SOH i think she will be clean and dry before you know it. Its all about doing it when she is ready and without any pressure. She is one clever little lady!

Well.... i have just asnwered 5 out of the 7 questions on my project proposal. Whether it is any good or not is another thing! I have college tomorrow for the 1st time in 3 wks so will be able to ask the tutor for some handy hints and also check that i am doing ok with the proposal.

I have now rememebered why i didnt go to Uni!

charleymouse · 20/10/2008 00:46

Hello all will catch up at work tomorrow later today.
Much love to all.

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/10/2008 07:53

SOH - I am impressed by your dd as well. A little genius in the making I reckon.

I suspect Til might be some time away from constructing sentences. She still hasn't quite got to grips with yes and no. She shakes her head vehemently and says "no, no, no, no, no", when she actually means yes

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 20/10/2008 09:12

Off to catch up

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 20/10/2008 09:32

B will look forward to his Tilda lessons when she visits him next week. He says very little that is coherant. If he wants something he comes in babbles furiously and pulls you with him then points while jumping up and down till we 'get it'. Tis exhausting.

His eating habits are fabulous though, he takes his spoon and fork and trundles off to the Stokke to sit with the others. Feeds himslef evertything very well, they learn the essentials young in this house, eat or someone else will eat it for you

Come that weekend I am picking them up Sat or Sun but it only takes a 4 hour round trip. You could pootle off and Pill Box spot for day

We went for a growth and sexing scan on Friday. All well, deffo a girl. As she had kept her legs so tightly crossed i really didnt want any surprises on the day, Phin would have been distraught. She looks HUGE and had a chubby face. I think she weighs around 3lb already... Am 28 weeks today.

TYG the burpees sound murderous, well done you for doing it. The running with S is great too, like SOH says. Lovely to spend time with her.

We have no scales in this house and even though mil does i did not weigh myself when there this weekend. I couldnt bear it I feel massive and wobbly in all the wrong places.

Ooooh Tills you made the round up

CM hope the snot fest goes soon, you too Pink. I hate the endless snot and whinge. B was up for hours at MIL on Sat night. DH and i nearly lost it. He went to sleep in our bed in the end, fidget that he is.

Sky hope the Christening goes well! We need to see pics How is it going with them all now?

Also lol at all the 'man up' comments, dh would be so proud

AprilMeadow · 20/10/2008 22:11

Where is everyone?

Been to college today and was very worried at how behind i was given that i have missed 3 lessons. Seem to be doing ok and my project proposal is not too far away from being ready to hand in. I only have 2 more weeks to work on it which should be plenty of time. Tutors were impressed with what i had done given that everyone else has had 3 extra tutorials that gave them directon and handy hints in how to change parts of the proposal to make it more relevant. [smug emotion]

What have you all been up to?

TheGreatScootini · 21/10/2008 09:15

Hello all, sneaking on at work again.Laptop back today am hoping..have missed you all..

Spent all of 3 hours stuck on north circular last night as car broke down.Caused huge tail back (was mentioned on radio ,thought all other drivers were going to kill me-they were giving me death stares as they finally crawled past me! Couldnt go where I was going which was to see my friend in hosp (just had baby).Got back at 9.30 very indeed.

Do you know I was driving through leafy North London this morn and I saw this Angeline Jolie type woman doing these intense military style exercises..she had abs of steal..I could swear it was TYG....

Pinkjenny · 21/10/2008 10:56

AM - your HR mentor is glowing with pride.

AprilMeadow · 21/10/2008 11:03

Massive hugs to my fab mentor! Thank you

twelveyeargap · 21/10/2008 13:00

Poor you Scoot. If you'd called, I would have come and brought you some tea and a sandwich. I bet you weren't far from me.

Am v interested in your potty approach SOH. A has been telling me in advance of some of her poos for a while and has become v interested in doing wees in the bath. Will buy potty and see if she shows any interest when I tell her what it's for. Whatever about her, I am certainly not ready to chase her round training so your approach might let her take the lead.

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 13:13

We have a potty and C has produced two poos and two wees on it - I think purely by fluke and 4great timing on my part. If he has done a poo in his nappy and we ask him if he has he will nod. I tried to put him to bed the other night and he resisted and pointed to the changing mat - he had done a poo. I have no sense of smell bless him so he was telling me to change him before I put him to bed!

Had a great christening on Sunday, both boys were brill all day (will post piccies soon). C wouldn't be held by the vicar though and kept trying to climb up DPs arms and over his shoulder as he held him over the font!

L has a cold and we had a very snuffly night - he is making up for it today though as he has now been laid playing or asleep on the play mat for nearly 2 hours - bad mummy alert - better go and pick him up!

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 13:51

Whoops - L went back to sleep and he is still there!

C also in bed.

Now, shall I iron or sit down with a cup of tea and almond tart ahnd watch Drs?

Pinkjenny · 21/10/2008 14:04

I think you know the answer to that.

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 21/10/2008 14:17

Almond tart???

Have been too busy, need to rest and cant, tis the school run soon. Grrrr

Scoot poor you! Did you buy the shampoo and conditioner from Tesco yet? Very good.

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 14:30

Well I had my dads homemade almond tart and some christening cake! He made a 10" square fruit cake and a cake lady made a round sponge and iced them both. Loads of fruit cake left!

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 14:39

I have added a few piccies but haven't got many. I am hoping friends and family will email me some.

Got DD2 in Drs at 4.30. She has been poorly on and off since April and for most of our major occasions! She has had a bad throat and been really up and down - she was bad over the weekend but calpol and nurofen got her through the day on Sunday. She is better again now but throat still bad so going to lay it on thick and not leave until they take blood tests! DD2 doesn't know this yet.

MKG · 21/10/2008 18:45

I had my ultrasound today.

MKG · 21/10/2008 18:46

And it's a girl

AprilMeadow · 21/10/2008 18:50

Woo hoo, thats fantastic news MKG

twelveyeargap · 21/10/2008 20:11

Hurrah! That's great news MKG.

MKGisHavingaGirl · 21/10/2008 20:33

Thank you,

It's been a crazy week. But I am so happy that first and foremost the baby is healthy and that it's a girl.

I was so convinced she was going to be a boy.

JamInMyWellies · 21/10/2008 20:38

Great news MKG - Congratualtions.

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 20:48

Fantastic new MKG.

DD2 will probably have to see an ENT specialist or have blood tests for her immune system. We have to decide which route to take and let the GP know. At least he took us seriously.

I have a few questions about grobags as I have never used them before and intend to put L in one in a week or so when he goes from moses basket to travel cot.

I have two, one is 2.5 tog and one is 4 tog (fleecy inside). I have bought some long sleeved vests. Is the 4 tog one going to be too hot? Do you put them in it before the last feed?

twelveyeargap · 21/10/2008 21:08

Hi SKY. Glad the Christenings went well. Sorry that DD is sick.

I would think a 4 tog sleeping bag is only for camping or something??? Deffo very warm. You use a 4 tog quilt for older children, but then that's only one layer on top, whereas a Grobag is a 2.5 tog "cocoon" iyswim.

It goes like this

20C room = long sleeve bodysuit/ vest and 2.5 tog Grobag or short sleeve vest, long sleeve top and 1 tog grobag
18C room = short sleeve bodysuit/ vest and 2.5 tog Grobag.
16C room = short sleeve vest, babygro or pyjamas and socks and 2.5 tog Grobag.

If the room is warmer, then you use a 1 tog grobag and reduce the amount of clothes.
