Well DH's exams are OVER!Yay.I am off this aft so we are going to go for a coffee sans kids and go and choose a carpet. The glamour.

I did not pop boil.I doused it liberally with tea tree oil.It had no effect at all.It is vile.

Talk to your neighbour lovely Mrs JB.And whilst you are about it tell her you've no time to do her French for her.Remember we all love you.

How exciting Tilly.Hey,How did the eye q work out?Any good?

whispersdons hat and mittens in excitement

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 14:35

Ooooh snow!!! Scoot - will you be at your mum's over Xmas? You could all come over en masse and visit us . Did you not come because of the boil?

So glad dh's exams are over, maybe you can get back to a bit of normality now. Carpet shopping is exciting, I love any kind of shopping. But then I am sad.

I am a state today, as I managed to snap the frame of my glasses, so am in work with them sellotaped together in manner of Jack Duckworth. Now that is glamour!

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/11/2008 14:37

Awww come on AM - admit it - you have a thing for random blocks don't you ??

WTF has happened to us all ?

Scoot - not sure if the eyecon has worked... i think they're a bit better than they were but not sure..

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 14:42

No-working all over Christmas

Some of it was down the the boil. Also my tragique hair.(which has now been fixed by my angel of a hairdresser.I will never risk going to anyone else again)

Chanelling Jack Duckworth is the new black.

Off to Allied I go..possible via Laura Ashley for curtainage.DH thought he was in for an afternoon of relaxation. He is downstairs watching Strictly-It Takes two that he sky plussed (please dont ask-he is soooo not straight sometimes)He is about to get a rude awakening

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 14:46

Forget carpet you need this i had the bubbles on my floor in the last house >

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 14:47

I love Laura Ashley. In my single fantasy life, my house is all decked out in Laura Ashley, all florals and delicate fabrics.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 14:51

Yes yes wwe all know Laura Ashley is lovely but we also KNOW that lots of her designs are Cath Kidston copies...

Now that site is heavenly

My house is mostly like her site.

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 14:55

L's bedroom is done in this here fabric. It's delicious.

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 14:58

'This here fabric'. Seriously, ladies, what is with us today!!!!

twelveyeargap · 20/11/2008 15:01

Oooh, gin. DH had the pebbles on the bathroom floor in his loft apartment. VERY cool. Would love to have the sand or grass ones when we eventually can afford to do up our bathroom.

Tilly, wasn't me who asked, but am really excited for you. I am a bit that I can't get married again! (Just for the party you understand.)

TMAM - I think it's lovely that the kids did a collection like that. Apart from anything else, it means they're aware of what's going on around them and nobody is "embarrassed" by charity the way people are here.

Dying to hear what's going on over in France!

Scoot, no my love, you are most definitely not the only one. So glad DH's exams are finished. When does he get the results?

We have not used the dummy since I posted this morning. He fell asleep in his cot briefly a couple of times, but was really struggling. Have put him down in the pram now, since he's used to daytime sleeps in there and he's flat out. Totally exhausted, poor lamb. I put A in bed and despite using MmeJB's trick of putting the grobag on backwards, she still manages to wiggle out of most of it, repeatedly, until I lose the rag. I took it off and gave her a blanket, but she hasn't worked out that it's nicer to lie under the blanket, rather than on top of it.

Am going to replace beaten up bin (I must take a pic and post it. You'll get another giggle LG&T) with one of those segregated bins. I currently have an enormous waste bin, plastic bag for recycling, small cooked food waste caddy and a garden compost caddy. Since I'm not going to be able to replace the bin without DH finding out (I did consider it), I might as well rationalise the current kitchen waste situation.

Pebblemum · 20/11/2008 15:03

Hello all, just a quick one before I need to get E from school.

Its been nice reading about all the things that make you smile, will add my own later when I have more time.

Cant remember if Ive been on here since last Wed but if I havent I will fill you in on what my idiot son has been up to. Yep Im talking about Jordan lol. He only went and fell on his arm again resulting in yet another 4hr trip to A&E only to come away not knowing if the fracture on the x-ray was a fresh one or not. We had to wait until Monday to find out for sure and luckily it was fine, there was no more damage and the previous fracture is healing nicely. After all that hassle with his school caling him a truant I made sure I sent him to school the day after the fall only for them to send him home again saying it was too risky forhim to be there I wonder how long it will be before we get another letter from them moaning about his attendance.

