Afternoon all,

Aglach When is your pamper night? Have you had it yet? Let us know the details.
Well done to your DS. My dad made me save up to buy my own car after I passed my test. Took ages but was worth it.

Bloss - Well done to you for staying away from wine. I'm trying to stay away from chocolate. Tis not working. Everyday I wake up and say to myself - I will not eat chocolate. Then I get halfway through the day, and my willpower has gone.

HC - Did you read this news article about the 70 year old mother?

I know that is going just too far...
My SIL is TTC, and she's 42.

Nice of Emma's friends mum to buy you flowers for having her DD round to play. I've had Sujay's friends round for tea, and he's been invited back. Not had flowers though.

Annie - I didn't do much H/work yesterday, but had been round round like a blue-arsed fly while Kavya was at school.

Beadmum - Congrats. Didn't realise you were preggers too.

Not much happening here. I've got a Coffee morning planned for tommorow. I've got tons of h/work to do.

Bye

SK

Afternoon all

By some miracle, both boys are asleep so I have some spare time - wow! Josh stopped having naps when Sam was born but I think he is so bored of my company this week that sleep is a better option Thank god he can go back to nursery tomorrow!!

Josh also did a wee on the potty this morning and got a chocolate as a reward! I am not potty training but he wanted to take his nappy off (normally he wees on the floor when he does this) so I said he could if he weed on the potty - which he did! Still not going to potty train just yet but at least we are moving in the right direction!

No idea where Flick is - really hope she is ok! I think I will go and search for her on other threads like a stalker

Evening all

Been rushed off my feet all day (as per bloody usual)

Am having new kitchen put in hopefully on the 9th of February so lots of stuff to do,picking flooring/lighting etc. DH decided in a hurry and i have had less than a week to pick a kitchen/have the designer out. Men eh??

DS1 driving around like a good un. The mums at nursery were sooo impressed when he took dd1 up yesterday lol. Got her shoes changed and a big kiss and cuddle goodbye. He is always like that tbh. Managed to get him on the insurance fully comp for £668 so they will be sharing it till he saves up for a car. He will pay extra dig money each month to pay for the insurance.

Having to go out and do shop for nursery tonight. They are having a banquet tomorrow for Chinese New Year and i need bits for us too. Would rather have a nice hot bath with candles and a huge Gin & Tonic but hey needs must.

Have a good night all xx

aGalChangedHerName · 29/01/2009 18:19

Skay pamper night is 14th of March. Have heard rumours that the treasurer is going round telling all and sundry that she's having to do most of the organising herself Cheeky cow!! She can be the fecking fundraiser next year if she's so desperate for praise/recognition. Ach well there's always one i suppose.....

aGalChangedHerName · 31/01/2009 17:28

Hello again!!

Gosh where are you all? It's very quiet in here.

Just waiting for DH to phone ds1 to go pick him up from work. Ds1 took DH's car to work (started at 6am) so DH took mine. Walked to DH's work to get the car,was nice to have a walk out in the fresh air. Took girls to a newly refurbished park nearby and home.

Been doing loads of tidying and cleaned the bathrooms and ironed. Am soooo bored.

I am meeting up with a a couple of MNers next Sat for lunch and window shopping so looking forward to that.

Waiting to hear back from the guy at IKEA. Getting a new kitchen and just need the quote so we can get started on flooring etc.

Must think about dinner have chicken and minced beef in the fridge but lacking imagination and motivation to actually do anything about it.

Is it too early for a gin dya think? That might help me to plan dinner.

Have a good weekend all xx

PixelHerder · 31/01/2009 18:27

Agalch - lol, I just poured myself (and MIL) a large gin at 5.30 - you must have sent gin vibes through the modem (or should that be Gin )

Sorry not been on much, FIL died last week in hospital so been quite full on with visitors and family stuff.

Emma seems to have swallowed some sort of manic pill today - I was only congratulating myself yesterday on what a nice calm toddler she is, then today she has done nothing but shout 'no', order everyone around and has not stopped running around the place like a blue-arsed fly

Oh well, back to the gin

Oh but before I forget, CONGRATS HC !!!!! What lovely news, got everything crossed for a nice smooth pg for you.

