OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:10

ahaha, it's probably you lot down there that have caused the shortage of the vaccination up here! It's not given till pre-school here but there are signs up saying that due to a vaccination shortage pre-school boosters aren't happening at the minute.

Is the epidemic due to people not having the triple vaccine done or choosing not to have it at all?

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 20:15

It's people not having the BCG or the triple vaccine. I realise it's a very touch subject with a lot of people, so i will not comment further

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:19

BCG is for tuberculosis isn't it? you only get that up here if you are in a high risk group, ie in contact with someone who is likely to have been infected.

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 20:24

It is for TB. Down here, whether you get it at birth depends which hospital you are born in. If you don't get it at birth then you are assessed later - mine are having it because Dh and i have always travelled a lot to 'at risk areas'. The theory being that we will probably take the DCs 'off the beaten track' in the future. It's not scheduled until September, so I may still change my mind about it.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:26

I knew there was a reason for me being a homebody

Wasn't Dr Who sad tonight? I had to wipe away a wee tear...or is that just hormones?

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 20:31

Not a fan of Dr Who I'm afraid.

BTW - not sure if it's on your list but you should definitely try and take DS to the Science Museum when you are down in the summer, if you have time.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:37

It's a toss up between the Science Museum and The Natural History Museum. Or could I do them both on the same day? Mind you, the state I was in today after five hours on my feet, I'm not even sure I'll even make it to London at this rate!

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 20:44

You have to come down, I want to meet you!

You could definitely do both museums as they are virtually next door to each other. The key is to pick a couple of galleries that you want to see and just do those. We'll come with you, if you'd like company

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 20:53

Not that it isn't lovely to talk to you, of course, but where is everyone tonight? Having real lives?

My credit card is burning a hole in my purse at the moment - I still have birthday money from my Mum to get a new handbag and haven't bought one so might have to disappear for a bit to try and find a suitable candidate.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:57

I'm here by virtue of the fact that DH is bloody working from home tonight

was there nothing nice in the boden sale?

and I do love vicariously shopping for handbags

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 20:58

how very dare they have a real life

holly will be hugging her new fridge and playing with the ice/cold drinks dispenser

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:03

I'm not really a Boden girl.

Any help gratefully accepted - but I'm not entirely sure what I'm after handbag wise really. It has to be big enough to fit in a couple of nappies and a small pack of wipes and other necessities - at the moment I carry a change bag and a small handbag. As DD is now more or less potty trained and DS needs fewer nappy changes, I want to amalgamate the two bags into one, iyswim. It needs to go comfortably over my shoulder - not necessarily with a full length shoulder strap, but not such small handles that it would be wedged in my arm-pit. I'm not very good at bag shopping.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 21:09

not that this will be much use to you, but I got the perfect bag in clarks earlier this year. i can fit in a couple of nappies and some wipes and DDs red book plus my own nonsense. It can go across the body, but also the strap shortens and I can hang it over the buggy handles when we are out and about. I'll see if I can find it or something similar.

Are you a leather fetishist fan or not fussed?

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 21:17

how about this one?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2008 21:25

I'm here!!

My new fridge is very lovely, possibly a little too big, but I'm sure we'll fill it up very quickly!

I've fucking had enough of Sky! Our box hasn't been working for a few days and we've just phoned them and they want to charge us £60 to come out and fix it! They only replaced the box in March, so it is about 2 weeks outside its 90 day warranty! FUCKFUCKFUCK! I am now looking at ISPs. It is a PITA, but I'm not paying Sky £45 odd a month for them to charge me again every time their shitty boxes break!

AAARRRRRSSSSEEEE!! I'm in a bad mood now!

I thought the Boden sale was pretty rubbish atch! Nothing really for ds and dd really doesn't need any more clothes! Nothing really for me either. I'm holding out for the Monsoon sale!

Fairy, glad you had a good girly day. I really need to have one of those with dd. She would love to have me to herself for a day!

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:32

Hello Holly - I am lusting after an American style fridge. Sky are pants.

Daisy - I would prefer leather. That bag is nice but I would like something a bit more interesting - iykwim???? I really am quite fussy for someone who has no idea what she really wants . If money were no object, I'd probably have [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-MULBERRY-ANNIE-BAG-BLACK-BNWT-RECEIPT-RRP-595_W0QQitemZ250264970338QQ cmdZViewItem?hash=item250264970338&trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&trksid=p3286.c0.m14 one of these Mulberry bags]] but in dark brown

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:33

lets try that again

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:36

I have just seen Foxy's status update on facebook - she's taken a quiz which shows she's going to have 5 kids - 3 boys and 2 girls - so maybe she'll be next to join the 'club'......?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2008 21:44

Hi fairy! The fridge is fab, I just didn't realise how deep it would be! Stupidly I measured the width and though it would be fine without measuring the depth! Oops! It is ok, it just sort of sticks out a bit and you can't get past when someone has the door open! It was a long term purchased though and will go elsewhere when we finally get our kitchen done. The best thing now is that I can buy a dishwasher because we now have space under the worktop where the old fridge was. HURRAH! Now that is something to lust after !

I have just bought myself some Birkenstocks and a new dress! That'll teach dp to go and play golf !

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:46

Nice purchases Holly! I've given up on the handbag searcha agin - I really should try harder to work out what it is that I actually want

FrazzledFairyFay · 05/07/2008 21:50

Right, lovely ladies, I am going to love you and leave you - I promised myself that I'd be in bed before 10 - in the hope of getting a looooong sleep, which I desperately need.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2008 21:50

IKWYM fairy. I find it really tricky to buy stuff for myself now. I used to be a brilliant shopper and would buy stuff all the time for myself, now I find it boring and tedious and I don't really need anything. I'd much rather buy things for the dcs than myself. I'm sure it's because I'm fat now and clothes don't look as good on me as they used to!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2008 21:51

Sleep well fairy x

lackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2008 21:52

Plenty on that site to go at though!
