conkertree, I really do wish you all the best with your kilt making

tokentotty · 31/07/2008 15:25

Ok, sorry about that. seemingly a complete computer meltdown.

Was just saying that I really love the idea of baby kilts. I reckon you'll do brilliantly once you get your name out there. If you have someone who can put a website together for you it'd be great. That and get your name and number on wedding sites etc. Who needs Dragon's den eh ?

Lizzie can not wait to start school every days she asks is it a school day and gets upset when it not.. She has already decided she is going to be a teacher .

Well done sagpuss I was thinking that we need a list of birthdays.

shrinkingsagpuss · 31/07/2008 18:01

except its not complete........ James is missing... i think.. bananabump wasn't it?

GillL · 01/08/2008 11:02

AF UPDATE - It's arrived!!!!!! Woo hoo! I am so relieved. Anyway, let's move on

Isn't it mad that there are only 8 of us originals left. Yes, James was bananabump.

Ds slept from 8pm til 6am last night. He didn't even really make a fuss when we put him to bed. Looks like it's working putting him to bed later. Long may it continue.

That's so sweet Lizzie.

LOL at the pc malfunction TT.

I was determined not to let myself get in a bad mood today but I am. It's my last day at work before my 2 weeks holiday but we have gone live with supporting 4 new applications on the helpdesk and I have been bugged non-stop since I got here at 9. I am very much looking forward to 4:30 when I can forget about work. I have loads to do before I go. Better get on.

tokentotty · 01/08/2008 11:50

Oh thank goodness Gill, that's a relief for you and means you really can enjoy your holiday eh ? Bet DH is relieved ! Now, no more getting frisky without protection ok!!! Sure you've learnt your lesson...

We had a bad night with pads. Picked him up from nursery and he was burning up, as the evening went on his temp went from 38.4 up to 39.6 so phoned NHS direct who basically just told us to dose him up, take his temp again after 45 mins and if it went down at all then it was ok. Thankfully it had gone down by a degree but for the first time ever (and hopefully the last !!) he came to bed with us as he was so poorly. Little b*gger kept us awake all night with his coughing, fidgeting, punching/kicking etc only to be bright and breezy this morning with a temp of 35.4 !!

GillL · 01/08/2008 12:50

Yes I've definitely learnt my lesson TT. I haven't told dh yet as he'd already left for work but he will be very relieved. If it wasn't for our financial situation then I would only be too happy to be having another baby. Dh is waiting VERY patiently for a promotion so hopefully that will help let me take more mat leave. Just got to work on getting him to sell his car as it's far too expensive to run. I don't hold out much hope.

Sorry to hear pads was unwell. Hope you're not falling asleep at your desk today.

Pinkranger · 01/08/2008 21:43

`Hello ladies, just a quick one as me and dh are on the second bottle of red and dont want to : drone" on for ages!!! Nice to see everyone here! Really cant believe our LO are turning 1 now!!!!!! Up for a child friendly meet up?? Maybe next year we should do a big meet up for the day/weekend??

Pinkranger · 01/08/2008 21:44

See talking rubbish after 2 mins!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/08/2008 22:09

Hiya pink good to hear you drunk and cheerful! I'm on the cider myself. Yep 1 year already!!! I'd be up for a meetup somewhere one day, I can always hop on the train with the boy, as long as it wouldn't cost too much.

hi all, we've got our friends 2 girls (aged 15 and 11) staying with us for the week. o it's a great excuse for shopping and eating lots of chocolate

Just scrolling through- Callum goes to bed at 10.30pm (with no fuss or upsets for the last 2 weeks-hooray!!) and sleeps till between 12-1pm (lunchtime the following day) then he has a 2 hour nap at about 3-4pm and occasionally he'll have a half hour nap at around 7.30pm ish.
I know it's late to bed but dh loves spending the time with him when he gets home from work and with my FM it suits me that he sleeps till lunchtime so i get some rest and sleep too. I have to say that that sleep is often broken by needing milk, nappy change and an occasional play in the bed (he comes in with me when dh goes to work) but when he has a growth spurt he's usually pretty zonked for a least 12 hours straight!

Anyway Callums birthday is August 20th

my2weegirls-i'll text you my address this weekend

conkertree-i'll reply to you when i've spoken to dh-thanks for getting back to me

lizzie-i did understand your first message but the 2nd one made far more sense Are you going away anytime in those 6 weeks? Hope you're not driven to insanity?

gill-glad you got AF (your comment about your evenings on your own made me giggle

pink-yes a meet up would be lovely

James-how are you feeling?

Tasha-glad the boys and dp are ok after the 'lagan' experience

Callums feet have grown a whole size in the last 2 weeks-he's now a 4 and 1/2, can't remember who was asking but i think the sizes are 6-12 months-size 2, 12-18 months-size 3 but i could be wrong!

lizziemun · 02/08/2008 06:20

No we went away in June for a week.

But mum been off this week and had my 11yr old cousin staying the week so they have had a busy week playing together, and then dh is off for 2 weeks in a fortnight so we will go out and about on day trips then.

As for shoes i get Lexie feet measured when we get Lizzie's done when we go and try to get her school shoes. Which isn't easy when your feet are a 'C' fitting and most shoes start in 'D' or 'E' fitting.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 02/08/2008 10:35

I'm ok thanks helibee, been finding it difficult to sleep and had a few headaches and feeling sick since starting the AD's but hopefully it'll all settle down soon enough. Mood wise, it's hard to tell just yet, I feel ok but then again I did have good and bad days prior to starting the tablets. No crying though, which is good.

Off shopping when dp finally gets up as we got a tax credits rebate of a few hundred quid (explains why we struggled so much last year) so going to get a few presents, balloons etc for James's birthday and the cake ingredients.

Anyone making their babies birthday cake? Got any ideas I can steal ?

lizziemun · 02/08/2008 11:15

James

I'm lucky a lady my mum works with mum makes cakes. So mum has always bought Lizzie cake from her so she is doing the same with Lexie.

She making a nursery style cake for Lexie.

For Lizzie we have had

1st - pink teddy bear cake

2nd - Nemo

3rd - Angelina Ballerina

4th - Hansel and Gretal's Gingerbread house.

Lovely ideas, particularly the hansel and gretel cake! I always remember one my mum made for me when I was little, it was a princess castle cake, with icecream cone turrets and sweetie flowers climbing up the side, all covered in pink icing. I was awestruck.

Fgs, I'm still waiting for dp to get ready so we can go shopping... he didn't get up til 12.30, he just had a 40 min shower and he just asked for the sewing kit...

AIBU to punch him in the googlies if he isn't ready to go in ten minutes??
