I think I tend to pop in here fortnightly for a big catch up, though I?m like that in RL too, keep to myself mostly then contact friends for a catch up with the goss (usually on facebook).

Milestone-wise, she?s still behind but she sits on her own beautifully, will reach forward for something and bring herself back. She waved yesterday(it may have been an isolated incident) and has started to rock whilst sitting, it?s so cute. No teeth, rolling or crawling yet, but been chatting for a while, I wish she?d say mamama instead of dadada though. She was 7 months on Friday, and I?ve been telling everyone she?s 6 and a half ? dates really do escape me atm.

We went out for our anniversary last weekend, just me & dh, it was strange but nice to be on our own. Then we were out for a friends birthday on weds, whilst DD slept at Grandma?s, so strange to wake up and she?s not here. Still, I made the most of it and had a great time.

I?ve also signed up for the MN Manchester Xmas Meet up, I?m really looking forward to it.

I?m back to work in a few weeks part time, but I?ll be taking DD with me so we?ll see how successful that is.

Buzzy ? I love the mid-winter Xmas idea.

Macdoodle hope the mastitis has cleared up now.

Clara - You?ll be on your way to Pakistan today won?t you? Wow, exciting, wishing you all the best for your move. Oh, poor DD I really hope she?s better.

Jewels - welcome. A Xmas day baby, wow that?ll be an expensive day in j&g household. We?re quite a bit routiney here, purely down to the books I read whilst I was pg, if I?d have read non-routine based books, then I?d have possibly followed them. We?ve also got solid floors downstairs which I?m worried about for when she gets mobile but DH won?t get carpets. I?m the opposite with clothes buying, I can?t stand it, I envy the ladies who are cos they seem to enjoy it. DD has cheek rash too, she gets it almost every day, sometimes it feels warm, but I think its dribble rash. I use Avents Magic Cream which clears it straight away, but it comes back the next day!

Louise - I hope you?re feeling better in yourself now, hormones are great aren?t they for doubting your parenting abilities. I go through stages of feeling down. We have toys in both her cots, a few in her main cot so she can play when she wakes and keeps her from screaming straight away (snap BT), and all the rest of her soft toys in her travel cot downstairs as it now doubles as her playpen.

Dundee - Hiya, Sardinia, nice.

Mixedmama - Everyone asks about the next baby don?t they? I am planning for the next one ? which dh knows will be a boy!?! but planning for a few years away, when DD is about 4, I just want to enjoy her as much as possible now. Your holiday is not long now, a whole month in Turkey? Visiting the rellies? Very nice. I?m impressed by your weight loss, I don?t have the motivation at all but I really must start putting some effort in.

Skid - I bet your colleague was embarrassed walking in on you. My DH is the opposite to yours re the crying, he picks her up if she makes a tiny noise whereas I?ll only comfort her if she?s uncontrollably wailing ? which is usually when she?s tired.

Wheresmyhat - Hallo. DD has ricecakes, she didn?t take to them at all but now will suck and devour in no time.

Beanster - your girls are gorgeous ( of course you know that )Thanks for the award for the posting, the thread moves too fast, I read every couple of days, but don?t have time to respond properly, problem is that by the time I eventually post everyone has moved on!! You did well camping with 2 LO?s, the weather must have been good for midges to be out.

Clairey - poor you and DS not sleeping. I feel like we cheat with this a bit now, as DD still goes to bed quite late, 9-10pm but she?ll sleep til 6.30am, I think she?d be up earlier if she went down at 6-7pm like most babies. Sloe Gin sounds nice, I?m not a fan of gin, but made Lemon Gin for Xmas a few years back, which was nice.

Beckle - you?ve stolen my mighty post crown! Wow 5 teeth, that?s impressive. Evie is sooo gorgeous, though she?s always been a pretty baby hasn?t she. Hope she wins the baby competition, if it?s anything like the one in our local paper, the competition will be easy.

Amani - You?re looking forward to work? I thought I would be, but sadly no, I?m dreading it. Loving the cake baking, I?d get into it myself if the weight was already creeping up as it is. The sitting up happened all of a sudden, she sat for 20 secs before toppling, then just days later completely steady.

BT - at the baby group we go to, the tiny ones are appearing now, youngest was 3 weeks. The mums were fascinated by DD sitting and playing, and I was awww at the tiny sleeping newborns. DD watches babyfirst on sky.

Suey - at new iphone, I have the original one and LOVE it, don?t think I?ll be upgrading just yet but I?m so impressed with it. Oh you?re not getting one, the reviews on the nokia are good though.

Kelbel - That?s great that everything has fallen into place for you.

Loucee - Hope you?ve not got full on cold, the throat is always first. Poor DS with chickenpox, he won?t have it later though will he?

Caz10 - We?re also inconsistent with food, usually manage 2 lots a day sometimes 3 or only 1, and we?ve had days when she?s only had milk. I?ve only given early breakfast once, her first ?meal? is around 10/11, then around 2pm, then 5pm (if we manage all 3) She eats her last meal way before bedtime though(about 4 hrs)

DD won?t drink from sippy cups, any idea how I can get her to?

Where?s the bloody summer gone ?

