Well done Tash !!! That's a fantastic achievement and you really deserve to me immensely proud of yourself.

Now, have posted in chat but thought I'd ask you guys too. Any ideas for entertaining a 12 year old girl for the weekend ?? What's "in" at the moment ?? Just haven't a clue what to suggest...

tasha22 · 08/08/2008 17:01

TT- stomp about, darken your eyes down and just look really miserable (my sis is 13) sorry no help.

thanks everyone

tasha22 · 08/08/2008 17:05

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/08/2008 11:20

Hi all, sorry I've been awol- Thanks for J's birthday messages!

Lizzie, congratulations!

Meandmyjoe, Josephs thomas birthday cake sounds awesome, can't beleieve he's in size 6 shoes, wow!

Hey Annie75, great to hear from you! Glad things are easier for you and Nell now the colic is over.

Conker, hope you have a nice weekend away!

Uki hope LL enjoyed his teddy bear picnic, lovely idea.

Pink, glad you're doing ok with your pnd- my ad's are kicking in slowly and I feel a lot more stable. Let us know what the wheelybug is like, the bee one is very cute.

Gill, how's your mum doing with her slimming world now? has she lost much? glad you and dh got some time to yourselves, it's a sanity saver!

tasha, well done on the good mark on your assignment! our stairs are incredibly steep and James really would break something if we let him anywhere near them, but he has a little practise in relatives houses.

Sagpuss, any sign of af yet, or will you do a test?

James climbing all over the furniture and falling off everything right now, it's driving me bananas. He's got a mini black eye from slipping and headbutting the corner of the tv- typical that he does that ready for his birthday photos.

I looked up to find him standing on the windowledge yesterday, yanking on the net curtain! There was a biddy outside, stood gawping disapprovingly at this fat toddler belly pressed up against the glass. Can't leave him alone in the livingroom any more, had to set up the travel cot again downstairs- he doesn't much like it!

Going over to my sisters for James's birthday tea party later, taking the enormous igglepiggle cake over, and some loosely wrapped presents for him to maul.

Then tomorrow we're off to see mil til tuesday (joy) I suspect she may send us home with something enormous like a bouncy castle or climbing frame for James so I'll be busy packing and doing madcap emergency handwashing tonight, no doubt.

btw Knickers, you forgot to say what date your lo was born, in the list.

Anyway, off to give my boy a birthday snuggle! Hope everyone has a nice weekend, bye for now xxx

Just realised this makes no sense:

"I suspect she may send us home with something enormous like a bouncy castle or climbing frame for James so I'll be busy packing and doing madcap emergency handwashing tonight, no doubt." lol

Got distracted halfway! Meant to say that she was boasting that her other grandkids were walking/iceskating/walking the tightrope at one, so she'd bought them a climbing frame etc for their first birthday. That was in no way related to the amount of emergency washing I'll have to do this evening.

Yes james that was mine and dh face times 100.

And that sentence made perfect sense to me .

Have fun at MIL's.

meandmyjoe · 09/08/2008 13:04

Happy Birthday James!!! Lol to the fat toddler comment! I often wonder what passers by would think if they could see Joe pressed up against the window banging and smacking the glass when his dad goes to work but thankfully we have a long driveway so nosy busy bodies can't see in the house!

Well done on the assignment Tasha! You should be very proud of yourself. I'd get dp to treat you to a lovely meal out and a night off!

Right got to go give Joseph his lunch. x

meandmyjoe · 09/08/2008 13:07

PS. Why the hell am I so broody at the minute? I dunno whats come over me. I was even looking at new prams and moses baskets in Toys r us! . I've only just sold Joe's old baby stuff! What's wrong with me? Please tell me this will pass!

meandmyjoe- its prob cause our newborns are turning 1 still hard to believe how fast the last year has gone. im not sure it passes as have always given in to the broodiness. lol.

jjames lol at your mil and james at the window

ds2 has hand foot and mouth his wee mouth looks so sore. my friends wee one rateit first and now he does hopefully the rest of them dont get it.

went to BandQ and am going to decorate my living-room tonight.

i wish dp would take me out for a meal but his mind doesnt work that way lol

GillL · 09/08/2008 20:38

Happy birthday Struan, Heather and James. Hope they had nice parties.

Ds is climbing the stairs now too. I used to be able to go upstairs without worrying but now I have to get dd to watch him and zoom up to do what I need to do as quickly as possible. I asked dh to get another stair gate but he said they're £60 and we can't afford it (our door frames are really narrow and we have to get adjustable gates and set them as small as they go). I told him we have to do something but he just said he'll think about it

Poor Evie. Hope AF turns up soon shrinking. I had the same panic a week or so ago so I know how you're feeling.

Well done on your assignment score tasha - that's brilliant. Hope ds2 is better soon and not suffering too much.

James - mum is doing really well at SW, thanks for asking. I don't know exactly how much she's lost but it's got to be getting on for 2 stone. She's gone down 2 dress sizes and is looking great. She said she's not even craving chocolate/cakes etc like she has done in past diets so hopefully this time she'll be able to keep it off.

On a sad note, dh found out today that his grandad only has 48 hours to live He's not been well for years but has been living life as best he can and always has a smile on his face. He suddenly took a turn for the worse a few days ago. I was feeling quite tearful earlier but dh was doing his usual thing and being more concerned for how I'm feeling. He was the same when his mum and grandma died. He will have lost 3 family members in 4 years

Ceolas · 09/08/2008 23:23

I haven't managed to keep up with any of the postnatal threads but just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a very happy 1st birthday!

Anna will be 1 on 30th August and looks ready to take her first steps any day now

shrinkingsagpuss · 10/08/2008 07:40

not pg !!!!!!! few. never been so relieved!! must go back on pill.

My2 · 10/08/2008 10:24

hi all

happy birthday babies!

my poor wee soul ended up in hospital on her birthday (same one she was born in). she's nearly back to normal now thankfully. the staff were great and even made her a card and got her a pressie. she wasn't well from monday. they think it was viral illness with tonsillitis and queried a uti - anyone ever tried getting a urine sample from a 1 year old - it's not easy.

lizziemum - congratulations

tasha - well done on your assignment

must go and get on - hope everyone is well
