IShaggedInVictorianSqualor · 21/08/2008 08:56

Yes I want another and yes I'll be gong for a VBA3C, and unless there is a reason baby needs to come out right away I will not be going for a CS, especially after my 10lb 3oz baby that had placental issues

SuzeM · 21/08/2008 10:36

Hi Sal, in 7 years I'll be 43 (eeek) so I'd better be sure!

Scorpio, I ordered beech with red too. I think www.backinaction.co.uk have the best prices. I'm looking forward to having dd sit up beside us at the table, I think she'll like it.

Denny, happy 2nd birthday to your son.

Is anyone else still waiting to receive their child benefit? I sent in the application 7 weeks ago. I phoned yesterday and they said they received my application and will backdate it, but there will be a delay.

SalLikesCoffee · 21/08/2008 11:24

Oh well, if you guys are ordering your high chairs now I'm going to do the same! [stamps feet, throws tantrum]

Suze, I don't know much about child benefit, only know that we don't qualify (we only get our passports next year, so don't qualify for any benefits).

Denny, happy birthday to your ds!

Dh said last night now that we have R he only realises how much he loves children, and we can have as many as I want. hahahaha, he obviously doesn't realise how broody all your baby photos makes me...

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 12:11

lol @ your dh, Sal he may change his mind after 3 or 4.....

Suze - i got my CB more or less straight away with Mimi, but i think that is because i have the existing claim already iyswim. First time took a month or two.

VS - i sincerely hope you get a VB one day; i can see how important it is to you. I will be BF-ing the next one, for sure!! and hopefully birthing at home again...

And maybe i will be taking dc4 to cyprus with me.....who knows!

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 12:12

Suze - did you order from there? let me know delivery etc, how it went. i went to order sleepi bedding from there and thats where i saw the tripp trapp too...

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 12:29

VS - you remember 'T'? Well she gets married....the saturday we go to France. What a shame DH can't be there

SuzeM · 21/08/2008 19:21

Scorpio, yes, I ordered it. Delivery is free. They answer email inquiries pretty quickly, customer service seems quite good.

luckymummy74 · 21/08/2008 21:09

Hi all,
I don't post on here very often as I was due in May but I did have her 30th April!! I do read the thread from time to time, mainly to spy on my good pal denny and what she's been up to....it saves me having to ring her ....only joking denny of course my dear!!!

Anyway, one of the ladies on the May 08 thread recommended this book for anyone having sleep problems with their little ones. I personally think it's a bargain at £7.49!! I ordered it from play.com, and so far so good. It talks a lot about recognising the signs of drowsiness and putting them down when they are drowsy as opposed to over-tired, IYSWIM. I have only tried it for two days, but my DD2 (16 weeks old) is defintely settling to sleep much better.

I just thought there might be some of you who might be interested.

Happy Birthday to E for tomoz denny VS - I'll see you on the BB thread!!!

EllieG · 21/08/2008 21:21

Scorpio - Molly loves her bumbo - was really good buy and is helping the flat head syndrome (oh the shame for a social worker's child to have a flat head)

Congrats V1KK1M! That's fab news.

Dondons - Amelie is sooo pretty! I love babies I do. Having said that, suze, you are not alone. I have no desire for another - sometimes I think it's because I love DD so much I don't think I could feel the same about another! Silly I know.

SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT BEFORE LAST!!!!

Went from 7pm - 6am, fed, then back to sleep til 8.30

Last night however she woke at 5 a.m. for a feed and a big yell, but then I went over to her cot and she gave me the biggest most beautiful smile ever and I couldn't stay cross with her for being a screamy pain in the bum. Bless her. What sap I've turned out to be....

MommyHasaHeadache · 21/08/2008 22:11

Very nice high chairs Sal and Suze - my preference being for the Tripp Trapp - now to convince DH to part with the dosh!

Congrats V1KK1M!!

DH and I were talking about No.2 a few days ago and it really made me think about the fact that if I pregnant now, Gigi would only be a year old when No.2 came along! However, in saying that, I would love to be pregnant now! I loved being pregnant so much. But will wait!

Hee hee love that you were so excited about your DD's long sleep Ellie! DD has only done it twice since being born, and today she had a 2 hour nap! That is the first time she has done that too - can't tell you how thrilled I was! Normally it is only 20 - 60 min naps - and the 60 min naps are rare! I'm not holding my breath that this will become a regular thing, but it was nice (for her too I think as she woke in such a good mood and this evening she was chirpy instead of grumpy!)

EllieG · 21/08/2008 22:18

2 hour nap! Cor. That's like a proper baby in the books. Mine never does that. Am v impressed.

