Horseygirl - You haven't hurt him. There obviously wasn't anything particularly wrong with him. DD went through a phase of waking at 1am everynight - she didn't want milk, she didn't want to be touched, clean nappy etc etc. So one night I left her and she screamed for about 30 mins then slept, then the next night she woke again and moaned abit for about 10mins the next night she woke up reached for her winnie teddy and went back to sleep on her own. Apart from lately she hasn't woken in the night since.

lilyloo · 16/08/2008 12:16

Horsey no definately not He will be fine ! That's really good was that the first wake since bedtime ?

JKS fab i would be delighted if dd did that! He has done so well. Although we do co sleep if dd wakes up at that time can't bear getting up at something past 5

Lucky get some of ebay i have loads of em ! Don't know what i will do with em actually prob flog em back on there!

Gingeme hows things

All quiet here dd gone over to neighbours and ds and dp at ds swimming lesson. DD2 trying to do a poo

Think someone has just been pushing up their own bids on an ebay item i was bidding for. What do you do when you suspect this ?

Hi everyone !

Again, only a moment as I realsied I hadn't repleid to Lilyloo -

lily- Things are improving. DD went from 8pm until 1 fed for an hour (and she was really feeding ) then went until 5.15. I was able to again put her back in her cot which I never have been able to at this time. She slept until 6.30 and then got into bed with me for 45 mins. So, almost human!

LuckySalem · 16/08/2008 15:57

OMG - DD is crawling - it might only be backwards but she's crawling!! I'm so chuffed for her.

LaTrucha · 16/08/2008 16:38

safety gates up?

lilyloo · 16/08/2008 19:39

Lucky d is trying she rocking and up on all fours think it will only be couple of weeks (i would rather it be longer ) Yep stair gates , remove all objects at their level, eyes in the back of your head, never sitting still
LaTrucha fab hope it continues. DD seems to be improving slowly but don't want to say that to loudly!

Just curious, would any of you do anything further about this?

fingers crossed for good nights all round tonight

Horsy - def not

Lucky - you have a real livewire on your hands

night all

lilyloo · 16/08/2008 21:14

JKS i had a dodgy dealing on ebay too this am. Tbh i owuld just leave it as am sure she would say she had two. I think i caught another seller trying to boost her own bids but if i reported don't think it could be proved. Makes you want to forget ebay.
There loads more here

LuckySalem · 16/08/2008 21:49

Its ok she only did a couple of shuffles backwards then got frustrated so I think i'm ok for a little longer. (Hopefully)

MrsMcJnr · 16/08/2008 22:05

Hello ladies, hope you are all having a good weekend! ours is long this week as Friday was a public holiday. DH, DS and I went for a long walk yesterday (still familiarising ourselves with the new area!) and today we were at a BBQ at my parents, Xavier was so funny playing in the paddling pool . Classic comment from my Mother ?do you think he is cleverer than a monkey yet?!?

DS still won?t take his morning feed from me he nearly did this morning and then changed his mind and I had to get him a bottle. I?ll try for another week I think. I thought the problem was meant to be them giving up the boob not vv! Any experience anyone?

Isabellasmam ? hope the christening goes well tomorrow. I am going to go to Mass in the morning and see if the priest is back from his hols, really eager to set things up.

Housemum ? Glad you had a good night out have a fabulous holiday!

Simpson ? if you are logging in, have a great time!!

Horsymum ? I remember you I know what you mean about time, it took me 6 months after DS was born to get back on here. We have the rolling issue sometimes too. I heard the same think as Betterhalf about the rolled up towels so he couldn?t do it but I didn?t try that, the problem doesn?t happen that often now My DS sometimes cries like that, I thought it was maybe wind?

Luckysalem ? I knew I?d read it somewhere but couldn?t remember where! I have that book too, it?s good isn?t it? Especially here where I have no medical support unless DS is sick. Can you keep me up to date with what your HV is saying so that I don?t forget to do something?! Hope you have a better night tonight LOVING ?Keep rolling, rolling, rolling! ohh how can you resist doing a test? I did one recently too as was feeling ?odd? but it was negative sadly TMI alert ? still getting loads of discharge though and there is no sign of AF. I?d like to get pregnant again soon. Hope you are feeling better today wow, your DD is mobile!!

Lilyloo ? thanks for the suggestions great to hear that DD is sleeping and eating better. I do love it when DS sleeps in with us would love to hear your time saving/gaining tips and I am with you on thinking about Christmas ? I actually bought a pressie for my Dad this morning in our local market

JKS ? fab! my DS likes to suck his muslin or put it over his head too to go to sleep.

Gingeme ? your DS is a guzzler! I am so sad about all the lovely clothes DS hasn?t worn in the 3-6 months category oh well, so hope I have another DS at some point! I love The Baby Whisperer books, I base my routine on the EASY principle and I found the type of baby classifications really helpful early on

Betterhalf ? you are a nice person

Filly ? well done on going to the gym, I am still fat and unfit, oh dear that?s a bad poo story, I did have to cut clothes off DS once because the poo was so bad I couldn?t bear to pull the offending garments over his head!