Gotta dash, hi to all and will try and catch up soon xxx

aGalChangedHerName · 31/01/2009 18:35

I am on my 2nd large onw Pixel

I get so fed up at weekends when DH is at work. It just feels like a weekday except that there's no nursery or what have you to break up the day. Have done our local heritage centre to death and i hate soft plays so it's hard to know what to do with the dd's.Was palnning to go swimming but got the dreaded AF again. Can't use tampons as i had my coil fitted and doc said no tampons for 2-3 weeks.

Oh well nearly gin No3

PixelHerder · 31/01/2009 19:15

Agalch - Mooncup??? Or are they out of bounds as well?

aGalChangedHerName · 31/01/2009 19:20

Pixel i have a slight prolapse so i haven't had any joy with using it so i didn't ask the doc.

Oh joy DH is now on at me to go out for a meal. I so can't be arsed. Just want to get my pj's on and veg out lol.

ImpyChica · 31/01/2009 19:40

Hi all

Just a quickie to say sorry about your FIL Pixel , hope you're ok. Give yourself a huge hug from me. Glad to see you (and Algach) are hitting the gin - always helps!

Impy xxx

Ceebee74 · 31/01/2009 20:05

Just checking in to say to Pixel about your FIL. Sympathies to all your DH and family x

HumphreysCorner · 31/01/2009 21:00

Evening all,

Pix, sorry to hear about your FIL, must be tough.

Also have two manics. Not only has Joey pee-ed on the floor three times since yesterday AND this morning in bed (first time ever since losing the nappies), he's also refusing to eat unless we feed him like a baby. Mimi is wolfing everything in sight however, managing to stay awake all day long, getting narky after lunch, not fighting bedtimes so much, and generally sleeping through most of the night.
I still shout a lot and get narked when DH tells me what to do (either directly or muttering under his breath 'i'm sick of doing this I've been doing it all week')

so, PMT I think...

Anyways, red wine will cure all!!

Nite ladies
Great news that you got your money back HC!!

Sorry, must just share my rant as still seething. Pixel, sorry it is a FIL moan. Copied from my AN thread:

Our day has ended dreadfully. Went to B&Q then the Pizza Hut then called in at PIL at 7pm. The girls were really tired and hyper and then DH went upstairs with his dad on the computer for 30 mins. During this time the girls were running, screaming and climbing all over the settee. Knocking cups and ornaments. Several times I said to stop, MIL said nothing. In the end I seperated them and said that's enough! When DH came down I said it was time to go and I'm not putting up with it. He said they are always like that at PIL and I said that they don't do that at my parents or our house so they are not to do it there. Apparently MIL lets them do it and never says no. FIL thought I was being unreasonable and that I didn't know how to look after them. I was so cross and DH accused me of speaking to him as if he was a child-I did not!

Thanks for letting me rant! FIL is one of these that doesn't speak to you for ages if you upset him in any way.

TheGoddessBlossom · 01/02/2009 08:25

Nightmare HC, and it must be annoying that DH doesn't back you up. particularly annoying that he diesappeared upstairs leaving you to endure it all. Do PIL know about BFP yet?

So sorry to hear about FIL pixel. Hope you are all ok.

Got a wine headache. On 2 glasses of wine. Am such a lightweight. DH can finally drink tonight, although as he is out running and still on a tremendous health drive I doubt he will. He has lost over a stone since NYD.

Mum has finally been diagnosed has having had a small stroke in the last 2 years at some point. So basically she has been locked in a mental box unable to communicate because of it with everyone treating her as if she was losing her marbles. She has another more focussed MRI scan next Friday, BIL knows people that work in that department of the hospital and got her appt moved up by 5 months! Amazing really.

Took boys to Fizzy Kids Friday morning (soft play) and despite me arriving there barely speaking to them due to their beahviour in the car on the way over, it was good fun. H had a friend to sleepover Friday night which was also fine, apart from the 5am wake up call. DH cooked scallops with prosciutto ham on sweetcorn puree, followed by fish stew last night. Divine.

