Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Where, I'd like to know, is DD's second tooth? DS's always came through in pairs -- so lower left, followed about a week later by lower right, then a gap of several weeks/months until the next pair came in. But DD has been unidont (unident? monodont?) for a month already...

SalLikesCoffee · 30/09/2008 15:03

Lol PAL. Have to keep you on your toes, otherwise it'll all be too easy, you see.

Honest opinions please (so please feel free to say if you think it's ugly / inappropriate) - what do you think of this Christening gown on a rather cubby almost-8 month old boy?

VictorianSqualor · 30/09/2008 15:08

I think it's lush Sal.

Where oh where is Scorpio, I spoke to her yesterday and she was supposed to be back today!

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 30/09/2008 15:10

I think it's nice -- traditional but not too fussy or frilly.

LadyBee · 30/09/2008 15:42

I like it a lot, but I'd be tempted not to have the bow, and just keep the sailor-type collar and puffed sleeves - beautiful Sal, though

I feel a bit wrung out - first counselling session today and it was, well, damp
VS, where is the traumatic birth support thread, think it could be useful while I go through this.

Plus have had screaming DS, which is really unusual for him. He's only a couple of days younger than Alex though, so who knows, maybe he's also about to sprout a tooth.

Tomorrow I am going into the passport office to try to get DS's passport. Somehow I think it will not go smoothly. Maybe if I keep thinking the worst I will be pleasantly surprised

VictorianSqualor · 30/09/2008 15:56

here LadyBee it's not been used for a while but feel free to re-jump-start it, I'll have a read tomorrow

OP posts:
SalLikesCoffee · 30/09/2008 16:48

Thanks for the feedback re gown, think this is my favourite. I kind of agree with you re bow Ladybee - will discuss with dh tonight, but that did bother me a little.

I've just read the traumatic birth support thread. To everyone involved, whether you posted there or not, I am so sorry that I never really realised exactly how hard it must have been. Not really sure what to say, except that I hope you get all the help to work through it all.

scorpio1 · 30/09/2008 19:19

Hi

laptop back. Mimi massive and me - 9st 4lbs whoop whoop

still bf-ing, everything pretty much normal!

scorpio1 · 30/09/2008 19:20

oh and dh realised and is so diff now!

SalLikesCoffee · 30/09/2008 19:21

Whooooh Scorpio, glad to have you back!!

Promised dh I'll stop chatting every night, so bye from me! Night all.

SalLikesCoffee · 01/10/2008 09:32

Good morning.

Scorpio, missed your last post last night - that's great news.

What's everyone up to today? I've got an appointment at gp's to check out R's ears. I suspect he might have slight ear infection from the extended cold, poor thing. Will also get my referral letter for my eyes at the same time. If (which I seriously doubt) we finish in time, I'd love to go to mother and baby screening at cinema, otherwise probably just a stroll through Greenwich town centre and trip to Waterstones, my new favorite.

Soph73 · 01/10/2008 12:08

Afternoon.
Scorpio, pleased your back and everything OK.
Sal - so far this morning I have taken Sam for his physio (poor thing has snuffles & a cough), dropped him off at nursery, nipped to the supermarket then came to work - all before 11.30 - phew

scorpio1 · 01/10/2008 12:13

SOPH Hello my lovely! Sam is so beautiful, massive chubby cheekies!!

Soph73 · 01/10/2008 12:19

Thanks Scorpio. You should see his face when he laughs it´s hysterical They are really pleased with him at the hospital and all the ladies at the nursery are in love with him .... he´s such a flirt, just like his Dad (couldn´t have got that from his mum)

scorpio1 · 01/10/2008 12:22

Millie is v flirty too - def from her dad!

Glad they are pleased at the hospital - its Mosaic Downs he has, isn't it? I remember that its quite 'mild', yes? (from nursing training i did) None of that matters when you are so cuuuute anyway, lol

So you are back at work then? Hows that going?

Soph73 · 01/10/2008 12:32

Just looked at her smiley photo, she´s gorgeous
Yes, it´s mosaicism & yes it seems to be mild.
Being back at work is, so far, going OK. It´s like as though I´d never left. It´s just very tiring what with all the tooing and froing with Sam. I´m sure we should get an autopilot fitted in our car

scorpio1 · 01/10/2008 12:34

i think we should have an autopilot function! Glad work is being ok, i saw a baby at nursery yesterday, 12 weeks but i suppose needs must!

Soph73 · 01/10/2008 12:48

It´s the worst thing in the world Scorpio It goes against most of what I believe when it comes to child rearing but we need the house so hey ho I just have to keep reminding myself that as long as he´s fed, watered, cuddled & played with he doesn´t mind who's doing it ... aren´t babies fickle sometimes And they are fabulous at his nursery.

scorpio1 · 01/10/2008 12:53

it helps to have a great nursery, and dont worry, he knows who mummy is! i have always been a lazy SAHM so we have always coped on one wage, so know no different.

have to go back out again for van tax. poo.

Soph73 · 01/10/2008 13:28

Have just found out that once Sam´s been assessed (hopefully in the next couple of months) we´ll be getting 328 euros from social security. Which will help as I´ve had to cut my hours & am spending more on petrol than ever before.
Hope you don´t have to queue scorpio - I hate queueing.

SalLikesCoffee · 01/10/2008 16:39

Wow Soph! You get my vote for Superwoman of the week!

Scorpio, hope the tax stuff went smooth and without any waiting.

The doctor was lovely - unfortunately he is only a "temp" doctor (don't know what they're called - those that only stay with the surgery for 6 months ) so maybe I should develop all my future illnesses in the next 5 months and have it over and done with! R doesn't have ear infection, apparently only a very bad cold (or according to the dr two different types of cold one after the other, which is why it's so hard on the poor thing). I think I'm in love with this doctor - he opened the door for me, pushed the pram all the way to the lift and everything. Hmm, maybe I should go hang around in the infectious diseases area at the nearest hospital...

Went to movie in the end, but it was rather depressing. From now on no more deep and meaningful movies for me - nonono, chickflicks as intellectual as they'll be!

LadyBee · 01/10/2008 17:37

What did you see Sal? I haven't been to a Big Scream session for ages and really fancy it but keep missing all the films I'd actually be interested in.

I have actually had an easy time at the passport office
I didn't have to wait long for my appointment
The man dealing with me was polite and calm and helpful
He didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with the application & documents I'd given
He said we should have the passport in a week's time.

Everyone send good thoughts to the passport agency and let this continue on, it's one piece of beaureaucracy (thought if I just put as many vowels as possible in that word some of them would be right) I really want to go smoothly so I can get on with buying tickets.

Can someone with an IKEA highchair please explain to me how to get the tray off. I have it on, and want to take it off and can't work out how

SalLikesCoffee · 01/10/2008 18:08

Saw Linha de Passe. Good, but even though it ends with them all having some kind of hope, I walked out there rather depressed. The kind of movie where you really need to be at home with a glass of wine sobbing about the unfairness of it all...

On the upside, I booked tickets for dh and myself to see the new Bond end Oct.

SalLikesCoffee · 01/10/2008 18:10

Oh, and wonderful news re passport office!!! It's almost too good to be true! Must be B's charm. I'm booking him for the day when I have to show my face near any government institution again.

Peachy · 01/10/2008 22:14

Soph are the euro's automatic- is that like DLA? gawd i hate dla! well the cash comes in handy each time ds1 trashes his room- its the forms I hate!
