CB get one. It has got a little niche on the back where you slide in your goggle strap - don't know where you would put it if you don't where goggles though.... Spent about 5 minutes fannying around with it (do the ear pieces go over or under your swim hat? etc) but it was fantastic to be able to swim to your own fave tracks!! I deffo swam faster and harder and for longer (usually do 40 lengths of various which takes 20 minutes, this morning did half an hour of front crawl with only a few breathers). The only problem was the sound quality was a bit intermittent from ear to ear, so I phoned Speedo when I got home and they said some of them have dodgy connecting wires and they are sending me a new set of headphones - no need to replace the whole thing thank god as have already uploaded about 100 songs onto it.

It was great, although I did get some funny looks. I wonder if it was a bit loud....

I'm 34 on Saturday. How can that posibly be?

PixelHerder · 05/02/2009 13:18

Hi Girls

lol at singing while swimming HC, I have visions of you valiantly gurgling and choking as you try to belt out your favourite numbers in the pool Bummer about the sickness, hope it goes soon. On the upside, at least it's an unmistakable symptom isn't it!

Ceebee - gorgeous pics, Sam looks very happy and extreeeeemely cute. And so like a dark-haired Josh, it's amazing isn't it??

The i-swimmer thing sounds good Bloss, hope the new earphones sort it out. I read the other day on the Radio threads that you can get an i-pillow (or some such thing), for listening to the radio at night - I want one of those! I have one earphone in nearly all night as I go to sleep listening to Radio 4 or 7, then wake up with a sore ear. Apparently this pillow has no wires, but you can't hear the radio unless you press your ear to the pillow - so it doesn't disturb your partner!

I don't know about the swimming lessons Skay - Emma hasn't ever had any. In fact her first ever visit to a swimming pool was last week (I know, I know...) She was terrified but very brave, we've been a couple of times since and she does enjoy it, just need to get her some proper arm bands now.

Hope Roshi gets on okay on Friday Spin, sounds like she's ready for it. Completely understand about feeling about it - but just think of all that lovely free time!! Thanks for the warning about the flip-flops, yes I think we'll steer clear for a while. I remember the croc trauma last summer as she tried (and failed) to put put them back on each time she pulled them off (which was frequently). Mucho wails of frustration and flinging of shoes across the room...

Hi Annie!! Hope you get to Ireland okay to carry out your Godmotherly duties - does this signal the end of your time of abstinence then?

oh and Bloss - ye can feck off with your 34 - I'm 44 this year, how did that happen!

Snow all gone here, just a bit cold, rainy and mulchy, lovely. Been to soft play this morning, so had my workout and feeling virtuous. So virtuous I came home and had biscuits Just off to afternoon playgroup in a min... I'm sure the walk through the rain will burn off loads of calories.

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2009 14:58

Oh, I need one of those pillows. I can never sleep and listen to the radio on my mobile but the earphones do hurt. Must investigate as DH doesn't like being disturbed.

blimey I am asleep before my head hits the pillow! Mind you, as I have just burnt my hand quite badly on a saucepan handle making a fecking Shepherds Pie for tea (THIS is why i do not cook) sleep might be a bit of an issue tonight as it hurts like a bugger.

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2009 18:12

Ouch Bloss-have you put anything on it? I have bought all the ingredients to make a Shepherds Pie for Sunday tea but the thought of cooking it makes me go ew. I know, you can come and do it.

Happy Birthday to me!

Kids stayed at Mum's with my sisters last night, DH and I played squash (hand bandaged and covered in D's cycling glove but was determined to play), really great fun and so nice to do something together for a change! Total bliss this morning, lovely lie in, birthday cup of tea in bed, peace and quiet! Although house does seem very empty for a saturday morning...

Off to IKEA now.

Byeee.

Happy Birthday Bloss!

skay · 07/02/2009 16:28

Hello to all,

(Now that I'Ve caught up on everyone's posts.)

Bloss - Have you put Sudocream on it. I know it's nappy cream, but it does actually say it's good for burns on it too. I gave it a try when I scalded myself a while ago. It works!

HC - I make a mean Shepards Pie. (DH very kindly says so.) I put in the Quorn mince and a few chilles, ginger and garlic. Few more herbs and spices too. Mind you whenever I do make Shepards Pie I have to make 2 lots. One with lots of spice and one without. (Sorry if this has made your stomach turn, I know how hard it can be when someone mentions cooking and you can't stand the smell of it.) Any way on the bright side, you'll only have another 6 weeks of nausea to go through and then you should be fine.

Aglach - How are your plans for the pamper night going? Have you managed to find a screen? Or managed to find an alternative to a screen?

