aah yes update on the insurance front! the underwriter has agreed to insure us, although for some reason (broker not givien her the right info) she thinks it is with all our contents, and is not having a hissy fit about insuring our contents in HK - apparently due to our claim history, which is all water damage related fro mthe state the previous owner left the place in so one bit sorted and really making our broker work for his money.

next issue is the mortgage.....

Still dry here (I don't count the swig of white wine from the bottle earlier ) And DH is dry too, a whole 2 nights, it's a miracle. And I'm babysitting for a friend tomorrow so no booze then either. AND had lunch with the girls today (all of us sans kids, it was so decadent) and not a one of us had even a spritzer. Shockingly, I have realised that even on 1 or 2 glasses of wine I have severe memory loss, can't remember what I have texted people, that kind of thing. Scary.....

So enjoying this kids at nursery/not working business. Making the most of it. Going to the cinema next Tues with a friend... am obviously telling DH I am hard at it looking for another job...

Had another good swim this morning - problem is it makes me so HUNGRY and I end up grazing for the rest of the day. Lunch out plus grazing plus made a Shepherds Pie for tea today of which I have had a HUGE portion, it's not doing the old waistline any favours...

H likes giving meuge cuddles while I am having a wee. This morning he was hugging me and said "Mummy I SQUEEZED your wee wee out for you!" Erm, yes thankyou angel, very helpful boy you are.

Toby is also guilty of the fierce independent streak going around. "I wanna do it BY MYSELF Mummy", everything, putting trousrs on, opening pots, cupboards, brushing his teeth.

Loads of really positive reviews of our holiday destination this week, so feeling reassured. So exctited, and have months yet. Paris sounds lovely Bead! So romantic.

Sorry about insurance thing Flick, what a pain!

Can you believe the chat at lunch was all Christmas parties and organisation? I love it though, Autumn and Winter are my absolute fave seasons.

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!
Mimi slept IN HER COT!!! from 8.30pm til 5am!!!! She then woke calling out, rather than screaming. Her nappy was completely saturated, so I changed it in her cot, took her for a wee (me) and asked if she wanted to go back to sleep. She did, so I took her in her room, but she said, I wanna go in Daddy and Mammy's bed, in her about-to-burst-into-tears voice, so I took her in, she fidgeted for ages, squeezed me tight a million times, then eventually fell asleep again til 8am!!!
I was so happy at 5am (despite the leakage) I was quite prepared to stay up from then, but when she said she wanted to go back to sleep, I couldn't object!!

And another dry night too, despite DH's teasing, pretending he had a bottle in the freezer for us, and then challenging me to stay off it even when BF comes to stay. No chance I said, You can, but me and her will be guzzling!!

Right, off to be mammy crocodile to my two baby crocodiles. Off work today as DH has to work...

Fantastic Annie! So pleased for you fingers crossed for tonight!!!

thefortbuilder · 13/08/2008 11:48

well done annie and bloss! I too stayed dry last night, although i was sorely tempted... out for a drink with an old girlfriend of mine who now lives in the states tomorrow late afternoon, but it's thursday and isn't that the weekened anyway????? o'h and dh out on closing deal drinks tonight so he'll be hammered when he rolls in at some ridiculous hour. and we're going out for sushi on friday night and the bookings not till 9pm so i guess a few glasses of wine will be consumede then.

what's with the weather as well? I'm in trousers and merinao wrap cardi! just last week it was so hot!!

well insurance kinda sorted, so we're getting there with these little obstacles.

and my new nokia n95 phone arrived today - jacob of course must HAVE IT and is not interested in my old one, whereas the plan was for him to have the old one... thwarted again by a 2yr old.

and on the dryness front for him - 2 accidents yesterday while mummy was on the phone, all poos on the toilet yesterday and today so far poos on the toilet and one accident as we were on our way to the toilet (mummy can't move like lightning!), so he's doing really well

A couple of friends and I have designated week commencing 25th August as Potty Training week. Anyone else want to join? My logic is Dh can help on the Monday, H can still be in nursery Tues Weds, I'll keep T home, and we'll blitz it....

RhinestoneCowgirl · 13/08/2008 13:56

Hey Annie - glad teh sleep is finally getting there. Go Mimi Sleep is off again here, as DS has Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (no relation to the cow/sheep thing apparently) and is being pretty horrible. Luckily my CM has said she will take him as normal tomorrow...

ceebee74 · 13/08/2008 16:22

Annie - yay for Mimi - fantastic, and long may it continue!!

Rhinestone - I hope DS is ok and not suffering too badly with it!

No surprises ladies but I have had a dry week aswell

Flick - everytime you refer to your DH by his real name, I get confused (as does Spin obviously ) and also a little - we have decided on a name for our new baby boy and it is Samuel Jake - which obviously means that all your 'boys' names are in my family aswell!!

ceebee74 · 13/08/2008 16:23

Bloss - forgot to say that 25 August is WAY too early for Josh for Potty Training week - the rate he is going it will definitely be next spring/summer

RhinestoneCowgirl · 13/08/2008 20:42

No Way on the potty training here too ceebee - but there's a lot of interest in the toilet. He loves to sit on his little wooden seat that DH made him, to pretend to wipe, to 'fluss' the loo etc, he even strains ffs.

