spin i imagine jacob would be as bad as roshi with the pox - that's part of the reason we had him imm'd as well. and tbh if sam hadn't caught it we'd have had him done too!

jacob is doing very well with poos, but we are having the odd pee acccident - this morning at a cafe at the bandstand on the common - the usual false alarm trip to the toilet, then 5 mins later after him saying no ,cue massive and i mean massive pee! filled his right shoe up as well poor man!!!

not much else to report here - it's kind of nice weather warm in the sun but a bit chill out of it. quite autumnal which is a shame given it's mid august!

omigod my friend is pregnant with number 3. I am in awe, and not remotely jealous.

Top Day. Bird World with my parents this morning, back home for T's sleep,Tom and Jerry for H and a kip for mummy on the sofa (That's what happens when you have White Wine for tea the night before), then off to a lovely Hampshire park, with two friends and our 6 boys, then all back to one of their houses for tea and bath.

Am knackered.

HumphreysCorner · 15/08/2008 20:25

Bloss-sounds heavenly. There's you OK with your friend having No 3 and there's me very that my friend is having No 3 before me. Ho hum!

We are off to Wales in the morning and I am feeling crap with a sore throat. Joy!

Will try and find some wifi connection if not I will be back on the 26th.

Love to all

Hi all

Have paid £20 for a weeks WiFi-bargain! It rained all last night and this morning but is nice and dry now. DH has taken the terrible 2 for a walk with their bikes as my usual monthly migraine has arrived-grrrhhh!!!

Lol at the haircut spin but it will grow very quickly.

Hope all OK

I am bored bored bored!!
Dh hates doing anything family like unless it involves the cinema and has to be dragged kicking and screaming to do stuff, so much better when hes in work and we can just go and do our own thing. So this weekend we have been to the optitians and had dinner over my mums, dont think I can contain my excitement, if im lucky next weekend I may get a trip to ikea!
Bloss your days out sound like fun.

thefortbuilder · 18/08/2008 09:15

ooh ikea kbaby you lucky thing - i imagine the dc's fine that as fun as you do

well dh has done my f*ing head in this weekend. we have got through the whole week with jacob only having one or two accidents a day, or only in the evening when it's the last hour before bed and he's shattered. so it comes to the weekend and dh decides because jacob plays up with him about putting pants on / getting dressed in general that if we go out jacob is to wear pull ups. cue massive argument about it on friday night as also dh has an irrational hatred of public loos - will not use them unless his bladder is about to explode (thanks MIL for that one). so he refuses to take jacob into public loos if i don't do it, even though i say take wipes with you and wipe the toilet down blah blah blah i could be talking to myself for all the difference it will make.

so this morning we have had 3 accidents with jacob because he is completely confused about what he is wearing. we are visiting my parents next weekend and that was the next get out clause for dh - they have carpet, what if he pees on it. well plenty of other people have carpet and manage to toilet train their kids ok.

man i am so with him right now i could explode

Flick we had a similar thing when I was training H - got to the weekend when DH was to take him shopping and he said he'd put him in a nappy, and I told him he absolutely bloody was not, what would have been the point of the whole past week etc, he would take the potty out with him like I had been and just deal with it. Do they think we enjoy the constant cleaning up and nagging/reminding? Anyway he sulkily agreed but wasn't happy about it.

Spin at the haircut! Naughty C! It will grow....

Good weekend, had a nice dinner out at a friend's house Saturday night, but it was a late one and lots of wine so very tired all day yesterday. Slept so deeply last night I didn't even hear H get up into bed with me about 6.45 this morning, and woke up with him wrapped around me like a limpet being so quiet and stll bless his dear little heart. Luckily I had my angel of a MIL with me all day yesterday and she came swimming with the boys with me, she really enjoyed it, and then stayed all day doiing little things like hanging out washing, getting it in again, doing the veg for our roasat, changing Toby's nappy, and she baby sat the night before for us. I amso lucky to have her, especially as my mum is basically on another planet these days.

HC have a great week, hope you get some decent weather.

KBaby, I do really enjoy my days out with my boys, we do loads, and it is ast always easier without DH!!!

Hi Girls - sorry long time no post, don't know what's up with me at the mo, think I must be taking the new lifestyle and holiday spirit a little to far!! Being extreeeemly lazy and apathetic, I'm putting it down to a reaction against a completely hectic pregnancy and first 18 months of Emma's life (well that's my excuse anyway ) DH says the holiday is now over and we need to start applying ourselves to serious matters like finding work, and he's completely right of course, boo.

