Tomy egg box (our friends little boy has them and she loves playing with them), and I know DS will love the transformer. The smellies are gorgeous too and I can't wait to pamper myself and baby with them

Thank You All sooooooo much

Ekka........did i miss your birth announcement? If so I apologize and Congratulations. If I didn't....well congratulations again . Good for you at getting out and about already. I am so far away from being that organised with DD and DS2. Seeing the HV tomorrow so will find out how his weight is going, but he looks a lot fleshier to me and has outgrown one or two newborn babygros already so he must be putting on weight. Latch still crap unfortunately and I think the thrush from before is in my ducts again as my right boob is really sore, but we have had a few better feeds today so we are getting there slowly I think. If we could only get rid of the wind/colic.

Managed to get about five hours sleep last night, three of them straight so feeling on top of the world today!!

But DH is making me declutter...boo hiss. He has got this house looking really tidy and decluttered in two short weeks as well as doing all the laundry and cooking. It is showing me up for the domestic slattern that I really am

NattyTomAndEllen · 19/11/2008 15:30

Well the house is looking better butterfly...saying it looks nice is maybe a step too far

bless him though, he is starting to annoy me more than a little! He has just got tea on the go, and then comes marching through wanting to go through the toy box and do a toy sort out......with DD and DS still running around . I have promised i'll look at it once the kids are in bed and not before!

good luck with your move natty. have you found another house already? Good Luck for the scan tomorrow as well, and let us know how it went as soon as you get back; we'll only worry otherwise. and don't worry about the gift thing!

DS says thank you very very very much for the transformer toy. It's the bestest ever present anyone has ever sent him in the whole wide world (that grin is from him btw!!)

Young Finlay and I might be on the telly . My doula called. C4 news are doing a piece on the new tax thing (whatever that is ) and want to interview her doing her doula-ing. As he is the newest baby she has helped into the world, she wondered if we would be up for it! So, news crew coming here on Friday afternoon!!!

aw daisy fabby! we prob wont get it here in london, is it local only?
get someone to tape it and wack it on facebook for us

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 17:27

I don't know if it's Doula specific or to do with self employed peeps. I've not paid any attention to the news for ages, but it might have something to do with the governemt thinking of cutting taxes due to the credit crunch?

Natty, C4 news is countrywide as far as I'm aware; they don;t have regional stuff. The reason they have asked my doula probably is that she is well connected in News circles.....she used to work for Radio 4 as a producer and still does freelance stuff.

NattyTomAndEllen · 19/11/2008 17:59

oh kool when will it be aired!! i wanna see u on telly exciting!!!!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/11/2008 18:02

How exciting Daisy, you'll be a bona fide celeb! I'm glad the gifts went down well.

Natty, am sending you some good house-moving vibes

Sputnik · 19/11/2008 18:06

Cor Daisy, fame! Will it be on their website so I can see it too?

Natty sorry to hear you're having to move again. Crap housing and useless landlords are the pits.

Fairy your move sounds exciting, you should definitely get a woodburner, we've always had one, in fact we have now graduated to one of those fireplaces that runs the radiators too. Anyway they're brilliant because you can use them when you just want a cosy living room and don't really need to heat the whole house, or just to supplement your normal heating. We have saved loads of money with ours.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 18:27

Not sure when it'll be on or if it'll be online. i'll keep you posted.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 20:25

We are having a woodburner when we get the living room decorated. If lucky it might be in before the end of winter.

HollyWeen · 19/11/2008 20:39

We have 3 open fireplaces in our house, but they are all boarded up at the moment. Once the dcs are bigger I want to get the one in the living room and the one in our bedroom opened up so we can have real fires. My parents have a real fire and I love it.

Daisy, that is really cool! I hope it is a good piece. Can't wait to see you on the telly!

Fairy, hope the move goes well. It all sounds very exciting!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/11/2008 20:47

I'd love to just have an open fire but they are SO messy, so I thought an enclosed wood-burning stove was a good compromise, to keep us snug in the lounge in the evenings without heating the whole house.

Holly, I'm really sorry to hear that things aren't going great for you at the moment.

That sounds great Butterfly, what do you need to make a bath bomb? Do you think it is something that I could do with DD (3)?