But will he make a deposit?

No he will not...

kbaby · 13/08/2008 21:38

argghh just typed my message and ten clicked on page 2 and lost it all. Here goes again.

Ceebbee- why not wait and see what he is like nearer the time. DD wanted to walk everywhere which is why we didnt get a buggy and tbh DS preferes walking too.

hc- Happy hols, it always rains in wales though im afraid.

Bloss- Im much more a summer person, I love the clocks going forward and having all the windows open, smell of bar bq, not having to wear coats and generally have more go in me in the summer. Miss us out on the potty week DS just cant grasp wees

Well I opened my gob far too soon! Last night was a disaster. From about 11pm onwards, she kept waking and screaming, so DH gave her some calpol at one point. Still woke though. Let's see what tonight brings...

Stayed dry again too, despite DH's moaning and hankering (bless him, he had to work yesterday). Flick I'm with you that Thursday is the start of the weekend!
Bloss, very strong-willed of you to resist at your girlie lunch!

I won't be joining the PT week either. If I did join, it'd be for Joey!! He's slowly getting his wee situation, but still has to be asked frequently, and persuaded away from playing. Poos are all still Mimi/bear/Tigger's doing...
Though Mimi did do a big one yesterday on the toilet, she started straining and I asked her (expecting a no) and she said yes, so we legged it, and she had done a bit in her nappy, but still did LOADS in the loo and two wees! Still pot luck though. (Geddit?!)

So, house to clean, shopping to do, and yaaay drinking tonight!!

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 14/08/2008 08:19

Wonder how HC is getting on in that caravan...

HumphreysCorner · 14/08/2008 09:56

Not in the caravan yet girls-we go on Saturday so hectic here trying to load up in the rain. The forecast for the rest of the week and next.........rain!!!!! Can't wait

No potty training here until next year. Have bought some pull ups yesterday as they were on offer-yay!

There is a wi-fi connection on the site so hope to be in touch with normality at some point. Also Wetherspoons and MacDonalds have free wi-fi so all is not lost.

Have bought 3 bottles of BH which are safely in the fridge in the caravan but leaves very little room for food!

Love to all

HC

HC i'm assuming you are only going for 3 nights if you only have 3 bottles of BH???

Well 3yr old birthday party yesterday and i'm not dry... only a glass of champagne and a small glass of wine consumed but then had no will power to resist the NZ white that was calling me from the fridge!

and....continuing the insurance saga...i've just received revised direct debit instructions so i think they've altered the cover from now! Yet another mess

and samuel has def got the pox - finally a couple of proper blistered spots and confirmed by the doc this morning, so I'm sure he'll be covered by tomorrow

OP posts:
HumphreysCorner · 14/08/2008 20:28

Hey flick-when Sophie got the pox I hardly knew she had it so hope it is the same for Sam.

Off for 10 days so will be stocking up on BH at the local supermarket!

kbaby · 14/08/2008 21:15

Flik- Hope sam is ok with the pox. DD and DS didnt really get that bad with it so ill keep my fingers crossed for you.

Right must be off as DH is giving my snide remarks about being an internet widow.

TheGoddessBlossom · 14/08/2008 21:37

Hey KBabes get that too - there is a third person in our marriage apparently, such a drama queen. So not dry tonight! On glass number 4!!!!!

Had such a cool day today. I love my boys.

ceebee74 · 14/08/2008 21:50

Bloss - can you chuck some of your love my way as I am not so in love with Josh tonight ! He was a nightmare from the minute we got in the car at nursery until bathtime - everything was wrong!! He wanted to go to the shop (just cos we went there yesterday) - cue tantrum - , couldn't decide between a lollipop or an icepop - cue lots of tantrums, Mickey Mouse wasn't on telly - cue tantrum - I wouldn't let him have a cake (not that we have any anyway) - cue tantrum blah blah blah!! DH is away aswell so I was suffering it all myself!!

Anyway, he did perk up by bathtime and we managed a happy, giggly bathtime so I now love him again

Flick - hope Sam is ok but I am sure the younger they get it, the less traumatic it is for them.

TheGoddessBlossom · 14/08/2008 22:08

sending it your way CB. have spent the evening discussing fave films with Dh and looking them up online and watching the trailers and reminicsecing. (sp) "Reign Over Me" and "Man on Fire" are up there at the moment.

xxxxxxx

thefortbuilder · 15/08/2008 13:01

bloss sounds like you guys were having fun! i met up with an old girlfriend i used to work with and a bottle of NZ riesling and a bottle of NZ pinot and i then went home....just in time for bath and bed for the boys! bad mummy out drinking in the afternoon.

so not dry here either since wednesday... we were supposed to be going to nobu tonight but dh has pulled out and given the fowl mood he was in this morning probably no bad thing. although he has conceded to going out for dinner tomorrow night with some friends kind of him

few more spots out overnight but only 2 on his face, one in his hair and about 5 on his back and one on his face has been there for a couple of days now. how long does it take for all the spots to come out? he's doing pretty well with it to be honest - not much wingeing!
