aprilitisthen · 18/08/2008 12:05

well it wasnt james that was next in the pg line - it was me - but am not going public on mn until we've at least told a few people in rl - as some rl people i know also use mn.

loler · 18/08/2008 12:18

Oh - have just popped in. Have I missed something? Do I need to guess who April is? How exciting!

I've got really bad cramps today - think it must be my af - first one, not bad having nearly 2 years off! To me it is definately the best reason in the world to bf!

Happy Bday - Evie

GillL · 18/08/2008 12:23

Back at work today I started feeling like I wanted to stay home full time after having 2 weeks off but I know I would change my mind very soon after giving up work - not that it's an option anyway. I still aim to work part time so we'll see how money is after we've had dc3 (whenever that may be).

Thanks Lizzie - I think it's down to constipation. Someone suggested that some bits of poo are being pushed out because it's getting compacted (sorry for TMI) and she has no control over it. She's only recently started to eat fruit and veg regularly. She ate a pear for the first time on Saturday!! There's no problem with veg now but I'm going to try to get her to eat a different fruit each day to keep her interested. It helps that ds will eat anything you put in front of him so he won't be a problem in that department. Over the weekend I got them to eat the same dinner at the same time. I had to get ds to eat later and dd earlier but it seemed to work.

Hi aprilitisthen. I look forward to your announcement when you're ready to reveal yourself!

tasha22 · 18/08/2008 13:43

sorry havent been able to keep up.

Gill so sorry about your dps grandad, hope everyone is keeping well.

razzle dazzle is stil pg.

have voice mail from fostering agency saying to contact them but no money in phone.

hmm think thats it oh ds1 cut his hair theres big chunks out of it and the HFM seems to have all cleared up.

hope everyone is keeping well

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2008 14:52

omg april I think I know who you are (but don't worry I won't give it away whether I'm right or wrong!) big congrats! any idea how far gone you are or is it mega early? aaw big hugs anyway! How many's that now? knickers, TT, lizzie, april... was there anyone else?

Happy birthday for evie today, sagpuss!!

loler I'm so at you having no AF for two years! Mine seems to be constantly late atm (a week late again now but no chance of pg) dunno what's going on, can AD's affect your cycle?

Gill, MN can be immensely helpful sometimes and a big pile of shit at other times- pardon the pun! Certain posters love to think the worst of people- we all know you're a great mum, don't take any notice. If it IS that she's a bit impacted, have you thought about asking the doc for a stool softener in case the impacted stuff may be too hard to pass?

tasha, oh no about ds1 cutting his hair - nightmare! the netmums meet-a-mum thing is good isn't it? I've met a few mums through it.

Well, I left J playing on the floor, went to the loo and mid-wee heard a crash and a scream, came racing in to find he'd scrambled up on the top of the sofa and fallen off, scraping his face down the fireguard and landing headfirst on his plastic farmhouse. So he's now got a swollen red graze the size of a thumb down his face and a big bump too. He was ever so upset but it hasn't stopped him climbing!

Congrates 'aprilitisthen'.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2008 14:55

How are you doing, lizzie?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2008 15:17

OI KNICKERS Just noticed on another thread offering ffp baby boys clothes you said you could do with some sleepsuits and stuff- I've got loads of boys bits if you need some for the price of postage?

OP posts:
GillL · 18/08/2008 16:05

Thanks Tasha. We're all fine. Fil is holding up well as is dh. Dh's aunt and her eldest daughter are both heartbroken (as you can imagine). We'll have to make much more of an effort to see his nan more often.

Good news about the netmums meet up. Ds shows no sign of first steps yet. Dd walked at 13 months but she was much more mobile from an earlier age. It took her 4 or 5 months from cruising the furniture to walking unaided. I don't expect ds to walk for a few months yet. Glad the hfm has gone.

Ouch James. I bet that hurt. Fortunately ds isn't climbing on the sofa yet. I don't think I could take that kind of stress atm

Thanks James. It's annoying because it puts me off posting and then I don't get the benefit of advice from the helpful posters. We've got Califig for dd which normally does the trick. I'm hoping a big increase in fruit is going to sort her out though.

BTW James - I've posted in the weaning section about ideas for freezing finger foods in batches for ds' main savoury meals. Have you got any thoughts?

Knickers I'll cat you about the baby clothes but I'll have to sort them out first as they're packed up. Do you want a bit of a mix of newborn/0-3months stuff? I'll blame you if rooting through tiny vests and bootees makes me broody though, woman!!

Gill, freezing finger foods. Hmm, well I don't do much of that really, as J tends to eat what we eat, and we eat a lot of pasta/rice/meat and two veg type meals. I froze a chunky beef casserole once which he ate as fingerfood with chunks of bread to soak up the sauce.

