Hi all!
Skid, Your DH and mine sound very alike in their childcare methods! I popped out to the shop leaving the DCs at home, could hear DD screaming before I even got in the door! She was crying away in her bouncy chair while he was in the hallway putting up a bannister! He said he went in to her but she didn't want him... I think that we feel as though our babies are a part of us but men see them as completely separate if that makes sense. I am with you on feeling sad at bfing less too, we have gone from 5 feeds a day to 3 (1 feed dropped, one replaced with formula) and I feel very sad about that.
Cazzy, do not be fooled into thinking wooden floors are easier to keep clean! They need doing more often for starters and you can't just run the hoover round to freshen the room up - the dust collects under the furniture like you wouldn't believe so you have to move it all! They do look good though!
Clara, hope your move is going well, sounds as though you have it well under control although DD being poorly can't help - glad she is doing better now though! Sorry to hear about your IBS too, it is not a nice thing to live with. I used to suffer badly with it but it has not been a problem for some years until recently - it has definitely been stress which has brought it on but it does disappear when the stress does so hopefully you will feel a lot better when you have settled into your new life!
Kelbel, well done on getting your routine sorted!
Jewels, no idea on the rash, am shocked that your surgery can't give you an appointment sooner though! BTW, my washing machine also seems to eat little socks - some of DD's newborn ones are still missing!
Caz, hope you are feeling better now.
BT, lol at Daniel pulling your DH's chest hairs, Evie does that to my DH too - hehe! I think that babies do go through phases with their food, Evie has gone from loving everything to refusing pureed veg, she clamps her mouth shut and makes it as small as possible - so funny! I find that if I mix a couple of veggies up with a bit of meat or potato though she will happily take it.
Fifi, well done you on losing some weight! I think you need the occasional treat while dieting otherwise you just crave it. I always cut out rubbish from my diet but allow myself treats at weekends when I want to lose a bit.
Loucee, hope your little man is coping okay with his chicken pox.
Amani, sorry to hear about your thyroid problem, hopefully though the medication won't be too much of a pain and will make you feel a lot better! As for DD's lump, where abouts is it and how big is it? Could be a little gland (Evie almost permanently has a couple raised at the base of her neck). If you are still worried in a few days then take her back to see a different doctor if you can.
Clairey, lol at lazy arsed linguist! I was definitely one of those (and still am...)! However, DS1 was average for movement and speech and is now good at both, DS2 was super-fast with movement and speech and is still good at both. DD is very strong and babbles a lot too - will be interesting to see what she does!
Evie now has 5 teeth, getting sore when she decides to bite me during feeding now they are top and bottom. I gave her her first bottle of formula last week and she is now taking one every day. I didn't plan to BF for as long as I have but I feel stupidly guilty for giving her formula. She has taken to it well although she wasn't keen to begin with and the teats hurt her gums at the moment. I am going to keep it to just one bottle a day for a few weeks, I've got until late September before I go back to work so have got a couple of months to wind it down. Have found that she doesn't much like taking water with her meals though and she is a bit constipated today. Didn't do much yesterday either but she has been straining today and nothing... gave her a good bit of pear with her tea tonight and if that doesn't work was wondering if I should give her some breastmilk (just the foremilk maybe) with her meals for a couple of days??? Any suggestions?