VictorianSqualor · 22/08/2008 08:36

OMFG.
What an evening we had last night, sat in A&E.
DS1 fell off his top bunk, and fucked up his foot it went something like this

I look at DP, he looks at me Bloody kids.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
What's he done
DD:BOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYY
ME: OH FUCK

Thankfully nothing broke, it's just a bad sprain, his foot is about three times the size of normal, and he can't walk well.
Wasn't there for too long though, had some X-Rays and stuff, then came home, whilst we were there there was a 20ish yr old lad in the room opposite with exactly the same injury, DS wasn't making a sound and tried walking on it for the doctor etc, this lad, LOL was practically screaming and telling the doctor she was wrong, it was broken and he needed a bandage or a cast

However, Alex slept better last night. I think I fucked up by putting him to bed earlier lately. Yesterday he had a feed at 8:30pm, went to bed, stirred slightly at about 3ish, but didn't wake for a feed until 4am, then slept til 6:15, so I think that by bathing him at 7:30 and putting him to bed at 8 I created more wakings iyswim.
I'm going to try putting his routine back to the 9pm bedtime and then when we move, I'll try giving water for the 4am feed. He is perfectly capable of sleeping through, just that nice warm snuggly cuddle/feed with mummy at 4am is rather nice for him.

OP posts:
SuzeM · 22/08/2008 09:13

VS, your poor DS. How long will his foot take to heal?

Great about the babies sleeping through. Once or twice when we didn't feed E at 11, she woke at 4am, so I think she still needs the late night feed. My DH feeds her at that time anyway, so I am happy for her to continue feeding then!

Ellie, glad I am not the only one not contemplating #2.

MommyHasaHeadache, tell your DH the Tripp Trapp is a beautiful piece of furniture that will last years, therefore an investment. I'm going to order this tray also.

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 11:24

Millie was very sick in her sleep last night at about midnight until 2 ish. She was so sleepy though, bless her, and was sick and went straight back to sleep about 4 times. I stayed awake until about 4 just looking at her, making sure she was ok. We co-clept and kicked dh out We were so scared. But she has kept 2 feeds down this morning, no rash, lethargy etc. She had a bottle last night, i went down to my parents house and dh did her bedtime etc. She has never been sick before like that

She didnt wake up until 845 either!

Holiday deffo booked, am soooo chuffed! We leave 2 weeks today

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 11:25

VS - whoops

Poor Bobby sounds horrid.....bunk beds are a sodding nightmare. R sleeps on the top bunk, and shakes the bed little shit

Bainmarie · 22/08/2008 11:42

Hello ladies, hope you are all well, can't believe how quickly time is whizzing by!
Congrats V1KK1, what lovely news!

Gabriel is definately going through his growth spurt atm, feeding loads and am getting 'helpful' comments about weaning etc...and also still has reflux, but is still lovely and smiley.

Scorpio1 how is Millie now?
and how is Bobby vs? I think there is something in the air, ds1 has fractured his collarbone, although that is not stopping him in his mission to climb anything and everything.

Off school uniform shopping soon, dd starts school in Sept, how did that happen?!

Peachy · 22/08/2008 12:14

OOh poor Bobby and Mimi. Por little ones.

Big weekend coming up- barbecue tonight, friends fundraiser (she supports a school in INida) tomorrow; nephews Baptism Sunday- ouch!

Weaning and chairs- I am finding first bit easiest in his Bumbo, it wipes clean LOL. AS for chairs- if you have a nice dining set (one of the few decent bits we have), consider a booster- ds43 had one and still uses it, lets you use 'proper' chairs for your table iyswim. Ours has lasted 5 yeasr now, no probelems yet, but ds3 won't be out for Bas so will need a second I think.

Treated myself to this dress for the Baptism; adding in wide belt, purple tights and patent shoes becuase I have been watching Too Much Gok LOL

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 12:15

FAB dress!!!

EllieG · 22/08/2008 12:45

Poor Bobby and Mimi, hope they are both OK today.

Mol was a bugger last night - woke up crying at 1.30, didn't want food, just and cried. Cried more if picked up, not windy, ncried ot cold, not hungry just tired. Eventually subsided and then was just grizzly and talky for hours. I tried explaining that is easier to get to sleep if you just bloody well close eyes and be quiet, but she was having none of it.

Hey ho, hopefully will be tired tonight and will be better

gorgeous dress btw

MommyHasaHeadache · 22/08/2008 12:47

OMG! I just did a pregnancy test! DH suggested it as I have been complaining about period pains for a period that hasn't started yet. Exactly as I was a year ago... So, I have done the test and...

It's negative!

scorpio1 · 22/08/2008 12:48

LOL

VictorianSqualor · 22/08/2008 13:11

Bobby is behaving like a tyke again, so all is back to normal.
I really cannot wait until September.
I've been able to move my moving date forward a week, so we'll be moving in the tuesday after the kids go back, so, I'm going to keep them off for the first two days back, and send them on the monday
