Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 21:16

Thanks TYG. I thought the 4 tog one was a bit warm. It came free with a quilt I bought from ebay for C's cot so I haven't really paid for it.

elkiedee · 21/10/2008 21:16

Sky, 2.5 tog sounds warm enough with night clothes underneath. And when we used them last winter, we put D in before last feed, so yes, if you are feeding to sleep (I know there are lots of people who don't do that and lots of ideas that you shouldn't but....)

SKYTVADDICT · 21/10/2008 21:26

Oh, yes we feed to sleep in this house!

C still has a bottle at bed time and very occasionally goes to sleep on it but then again he doesn't go to bed until 9 O clock!

L did have an expressed bottle at the christening and everyone was very impressed with how well he took it (and how long he went until his next feed which was commented on by my mother!). He went about 6 hours and I was in agony wanting to feed him. He very occasionally goes 6 hours between b/fs as well though, just not very often!

twelveyeargap · 21/10/2008 21:35

There's a whole lot wrong with "waking to sleep" in manner of baby whisperer imo. Poor baby falls asleep having a lovely feed and you wake them up so they know they're going into bed? Madness. They wake up in the bed... Surely they make the connection?

O has started feeding every couple of hours in the day now, but he slept 11 hours the last two nights, so who am I to complain?

AprilMeadow · 22/10/2008 07:52

I did the feeding to sleep no way i was waking my little bubbas!

Well done to O for going 11hrs, it took over 3 yrs to get Jack to master that!

SKY, sorry that dd2 is not 100% at the moment, i hope you find out the reason behind it very quickly. C&L's cakes looked beautiful and they looked so cute in their little waistcoats.

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 22/10/2008 08:30

Lovely pics sky, you all look fanatastic! L looks huge already!!

MKG

Betcha glad you work in a kids clothes shop now, think of all the pink you are going to need to buy. Fab news, you must be thrilled. She will be well looked after by her big brothers too.

It's girls everywhere Jam! Look out, you may be next.

I have started a thread in Pregnancy, i am all puffy red patched eye plagued. WTF

My asthma has come back and this looks like excema, i have never had it before, in any pregnancy or before. Am confused and pissed off and in no way shape or form am i BLOOMING

AprilMeadow · 22/10/2008 09:08

Have posted a very helpful comment on your other thread

Is it still ok to come visit next week? Thursday is better for me......

AprilMeadow · 22/10/2008 11:37

Woo, we have tooth number 8!

ThemasterandmarGOREitas · 22/10/2008 12:24

OH MKG, Fantastic news!

Sky, I had a quick peek at the pics and the boys look so cute. Gorgeous cakes too. I do hope they find out what is up with dd2, stand your ground with the GP, your mummy instinct knows best.

Scoot but perhaps a slight giggle at the car breaking down and causing rush hour hell. Isn't it a new one?

Flamin Nora TYG, you don't do things by halves do you? You can keep your burpees thank you very much. I have just managed to run 10 kms this morning during which it was necessary to climb a few mountains. It was painful, especially when I slipped in all the mud and fell arse over tit right in front of several security guards and a matatu full of people My race is on Sunday.

SOH, it is so good to hear that Tilda is a pfb genius. Only the best for my boy. Dd was the same with the talking. now she is just too full of herself for words, reading age of 11, spelling age of 8 and the attitude of a blardy know it all. I try to beat it out of her, but she just isn't getting the message

J is only flying form, he has a few words and chooses very precisely when to use them. He is very clever already at charming people into doing what he wants to do.

Our guests are still here, behaving themselves well and playing endless kiddie games. We had a great deal of fun on safari, apart from when I was packing up B's toys, cars and small plastic animals, I picked up what looked to be one of his small plastic black scorpions but the bugger moved I screamed so loud I frightened myself.

MKGisHavingaGirl · 22/10/2008 12:42

OH yes am I glad I work in children's clothing. I already know what she's wearing home from the hospital, and will be picking that up today. I know what she's wearing for her first Christmas, Easter etc.

Apparently dh told the boys (I went to the scan by myself). Mateo came down the stairs from his nap when I got home and said, "Where's the baby girl" Apparently dh said that a baby girl was coming, and Mateo thought she was coming yesterday. He was so upset it was very cute.

charleymouse · 22/10/2008 16:54

DP's back is still bad so he has been working from home which means I get nothing achieved and he takes over the lounge so we are confined to the fmaily room and kitchen. The dog is on its final warning after taking it out for a walk this arvo it nearly pulled me over several times then chased and caught a rabbit and I had to chase him round the field he then wouldnt come to put his lead on. Well done on your report writing AM..To the Top of the class you go..

How do to everyone else..

Am having tum problems again so back to Dr's for me it seems..feel knackered as ever.
DH revisising for dear life and not getting back till 10 most nights (nad doing college every weekend now for the next month)Havent actually seen the man since last Thursday other than to say bye to in the morning (I leave before he is really awake)

Was browsing through a book about the drugs culture in North London today (bit random but had some time to kill in Borders)Was surprised to find that the road I used to live on had on it two known crack houses and a Brothel! And there I was gaily sauntering off the night bus, drunk as a skunk, saying hello to the 'friendly' types on the road who always seemed to be up at all hours. Its a wonder Im still alive!!I beg of you!

twelveyeargap · 22/10/2008 22:14

Ooh, I'd love to have a look at that book scoot. We've lived all over North London.