On a brighter note he has been given a solo signing part in the school play of Oliver. Its only about 5 lines but Im so proud of him. His friend who has been to every rehearsal (Jordan missed lots because of the holiday and broken arm) was only given one line and I dont think she's too happy lol

Must dash now but will try to get on later if my kids allow it

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 15:25

Oh PJ i heart the spot fabric, i wanted B's bedroom done in the circus but we never got round to it. The fabric bought eventually made bathroom curtains!

Pebble J needs to be bubble wrapped i think, or maybe polystyrene? You must worry everytime he leaves the house!

I found a great bin website the other day, we were looking for a replacement recycling one. NB i did NOT kick the shit out of mine Oh will be chuckling for days. Will look for it.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 15:26

TYG is this the first time that your mam will see O???

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 15:27

here it is!

MmeJaffa1ofyour5aday · 20/11/2008 15:27

She arrived with cake as a peace offering, she burst into tears and immediately apologised for upsetting me. She said she never meant to and hadn't really thought about how it all looked from my point of view. She is very difficult to talk to anyway, she's a quiet one and doesn't express her feelings well. She NEVER cries (unlike me), so I do believe she is upset about upsetting me.
We'll see things get any better. Oh and she invited us for dinner Saturday night once the kids are in bed. Not sure if that was to make us feel better or her though. She brought cake though, she knows me well see. I am more pleased that she had the balls to come over and address it. I felt it was up to her to do that and I have been fighting the urge to go there all day.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 15:30

Hooray! Glad she noticed she was upsetting you and you are right having the balls to come over and address it very comendable.

I have just put whinging B to bed and next door have started drilling FFS.

twelveyeargap · 20/11/2008 15:39

Great website G&T. Yes, first time mam will see the baby.

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 16:11

Just been reading some of our ante-natal threads. As you can see, I am rushed off my feet today.

I was much funnier before I had L.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 16:19

i read them the other day Pink to see if there were any clues to the early labour. They did make me laugh.

Found no clues though. She feels very low in my pelvis >

Good lord TYG that is ages to wait before seeing him. Are you pissed off or past it?

twelveyeargap · 20/11/2008 16:54

Sooooo past it.

Themasterandmargaritas · 20/11/2008 17:07

TYG at the bin kicking episode. Tell dh he did it himself when he last came home plastered. Hell girl you must have some kick in you to dint those bins!

You need to get yourself one of theseNeedless to say I have requested one for Christmas, to put by my front door and look at round about school run/breakfast/where's my library book? time.

at all this talk of chic things like wallpaper and funky floorings. You don't even want to contemplate what we have on our floors.

I bet even with tape on your glasses Pink, you still look classy. In that Scouse kind of way.

Today has been utterly odd, it started out quite normally, then we did the kids shoebox/presents thing and we rounded the day off with scottish country dancing in the school hall with a full on scottish ceilidh band and a Piper to boot! How random is that? We all did a few waltzes and White Sargeants, on our own and with the kids. Great fun..

Bravo MrsJB for holding your tongue and letting her realise something was not quite right. You know, in these small commmunities, we can't afford to lose a friendship even when they go through a blip like this. I am learning to try to keep my big mouth shut instead of being drawn in too much to school 'battles' or playground gossip. It's tough, when you are opinionated and a gobby cow like me but it pays off.

OMG, TYG I can't believe your mum hasn't yet seen O. Does she have a good excuse?

MmeJaffa1ofyour5aday · 20/11/2008 17:56

I am pleased we have sorted things, I was getting myself worked up. We were just eating tea when her son knocked on the door with an envelope. It was a handmade card with a drawing of the me to you bear on the front. Inside she has written,

I am so sorry for making you feel left out.
I would never knowingly hurt you. You are my closest friend and I would do anything for you and your family. I never want to loose you as a friend.
With all my Love. K xx

Think I may have made my point....eeeeek Lovely though of her. No more will be said now, I hope we can drop it and move on.

TMAM you are correct, in what you say about the small communities. I can't imagine how awkward it would be if we really fell out.

I'm laughing about the bin too!!!