Ambi · 20/07/2008 22:41

Ok that took FAR too long! but I'm glad I caught up.

buzzybee · 21/07/2008 11:11

Jewels - no I don't think your neice is correct to think the baby will receive full protection through BF. But hopefully her sister will be fully recovered by then? My nephew caught chicken pox at 1 week old despite being fully BF and was really ill. Not nice.

Goodness Ambi!!! Am incredibly impressed by your post! I'm a bit the same as you - scan most days but don't write. Mostly because its always the middle of the night over there when I'm on line here so there's less incentive. Your DD sounds quite like mine

Speaking of which my poor DD has a real raspy, chesty cough. Have an apptmt with GP tomorrow to double check she doesn't need ABs. She's had the cough for a week now and it seems to be getting worse not better. Only upside is she still seems quite happy but of course is not sleeping too well. At least I can say she went 6 full months without being sick.

Have also moved her into her own room finally!

Amani · 21/07/2008 15:53
  • my goodness well done with the catch up and congratulations on your anniversary.

How are you ladies today? Hope you and your LO are well. Not been up to much - DD's both asleep and I've put my feet up, got my fav music on and surfing . Had to have another blood test today for thyroid chek up - took DD1 with me and she was so fascinated with nurse poking the needle in my arm and then said 'Mummy needs a brave sticker now'......

BouncingTurtle · 21/07/2008 16:12

Amani - aww bless @ your dd1!

Did the picnic thing today, was rather good. Though Ds di his or God you are torturing me thing when I tried to feed him! Not good publicity
Speaking of which.. better go get him!

claireybee · 21/07/2008 16:14

Hi everyone, my goodness I am being kept busy at the moment!

We have found a 3 bed house to rent, the upstairs is just your standard 3 bedrooms and a bathroom but downstairs is MASSIVE-they have extended into the garage and out to the back so what you get is a sitting room and a kitchen diner (the original house) then a dining room and a massive second reception room which we will have as playroom/guest bedroom in the extension. Then there is also a conservatory on the back of the kitchen diner-I'm so excited about havng SPACE!!

Our landlord has said he will waive our notice period so long as he can find new tenants (shouldn't be a problem as demand is really high for houses round here)so I have been cleaning and sorting so that the house looks less cluttered and fit for viewing but DS really isn't helping!

He is crawling and exploring everywhere now, nearly got hold of a bottle of flash I was using earlier, pulled himself up on dd's box of duplo and started to empty it bit by bit then crawled with pieces so I keep standing on them/finding them in oddplaces. I cleaned the windows and patio doors earlier but he has just pulled himself up against them and started snogging his reflection so they are covered in handprints and dribble and I have admitted defeat and am sitting down to mn instead!

Bon voyage Clara, hope it all goes well and looking forward to hearing your news once you get there.

Ambi wow another epic post! I was more like that when I just had dd but now I have two I pop on most days as otherwise I feel like my whole world is baby focused (though I come on here and talk about them so not sure how that helps!).

Amani glad dd2's skin is better, hope it stays that way.

Loucee it is definitely easier not having to change 2 lots of nappies but I wish dd had waited til she was ready to train before refusing to wear nappies as I spent most of my time asking her if she needed a wee or mopping up accidents to begin with and she is still pretty unreliable.

Louise ds has quite a few toys at the bottom of his cot and a couple at the top. They don't make much difference to him though-he still cries if put in there awake and when he wakes up!

BouncingTurtle · 21/07/2008 17:05

Clairey - that house sounds fab! When can you move in?
Well ds can't crawl (at least I don't think so!) but he can get about!
I put him on the changing mat on the floor downstairs, took off his nappy, cleaned him up and put some cream on, then realised I had only one nappy downstairs so nipped upstairs to get some more (figured some naked botty time would be good for him!). I took some stuff upstairs as well. When I came downstairs, he was on his front, totally off the changing mat and was trying to get into the changing box, which was easily a body length away from the changing mat! He must have shuffled his way over! Luckily he hadn't peed lol.
I have a nest thing so will have to make sure I put him in that when I go upstairs now! Though I reckon it won't be long before he figures out how to get out of it...

claireybee · 21/07/2008 17:24

Hey BT I'm really excited about it-it is tons bigger than all the others we looked at and we saw it early. It is available immediately but we have to wait 5-7 days for our references to be approved and hope our current landlord finds new tenants so he can release us-otherwise we have to wait til sept and might lose it

Well done to your ds-that's how ds started moving, I couldn't figure out how he was moving but he was never where I'd left him!

Wizzska · 21/07/2008 19:42

Clairey, hope you get it. It sounds wonderful. Can't imagine how it would be to have such space, am getting really fed up with the cramped 2 bed flat we've got. Really hope we can get the roof done.

Loucee, hope you get the culprit.

Ambi - DS won't drink from sippy cups either.

Clara- can't wait for you to get back online to see how things are going in Pakistan.

DS still not crawling although is getting closer to it.

Are we getting close to a new thread? Shall I start one?

Hello Everyone!! Never seem to get the chance to log in these days, but just wanted to say hi and hope you all doing well, can't believe where the time is going. Kaesha nearly 8 months - how did that happen?! Crawling and trying to pull herself up on stuff which is utterly amazing and scary all at once!! Wish I could keep up with all that's going on on here but seem to have trouble achieving that in RL so not much hope of mananging it here!! Lots of love and wishing you all well, will prob manage to log in again in a few months!!!