I am waiting in for Fridge repair man tomorrow between 8 and 1, but if he comes early, I'll give you a call. If he's late, then A needs a nap around 12 and won't be up til 2ish, but I could come after that maybe?

You're welcome to pop in anytime of course...

You need to find out what the magic spray for the engine was. Expect the plugs got damp or summat. Find out what the spray is and where to spray it and keep it in the car just in case.

What's this meet up on Friday?

AbbyLou · 22/10/2008 22:14

Hi all, it's the week and I'm here!!
CM - thanks for asking, it's 2 more days to half term.
I'm looking forward to another bad night here. Last night it was R who unusually for her was finding it very hard to settle. She ended up down here with us eating Tarragon chicken and mushrooms which she loved!! I was up and down to her many times last night. Then tonight C has been sick once all over his bed and has woken up twice with night terrors. We finally managed to convinve him that we are not the mortal enemy and he is fast asleep now in our bed with dh. I have a feeling I will end up in his bed tonight.
I am so busy at work I feel like I'm going to expldoe so I can't wait for the holiday. We are off to sunny Yarmouth for 5 days in a chalet. I hope it will be ok, it's really just a holiday for the kids to choose what we do and where we go. Hopefully C will be feeling better by then.

JamInMyWellies · 22/10/2008 22:48

Scoot SOH and I are meant to be meeting in Cambridge this Fri, if you fancy coming juliewoolie10 @ yahoo . co . uk

Am still up for meeting it will get me out of this mad house. Mail me and we can sort out a time and place.

DP been told it will take 7wks or so for his back to heal and he needs to be off for about 4 wks. I will be in a lunatic asylum by the end. Do you think I could get myself hospitalised somewhere for the remainder of the pregnancy.

JamInMyWellies · 22/10/2008 22:49

sorry Abbey hope you have an ok night. Bring on half term.

elkiedee · 23/10/2008 00:48

Scoot, what's the name of that book? I've not been aware of crack houses but it's a possibility in any of the streets I've lived in including current one. I was fairly sure that there was a brothel at the end of my road near the 2nd house I lived in in London though - it advertised saunas etc but surely people don't go for those at 11 pm at night and it was always open for business....

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 23/10/2008 08:09

Scoot i have some very nice shampoo and conditioner to send you it may be the cause of weird eye patches. Not that i wish them on you i just think i am having a pregnancy body huff Get the sparay Scoot, what a nightmare if that happens every morning it is damp!

TYG, AM is coming to me next Thursday anyone else fancy it? I know you work Scoot

Abby roll on half term, hope you manage to have a fab time and the kids are all better by then.

B was murderous yesterday, so was i tbh. He was non stop all day and i was ready to burst at the end. I had a Stella and some banoffee pie to calm me.

I plan to have a quiet day today, make stew and dumplings amd be chilled

Crack houses and brothels nice...

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2008 09:52

Hi all

I'm ignoring talk of all these meet ups. I am discriminated against, oop norf.

L is not so good, raging hot last night, she slept OK, but didn't go down until 9.30pm so she is very tired and grumpy today. There is a bug going round nursery, so I fear it is our turn next.

LG&T - what is this shampoo and conditioner you speak of? I am using Pantene on my frizz curls at the moment, not sure about it. And Loreal have discontinued my mousse, which is horrifying.

Jam - poor dh. I suspect he will milk it for all it's worth? Sorry you're feeling a bit shit at the mo. ((hugs)) to you.

Scoot - all this talk of crack houses. Do you ever see George Michael hanging around them? I love him so, and I was OK with the dogging, but the crack habit? Not so much. Am having withdrawal symptoms from all teen drama, and am watching Season 1 of Brothers and Sisters. Tis good, but not a patch on OTH or 90210.

AM - I have printed off your proposal and will reply to you this morning, as my boss is off!

CM - my lovely, we must meet up! A nice Chistmas style get together.

TYG - I'm in awe of you. That's all I've got to say to you!

I am very excited today as my friend has confirmed we have got our tickets to go and see New Kids in January. I discovered this morning whilst listening to my CD that I still know all the words, and all the raps. Said friend wasn't sure I should be bragging about that. Barry and New Kids in two months? It's concert tastic!!!!!!!!!!!

VASTlargeginandbloodymary · 23/10/2008 10:01

Tis a new Tesco range. Naturals or summat, i have the hydrating shampoo and intensive moisturising conditioner.

Hope L is ok, she may just be cutting teeth, B has been very up and down with his lately. His bum gets so sore, cracked and bleeding too. I have had to rinse the lotion out of the wipes before doing some nappy changes

I am hoping he has a good nap today, too many disturbed day time naps is making him vary cranky.

You are crazy, NKOTB wtf??? I was too old i think to like them, busy shagging going out by then

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2008 10:04

Listen Tonic Lady, you were not too old, you are younger than me!!! Fess up, you had the posters on your wall!

We've had the nappy rash problems here too. She seems to have been cutting these canines for about six months! I do hope she doesn't get the vomming thing, you know how hysterical upset I get when she's sick...

Poor B, sending good nap vibes.