And I guess you could make your own mini low-salt baby lasagnes/canneloni/pasta bakes in small dishes to freeze then cook and cut into chunks for him. Fish pie could work too (or an adaptation- chunks of fish, potato and broccoli in a cheese sauce?) you could make your own fishfingers or chicken "nuggets" too but I don't really think it's worth it, better to just poach some unbreaded white fish fillet or bake a chicken breast.

So, in conclusion: I have no idea.

Tasha, good luck for the college interview.

April, congrats, you cheeky little minx keeping us all guessing! Mmmm I wonder, are we allowed to play a game like cludo or guess who in order to find out your identity? If so I get to ask the first question! though, I'm still envious of tasha's guinea pig being pregnant! DH says he wants another child but would like to wait a bit, which is sensible cos only 2 months ago, I swore Joseph would be an only child so I don't want to rush into it.

Anyway, Gill still thinking of your family, hope they are coping as best as they can .

Things here are good but I think Joe is getting another tooth cos he's been as mardy as his arse all day and throwing tantrums over everything, he's still a little darling compared to how he used to be though so I mustn't complain.

Poor James, hope he hasn't hurt himself too much! Joe is walking now but is so bloody clumsy it's ridicullous. He was in the bedroom with me yesterday as I was putting clothes away and he walked straight into my chest of drawers and fell backwards, hit his head on the bed post. He sobbed! It hasn't left a bruise but it must have hurt, deffinitely shocked him. He never seems to walk, has anyone else found that their babies RUN all the time?? He can't do anything carefully or slowly, he runs and stumbles all the time .

Right off for a glass of chepa red wine with dh.

x

PS April, in true 'guess who' style, Do you wear glasses??

meandmyjoe · 18/08/2008 21:02

sorry, cheap red wine, as you can tell I've already had one glass!

lizziemun · 18/08/2008 21:37

james

I fine, but soooooooooooo tired i could fall asleep on a clothes line . I am so lucky in that i have never had morning sickness with any of my pregancies (except for the one i lost).

meandmyjoe

Lexie thinks she can run now she has been walking for a week . I'm thinking about getting her a crash helmet as she has headbutted the coffee table i don't no how many times but it always comes as a great shock to her that it hurts.

As for climbing she has no fear. she climbs on anything i found her today standing on her ride on lion just laughing at me.

I probaly won't post much for the next 2 weeks as dh is on holiday, oh joy .

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/08/2008 21:48

Ooh, meand myjoe I'm of your wine, I've got none. Might make some cheese on toast and watch The Dark Knight shortly though, that's about as extravagent as I get at the moment, since I discovered Proper Hangovers!

Ooh, these teeth are more trouble than they're worth aren't they? J's top tooth has cut now so his sleep has settled down again, but the other tooth is imminent so wouldn't be surprised if his routine goes tits-up in a week or so again. No fun for them, is it, thank god for calpol night, it's bloody brilliant stuff.

So glad James is taking his time to get used to walking (still only taking an unassisted step once in a while, seems in no rush) because I know he'll be running as soon as he starts. He's such a typical boy, he bashes and crashes and yanks and bulldozes his way through things all day long. Once he can run too he'll be a nightmare!

oops x posts lizzie, oh god the tiredness in the beginning and the end of pg is so horrendous. There's about two weeks in the middle when you aren't too big to be comfortable and the placenta has kicked in properly when you think "hey, this isn't too bad, I feel great!" but the rest of it is knackering! Must be extra knackering running after two lo's as well, don't know how you do it! Make sure you get some rest while dp is off work, grab it where you can! Glad you aren't suffering with ms, at least.

Oh, don't talk to me about climbing babies. I find him teetering on the very edge of the sofa (backwards, naturally) looking round at me so I can see how incredibly clever he is.

oh, i think i know who it is now too hopefully know soon if im right? do you have a moustache?

gill good to hear everyone is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. thinking of you all x

lo is always falling over, he grabs onto anything without a thought on how hes getting down so ends up throwing himself backwards and smacking his head off the floor

meandmyjoe- i think we are being infected by this thread i mentioned to dp how broody ive been feeling and he finished my sentence with 'did a bomb just go off?' he said we'd talk about it in a couple of years.

loler- good to see you back i didnt have af for 2 years there either as i got pg before it came back after having ds2...confused? lol still havent really got back into the flow of it as its practically gone again with the coil.

happy birthday to evie. hope everything went well today

meandmyjoe · 19/08/2008 06:27

Knickers, I can swear hand on heart it's not me who's pg! Or at least I bloody hope it's not after the amount of wine I consumed last night! I still have no clue who it is tho! Am I just dumb??? How did you guess who it was? I'm stumped.

meandmyjoe · 19/08/2008 06:31

lol tasha and the mustache, that was going to be my next question!

loler · 19/08/2008 09:04

I'm guessing that it's the regular that's gone quiet.

Tasha - have you got the mirena coil? What's it like? Trying to talk dh into being responsible but he gets all jittery about it, so looks like it might be down to me. Currently using the completely knackered/child in bed approach. How did the interview go?