Hello LaTrucha

Nicky6 ? the work idea sounds good, great that you can control your case load. I keep telling myself that I need to try to do more in a day because I will only have less time when I go back to work to do anything!

lilyloo · 16/08/2008 22:05

aah just got offered a bargain caravan for next week off fellow mnetter but dp saying it too far for next week he got week off and we can't find anything local and cheap and got one at Clacton off here for £150 for week why do i live so far away

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 16/08/2008 22:11

Wow MrsMc I love your round ups. Now I gotta go read again cos you mentioned things I missed. lol

I'll let you know what my HV says at the check. Really not looking forward to it as there is bound to be something i'm doing wrong. However, I'm kinda looking forward to showing her off
I WILL NOT TEST lol. DP thinks i'd be stupid to test too and that its just my hormones. I do want to be pg by the end of the year though so not sure whether I should just stop taking the pill and leave be or keep going for a while as it took 2 years off the pill to get DD.

LuckySalem · 16/08/2008 22:52

Is it this Monday we're meeting? I hope not as my uncle is on his way down.

Please say I'm nuts and we're meeting next monday?!?! PLEASE?"!?

lilyloo · 16/08/2008 22:55

Lucky think it's next as mm away this Mon!

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 16/08/2008 22:57

D'uh lucky - read the thread!! See you all a week on monday [phew]

MrsMcJnr · 16/08/2008 23:39

Lucky - we haven't been using any contraception but I guess until a couple of weeks ago I was exclusively BFing. Even if I could go back on the pill (can't due to blood clotting problem) I wouldn't as like you, it took me a while to conceive DS and as I am nearly 35 and would like a couple more babies if I am so blessed, I figure that it will happen when my body is ready, hey ho!

LuckySalem · 17/08/2008 11:41

I'm gonna suggest that I stop taking the pill now and see what happens but hope that nothing TOO soon. lol

LaTrucha · 17/08/2008 12:23

It's next Monday!

MrsMc - Sorry you're having problems with the bf. We're thinking how on earth we're going to gte her off for when we want to conceive again. I'm going ot try her on a bottle ... one of these days... I am pretty attached to bf. Hope yours goes the way you want it to.

horsygirl · 17/08/2008 12:53

I've caught up i've caught up!

thanks everyone who replied to me.

Had an ok night last night we've been waking him at 11pm and then he wakes up around 4ish. I shushed him back to sleep again this morning and i realised at 6am that he's been lying in poo!!!

betterhalf · 17/08/2008 13:38

Hooray! I've found my Child Health Book after weeks of searching and HV giving me a new one on Wednesday.
It had slid into the back of the sofa bed in the front room!
I knew I'd find it as soon as she gave me a new one. So glad I've got it though as I was quite down about having lost it with all his 'new baby' info in it.

Oh and MrsMcJnr, I don't view myself as nice. Someone once told me about fostering that 'you're either mad to do it in the first place, or doing it makes you go mad'! It's very true.

mixedmama · 17/08/2008 14:46

No time to catch up. HAd to just pop to the ınternet cafe so just saying hi... using a Turkish keyboard is not much fun.

Love to you all and I wıll chat prop when İ am back

mixedmama · 17/08/2008 14:50

very briefly just saw the moanıng about HV... just to put my pennies worth in.... minw told me DS2 had excema when ıt was scabies... ahhhh

fillybuster · 17/08/2008 19:41

Not even had a chance to catch up...just need to 'share' that it was ds' 3rd birthday today....which I found very emotional! Also very very exhausting - and that was just the family tea party; the big toddler party (the one in which 15 sugar-crazed 2-4 yr olds trash my house) isn't for another two weeks!!! Aaarghhh....panic! Ah well, at least I have another week to keep on stressing about making the flipping Thomas cake - today was just a Nigella chocolate cake with fancy icing and large amounts of decorations tastefully applied by ds this morning !
Hope you're all having lovely weekends...? Off out in 30 mins to a friends' 40th and, quite frankly, am far too tired to start getting ready ...maybe something to do with watching Cinema Paradiso until 1.30am and bawling my eyes out all last night?! Very foolish...have definitely paid the price today....
Hugs to all xxx

poltesco · 17/08/2008 20:26

hi everyone, you all sound like a lovely bunch.

thanks lillyloo for inviting me to join!

i've not long found this site, so wish i had a long time ago would have been so great to share things with other mums!

i have 3 dsc zoe 16, matt 13 and adam 12 they stay with us at weekends. been with dh for over 9yrs.

we had dd on the 20th jan 08 dsc have been fantastic with her so pleased its all worked out! she is a real little chatter box, showing no interest in crawling but is rolling all over the floor to get to things, we've been weaning for the last 4wks going ok just about to give up the 4day rule unsure if doing the right thing as lots of allergies on my side of the family ( anyone with same thing advice would be great as hv just says do what i think is best, no help at all!! )still bf dh thinks i should start to introduce drinks but i like the closeness with bf.

MrsMcJnr · 17/08/2008 22:53

Thanks LaTrucha he fed from me this morning, a full feed, I was sooo pleased, I?m not ready to give up all together yet as I do still think there is benefit to him in me continuing.

Horsygirl ? night time poos are such a nuisance aren?t they? I?m sure my What to Expect book said that poos aren?t meant to happen at night.

Betterhalf glad you found that book!

hey Mixedmama!! hope you are having fun!

Ah Filly happy birthday to your DS!

Welcome Poltesco! sounds like a fun brood you have there, bet the DSC adore your DD! Re BF, if your DD is at that stage of weaning, she?ll be BF less anyway. I have introduced a cup of water at lunch and dinner and that has worked well for us. I am following Annabel Karmel?s plan. Glad to hear that there are no signs of allergy with Dd

Quick poll: who is back at work? Who is going back soon? And who is not going back at all?
