Hey Annie !! how's your first year of married life been treating you ??

A year gone by in the blink of an eye eh? Can't believe number two's nearly half cooked.

How've you been feeling Pink ?

conkertree · 06/08/2008 13:47

hi folks just a quick hello and happy birthday to all the babies, particularly joseph yesterday, and heather and connie tomorrow.

We had planned to go to palacerigg country park for a picnic, but having to rethink given the weather. never mind - a few party games at home with his cousins will be fun too.

off to my parents on friday for a weekend with all the cousins there - will be chaotic but fun hopefully.

will catch up next week.

tasha22 · 06/08/2008 17:03

hey had the visit from fostering agency today it went really well so shes going to put allthe information she got forward to her boss and then go from there

meandmyjoe · 06/08/2008 20:21

Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes to Joseph. He loved his little party on Saturday and we had a gorgeous day at the farm yesterday. Joseph absolutely loved it, he grinned and pointed at all the animals and even got to stoke a goat!

It was a perfect day and a lovely thing to remember for his first birthday. The weather was warm and dry too. When we got back, we took him to clarks to get his first pair of shoes since he's toddling a bit now but only got him the cruising shoes not the proper walkers as they seem a bit thick and heavy for him. He loves wandering around in them anyway and he looks so grown up in them! He's got size 6 feet already though so he really does look a lot older than he is when he's toddling! He's huge!

Congratulations on the meeting Tahs, sounds like things are moving along nicely with the fostering. Good luck, I really hope it all works out, you'll be amazing.

Anyway, off for a long bath.

Take care all and happy birthday again to all the babies!

meandmyjoe · 06/08/2008 20:22

Tasha, not Tahs????! No idea what came over my fingers!

HI ALL

Apologies for missing the first birthdays of the month.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to George Nell Struan Heather JB James James and Jacob for now.
and also to anyone who may be lurking that i've missed

We have been terribly slack here only just sent out a couple of invites we will just have a small party/teddy bear picnic for LL, hope the weather is nice. the teddy bear idea was inspired by his older brother who said he thought LL should have a chocolate teddy bear cake

lizzie CONGRAT'S i'm sure you will start to feel leass shocked soon the third are always an accident from what people say.
I can't believe there are now 3 pg ladies on here oh my goodness.

tasha22 · 07/08/2008 08:35

so sorry suffereing today but self inflicted. the bit were i wrote something like 'if i can get my name and password in right' is because i couldnt get my mn username right prob mn's way of saying get out! lol hope everyone is well and birthday arrangements are all going well.

meandmyjoe · 07/08/2008 09:09

Congratulations lizziemum! Fab news for you (when it sinks in!). 3 pregnant ladies on this thread, woah, you guys must love babies! I hated the baby stage but love the toddler stage. I'd hate for ds to be an only child but I really don't want to go through the baby bit again! Unless I could guarentee a nice placid one ie, not another Joseph! He was the grumpiestt, whingiest grot bag til he could crawl! He's adorable now though so it was all worth it. Perhaps I may consider another in a year or 2 (never thought I'd say that!). All these pregnancies on here are making me broody!

Pinkranger · 07/08/2008 09:12

Lizzie - Congratulations!!!! Im sure you will get your head round it soon! - im pleased to say that i will never be there again as dh snip results came back and he is SPERM FREE!!!!! I love my children so much but really dont want no more!

Glad everyone seems well, and Happy Birthdays to all those how have had their birthdays and them that are fast approaching!
We will be having a BBQ ( fingers x for weather) tate is not until the 27th, we have about 20 Adults/ 10 children, just family and close friends but we always have these get together in pinks house so everyone knows each other, kids are all friends and once lo are in bed the Adults carry on and we all get very competitive (drunkenly ) on the Wii so should be good fun! We have brought him a wheelybug for his birthday ( the bee one) very cute and then some books and puzzles that will be fine, also get him some stuff for winter as he nothing yet!

TT - how the devil are you???? Cant belilive that you are 1/2 way through number 2, how time flys!!!