Well, having said that there are 4 (count 'em) toddler groups to attend this week, yay, We went to the Garlic Festival yesterday which was fab, loads to see and do (apart from eat and purchase garlic-related products of course).

Emma had a 2 year check last week, she's doing fine weight-wise, bang on 50th centile, but is now short apparently, on 2nd centile for height Not worried though. She did well with her 'tasks' (building towers with bricks, following commands etc)

Now thoroughly confused about potty training - HV said advice now is to wait till 2.4 years, then go completely cold turkey on nappies (day and night). Aaaaaargh, sounds like a nightmare. Am quite glad of an excuse to put it off though - we occasionally let her run around in just knickers in the garden, but she keeps (of course) going into the house for a pee on the carpet. She has a potty and knows what it's for, but gets very nervous when you strip her to sit on it, so probably best to leave it for a bit.

Anyway now I'm back in teh posting saddle (so to speak) I'll catch up on posts - hi to everyone, hope it's not too windy where you are (bloody windy here) xxx

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
MIMI SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT IN HER COT!!!!!

She woke once, at 2.45am, I went in, she drank a little tiny bit of water-milk, I changed her nappy, she stroked my hair, cuddled Tigger and WENT BACK TO SLEEP UNTIL 7AM!!!. I woke to hear her and Joey chattering to each other, discussing how they could get her out of the cot! 'Maybe I can help you Mimi'...

I am soooooo happy!

This morning, I was getting a shower, and she wanted to come in with me, so we had a shower together!!! Sooooooooooo funny.

We've had a lovely weekend, my bestest friend was here and we had such a laugh talking of olden days...
And she has converted me to red wine, between us we drank several bottles of Merlot. Which, I have discovered, does not give me a hangover...

DH and Joey are very poorly today though, DH has man-flu, and Joey is all quiet and lethargic, so I guess he has it too. Mimi is looking after them both while I'm at work. It seems like she has grown into a little lady overnight!!

Pixel I was holding my breath there reading your post, I thought you were announcing you were pg!!! LOL at your 'holiday' - nine months of pregnancy, 2 years of baby!!

Bloss your w/e sounds like fun too, bless H and his cuddleyness!! Your MIL sounds like an angel. Hope your mum is ok though.

HC, sorry to hear of the migraine again. but hope it stays sunny for you.

Spin at Roshi's haircut! Naughty Chili!! My two are always 'cutting' things with their fingers, so we bought them some scissors, but they can't quite get the hang of them. Maybe it's time to retract the scissors...

Off the booze again now til the weekend again... place your bets!!

Best be off.

thefortbuilder · 18/08/2008 11:04

annie 3 things to say to you!

WELL DONE MIMI!!!!
New Zealand central otago pinot does not give hangovers
I'll be ttrying to stay dry till till the weekend with you

bloss the problem is that jacob will not sit on a potty - he is a toilet boy or that's it! I called my mum and told her we are toilet training and jacob would be in cotton pants all weekend and she said "and?" so pleased that she is not being her usual high maintenance self about the carpets etc though.

OP posts:
TheGoddessBlossom · 18/08/2008 11:08

oh big Congratulations Annie that is wonderful news. So pleased for you all. Sorry to hear about poorly men. I am going to dry now too, till at least Thursday. Cannot seem to do till Friday, something about Thursday nights.... Although doing Paultons Park again this Friday and it would be nice to go without a hangover for a change.

Thanks for thoughts of my Mum. The contrast between her and my MIL is like different constellations, and not just with the way they are with the kids. I think my mum is clinically depressed. Withdrawn, quiet, tearful, worried, stressed, unable to drive without having a scrape of some kind, irritatingly nervous of my dad (who has always been hard work but she never used to be this bad with him). On the phone forget it - I phone up and she answers, Hello? Mum it's Jen. Yes? I mean, WTF? Why can't she say, oh hi Jen, how are you?, like she used to, and like normal people would? Am frustrated and upset about it, and have no ideas about how to do anything about it.

Oh well.

Guess what ladies-'tis peeing it down with rain again! Going swimming at 3pm so will get wet anyway. Head still thumping.

Bloss-would break me to see my mum like you describe. How for everyone concerned.

Annie-sounding good in the sleep department. Emma and Sophie are a nightmare in their bunks in the caravan so not much sleep for moi.

Better get on.

bloss i really feel for you my mum is very similar to how you describe yours but not the same level i don't think. will she get any help (sorry that sounds really patronising but ykwim)?