Algach, snap, my new kitchen starts week commencing 16th! So excited. Got ours from B&Q but going to IKEA next Saturday (sans kids thank god) to buy entirely new crockery, cutlery, glasses, mugs, the whole shebang. Got enormous honey coloured tiles for the floor, oak kitchen, cream walls and I am going for black porcelain splashback tiles as worksurfaces will also be black marble. DH wanted to intersperse them with cream ones, but I wasn't sure, what do you think? I think it will be ok with grey grout to break it up....decisions decisisons....getting a huge Amercian style double fridge, and a table and chairs so we can finally eat in the kitchen, rather than always using the dining room.

I have imposed a ban on TV while the kids are eating. They ten to eat in the playrooom and I usually let them watch TV (bearing in mind 4 days a week they eat all meals at nursery and don't watch TV there). But having read that report of viewing, the only "rule" we seemed to be breaking was allowing tv during meals, and although I am certainly not a stickler for rules, it does seem to have made a difference. They argue talk to each other more, and concentrate on eating their food, rather than me ending up spooning it in just to get the meal over with...

Anyway I'll stop waffling on. Catch you all soon!

Bloss

Spin, I remember that first day at school so well. Emma was so ready for school so it was kind of OK. Good luck.

Bloss-a mini stroke eh. The scanner should tell more shouldn't it? The kitchen sounds a dream. Is your fridge shiny black? I love the black marble worksurface and no, you don't want cream on the tiles. Not telling the PIL about the baby until at least 9 months time! FIL was hooting his horn here at 9-15am, we were all still in bed as girls were shattered and so was I. Do people not think anymore?

Off to my mum and dad's for a post Christmas Dinner later so that will be a calmer affair. Big wave to all!

TheGoddessBlossom · 01/02/2009 12:58

yes girls, thanks I agree re black tiles. Work tops are black marble but matt, cannot bear the gloss tops that show every wipe mark, and I wipe mine alot!! (OCD) No fridge is matt silve, did think about a black one but thought it might detract from the feeling of space we are trying to create.

Good luck for Chilli tomorrow Spin, not that he will need it, good luck for you letting go of your baby! Please do post a pic would love to see, feel like I know Chilli, and will feel emotional myself at him starting school!!!

TheGoddessBlossom · 01/02/2009 13:20

DH is getting me this for my birthday (7th)! So I will HAVE to go swimming...

aGalChangedHerName · 01/02/2009 20:18

Pixel how awful (((hugs))) xx

Spin aww your wee boy all grown up eh? Yes do post a pic. Dd1 starts school in August and Eilidh will start nursery at the same time
Sounds bad but after the long hard slog of having 2 lo's getting to school age then having another 2 lo's i am bloody knackered. Looking forward to having dd1 out the house most of the day.

Bloss we are having (dh's idea) IKEA high gloss red and white sparkly worktop (tis lush) and black flooring.I agree just black tiles will be better. We have a bench and table set in the kitchen atm but won't with the new kitchen. DH wants to use our dining room table more often so we will have a breakfast bar instead. The lo's can still eat at a little red Ikea set during the day. I will be working the week we are having the kitchen done so i will decamp to my friends(also a CM) for as long as necessary. There is a special offer at Ikea atm. For every £1000 we spend we will get £100 worth of Ikea vouchers to spend instore. So i will also be replacing lots of bits in my kitchen too

Better go dinner calling xx

Ceebee74 · 01/02/2009 20:24

Bloss about your mum - how frustrating for you (and her) that she hasn't been diagnosed! But at least they can try and treat/manage it now they know what it is. As for that MP3 player - I SO want one of those!! I didn't even realise such a thing existed but it sure would relieve the tedium of doing lengths!!

Spin oh good luck to Chilts for tomorrow - what a big boy! Can't wait to see the photos

All is well here - think we may be turning the corner with Josh as he is pretty much back to his usual sunny self and, although still in Sam's face most of the time, the aggression towards him seems to have stopped (touch wood). Sam slept for 11 hours last night from 8om to 7am ...long may it continue!

spin-fab pics, every single one of them. Chi looks such a big boy doesn't he. Gald he enjoyed it and hopefully tomorrow will be just as much fun.

We haven't much snow here so school is open as normal. Think I may text my friend to say I'm not helping at WW tonight as I don't fancy trekking out at night when it freezes.

Hope all OK and not too cold. Apart from spin and Impy of course and flick if she's jetted off somewhere???????

Feeling very nauseous but am really not going to complain.

Big wave!