I am well, still taking my AD for the PND but doing alot better on them, dh job is relocating and until we moved next year i will be at home for 3 days/nights on my own and still working so i need them to see me through but going to start weaning off them after the new year ( hopefully - do thinks that should be about right)

Now i have waffled on for ages.............. How is everyone else!!!

tasha22 · 07/08/2008 09:45

meandmyjoe- i hate baby stage and im currently starting to hate toddler stage as ds2 is fully into tantrum stage.

Pinkranger · 07/08/2008 11:18

Hey look what we aere doing this time last Year!! www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2290&threadid=364619#7462437

GillL · 07/08/2008 11:40

Hello. Congratulations lizzie. I know so many women who are pg now. Two from my antenatal classes with dd are both pg and one of them has a baby 3 months younger than ds! I am feeling v. broody and but it's not the right time so I will just have to restrain myself

Had a child free evening yesterday. Dd stayed at pil's as they are taking her out to the coast today. They've got her tonight too Ds stayed at mum's last night. She had to take him to slimming world with her but he was very good despite still having a bit of a temperature. I think that was only the second time we've been out on our own since ds was born. We went to see the new Batman movie which is really good and had dinner in Nandos. Then we had to drive home through the thunderstorm.

Apparently dd was scared of the thunder. Pil told her it was the honey monster looking for his sugar puffs to which she replied 'Why can't he just go to Sainsbury's?' (that's my girl!)

Glad the visit went well tasha. Hope you get some good news soon.

meandmyjoe - Bloody hell! Size 6! I think I said this the other day but my 3 year old is in a size 6. My niece didn't walk til she was about 18 months and she was only a size 3. Sil had a hell of a time trying to find her proper walking shoes.

tasha22 · 07/08/2008 17:25

lo has started climbing the stairs!!!

meandmyjoe · 07/08/2008 18:59

Aww pinkranger, it was lovely looking back at that thread you linked, even though I wasn't on it, I had a good nosey at what you were all up to. lol!

Seriously though, it seems so strange to think that just a year ago, we all felt like like beached whales, excitedly waiting to meet our babies and now they are growing into little children. I feel quite emotional really! It has deffinitely been quite a journey.

Just so glad I stumbled on this website and found you all! lol

Hope you are all well.

meandmyjoe · 07/08/2008 19:02

Well done to ds3 on climbing the stairs tasha! The little monkey will be doing it all the time now!

Joseph had an obsession with the bottom step (our stair gate can only fit on the second step as the bannister and stairs turn a corner) and I was constantly scooping him off the floor when he toppled off! He has since learned to get off it safely now though but the more I tried to keep him away from it, the more his obsession grew!

tasha22 · 07/08/2008 19:31

meandmyjoe-i know its quite sad how quickly the first year goes. we wish they were eating, we wish they were babbling, we wish they were sitting, crawling, standing, walking, talking and then we wish they were little newborns again lol.

i have 3 stair gates but really need another 3 with the amount of stairs i have but they are so bloody expensive. then theres the problem of getting ds1 to close them after him lol.

off to do some house work and put ds2 back to bed for the 20th time in 5 min!

shrinkingsagpuss · 07/08/2008 19:55

Evie fell down the stairs today! usua;lly shlimits herself to only falling down 3, at the top, onto a little landing, but today it was at least 5. she can go up and down, but she must have been looking at Billy. oops. never had a stairgate, and don't plan on one now, but it does worry me the pace she sets going up!

Pink - awwwwwww, thanks for posting the link. reminds me how bloody glad i am NOT to be PG - that said, my period is late. I used to have a 35 day cycle. since having Evie it has become 28 days exactly - and I am now 4 days late....... I don't even want to think about it. I am just praying that all my stress at work has made me late....

tasha22 · 08/08/2008 09:19

wooooooooooooo woooooooooooooooo i got 81% in my assignment!!!!

shrinking its terrible i cant even count the amount mine vave fallen down the stairs. awk bless her it must have scared the life out of her.

shrinkingsagpuss · 08/08/2008 09:34

well done tasha!!
I can't believe you find time to study with 3 lo!!! Well done. I think actually, having 3 lo makes that kind of grade even better.

Pinkranger · 08/08/2008 11:08

well done tash!!!