HC - raining again????? you poor thing! and with a thumping head - the last thing i imagine you want is to be cooped up in a caravan...

spin no he's too small to stand up yet and besides he just lurves sitting down on the toilet - knowing my luck he'd start standing when he needs to do a poo! he heralds every poo with a "SPLASH" yelled out!

well we all just had big naps here - 2 hours! jacob had been cutting his down but it's increased over the last few weeks and he needs waking up after that time! i'm sure he'd sleep all afternoon if he could...

OP posts:
AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 19/08/2008 10:56

Two nights in a row!!! Ta -daaah! She woke twice though, once for a few minutes, the second time for about 20 minutes of screaming, but I stayed calm, I did, and with a cuddle and some milk she went back IN HER COT!
Up at 6am though.

Bloss, so sorry to hear about your mum. It is hard when they start getting a bit dotty. Wishing you lots of hugs for her.

HC, hope you are getting some kip in that 'van!! The girls must be so excited! Hope the rain holds off today.

Spin at Roshi's hair!! But at her new look! How cool is she!

Flick, Bloss, let you both down last night, sorry! There was an open bottle of white left from the weekend, so it had to be finished. You know how they go off. To tell the truth I didn't enjoy it that much, I was thinking of the lovely Merlot. And also felt a tad guilty. Will stay off it til Friday now though.

We've also skipped the potty and gone straight to the toilet, with a little seat with handles and a blue step. Of course Mimi wants a pink step... Not that it makes any difference, they still both just go in their pants...

Rightio, have a good day all. Annie x

thefortbuilder · 19/08/2008 11:12

annie that's great about the sleep - jacob must have taken up mimi's mantle and came down to us at 1030 last night.....

but no pull ups today (told dh pretty much to stuff it!) and only one accident first thing when jacob was talking to dh in the shower - running water and all that!

OP posts:
ceebee74 · 19/08/2008 13:21

Annie - yay for Mimi - that is great. Fingers crossed it continues

Spin - at C but you can't really tell that much and the hat does look very cool and cute!! Did C get a huge telling-off??

Bloss - really sorry about your mum - it is probably made worse by the contrast with your MIL but I guess you just have to cope with it however best you can.

Flick - Jacob is doing so well with his potty training - I bet you are chuffed. Agree that you should just tell DH to stuff it - men are so pathetic sometimes aren't they as they would do anything for an easy life!!

HC - sorry about the constant raining - hope you are still managing to have a good holiday anyway and the Blossom Hill tastes fine!

Pixel - sorry the 'holiday' is coming to an end - mine is due to start in about 7 weeks I also thought you were going to make an 'announcement' aswell - must have been something about the way you started your post

Have managed to sort out my double buggy dilemma! A colleague wanted to get rid of her P&T buggy, complete with doubles kit, raincover and carrycot as she is moving house - so I have bought the lot for £150 which is what we were looking to spend on a cheap double buggy anyway so Josh and baby can travel to nursery in style now

PixelHerder · 19/08/2008 14:45

Ceebee ? yay re the buggy, that sounds like a great deal! I was going to suggest that you look for a second hand P&T as well (pram saddo that I am)

Annie ? yay to Mimi and her cot!! (and a subversive yay to the white wine, but you know what I'm like, there are no wagons rolling up anywhere near my road )

HC ? sending you some sunny vibes

Bloss ? sorry to hear about your mum, must be very difficult Does she live far away?

Spin ? love the pic for posterity, Chili won't hear the end of this one will he, not even in years to come! R looks v cool with her new be-hatted stylee though.

Flick ? lol re shouting 'splash' ? doesn't sound like he has any fear or embarrassment issues around the loo

Hi to everyone else, sorry not got very far back with posts, I'm going to try and keep up because I always do want to chat to everyone but end up putting it off because I can't do it all at once, and the longer you put it off the more posts there are, etc etc...

Been to singing group today, Emma looked absolutely shocked by the experience, bless her. She just freezes when confronted by a room full of faces and then buries her face in my legs. Guess I'll just have to keep taking her and hope she gets used to it. You'd think with having gone to nursery from a young age she'd be used to other people, but maybe that's just the way she is.

lol at my 'announcement', reading it back iswym! No ? not pg yet but maybe one day, we'll see...

Well better get on, DH on the MN warpath ? am supposed to be doing something useful as Emma is at MIL's. Have good afternoons all xxx