See you all soon

SK

Ceebee74 · 07/02/2009 16:54

spin-how did you keep the MRI to yourself? My dad had to have one when they were trying to find out why he collapsed. Such a long time in there. Hope all is good on Tuesday. As for being caught in the act Thankfully it hasn't happened yet.

I have never felt this bad with MS, sorry for moaning.

Big wave to all.

Have stuffed half a packet of Rich Tea Fingers today. Off to mum and dad's so they can feed Em and Soph as I'm sick of looking at food. Am giving up going to WW for a while as can't face sitting there feeling icky.

One of the girls in Emma's class came running up to me tonight to invite herself round for tea. I said sometime in the future. Crikey, can't be doing with playdates at the moment. When I asked Emma if she played with this girl at school she said no. How strange.

Hope all OK.

Hi all, thanks for Birthday wishes! Had a lovely weekend, and a great Burns Night, got extremely drunk, danced ridiculously to Scottish music, felt absolutely terrible on Sunday.

Burnt hand is still really really sore. One of the burns is 2nd degree I think, and right on a crease so everytime I move it it splits open again!

In London today, very tiring, and tomorrow, and Wednesday.

Sorry you are feeling sick HC. I must be broody without realising it, as in my drunken state I was sellotaped to my friend's huge bump - she is due 22nd Feb. I was feeling for movement of it all night, and talking to it, what a loon!

Babysitting for a friend tonight. Are you watching Rupert HC in Whitechapel?

Re MRIs - hope your results are ok Spin. Mum had her 3rd on Friday, came out crying. They really upset her so I hope it's the last one.

Bloss

xx

HumphreysCorner · 10/02/2009 10:03

spin-you get your results today don't you? Hope all is fine.

Bloss-glad you had a great Birthday. You madwoman, sellotaped to a PG lady? Hope your mum is OK after the MRI ordeal. I have recorded Whitechapel as I can't stay awake beyond 9-30pm. Am offloading the girls to MIL's hopefully next weekend and my parents the weekend after which will save me from food cooking hell.

The ickyness continues, please tell me it does get better.

Love to all.

HumphreysCorner · 10/02/2009 10:04

That was meant to read that after offloading girls I could watch Whitechapel in peace during the day.

Oh spin, pleased for your good news. The playground thing shall pass very soon but it is heartbreaking watching Chili being so upset. Children can be so cruel but they don't know they are doing anything wrong. They also change their friends as often as they change their socks. {{xx}}

Hi Ladies,
Back from the wilderness, had a nice enough time - so many kids though, but it was nice to see all the family and even nicer to get back to my own bed yesterday! The babies enjoyed it too, complete and utter chaos though it was, and are starting to interact much more with their cousins.
I'm now a proud Godmother of course, even though my two were shouting and running all over the church while the star of the show was good as gold!!

Spin, great to hear your results are normal, what a relief it must be for you. How for Chili though, but as HC says, it's just one of those things.
Good luck on Friday with Roshi, will she not be going to the same school as Chili though?

HC, sorry to hear your MS is so bad, but IT WILL PASS! I have no advice, just to wait it out, I recall my head down the toilet too for about three months... Great way to lose weight!

Belated Happy Birthday Bloss!!! Sounds like you had a ball!! A child-free day is the perfect present methinks.
Hope the burn clears up, it does sound painful. for your Mum too.

Hi Pix!!! Yes my abstinence ended with the Ireland trip, though it never actually really got going so it was more of a guilt-free session than usual. I couldn't compete with Bloss this time I'm afraid. But hey, there's always next month year.

According to Facebook, Flick is in Auckland. Ring any bells?!

Well ladies, it's nice to be back. Some of my mozzies died in my absence, so even less work now!!

Laters!

thefortbuilder · 11/02/2009 15:00

I'm so you've all been looking for me!

I know I know I know my NY resolution....I'll fill you all in but first

HC O'H MY GOD WELL DONE YOU I'm so proud of you!!! hope you start feeling better soon

Anyway, we got back from NZ via a couple of days in singapore, this morning. never flying qantas again - forgot our bassinet for first part of the journey to singapore so we did auckland / sydney / singapore having to hold a very hefty 10.5 month old.... but great holiday and having been away for 3 weeks have come back to huge pile of post / laundry / work to do!

start of the year was hectic to say the least - did big trade fair for the business in mid jan (3 days before we went on holiday) and managed to get myself a host of new clients to stock the lambskin stuff, as well as interest from a big london dept store beginning with H which will be great if it comes off.

bloss for how you are feeling - are you feeling better now at all?

pixel also for your FIL - how are you doing now?

Spin how is chilli doing now?

skay i arrived onto this thread late so hi!

gotta go sam yelling, and we're all a bit jet lagged so sophie not dealing well with the boys this afternoon....
